Let's see how this will compare with the results released by Ipsos Reid & The Vancouver Sun...

well, i'm sure the small sample size here may make this informal survey incomparable to large-ish ones by ipsos-reid.

i'm really up in the air this election (though I do have membership to a political party) but think the Liberals are getting my vote. Before people heckle, it was more about the individual candidate than party.

i have to admit that this time around, i have nooooo idea who to vote for. i think they all suck. nonetheless, i am glad the greens are now in the debate (even though i would never vote for them....again)

too bad the dance party party isn't federal

Conservative, because BC always goes the opposite way as the other provinces.

Hard to tell. It really depends on the part of BC.
For easy reference I always think of three areas...........Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and the Interior.

I think VI will get a lot of NDP votes, the Lower Mainland spit between the Con, Lib, NDP, and the Interior mostly Conservative.
Of Canada big 3 cities, the GVRD is the area with the most Conservative voters. In the cities of Toronto{2.6 mil} and Montreal{1.8mil} the Conservatives got no seats. That
said it will be
hard to tell also as the federal NDP is gaining strength along with the provincial NDP in the province.

Another issue which is a new one for all of Canada is the Green Party. Finally in the debate and now considered a force to be rekoned with.

As far as I'm considered the party that will decide the election is the Greens. If they do well in the overall vote they will skim votes from the Lib, NDP and help the Conservatives by splitting the left of centre vote. On the other hand if the Green party support is strong but its possible that they will not vote Green but rather strategically. A strategic vote for Green supporters would mostly go to the Liberals. They want a strong enviornmental policy and a green economy but they know that if they split the vote the Conservatives will get in so they will bite their lip and vote for Dion. They appreciate Dion's green platform and shudder at the thought of getting a conservative, brown, Harper-led government.

This has been happening to the NDP for years. They never seem to get that "break-thru" vote that they keep talking about where they REALLY become a power house or potential official opposition. Many who show their support don't actually vote them. They vote Liberal being to afraid to split the left-of-centre vote and thereby letting the Conservative in by default.

We have 3 national {and another in Quebec} left-of-centre parties and only one Conservative one. The Conservatives have been sitting at 35%-38% support which will fluctuate. That leaves 65%-62% left up for grabs. Of course the Conservatives have the problem of that number being squewed by riding at 60% in Alberta.

If people vote with their heart, the Conservatives will get a minority but if they vote strategically with the "anybody but Harper" view then the Liberals will get in.

Its going to be a very interesting election.

"Anybody but Harper" means Dion is our Prime Minister...

i'D RATHER HAVE A MILD MANNERED LEADER WITH GOOD POLICIES WHO IS HONEST, TRUSTEWORTHY, AND i THINK A GENERALLY VERY DECENT MAN THAN A STRONG LEADER WHO IS AS ARROGANT, DICTOTORIAL, WITH A REGRESSIVE SOCIAL, ENVIORNMENTAL, POLITICAL MINDSET.

WHO IS HONEST, TRUSTEWORTHY.

All Politicians are liars. The only difference between them is some are better liars than the others.

Stephen Harper for the president of the United States of Canada!!!

:P

Surely we can prevent the same mistakes the Americans have made by voting in Bush, unless we just want a puppet to the States running our country. Democrats + Liberals or NDP FTW!

Well people have got to do something to avoid another Harper win, my riding here is looking fairly safe for the NDP so they're who I'll be voting for. We can at least keep the cons to a minority while still voting conscientiously.
