theres a difference between being nega and being realistic..pag aralan mo ang difference nyan! So shall we expect a Robinsons mall sa zambo by 2009 dahil lang sa pag open ng Robinsons bank?

Zambo airport to resume 24-hour operations

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec. 19 (PNA) -– The Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) will soon be back to 24-hour operations to accommodate in-bound and out-bound planes, according to local Air Transportation Office (ATO) Manager Celso Bayabos.

He said he has ordered the immediate installation of the approach landing bulbs donated by the United States Joint Special Operation Task Force-Philippines (JSOTF-P) headed by Col. William Coultrup.

Accompanied by two JSOTF-P pilots, Coultrup handed over on Monday the bulbs to Bayabos in the presence of Chief of Air Navigation Systems Felipe Carpio.

The JSOTF-P spent P1.6 million or roughly $ 35,000 in purchasing the approach landing bulbs.

Since 2005, ZIA has been operating only on daytime after unscrupulous people stole all of the bulbs of the approach landing lights installed at the Centro Pastoral Compound along Gov. Camins Ave. in this city.

The approach landing lights serve as guides to pilots of in-bound planes in touching down on the runway of an airport at nighttime.

Coultrup said the donation of the bulbs for the landing lights is a gesture of JSOTF-P gratitude to the local ATO since they are also using the airport.

Two more days and I’ll be flying back to Manila. There was rejoicing last Tuesday discovering a 4 kilometer stretch of pink sand, corals and more, snorkeled along the reef and was doing lots of whacking just 15 minutes away from laidback Zamboanga. I caught myself enjoying the sun and the sand, including the bizarre, but typical, moment at which I went from a happy laughing face to dramatic contortion and fussy grumpiness, for no apparent reason.

Parties almost every night with friends and family etc. I’ll definitely miss La Bella Zamboanga. Sharing photos from my archives. More about my trip here: www.bluestain.blogspot.com

There was rejoicing last Tuesday discovering a 4 kilometer stretch of pink sand, corals and more, snorkeled along the reef and was doing lots of whacking just 15 minutes away from laidback Zamboanga. I caught myself enjoying the sun and the sand, including the bizarre, but typical, moment at which I went from a happy laughing face to dramatic contortion and fussy grumpiness, for no apparent reason.

Parties almost every night with friends and family etc. I’ll definitely miss La Bella Zamboanga. Sharing photos from my archives. More about my trip here: www.bluestain.blogspot.com

^^by the way di nman ata aalis ung KFC jan kc okie nman ung Sales nila...ung location lng tlga and sana di ganyan ung mall niya sana 2lad ng nasa Davao ung CHIMES Mall (ba un?) and ung sa Cebu Park Mall sana ganun ginawa ng Owner ng Midtown....:)

Di naman aalis basta basta yung KFC sa Midtown. Baka sa ex-loc ng Z-Beryani Siguro o magkatabi yung Shakey's sa KFC. This is the third time na ang Shakey's magkakaroon ng branch sa Zambo. Two more days and I’ll be flying back to Manila. There was rejoicing last Tuesday discovering a 4 kilometer stretch of pink sand, corals and more, snorkeled along the reef and was doing lots of whacking just 15 minutes away from laidback Zamboanga. I caught myself enjoying the sun and the sand, including the bizarre, but typical, moment at which I went from a happy laughing face to dramatic contortion and fussy grumpiness, for no apparent reason.

I couldn't believe that I couldn't find a single vendor of raw Pili or even Cashew nuts in the city. Groceries don't even have any of the usual Pili snacks you find in other cities.

ZC trying to jump into the ICT/BPO sector bandwagon (this isn't the first time, hasn't ZC learned anything from the ecozone project?) is laudable but is a misplaced priority. It simply doesn't have the infrastructure to do so competitively.

Now agribiz is something else.

Kaya dapt iimplement na yung Master Development PLan(MDP) ng Zamboanga na matagal ng nakatiwangwang kasi ayaw iimplement ng present administration kasi gawa yon sa panahon noong mayor pa si Agan. Milyon-milyon pa naman ang ginastos doon. Dapat kasi isipin ng present administration na kahit sino pa ang nagconceptualize ng Master Dev't Plan pero kung sa ikagaganda ng ciudad natin ay dapat nating suportahan. iniisip kasi nila kasi kung iimplement nila ang MDP lahat ng papuri ay kay Mayor Agan mapupunta. I'm sorry but I don't understand your point. Are you saying you're lucky because you're experiencing less brownouts compared to other places when reliable, 24/7 power supply is already considered *normal*?

Anyway, I only brought it up because I noticed the local government's gung-ho on doing BPO. Although Zamboanga is a potential source for Spanish-speaking agents, this can only happen when they have actually been trained to speak conversational Spanish, and not Chabacano. Some would like to believe that they're pretty close but, surprise, surprise, they're not.

The potential is there but putting up a BPO to target the Spanish-speaking market (quite huge in the US) may remain a pipe dream because of the poor support infrastructure.
