Inspired by a similar post on the ChCh SSC forum (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=23054028&postcount=1), I reckon there's fertile ground here for Wellington.
I was going to call this thread SimCity Wellington Edition, but Erentz appears to have laid claim to that. Nevertheless, check out his proposals of what Wellington could be (http://simwgtn.blogspot.com/) (mostly transport related).
Can't draw? Then Google SketchUp (http://sketchup.google.com/) is a good starting point- and it's free too. It's also got a screen capture function for Google Earth which makes things easier.
