Proposed
Oslo Tower
Bjerke - Oslo

Oxer group is behind a proposed office park, Oslo Tower. The tower itself will house small appartments for commuters, meetingrooms, a restaurant and spa (in the base). And ofcourse a rooftop terasse. (Not public) and it will have solarpanels inside the glass-facades and a artistic night-light.

The complex will have underground parking and a square in attempt of creating a local centre.

There has been speculations on Statoilhydro new hq to be located here. This is in Groruddalen, a valley with lots of industry, motorways and shopping-centres. Projects like this is very welcome by politicians since they want to give this valley new life.

Whole project is 60 000 squaremeters. Planned completion in 2012.

Neighbouring projects are a new Choice new hotel (Completed), and Østre Aker vei 31 office park(U/C) and Økern centre(Proposed).

These images are from Oxers prospect, you can get one if you just fill in your e-mail:

This was nice! And shouldn't be to hard to get it approved either as the tower's already there.

Personally my hope was that Godzilla or something would eat the Alcatel tower since I think it is hideous. But this looks like the second best option.
(Although some further work on the estetics would be to my liking)

The existing Alcateltarnet Tower has 12 floors and rises 62 metres. If you were to add two floors to the existing tower, it would be 70 metres 13 floors (not 18 though).

Certainly it will have to be completely rebuilt, leaving only the shell of the old structure... =)

Quite right Ingenioren. Although I think it has 11 floors. But those are not usable for the planned use and the entire tower has to be refurbished.

Bygg.no reports:
The developpers have high ambitions as to use new technology in order to reduce the energy-use for this complex. 125kwh/m2year is the goal for the whole project, while with the office-lammels they have a vision of reaching down to 100kwh/m2year. Reason why they won't reach such a level for the entire project is that a big part of it will be using old building mass.

I wish they would focus construction along the highrise cluster so Oslo could form a dense business center.

I wish that to, but then again it's hard to build highrises downtown, they should build more of them in this area giving us a new cluster at the meeting point of Oslo-gryta and Groruddalen it would be visible for many inhabitants and mark this area as an important development zone and Groruddalens centre. Keep in mind, there are more highrises planned nearby this one:

^ Atleast Riksantikvaren doesn't have a problem with Oxer altering the appearance of the tower with glass instead of concrete, they only demand the tower to be there :)

Interview with the developper, appearantly there is no problem filling the space at Økern Næringspark:

^ Unbelievable, i know - seems as all industry is automaticly worth preserving - i wouldn't have guessed it, but i'm glad ;D

The facades to the left here is also protected (I guess not Bilia) aswell as the chimney - Riksantikvaren is very pro-chimney:

So what happends now, cancelled... After 3 years of planning developper thinks the approved plan would offer too little profit and decides to withdraw their application.
