bad news for Zamboanga. Is it because P-noy won 2nd only in the last election here in the city?
^^I'm sure may gumawa ng paraan para di makaupo si Celso as Chairman lam mo nman kahit binoto pa sya ng mga mayors ng Zambo peninsula may nag manipulate yan kaya nag choose sila sa Mayor ng Dipolog...tingnan mo nman ung Politics daming sipsip...ehh lahat naman ng Mayors ng Zamboanga peninsula didnt Campaign for PNOY....taz im sure ung sa mga executive yan ni PNOY ang may kinalaman...pero its not bad nman para sa Zamboanga...
Egg yung ibang tao kasi dito sa zamboanga binoto pa si Estrada kaya tuloy...just like before kung binoto lng si Madam PGMA and number 1 sya dito mananatili ang Regional offices dito kaso yan...pati si Celso di nman sya sure sinu ung kakampihan niya during election...so its not nman the reason para gumuho ang pag asas ng Zamboanga...
Just refer to my signature. The first 3 are our journey (not necessarily destiny). The last line maybe a wild dream which is a threat to those crabbies who'd never think of anything but downgrade La Bella Ciudad. But what's happening to the RDC-IX leadership only shows that the national gov't doesn't want ZAMPEN to grow in the pace of ZC. In fact it is an attempt to put ZC down. Not to discredit the new RDC-IX chairman's ability, but it must have been be very different if Celso did chair RDC-IX since the first time he was voted by the majority of ZAMPEN mayors nine years ago. This is already the third time that ZAMPEN has been deprived of Celso's leadership - deprived because it was and is against the will of the majority.:bash::bash:
windlady December 12th, 2010, 02:39 PM Ito yung approximate size ng bagong gated community na under construction sa Boalan. Kasama na dun sa lupa eh yung Inland Resort and Hotel complex. Yung blue rectangle (Inland hotel building) nalang yung natitira ngayong nakatayo dun. Ewan ko kung idedemolish nila yun.

Propositions about Zamboangueño Party-List
Por Guillermo Gómez Rivera
Academia Filipina de la Lengua
Correspondiente de la R. A. E.

Queridos amigos:
Por el Sr.Andreas Herbig, he leido (I have read) sobre (about) las investigaciones del Dr. Sonie Sicat y los Sres.Alfredo y Armando; el "Centro de estnario chavacano" (What is estnario?), "Zamboanga City's own heritage Foundation",y otras instituciones y personas interesadas en la defensa de los idiomas Chavacano y Español.
Y mi comentario es:
(1)There must be a political dimension to this matter.
Este PARTY-LIST podría luego enviar (can send) un representante a la Legislatura Filipina y desde allí luchar (struggle)por la cabal (proper) adjudicación de créditos en unidades(credits in units) a la enseñanza (to the teaching) del idioma español en la secundaria (high school) y en el colegiado (college) tal como lo tiene provisto (as it is provided for)la misma constitución filipina de 1987 en su sección 7, Artículo XIV (Spanish and Arabic shall be promoted on an optional and voluntary basis;---,the phrase "shall be promoted" is interpreted by the Supreme Court as "SHALL BE TAUGHT" (DEBE ENSEÑARSE) per its Resolution dated 28 January, 1988,on G.R. No. 78436).
(2)All Zamboangueños and all Spanish-speaking Filipinos should rally all the Tagalog speaking Filipinos, along with those who are Visayan (Cebuano, Ilongo, Sinamar-Leyteño, Cuyunin ang Aclan), to object to the ramming into Tagalog of the entire English Alphabet along with its syllabication and spelling because it is turning Tagalog, (the Basis of Filipino), along with all our major native languages into vile pidgins of English. We will all sound very soon as Papua New Guinea, as the New Hebridans, as the Solomones whose native languages have been destroyed by the imposition in them of the anti-phonetic English alphabet. Teach the English alphabet in classes of the English language. Do not teach it in Filipino language classes. This is a crime against our own people!
All our native languages, including Chavacano, are not pidgin languages because they already have their own grammar system and their own literature and correct forms of usage. To subject all of them, through the national language called Filipino, to the unphonetic English Alphabet is not only to "pidginize them" but actually debase and destroy them in the most deliberately reacherous manner. All our native languages follow the rule: Kung ano ang bigkas, siya ang súlat, at, kung anó ang súlat, siya rin ang bigkas. What is said is written as it is said and what is written is said as it is written).
A (ah), B (be), C (se), Ch (se-atse), D (de), E (eh), F (ephe), G (he), H (atse), I (ih), J (hota), K (ka), L (ele), LL (elye), M (eme), N (ene), NG (nang), Ñ (enye), ÑG (ñga), O (oh), P (pe), Q (ku), R (ere),RR (er-re), S (ese), T (te), U (uh), V (ve), W (wa), X (ekis), Ya (o, i griega o ye), Z (seta).
Saludos.

bad news for Zamboanga. Is it because P-noy won 2nd only in the last election here in the city?
The mayors may have backed Celso for the RDC chairmanship but do note that the congressmen behind Pnoy are more influencial. By the way, just because the mayor of Dipolog got the chair doesn't mean Zambo. city will be left out. RDC will convene and set priorities. It's up to the politicos to lobby their respective agenda and they will agree amongst them. Let's see what's the program first before we prematurely see whats being biased or not. Thanks

Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn Uy is the only RDC chairmanship candidate who ran under the Liberal Party in the May 2010 elections. There's obviously a political reason behind her appointment. Even though, as what you said, Zamboanga won't be left out, it's still unfair for the palace to appoint somebody just because she's a political ally.

Haha. Yey! It's time to celebrate! Nice to know that the CITY HALL itself announced Robinsons' entry in Zamboanga City. And ofcourse they specified a date for the construction of the mall, 2011! Watch out! Zamboanga City is catching up!
As what Sir Xzibit said a few days ago, we will also be expecting an SM Mall in 2012 or 2013. :colgate: We really are catching up in the mall frenzy happening throughout Mindanao. :okay:

sternocleidomastoid December 14th, 2010, 12:21 PM I think Robinsons will eventually be "allowed" to purchase the lot of Waltac Commodity Exchange. You see, Waltac is more like a community grocery, and behind it will be a humongous supermarket that is in Robinsons Mall. It will be a major struggle for Waltac to survive a big competition against Robinsons which will eventually lead to Waltac's defeat and eventual closure. After that, Waltac will sell its property to Robinsons, and POOF! another room for the expansion for RLC. I hope EMCOR and that Safety lot will be sold to Robinsons too. Besides, Emcor and Safety can easily find spaces in the city that fit their needs since they only need a small piece of land to start up their businesses.

I heard about that too. My uncle told my mom about it just recently. But he said that it will be built across Golden Haven and not beside it. But I guess it's more likely going to be constructed beside Golden Haven since there's a vast lot there that's very much suitable for a gated community.

BSP approves ‘Banco cooperativa de Zamboanga’
Fifteen (15) multi-purpose cooperatives actively operating in Zamboanga are finalizing plans for the construction of the Banco Cooperativa de Zamboanga, following the approval of their application by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
As this developed, Congresswoman Beng Climaco-Salazar who supported the move since its initial stage some 15 years ago, has committed to continue support to ensure the success of the operation of the coop bank.
A strong believer of the cooperative movement, Cong. Climaco said opening of the bank to be jointly run by the 15 cooperative associations will further boost the movement and will maximize assistance to many people who need help.
The BSP’s Monetary board in resolution 1698 dated November 25, 2010 approved the application for authority to establish a cooperative bank in the city. The 15 cooperatives initiating the move has to comply with some conditions, among which are to submit within 60 days from receipt of notice of approval the articles of cooperation and by-laws; treasurer’s sworn statement and proof of deposit with the Land Bank of the Philippines where the paid-in capital of P10 million is available; within 30 days after the BSP has issued the certificate of authority to register the articles of cooperation and by-laws, the organizers shall effect the file/register said documents with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA); within 8 months from receipt of notice of Monetary Board, complete the construction/ repairs and furnishings of the Banco Cooperativa Zamboanga building, effect and complete training of officers and employees of the bank and several others.
The Banco Cooperativa de Zamboanga is also expected to develop and implement a compliance system and appoint a compliance officer/ internal auditor upon the start of the banking operation.
Nine authorized representatives of the organizing cooperatives were appointed by the BSP as members of the Board of Directors: Mary Aidith Jabagat, Eleonor Santiago, Antonio Clarito, Bernardita Chiong, Edmund Que, Lida Rose Baylon, Monina Palce, Amelita Lachica and Arcadio Cayap Jr.
On behalf of the different cooperatives, Lachica, interim chairman of the Banco Cooperativa de Zamboanga, thanked Congresswoman Climaco and Mayor Celso Lobregat and all other people and agencies that supported the group in the realization of the project.
Others who supported the cooperators are Land Bank-CENRO branch manager Augusto Galoso, Land Bank account specialist Eulogio Nortiga Jr., CDA-9 director Anacleto Tumapon, the 15 cooperators, different cooperatives, BSP-Manila officials who conducted the inspection and Arturo Cabidog of the City Legal Office.
The 15 cooperators, their positions and the cooperatives they represent are the following: Lachica (interim board chair) of the Zamboanga Social Welfare and Development Multi-purpose Cooperative (ZAMSOWEDCO); Edmund Que (interim vice chair) of the PPA Employees MPC; Eleonor Santiago (member) of the Micro-Entrepreneur MPC-MEMPCO; Aldit Jabagat (member) of the People’s Micro-finance MPC; Bernardita Chiong (member) of the Office of the City General Services Office of Familyand Friends MPC; Antonio Clarito(member) of the PNP Rainbow MPC; Lida Rose Baylon (member) of the Zamboanga City Community MPC; Arcadio Cavan Jr. (member) of the Office of the City Veterinarian Employees MPC; Monina Palce (member) of the Philpost-9 Credit Cooperative; Rashina Mendoza (cooperator) of the Office of Civil Registrar’s Office; Melinda Bascar (cooperator) of the Tumaga Elementary School Teachers’ Cooperative; Helen Balajula (cooperator) of the Recodo Integrated Workers’ MPC; Zerlita Paltos (cooperator) of the Zamboanga Peninsula Teachers and Community MPC; Cristina Tortola (cooperator) of the City Human Resource Management MPC and Ma. mrboy December 15th, 2010, 08:37 AM Regional Development Agenda Zamboanga Peninsula (Region IX)
F. ROLES OF PROVINCES AND CITIES
ZamPen’s provinces and cities hold key positions and major roles in the region’s
development scenario. As such, they should be accorded with proper attention and relevant interventions to deepen their contribution to regional and national development.
Zamboanga City, as “Asia’s Latin City”, will have to accelerate its growth as the commercial, industrial, financial and educational center of the region. As host to the only free port in Mindanao, and a new international quality standard airport, it will serve as the region’s main gateway to Southeast Asia and the rest of the world. It should also maintain its reputation as the biggest manufacturer and exporter of canned sardines in the country. It hosts the 16,000-hectare Zamboanga Economic Zone.
Pagadian City, also known as the “Little Hong Kong of the South” because of itshilly landscape, should assert itself as the regional administrative seat of government. With an upgraded airport and refurbished seaport, it will be the region’s closest link to the rest of Mindanao. It is the westernmost tip of the Zamboanga-Ipil-Pagadian Development Corridor.
Dipolog and Dapitan Cities comprise the tourist belt of the region; thus with the Dipolog City Airport and Pulauan Port in Dapitan City, they will serve as main entry points of tourists to in the region, as well as, its nearest link to Visayas and Luzon. Both cities are major banana producers of the Peninsula. Dipolog, otherwise known as the “Orchid City”, will remain as the Bottled Sardines Capital of the country. Dapitan City, being host to Jose Rizal’s home of exile is also known as the “Shrine City”, and will flourish as a major tourist city of the region.
Isabela City should strengthen its role as a major producer of commercial crops such as rubber and coconut, in addition to commercial and municipal fishing.
Zamboanga del Norte will remain as a major coco oil milling center, major
exporter of coco-oil, and key producer and processor of seaweeds and mango. It is host to the Dapitan-Dipolog-Polanco-Katipunan-Roxas-Manukan Industrial Growth Center, and the Provincial Agri-Industrial Center.
Zamboanga del Sur is the major food production center and leading supplier of
fishery products in the region. It should build up its role as a major producer of seaweeds and aquaculture products in the country.
Zamboanga Sibugay/Ipil is a major producer and exporter of raw rubber, rice,
marine and aqua-culture products. Ipil, as its major growth center, will serve as the central conduit of the different provinces and cities within the region. In addition, it will establish itself as the largest calamansi producer of the region.

paso December 15th, 2010, 08:48 AM It is expected that the volume of cargoes and passenger traffic in the present
Zamboanga International Airport will continuously increase being the sole international
point of entry in the region. A new site will be developed to ensure that efficient delivery
of international and domestic flights will be adequately served. Meantime, the current
airport will still be maintained pending the completion of the new airport preferably
located outside of the central business district
- NEDA IX
paso December 15th, 2010, 08:53 AM Development of an integrated linkage. Completion of all major road networks
in Zamboanga Peninsula - Zamboanga West Coast Road Project, Dapitan-Dakak Road
Project, Dipolog – Pagadian Road Project, and Zamboanga By-pass Road Project,
among others; upgrading of major seaports and modernization of port handling facilities;
construction of a new international standard Zamboanga International Airport, upgrading
of current Zamboanga International Airport facilities, Dipolog and Pagadian City
Airports; construction of feeder airports in Zamboanga Peninsula such as in Ipil and
Liloy; support for the construction of a Mindanao Railway System; provide roll-on/roll-off

Out of the 43, seven were on their third term.
House recognition
They were recognized by the House leadership during their Christmas party on December 14 and given a pen as token of appreciation, Belmonte said in his weekly press conference on Thursday.
He said at least 218 House members are present in the plenary during sessions.
He refused to name the House members who are habitual absentees.
Belmonte was satisfied with the current performance of the House.
“Maganda ang aura ng Congress na ito. At saka isa pa so many new faces here, hindi yung tired, old faces ang nakikita ng publiko. Yung faces with new ideas are coming to the fore and all of them contribute to the general image of Congress," he said.
In his message when they adjourned the session on Tuesday, Belmonte lauded the support of his colleagues, both from the administration and opposition in passing vital pieces of legislation, including General Appropriations Bill (GAB) 2011.
“Each of us has been ushered into this Chamber by our constituency not only hopeful but expectant of change. Our performance since July evinces our collective will to fulfill our people's high expectations," he said.
“After 45 session days, we have sustained our sterling attendance record. Since our organization, this chamber as well as its committees has actively functioned," Belmonte said.
"To date, we are in receipt of more than 4,600 measures consisting of more than 3,800 bills and close to 800 resolutions," he said.
"Of this number, we have already approved 20 bills on third reading and another 5 bills of national significance on second reading. Our various committees have also produced 425 committee reports," he added.
Aside from the ratification of the national budget, the House also concurred with Proclamation No. 75 which grants amnesty to mutineers.
“Our legislative action thus far has been marked not only by deliberate speed and decisiveness, but also by integrity and conviction," Belmonte said.
Indeed, I am most proud to preside over this House whose current membership has exhibited great courage to vote more on principle and less on political expediency, and whose actions have restored statesmanship amongst us," Belmonte added.
“The quality of plenary deliberations has also dramatically risen. The impeachment complaint against the Ombudsman sparked heated arguments and debates - whether for or against - which brought many of our members out of the closet," he said. – VVP, GMANews.TV

Tama! SM by 2012 or 2013 pa daw. :)
Maganda sana 'yung plan nila kasi city within a city yung concept -- may hotel, retirement village, and mala-greenbelt na area kaso natakot sa SM :D.
Yung Robinsons dito yung may mall at hotel. Wala pa kaming idea sa ibang malls. :)
