View Full Version : Lexington - USA
Cardpooch November 13th, 2003, 05:57 PM Metro area population 600,000
Lexington is known more for horse farms than skyscrapers but it
still has a unique city core. Unlike most American cities, there are
no freeways running through downtown. The city also has a very
strong historical preservation movement. Because of these
factors, the city center has become "landlocked" between
historical residential developments thus preventing any sprawling
growth downtown. Unlike many downtowns, Lexington is small
and much of the city is easily accesible by foot.
Kaneda November 13th, 2003, 11:06 PM Its not that special if you look at other american cities at that size. Most of the towers looks pretty boring, but the Financial Center is really nice. 6/10

SeeMacau November 17th, 2003, 03:34 AM I like the Lexington financial center building too
Nothing special of the city
7/10
leealex_24 November 17th, 2003, 02:03 PM Nothing interesting, but, it is pretty good considering the size of the city. I would give 6/10. It is the kind of city that you would like to just relax and admire the nature
Mr. Big November 17th, 2003, 10:27 PM Not much now but I think this skyline has a lot of potential. The taller towers are clustered together so gaps aren't a problem. Also, the photos show how the downtown is long and narrow. A couple of new mid size towers and the profile would be greatly enhanced.
5/10
Aquarius November 19th, 2003, 07:31 PM skyline is not very spectacular, but the black building I like. To be
a city of 280,000 inhabitants and American 6,5/10.
A city very green

lexkyguy December 18th, 2003, 01:01 AM My city...yes very green...Lexington has been called a "City within a Park" because of the green.
Lexington does lack on the skyline...but it is growing.
Lexington still holds the title of having the tallest building on I-75 between Cincinnati and Atlanta -- 31 floors.
james2390 December 18th, 2003, 01:08 AM This city is awesome. It seems like an awesome small city. 10/10

LouisvilleJake January 5th, 2005, 01:12 AM Lexington is a beautiful city, the skyline is small, but attractive. 7/10
hauntedheadnc January 6th, 2005, 12:50 AM Attractive more for its historic density and greenery than a soaring skyline. I like the mix of old and new. 7.

madtony8k March 16th, 2008, 11:12 PM Thanks for posting. It's a 40 story mixed use tower. It's mainly residential with a hotel, condos, and a restaurant at the top. Also, there is some talk about a few ~15 story towers downtown.
madtony8k April 9th, 2008, 12:32 AM A cool video of downtown Lexington I found on youtube...
