depende cguro yan.. kasi the officials ng ecozone should attract investors din and offer incentives sa mga potential investors... then iba iba ang price sa ibat ibang ecozone... yun zamboecozone nga mabagal madevelop kasi "DAW" mahal dun... I hope yung refinery plant ng Jathropa matuloy na...
and there's these news na gusto kunin ng Indigenous groups yung part ng forest ng ecozone kasi sa ninuno daw nila yun... and malaki part pa talaga ang gusto kunin... pero sabi ng city council hnd daw sila papayag kasi uninhabited naman daw yung Land nung binagay sa ecozone ang lupa...

i think sa selling nman ng Zambo ecozone per square meter nila nasa mabab nman ung price pero di lng tlga marunung magpaattract ung administration ng Zamboecozone...kung iisipin lng khit big companies like car manufacturing in China korea japan and malaysia pwde nila hikayatin mag invest kc ung place ng Zamboanga ay nasa good location pero they merely choose Laguna pero kahit malau sa seaport area....

windlady June 2nd, 2009, 11:41 AM BELLAS Y FLORES CAPS 2009 ZAMBO SUMMER FEST
Colorful arcos and beautiful muses paraded the streets yesterday marking the culmination of the month long 2009 Summer Festival, one of the city’s annual grand events.
Dubbed as “Festival de las Bellas y Flores-Year 7,” the parade of arcos and beauties featured the creations of 9 local fashion designers who will vied for the title in the best gown competition.
The event also turned out to be the search for the exceptional arco and prettiest senorita. Valuable cash prizes were at stake.
Mayor Celso Lobregat welcomed the participants during a brief program that followed the parade at the National Museum courtyard last night. The participants converged at the Ledesma Street (fronting the City Fire Station) and paraded through the main thoroughfares to the museum in Fort Pilar.
Mayor Lobregat said Zamboanga City was action-packed since mid-April, in celebration of Summer Festival, an annual undertaking of the city government that seeks to involve the community and provide wholesome entertainment to local residents as well as visitors during summer.
The City Government-initiated Festival de las Bellas y Flores is the localized and revised version of the “Santacruzan” or “Flores de Mayo,” which is considered to be the “Queen of Filipino festivals” where beautiful town belles are selected to participate.
The Bellas y Flores was organized by the City Tourism Office and was part of a bigger activity, the 2009 Summer Festival that kicked off last April 14 with the Kite Flying competition, a showcase of kites of different colors, sizes and images at the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.
The other activities during the festival were the 2nd Carera de Zamboanga, the Battle of the Bands at the Jardin Maria Clara, the Dia de Ma’am Caling in celebration of the 88th birth anniversary of the late Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat and the Summer Learn to Play a sport program, a month-long free sports clinic covering 26 sports disciplines.
Present during the affair last night were members of the City Council, representatives from the different sectors and other officials and guests. — Sheila Covarrubias

malay natin after lanang and gensan eh zamboanga na ang next city na magka SM sa Mindanao..well kung ako lang, sa zamboanga ako pupusta kasi yun (for me) ang pinaka feasible na location given the population of Zamboanga and overall economic importance ng Zamboanga sa Mindanao (For me Zamboanga is 1 of the big4 sa Mindanao with Davao, CdeO and GenSan)
^^thanks waway for that confidence in our city

..if manny villar wins, his memorial park in mercedes would greatly benefit from it, 'cos its adjacent to the new ZIA...

marlowe_cano June 3rd, 2009, 01:25 PM Gerky seeks to develop Calarian bog
Councilor Gerky Valesco visited yesterday portions of the so-called Bog lake in Calarian to help the barangay and cooperative officials formulate plans to make the area an eco-tourism destination.
Valesco said the area is ideal for excursions and educational tours considering the place has a scenic and serene lake that straddles three or more barangays.
“Calarian is one of the areas in Zamboanga that is gifted with natural beauty such as the lake. This is wonderful potential for outdoor activities and suitable for young and adventurous people,” Valesco said.
He said that among the activities that people can do to have fun while in Calarian are; boating, fishing, bird watching, trekking and other things. The active councilor was accompanied by Calarian barangay kagawad Andres Evangelista Jr and officers of the Pantano Cooperative, and Tom Lacandalo.
Valesco disclosed that the lake different fish species like tilapia.
“People can go fishing and there are vegetations near the banks which the cooperative members like corn, root crops, and vegetables.
“Once this area is developed, this can translate into source of job and income for the residents of Calarian. I suggested to them to invite students to fish or just to commune with nature,” Valesco said.
Valesco also commended Calarian officials led by its chairperson Flor Arcillas for being dynamic and responsive to the needs of the people. Meanwhile, Valesco said young people nowadays spent more time playing computer and other electronic gadgets, thus they have less time to appreciate the beauty of their environment. — RF

buenos-Diaz June 4th, 2009, 10:03 AM no its not...its Mindanao Provincial Mall a former Coco lumber dealer in Zamboanga City who owned by a Filipino-chinese business man who came from Fujian Province in China.
^^how come na naging mindanao provincial Mall?kung i based mo and ask kung wat and wer kinuha ung MINDPRO name its actually Mindanao Product Inc. then they name it to their mall kaya Mindpro citi mall.actually kamag anak lng sila ng mga Shop orama if im not wrong...Mindpro Citimall , budget wise supermarket and Cuidad Medical are owned by one :)

mrboy June 8th, 2009, 12:55 PM Filinvest opens up projects in Vismin high-growth areas
Filinvest has been steadily establishing its presence in Mindanao and Visayas, expanding geographically with a range of projects in high-growth regional areas like Zamboanga City.
Tristan Las Marias, Filinvest vice president, said in a news conference that for families all over the country, they provide a wide selection of themed communities with all the essentials of a complete lifestyle – impeccable location, well-crafted homes and safe neighborhoods – plus the distinctive charm of a provincial setting.
Renowned for its natural beauty and rich historic past, Cebu has become the business and tourism gateway to the Southern Philippines. Its proximity to pristine beaches and a year-round temperate climate make it an attractive place to live. Catering to both locals and vacation home seek distinctive charm of a provincial setting.
Corona del Mar, Filinvest’s first seaside development, boasts of prime beachfront residences facing the Bohol Strait with luxurious amenities highlighting the coastal ambience. In nearby Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Tropics offers a tropical-inspired backdrop near the Mactan International Airport and Export Processing Zone 2. Meanwhile, Aldea del Sol is a Spanish Mediterranean community that features residential lots and house and lot packages just minutes away from the pleasant beaches of Maribago.
Orange Grove in Davao City marked Filinvest’s initial foray into the island of Mindanao. With its high elevation, the mountain park theme showcases nature’s attractions and an inspiring panorama of the surrounding areas. Its success led to the launching of other residential communities in the city.
Fuente de Villa-Abrille and Le Jardin de Villa Abrille both offer a comfortable lifestyle with the convenience of being near malls and commercial centers in the heart of Davao City. People who want a more tranquil setting can opt for the beachfront residences of Ocean Cove. Right across the popular Mergrande Ocean Resort, Villa Mercedita offers a tropical haven with a special privilege for residents to use the resort’s facilities. Both communities are located just 15 to 20 minutes away from the Davao City Proper.
Las Marias said that in the nearby provinces, Filinvest again applies its expertise in property development with the pioneering communities of Filinvest Homes Tagum and Filinvest Homes Butuan. Making their mark as the first exclusive residential subdivisions in both cities, they offer complete facilities with a range of recreational amenities.
“Further south in Zamboanga City, Villa San Ignacio features serene Spanish-Mediterranean living right across the Ateneo de Zamboanga,” he said.
Poised to spark an urban renewal in Mindanao is One Oasis Davao, a sprawling Asian-inspired medium-rise condominium community in Matina, Davao City. Breaking free from the concrete jungle, the complex is envisioned as a garden oasis with lush streetscapes and pocket parks within the gated community. Seemingly nestled in a world of its own, One Oasis Davao is literally just steps away from SM City Davao with its wide range of shopping and dining choices. Within five minutes driving distance are schools, churches, health clinics and commercial establishments.
One Oasis Davao is composed of four residential condominium buildings and three condotel buildings on a 2.3-hectare property. Rising five storeys each, the buildings are laid out efficiently to give residents a sense of space and privacy. Each one offers spacious studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units with facilities designed for comfort and convenience. Centralized resort-inspired amenities such as a swimming pool, a clubhouse, and venues for outdoor activities contribute to the refreshing lifestyle.
“Wherever you choose to settle, you can definitely find a home in any of Filinvest’s projects that perfectly suits your lifestyle and distinct requirements. With projects all over the archipelago, you have virtually unlimited options and a choice of home living experiences,” Las Marias.
Filinvest faces the choose to settle, you can definitely find a home in any of Filinvest’s projects that perfectly suits your lifestyle and distinct requirements. With projects all over the archipelago future with a ceaseless drive to expand its reach even further and to reach more countrymen though its projects. The company will continue to venture into new territories as it remains committed to building the Filipino dream, one home at a time, all over the Philippines, he concluded.

about the IBT, I think they are still finishing the refinements in the project before the contract will be sign... (on the other hand, the mayor has other intentions to it... tsk tsk:ohno:)
for the ZIA study? no news about it. but during the recent visit of PGMA in the city, Cong. CLimaco-Salazar had a talk with the Pres. about the airport proposal. However, the congresswoman did not elaborate more on it...
