http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h117/Alingatong/diyandi1.jpg

Folk-lore depicts Iligan's Patron Saint St. Michael the Archangel as the protector of peace. During the 70s, at the height of the secessionist hostilities in Mindanao, people believed that Iligan remained untouched ans safe from rebel attacks because of the miracle of St. Michael.

One evening, when the hostile group was poised to attack Iligan, the rebels retreated because they could not find the city as it was transformed into a lake. Another story told is that the Patron Saint makes his rounds in the evening as evidenced by amorseko grass on his clothes and muddy boots.

These are just few of the many stories about St. Michael. Even the story of his installation as patron saint of Iligan continues to inspire and endear him to each and every Iliganon.

Thus his feast every 29th of September, is a grand celebration in Iligan. In fact, it has transformed into a month-long festival, the DIYANDI FESTIVAL SA ILIGAN.

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h117/Alingatong/diyan1.jpg

Diyandi is a ritual performed by an all-female group outside the Cathedral during the Pagkanaug, before every novena and before the start of the Komedya, or Comedia de San Miguel, a folk stage play depicting the celestial battle. The ritual depicts the courtship between a Maranao male and Higaonon female, and culminating into an offering symbolic of their union and beautiful harvest to St. Michael the Archangel. The ritual aptly describes the peaceful co-existence of Iligan's tri-people - Maranaos, Higaonons, and Christians.

^^ Illegal drugs is always a big problem in our country esp. in urban areas but compared today Iligan is one of the active city in the P.I. addressing such problem. Drug trafficking incident here in is not as high as before (as what I have heard in the news recently) but the problem is always there.

Influx of our Muslim brothers and sister is not a big problem not a threat at all in fact some of them are having big businesses here in the city. :D (I mean real business huh) :)

I'd be nothing short of amazed if they can give the sidewalk back to the pedestrians :runaway: .

i am really into that idea also but even without the plantboxes before, the sidewalks cannot be throughly walked by any pedestrians before.

For example that highway fronting the new Gaisano mall is not a pedestrian friendly area since the early times when that place used to be a terminal for RURAL and BACHELOR Express before coz that place had been the sidewalk cafeteria, the sidewalk vulcanizing area, the sidewalk motorshop, and etc...

in the market area, the sidewalk is used as a selling area of ambulant vendors, i think the problem of the sidewalk area is a result of the deviant people who keep on making the sidewalks a place of their daily routines which should be used for pedestrians instead. I think anywhere in Iligan, u cannot see a pedestrian friendly area in a public place.

i think the city should amend our city ordinance to really prohibit the sidewalk from being used as a selling area or any sort of business for any person or perhaps apprehend building owners from LETTING THEM SELL ON THE FRONT OF THEIR AREA. its not that we dont want these people to do their money making effort but we should inculcate into their minds the idea that business should be put into proper places and that they should be taught of the idea of good pedestrian throughfare...i think we lack discipline becoz we dont follow simple rules regarding pedestrian areas.

so that's why i am into this idea of putting plant boxes from on the national highway area before these AMBULANT VENDORS make it an area of their business endeavours specially that GAISANO MALL's opening is fast approaching.

Everything is not lost despite the system. Greed supplants the system. If the city's / nation's leaders will not give a hoot about winning the next election (not be greedy for wealth, power, fame, etc.), but will do only what is in the best interest of the city / country, we'd probably retake our former position of glory in Asia in no time. :speech:

The Legend of Maria Cristina Falls’ Creation

Long time ago, Omaca-an, a giant carnivorous monster owned Lake Lanao. Since he eats human beings and animals living in land and even in water, there were just very few people around the lake. Since the said monster is a threat to the people’s life, Rajah Solaiman was the first who fought the giant, but unfortunately he did not succeed and worst, he was killed. Then, Rajah Indarapatra followed to look for his brother Solaiman. Indarapatra confronted the man eater monster, Omaca-an and successfully defeated him.

Rajah Indarapata stayed several years along the shores of the lake searching for his brother’s ring. He asked the animals that he met and he even swim in the water everyday and gathered both big and small stones underneath the water, but then he still didn’t found Solaiman’s ring.

Indarapata created an irrigation system that had covered a lengthy distance which later became a river (now the Agus River) which has a portion that dropped down a deep ravine (now the Maria Cristina Falls).

How Maria Cristina Falls got its name?

There were two beautiful sisters named Maria (the younger) and Cristina (the elder) living near the falls where Indarapata’s irrigation system is located. They love each other very much to the extent that Maria gave everything she have to Cristina. They also loved their neighbor as they loved themselves.

Since Maria & Cristina are good-looking and attractive maidens, many Datus & Sultans came to ask for their hands in marriage, but the sisters refused. However, there was an unhappy son of a famous Sultan living somewhere nearby Lake Lanao .He couldn't find find the girl that he really loved. He traveled around the lake until he saw the two maidens of the falls. He fell in love with the Maria and Cristina but the two sisters did not know whom he really loved. Days have passed and Maria realized that she loved the son of the sultan very much, which made her very sad and she went to the top of the falls and jumped. When Cristina her sister, found out that Maria was dead, she likewise went to the top of the falls and tossed herself down the deep ravine.

When the handsome young man discovered what happened and found the dead bodies, he buried them carefully under the falls and never married until he also died. He named the falls, Maria Cristina, after the two sisters he loved.

Iligan tagged as ideal site for prawn raising

Iligan City and Bukidnon are ideal sites for giant freshwater prawn culture, said Dr. Henry Dejarme of the Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSU-Naawan) Insititute of Fisheries Research and Development. Dr. Dejarme is an environmental and aquaculture expert in Northern Mindanao.

Iligan and Bukidnon have adequate freshwater resources that could be harnessed for aquaculture development, Dejarme said during a technology forum hosted by the Department of Science and Technology in Cagayan de Oro. MSU-Naawan has an ongoing project on giant freshwater prawn hatchery in Naawan, Misamis Oriental. Dr. Dejarme said 16 local government units in Bukidnon have a standing order for 50,000 giant freshwater prawn larvae from MSU-Naawan. From the university's hatchery project on giant freshwater prawn, 17,000 post larvae were distributed in Sinakaban, Misamis Occidental, and another 17,000 post larvae were distributed in Valencia, Bukidnon. Dr. Dejarme said that the growth characteristics of freshwater prawn in Misamis Occidental and Bukidnon were similar.

For the first quarter, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) reported that fishpond production of prawns reached 17.4 metric tons valued at P4.2 million. Prawn production is supplied the region's consumers and a small portion shipped to nearby regions with highly urbanized centers such as Cebu in Central Visayas and Davao in Southern Mindanao.

Ornate arches adorned the entrances on four sides of the park. There were no acacia and mabolo trees yet. The streets, although still unpaved, were barren yet clean. Armed MILF man nabbed in Iligan
By Lino dela Cruz
Iligan Correspondent

ILIGAN CITY -- An armed Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) member was arrested here last Tuesday by police operatives following a tip from a barangay informant.

Police Chief Benedicto Olaivar said a member of the barangay intelligence network reported that a suspicious-looking man was seen loitering in sitio Kalubihon, Barangay Dalipuga last Tuesday noon.

Responding police operatives confronted the assailant identified as JPL Arumpac who tried to resist but was immediately arrested.

The police confirmed that Arumpac is an MILF member from the town of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.

An unlicensed .45 pistol and 10 live bullets were confiscated from Arumpac.

The police have been conducting surveillance on suspected MILF and communist New People's Army (NPA) rebels in this city as the highest alert level was raised due to reports that the two groups have already penetrated the rural areas and urban center here.

Olaivar said the police have intensified their operations following Arumpac's arrest since there are indications that there could be more armed communist NPA rebels and MILF members to penetrate the city.

Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Cruz commended the police for the suspect’s arrest and said that authorities have set up contingency measures to avert any spillover of the Basilan conflict here.

One of the measures was the activation of the Barangay Intelligence Network and the Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO) to assist the police force in intelligence gathering.

This city has also initially installed at least 44 surveillance cameras, costing P8.9 million, in strategic spots for security measures, according to Mayor Cruz.

The installation of additional surveillance cameras is now planned as part of this city's effort to fight criminality and terrorism, added Cruz.

I also encountered it too I really have to email the administrator (Jan) for that. :ohno:

Below was Jan’s reply

Hi tough,

It seems there was indeed a problem validating the account. I just
validated it manually. Try logging in again, it should work now.

I heard that the site where this giant reservoir is located will be developed into an eco park. Is this the place they called Aqua Peak? Some friends told me to visit the site coz it's a good point to take interesting pics of the city skyline.

Good news another eco park. :applause:

The giant reservoir can bee seen while in Hinaplanon Highway. It's painted with blue color and it's really huge. Hope this answered the longtime water problem of the nearby barangays.

I think it will. :)

Rizal Park of Old Iligan

http://www.geocities.com/lchsspectrum/origplaza.jpg

A vintage photo of the old Iligan Public Plaza during its early days. Photo, taken years before the fire of 1957, was shot from the corner of Washington Street (now Gen. Aguinaldo St.) and Juan Luna St. (now M. Badelles St.). Unknown to many, the plaza was called Rizal Park, as indicated by the inscription in the photo. Ornate arches adorned the entrances on four sides of the park. There were no acacia and mabolo trees yet. The streets, although still unpaved, were barren yet clean. Electric posts had only a few wires. The property on the left corner (now occupied by the Padilla building) as well as the property on the right (now occupied by a Caltex gas station) were still uninhabited. Photo by R.C.E. Studio, supplied by Iligan City Tourism Office, courtesy of Santi Ong.

Binasan Gold Project in Iligan City Re-opens; Gango Gold Rush in Bukidnon & XYZ Gold Project in Masbate Continues Its Development, Exploration And Mobilization, Pearl Asian Mining Announces

ORO -- Operation Reach Out Programs Expand to Masbate Island

MANILA, Philippines--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pearl Asian Mining Industries, Inc. with Stock SYMBOLS: U.S.A. (OTC:PAIM)(OTC:PAIMP); Germany (XETRA:R1Z.DE) and (Frankfurt:R1Z.F) announces that it had mobilized two separate gold teams to fast track the re-opening and full operations of the Gango Gold Rush Gold Project and the XYZ Gold Project as well as the re-opening of the Binasan Gold Project this week.

GANGO GOLD RUSH -- Bukidnon

President/COO Engineer Ricardo Bernardo and its Mechanical Engineering Team are fast tracking the completion, the rehabilitation and the re-conditioning of the existing 50 Metric Tons of the Gango Gold Rush Processing Plant. The newly purchased Cyclone/Cyclone pump assembly in addition to the existing gold mill plant, together with a set of pulverizer and small jaw crusher are being added and used for a quick gold mineral assay on-site. The brand new fully automated Carbon Elution Column Carbon Reactivation and Electrowinning Plant is now being added to the existing gold mill refinery plant. A total of 8 team members are currently working on the refurbishing of the plant with the estimated completion of Sept. 20, 2007 is still on target.

The building of the 250 Metric Tons of XYZ Gold Processing Plant will be the next project. President Bernardo together with a new set of mechanical team will move to Masbate Island next month to start the building and implementing of the newly designed gold processing mill plant for the XYZ Gold Project in Masbate.

Chief Mining Officer Engineer Cesar Rosales, Chief Safety Engineer Jonathan Mercado and Chief Geologist Regie Selvano lead the mining and geological team as they begin to work diligently to rehabilitate the first 5 tunnels out of 21 tunnels that are known to be richer in gold deposits and reserves. Together with the members of the OROGAPCO “Minahang Bayan” they are fast tracking the stockpiling of gold ores so that as soon as the gold mill plant is ready, they will be able to process the initial test run next week. It is planned to have the mill plant to be operating in two shifts.

XYZ GOLD PROJECT -- Masbate

Vice-President and Public Relation Officer Ariel Caleon is finalizing the gathering and compiling of all the necessary data for the final submission of Pearl Asian’s Mineral Processing And Sharing Agreement Certification (MPSA). Documentations such as EXPAs application, SSMP, Right Of Way MOA, MPSA Application, Geological Studies and Chemical Lab Results.

“We believed and are looking forward to have our MPSA completed and certified within this month,” exclaimed VP Ariel Caleon.

BINASAN Gold Project -- Iligan City

Binasan Gold Project is now gearing up for the re-opening and start of the gold operation using a profit-sharing mechanism among the KAHIB – Indigenous Group of People, the Muslim brothers and sisters and the Pearl Asian Mining.
“It is a pleasure to see that Pearl Asian was able to assist in the empowerment of the KAHIB Higaonon people to become self motivated in tackling the job as the mining and geological operators in the Binasan Gold Project. Benic Mahunyag leads a team of Higaonon workers in repairing the damaged road. We are looking forward for an abundance of gold harvest beginning this month of September!” added President of Mindanao Operations Manolo Tecson.

Pearl Asian continues to hire expert mining engineers and geologists and workers from and around the island thus providing livelihood to the local community.

Pearl Asian Mining through its Poverty Alleviation Program “ORO -- Operation Reach Out" is extending its outreach programs by giving more relief goods, building school facilities, health clinics, sports activities and providing other livelihood for women particularly in the towns of Cancahorao, Mapina, Baleno, Masbate City, Libona, Bukidnon, Rogongon in Iligan City. The ORO Team is arriving to Masbate on the last week of September to extend the Pearl Asian Mining outreach projects to the impoverished people of the island.

Top Colleges

There is a material circulating among various e-groups that supposedly ranks the country’s top 20 colleges and universities based on a study conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Commission on Higher Education(CHED). The ranking supposedly used the average passing rate of graduates of colleges and universities in the board examinations of all courses that require it for the practice of a profession.

This study is now supposed to be done every 10 years. This particular ranking is supposedly the result of the first study from 1992 to 2001. Eleven schools come from Luzon, two from the Visayas and seven from Mindanao.

My problem with this material is that I am unable to confirm it independently. I checked the website of CHED and didn?t find it there. I tried sending an e-mail to CHED, to the address published in their website, but it bounced. Still, for whatever it may be worth, I want to share this list with a wider audience if only to provoke some discussion on where one could get quality college education in this country, given problems with education pre-need companies and family finances in general.

If the basis of this listing is authentic, it tells us that one need not spend a fortune in tuition and other fees of the so called exclusive schools in Metro Manila because there are a lot of good schools out there in the countryside. This is an important consideration for parents who live in the provinces and who are probably agonizing on whether to mortgage the family home to raise the funds needed to send a child to college in Manila.

The most expensive university in Metro Manila is not even in this list. So maybe, given the difficult financial situation today, sending the kids to study in Manila is not necessarily a good idea any more. There are good schools out in the regions. I also believe good students would do well anywhere provided they have a serious desire to get a good education. There is even one college on the list from Butuan that I have not heard of, and it did better than La Salle. The better Ateneo is in Davao, not at Loyola Heights.

Of course the top university in the list is UP Diliman, which makes me feel good. I am happy to note that contrary to what I hear in many circles, the quality of a UP education is still tops. Then again, the overall standards might have gone down too, but that’s another story.

So, here it is, but with the caveat that I decided to use it even without independent verification because of the urgency of helping parents who are making up their minds now, a few weeks before school opening time. The list sounds plausible enough.

1. University of the Philippines (Diliman Campus/Luzon);
2. University of the Philippines (Los Banos Campus/Luzon);
3. University of the Philippines (Manila Campus/Luzon);
4. Silliman University (Dumaguete City/Visayas);

I think the list is biased for UP. But I do agree UP is still one of the top schools in RP. My opinion is that either UP or DLSU should be on top. They offer the basic courses: engineering, arts&sciences, education, commerce, agriculture, etc... Ateneo de Manila has no standard engineering course (BSCE, BSChe, BSME, BSMEE). Schools should be ranked with certain criteria on the courses offered, additional points on PRC board exam peformance. With this, some schools will not be included in the ranking as some schools concentrate on one course only say BS Nursing, Medicine....University of Fatima (or is it Fatima College) for instance is doing well in the medicine/nursing field...but not in other courses.

That photo is the Sta. Filomena area. That industry along the shore is San Miguel Corporation Iligan Coconut Oil Mills. The area is more feasible to light commercial to residential. Kiwalan is where most industries are located. In urban planning, residential areas should not be located beside industrial zones (which is not always in RP). The Oil Mill is an old establishment. The most feasible site for high-rises in Iligan would still be the downtown area and Pryce Business Park.

UP is still the best (forgive me for my personal bias). In Iligan, MSU-IIT continues to produce high school grads who are good enough to enter UP (biased again). I believe that IDS belongs to the cream of the crop of the science high schools in the country.

still one of the top schools in RP. With this, some schools will not be included in the ranking as some schools concentrate on one course only say BS Nursing, Medicine....University of Fatima (or is it Fatima College) for instance is doing well in the medicine/nursing field...but not in other courses.[/QUOTE]

I think the list is biased for UP.
May I know why do you think the list is "biased for UP"? What did UP do or did not do that perhaps flipped the coin to its side? Do you not believe that UP deserved to be on the top of the list? Why not?

But I do agree UP is still one of the top schools in RP.
And what for you is the top of the top schools in RP?

My opinion is that either UP or DLSU should be on top.
Wait a minute. Did you not just say the list is biased for UP?

They offer the basic courses: engineering, arts&sciences, education, commerce, agriculture, etc... Ateneo de Manila has no standard engineering course (BSCE, BSChe, BSME, BSMEE). Schools should be ranked with certain criteria on the courses offered, additional points on PRC board exam peformance.
Can you summarize what for you are the best criteria for evaluating the standard of the schools?

With this, some schools will not be included in the ranking as some schools concentrate on one course only say BS Nursing, Medicine....University of Fatima (or is it Fatima College) for instance is doing well in the medicine/nursing field...but not in other courses.
We call them specialized schools.

really alingatong? Someone told me that the ground level of Gaisano Mall-Iligan would be opened to the public on December of this year. The reported owner (Stephen Gaisano from CdO) is rushing up the construction activity so it can serve the public consumers of iligan and its neighboring towns and cities come xmas break. Floors 2nd, 3rd and 4th would be opened on March the following year. The theaters would be operational in time of the day of hearts.

I thought the old color scheme was better. It's so much classier to look at too for a school which is run by nuns (conservative appeal). On second thoughts --they could have painted the exterior walls of the buildings with a lighter color combination. Dirty white comes in a variety of shades -- winter morning would be perfect for it with a lighter shade of mocha as accents. I just thought the new color scheme used (tera cotta) is too heavy to the eyes and is best used to color edifices with wide loans. Perhaps the one in St. Mary's, Tibanga would be perfect for heavy colors. I'm not complaining, btw. :)

Do we have pictures of La Salle Academy, guys? Post them away!

Napolcom cites best NorMin peace and order councils
by Rutchie Cbahug-Aguhob

Cagayan de Oro City (7 September) -- At least seven (7) Peace and Order Councils of Northern Mindanao have been declared winners in the Regional Search for the Best POC, Calendar Year 2006.

Regional Director Raquel Q. Ramos of the National Police Commission (Napolcom-10) said these POC's will represent Region 10 in the national 2006 Search for the Best POC.

Ramos, who is the Chairperson of the Search Committee in the region, said the Best Regional POC's are the following:

Bukidnon, 1st-3rd Class Province Category, Camiguin, 4th-6th Class Province Category, Iligan City, Highly Urbanized City Category and Malaybalay City, Component City Category.

Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, 1st-3rd Class Municipal Category and Kalilangan, Bukidnon and Naawan, Misamis Oriental, both in the 4th-6th Class Municipal Category.

A yearly undertaking, the Search for the Best POC is aimed at strengthening the POC's at various levels to ensure a more enhanced involvement, mutual assistance and coordination among all sectors of the community in the attainment of peace, law and order, public safety and security of the country.

It is also seeks to recognize POC's for their exemplary performance at all levels in their coordinating efforts for the delivery of services by government agencies and non-government organizations, institutionalize a system of providing incentives and provide role models for the other POC's to emulate in coordinating the implementation of peace, law and order, public safety and security programs and projects.

Criteria of the search include the following: Quality of Integrated Area/Community Public Safety Plan (ACPSP) based on the identified problems affecting peace and order and public safety in their area of responsibility.

Efficiency and Effectiveness of the POC Organization based o the degree of POC coordination with the other four (4) pillars of the Criminal Justice System, namely: Law Enforcement, Prosecution, Courts and Corrections that contributed to the successful implementation of the ACPSP.

Outcome of Plan Implementation based on the overall peace and order, public safety and security situation and on the major areas of concern that directly affects peace and order and public safety, such as, crime prevention and control and special concerns including those of counter-insurgency, fire prevention and suppression, disaster management and control and environmental enhancement.

Plaques of recognition for the Best POC's of the region were handed by Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri who was the guest of honor and speaker during the recent kick-off ceremony for this year's National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) held at the Mindanao Polytechnic State College (MPSC), this city. (PIA 10)

one thing they should do:
place Philippine Science High School - Central Mindanao Campus at Iligan and not at some lonely town in Balo-i
:D
It would not juz be accessible, not to mention safer, but also it'll have an economic impact on the city.

hm...
and hm...
if only IIT builds better facilities and expands the campus... that would be awesome
oh and yea... they Iligan should have a convention center and a cultural center (for the theatre arts and other things). that would not only place iligan on the map even more, but enhance it's demography. oh and one thing more: Iligan should have turning lanes! meaning at intersections, there a two lane round would become three with the middle one becoming an intersection. All that would need is some repainting. Ya can find out more about turning lanes but researching it at Google or whatever.

and oh yea...
sorry for not posting for some time now... been busy with vacation and then school work
anyways...
keep posting guys and thanks for the updates

Well for me, it's just temporary and that is not a busy road anyway.

TKC Steel says to seek SEC approval for additional offering

TKC Steel Corp. will formally seek regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday to sell additional shares to the public before the end of the year.

The company, which is engaged in the production of steel billet, earlier disclosed that it is eyeing to raise as much as P2.4 billion from the sale of 680 million shares in a follow-on offering.

TKC Steel has tapped First Metro Investment Corp. as underwriter for the offering.

After the follow-on offering, the company's public float will expand from five percent to 25 percent. TKC is 95-percent owned by the Tiu family, who also owns the Discovery hotel chain.

The company said it would use the offer proceeds to expand capacity and upgrade plants in both the Philippines and China.

Earlier, it reported a first-half income of P48.3 million versus P113,463 in the previous year. The higher net income was attributed mainly to its local subsidiary in Iligan City, Treasure Steelworks Corp. (TSC).

Gross revenues during the six-month period were better at P1.19 billion versus P58.52 million a year earlier, with TSC contributing P1.04 billion.

The company's China-based subsidiary, ZhangZhou Stronghold Steel Works Co. Ltd., for its part, delivered gross revenues of P66.71 million even though it only started commercial operations in the second quarter of the year. - Judith Balea

PAIM posts A 50% Earnings Growth in its 2nd Quarter Report; 60% Completion of Gango Gold Processing Plant, Pearl Asian Mining Announces

Former IR Officer Gary Gotanco is no longer connected with Pearl Asian Mining as of Sept. 3, 2007

MANILA, Philippines--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pearl Asian Mining Industries, Inc. with Stock SYMBOLS: U.S.A. (OTC common shares: PAIM)(OTC preferred shares: PAIMP); Germany (XETRA: R1Z.DE) and (Frankfurt: R1Z.F) announces that it just posted a 50% earnings growth for the 2nd Quarter of 2007 as compared to the 1st Quarter earnings, reported by the Chief Financial Officer Arnel Morilla. PAIM is optimistic that by the end of the 3rd Quarter and beyond, we will be able to show some substantial increase in our gold harvest, with another increased growth earnings, attributed by the opening of the Gango Gold Rush Project in Bukidnon, the re-opening of the Binasan Gold Project in Iligan City and perhaps the opening up of the XYZ Gold Project in 2008.

The new Gold Team members of the Gango Gold Rush and the OROGAPCO group have been working very diligently, despite of some heavy rains and other setbacks. The team is determined in completing the gold processing plant and now in its 60% completion as led by PAIM’s experienced Chief Mechanical Engineer Gil Salutim and Chairman Francisco of OROGAPCO. Engr. Salutim is very optimistic that on Sept. 20th the gold mill plant will be fully operational.

Meanwhile, “Increasing the manpower and by hiring additional mining engineers, enables the fast tracking and the rehabilitation of the first five existing tunnels, thus increases the number of stockpiles of gold ores to be fed into the gold processing plant for its first test run on Sept. 20th,” asserted Chief Mining Officer Cesar Rosales.

Lastly, Pearl Asian Mining announces that former Investor Relation Officer Gary Gotanco is no longer connected with the company as of Sept. 3, 2007. It was also informed that somehow a mysterious Marian Arroyo Escudero has been sending e-mails and messages to PAIM employees and various shareholders with false allegations against PAIM and posting derogatory information to undermine the integrity of Pearl Asian Mining. “Our legal counsel in cooperation with the Philippines’ National Bureau Of Investigations (NBI) are working in determining the true identity of this mysterious person(s) who is trying to destroy and undermine the company, as we, the Pearl Asian Mining Industries, Inc. continues to grow by leaps and bounds, to expand and soon to become a large operational gold mining company in the Philippines,” added Executive President Randolf Villanueva.

Naah. Somebody from the web development team told me that the new website of Iligan will probably be on-line on Friday, September 14. Let's just wait and see.

@Mr. Loloy, don't worry. They're already informed about this "dahon" thing and will trim them soon. Another thing, a camera will be setup at the vicinity or maybe inside the St. Michael Cathedral for the upcoming "Pagpakanaug" on Sept. 20. Am sure, this camera wil be online on the net for Iliganons worldwide to witness this big event live. :)

@tough, Hoyohoy Grills & Seafoods is located near the Centennial Park in Dalipuga.
