Well, I should just be honest, right?

I love the vernacular Malay element at the base, but otherwise this building is just ugly. I've seen it photographed from many angles, remember when it was built and I just can't stomach it.

It starts off great with the broad base angling up but gets lost in the homogenous, 60's looking crap of the shaft and top. Maybe I have to see it in person. There are many buildings I admire in KL, this one takes away from the skyline IMO. 5/10

Please obscure it with other talls.:D

I saw this building in 1998, and I liked the leafy shelter the descending canopy provided at the base, and the angular top. 8.5/10.

I like this one because you can't confuse it with anything else in the world really. It has its own identity.. Although, I'm too much of a fan of white on a skyscraper. ->9/10

4.5 - I can't for the life of me say why, but this just doesn't impress me that much. The entrance and the area around it are nice - thanks for pointing out the Malay influence, Enzo - especially the trees - is there a plaza or something like that right around the entrance? It sure looks more pleasant than a lot of the modernist plazas here in the States

the base is nice and how the top comes into a triangular shape is great but that stubby little box on top just ruins the design overall..they should have added spires to the top to enhance it...6/10.

Not so subtle but not a brute either....I seem to like buildings with a base shaped like that. The company-logo near the top doesn't fit in well.

It's ok. It is easily recognizable and has an interesting shape. Not the greatest in KL though. 7/10

I saw this one in Jan 2003
walked around it base its gotta be 1 of my favourite builidng in KL not only for KL but from that era over all
Going to have to revist next time in KL

The white column with that blacky color glass makes it looks more original and the top looks great!...That hugh and over sized base is unexceptable for this strucuture......7.5/10

I dont like it. EWW. I gave it a 3 or below.

9.5 ......This is one of the first skyscraper that I liked.......If you see it in person....the shape kinda intrigues you......the building looks different in different angle.

This building are designed in such a way as its shape is suppoed to mimic that of a 'Keris' - A Malay dagger. Hijjas Kasturi's Menara Telekom is his latest mimic of this style......

The base is the best part with clean and nice public plaza and lotsa landscaping and greenery. Also there is a huge banking hall at one of the sloping sides, and art gallery and a money museum.

One of the feature I liked best is the sloping entrance with traditional-styled overlapping Malay roof.

oh yea......one of the reason why it didn't tapers up till it gets pointy and no spire is because of the tall building regulations then. In 1980, a nearby banking HQ - a tall skyscraper was on fire on one of the top floors and the helicopter rescue was a great success. Thus there is a regulation then that all tall buildings to have helipads. ;)

Fortunately......this was deregulated in the 90s......:D

I do not like very much the design of the building, 7,5/10

if the base doesn't fan out that much, it would of been really awesome, but in its current state it looks somewhat squat... but the signature roof rocks!

What a nice building, very striking. Seems huge, and I like the strong vertical striping, as well as the nice lower part and the intriguing geometry. The triangles on top are nice, but not good enough to get full marks, in my opinion.

Very nice design, but the final product is kind of ugly. I give it a 7.5/10.

The base is very special, and the shape was a nice idea. The design didn't age too much, but the way the lift core is integrated at the top is really not so nice. Could have been much better. It also lacks some elegance from being so massive.

My favorite building in KL. I love this design. I like how it looks lke two towers that collided and fused together. Or it could look like one tower trying to seperate from itself. Anyway you look at it, it is interesting. And the facade is high quality.
