ganun ba, sana bigyan din nila ng decent relocation ang mga matatanggal na bahay sa triangulo and yung barangay hall dapat managot ang kapitan na nagpatayo nyan, alam nya PNR property yan tapos pinatayo nya pa, sayang ang ginastos na pera ng taong-bayan.
And yung worker sa solis station, wag naman sana nila babuyin ang station:bash: . dun naman sila pumorma sa likod na hindi masyado halata.:)

buti na lang hindi ka tinuluyan na katayin sa lugar ng traingulo. same image din ng triangulo sa naga, kinatatakutan din, mahirap pumasok sa area, baka hindi ka na makalabas ng walang latay ang katawan. :ohno:
kapag nalinis ang pnr ROW magbabago na rin ang image ng mga lugar na ganito.

You can really see the raised embankment and ditch at the center of the track, brand new heavier rails with concrete sleepers, raised and new platform station with completely eliminated IS.

^^May tama ka dyan Sir WoS. Nakita ko ang pag gawa nila ng riles dyan. Hinukay muna bago tinambakan ng ballast then tsaka inilagay ang riles then tambak ulit ng ballast. Tapos nun tsaka palang na tamper.
Kaso di lahat ng squatters ay naalis na. Karamihan sa mga natitirang squatters ay mga gawa sa konkreto at minsan ay hanggang 4th floor pa. :ohno:

Malinaw lang ang mata pag may papasok na pera sa bulsa.

Hindi talaga sha gi sheet per se, siguro nga yung sinasabi mong tin plate. Ikaw insider so mas alam mo :D Pero ok na din. Kahit batuhin pa yan, hindi na masisira. Dimple nga lang ang pinto ng mga DMU.

Rail is the future.
In 1950's or 1960's, people thought that cars were going to replace rail as the main mode of transport.
Now in 2010, more countries are improving their rail system.
It is just a matter of time and priority :)

Your absolutely right. Like here in the middle east they have laid out the blueprints for the unified gulf railway network and this region has the money and its now that they've realized the importance of a rail network. People here relied on road network and vehicles but now they've found out that its not that lucrative and not environment friendly for transporting goods and passengers.
The only problem in our country is the lack of funding and political will to implement these grand plans that started decades ago. I hope that the private sector would intervene perhaps and invest. I don't know if my suggestions is good for our railway. As far as I can see. The way our government handles our infra projects. Would probably be finished for centuries in their slow pace. Or worst you can't even see the project's light of day.

Mr Suchai said the double track project not only involves laying a second track running parallel to the existing track but also strengthening the existing track so trains can travel at speeds of up to 180 kilometres an hour.

North to south, Thai border to near Singapore border, it will be linked with electrified rail line. Now Thailand is doing the same thing, one day, maybe Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur would be connected by electrified track. Final stretch, Gemas-JB should start soon.

I've been doodling sketches of PNR's train station and grand station since I've browsed through the railway threads and saw its developments here in SSC. This would eventually be profitable if converted to micro malls or stalls wherein there would be heavy traffic in that area. Calling Mr. Sy and the tycoon real estates of our country it's about time. Then the government or PNR would garner income from the lease for track and car maintenance and for further enhancement to our railways and it's fleet. The masses have'nt realized the benefits of having a railway system, for it haven't touched its services through the remote areas. Then they would realize the benefits and the reability of PNR to their day to day lives.

STATE-OWNED Philippine National Railways (PNR) yesterday inaugurated new train coaches and railroad tracks as a result of a $59-million upgrade.
Railway officials also inked a deal to build a highway over railroad tracks to connect Luzon’s two main expressways at the cost of P16 billion, and agreements with mall operators for commercial spaces in train stations.
Manuel D. Andal, PNR general manager, said the rehabilitation project was funded through a loan facility with Korean Export-Import Bank.
Six new trains were purchased for this project, while three were refurbished. Three more will be delivered next month.
Mr. Andal said operations start today with just two rounds, in the morning and in the afternoon.
"We are still in the trial period. We’ll study first the cost of operations so we can come up with fare schedule. For the meantime, we will follow the old fares that start at P12," Mr. Andal added.
"We are expecting over 100,000 passengers everyday in our first year and we target to reach around a million each day in the next few years."
Alongside with the inauguration was the signing of agreements with private investors.
The construction of a highway connecting North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) over the PNR’s right of way will be in partnership with Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.
"The road construction alone between Buendia station and C-3 station will cost around P16 billion," Ramoncito S. Fernandez, Metro Pacific Tollways president and chief executive officer, told reporters.
Rodrigo E. Franco, president and CEO of Manila North Tollways Corp., said the total length of the connecting highway will be 13.24 kilometers.
Mr. Fernandez also said P4 billion would be allocated for road construction from the C-3 Road train station to Valenzuela, bringing the total investment to P20 billion in a period of two to three years.
A deal was also signed yesterday with SM Investments Corp. and S. T. Best, Inc, an affiliate of SM Group, for the takeover of train stations to build station malls.
Riqui Raymundo-Hizon, president of S. T. Best, said almost all stations from Caloocan to Alabang will have station malls using the PNR property.
"Small station malls will be built by S. T. Best and the major ones will be by SM. We still don’t have any particular amount allocated for this project but whatever it needs, we’ll come up with it," Ms. Raymundo-Hizon said.
Two other deals include a partnership with Lacosta Development for a fiber-optic project on the right of way of PNR, and with Railways and Industrial Heritage Society of the Philippines, Inc. for a museum at the old Paco Station.

A friend invited me to visit Singaore to document the Tanjong pagar railway station and to ride one of the last train from the said station to Malaysia. Singapore and Malaysia will move the terminus to Bukit Timah. Sayang!

People here relied on road network and vehicles but now they've found out that its not that lucrative and not environment friendly for transporting goods and passengers.
The only problem in our country is the lack of funding and political will to implement these grand plans that started decades ago. I hope that the private sector would intervene perhaps and invest. I don't know if my suggestions is good for our railway. As far as I can see. The way our government handles our infra projects. Would probably be finished for centuries in their slow pace. Or worst you can't even see the project's light of day.

In the absence of resources, public-private partnership is the way to go for developing large project, both sharing the risk.
In Thailand, they are planning to double track existing line and strengthen it to allow 180 km/h operation.

First and foremost, you need vision, from there, plan how to execute it.
Train services in the Philippines, IMO, would be very profitable, be it in passenger or freight.
For me, one of the biggest problem besetting the PNR is the humongous amount of informal settlers/ business establishments/other structures in its ROW. No investor in his right mind would take over the privatization of PNR with the presence of these structures occupying the ROW. Also, with a stupid Lina Law habitually abused by squatters, resettling these people has a lot of political considerations, especially during election time.

I was able to ride the Lambaian Timur one time from Johor Bahru to Singapore, and I notice that although Tanjong Pagar is old and tired, it is a very stately station. Hopefully they'll keep the station; Singapore can always reopen Bukit Timah for passenger traffic, as the area is underserved by the MRT. The WTCP is very poorly served by Singaporean public transportation, unlike the Sultan Iskandar checkpoint in Johor Bahru.

Sa tingin ko naman may point din sya, but we all know na dito sa forum na ito we encourage na maging positive thinker tayo. Sa totoo lang kasi wala naman din akong magagawa kundi magbigay ng moral support sa PNR. Wala naman akong money, talent or time para tumulong. Kaya ko lang magbayad ng pamasahe, sumakay ng tren at siyempre sumali sa mga heritage group tulad ng Rhispi.
Pero lahat ng bagay na nakikita natin ngayon, at nahahawakan ay nagmula sa isip lamang. Naniniwala ako na kaya nagkaron ng pagbabago sa PNR ay dahil sa mga naiisip natin at marahil may mga taong ipinagdadasal din ang development nito. Ten years ago akala ko ako lang ang nagiisang railfan sa Pinas. Madami pala tayo. Kaya dun sa mga wala nang hope, cheer up.

Para sa akin, ang pagpapaunlad ng mga probinsya at rehiyong malalayo sa Maynila ang dapat isagawa ng gobyerno para mabawasan ang pagdagsa ng mga kababayan natin mula probinsya at maging IS lang dito.
at paano ito maisasakatuparan? RILES at tanging riles na magdudgtong sa Metro Manila sa mga kanayunan.

Marami nang naging positibo ang kaisipan simula nang dumating ang mga bagong DMU noong nakaraang taon, lalo na ng maisaayos ang mga dating bulok na istasyon ng PNR. Pero kahit ilang bullet o maglev train pa siguro ang dumating sa atin, may ilang tao pa rin siguro ang baluktot ang pag-iisip tungkol sa ating riles. Mas maganda ay wag na lang pansinin ang mga ito.

We can only blame Marcos, Cory, Ramos and Erap for neglecting the railways of the country. At least, GMA started the rehabilitation. If you happen to see the new DMUs or the refurbished ones traveling in Makati, you will be delighted. I saw it twice by chance along Osmena Highway. It was a beautiful sight. Gone are the days of those dilapidated/old coaches.
I am more positive now that this new administration is pro-infrastructure. PROOF?

THE Aquino administration plans to double the Philippines’ infrastructure investments in the next six years by tapping the private sector, as well, according to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). Based on the agency’s input to the State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino 3rd, the new government will raise investments to a range of 25 percent to 28 percent of gross domestic product for the period 2011 to 2016, from the current 14 percent.:banana:
To achieve this, NEDA said the government will increase spending on public infrastructure through greater private sector participation.
NEDA said the government aims to modernize the transportation sector and the logistics system for efficient movement of goods and people.

THE Aquino administration plans to double the Philippines’ infrastructure investments in the next six years by tapping the private sector, as well, according to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). Based on the agency’s input to the State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino 3rd, the new government will raise investments to a range of 25 percent to 28 percent of gross domestic product for the period 2011 to 2016, from the current 14 percent.:banana:
To achieve this, NEDA said the government will increase spending on public infrastructure through greater private sector participation.
NEDA said the government aims to modernize the transportation sector and the logistics system for efficient movement of goods and people.

well at least my 3rd choice for president is focusing on INFRA and I hope substantial amount goes to railway devt not just in the metropolis but also in other metros in the country, and of course the provincial railway system must be revitalized (until ilocos - pre marcos era)
