அந்த நாலு பேருக்கு ஒரு செய்தி!
சங்கரன்கோவிலில் நடந்தது சவால் தேர்தல்!

இடைத்தேர்தல்களில் ஆளும் கட்சிதான் வெல்லும் என்பது அசைக்க முடியாத விதியாக மாறிப்போனாலும், அ.தி.மு.க. வாங்கிய வாக்குகள் அபரிதமானவை. இரண்டாம் இடத்தைத் தி.மு.க. பிடித்தாலும் அந்தக் கட்சிக்கும் ம.தி.மு.க-வுக்கு மான வித்தியாசம் மிகமிகக் குறைவு என்பது கவனிக்கத்தக்கது.

இதைத் தாண்டி நால்வருக்குமே சங்கரன்கோவில் தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் சில செய்திகளைச் சொல்லியிருக்கின்றன!

எப்படிக் கிடைத்தது அ.தி.மு.க-வுக்கு?

பதிவான சுமார் ஒன்றரை லட்சத்துக்கும் அதிகமான வாக்குகளில் சுமார் 95 ஆயிரம் வாக்குகளை அ.தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் முத்துச்செல்வியே அள்ளிவிட்டார். அடுத்து வந்த தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளரைவிட சுமார் 68 ஆயிரம் வாக்குகள் அதிகம். ஜெயலலிதாவுக்கு இது மகத்தான வெற்றி.

இந்த வெற்றி எப்படிக் கிடைத்தது? 32 மந்திரிகளும் அத்தனை எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்களும் ஒரு மாதம் சங்கரன்கோவிலிலேயே டேரா போட்டனர். தேர்தல் தேதி அறிவிக்கத் தாமதமானதால் அரசின் இலவசத் திட்டங்கள் அனைத்தும் அங்கு சீரும்சிறப்புமாக அரங்கேறின. கடைசி நாளில் ஓட்டுக்குப் பணம் கொடுத்ததாக அ.தி.மு.க-வினர் மீது எதிர்க் கட்சிகள் வெளிப்படையாகக் குற்றம்சாட்டின. ஜெயலலிதா அதை மறுக்கவில்லை!

சங்கரன்கோவில் தொகுதி எப்போதுமே இரட்டை இலையின் கோட்டை. ஜெயல லிதாவே தோற்றுப்போன 1996 சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலில்கூட இலைதான் இங்கு வென்றது. தமிழ்நாட்டில் நாலே நாலு தொகுதிகள் வென்றபோதே ஜெயம் கொடுத்த தொகுதி இது. எனவே, அ.தி.மு.க.தான் வெல்லும் என்பதில் ஜெயலலிதாவுக்குச் சந்தேகம் இல்லை. 'விஜயகாந்துக்கு விட்ட சவாலை எதிர்கொள்ள வேண்டும். அவரது தயவில் நான் கடந்த தேர்தலில் ஜெயிக்கவில்லை!’ என்பதை ஆணித்தரமாகப் பறைசாற்றத் துடித்தார் ஜெயலலிதா.

நாயக்கர்களுக்காக தெலுங்கில் பேசி... பரமக்குடி பயத்தில் டாக்டர் கிருஷ்ணசாமியைச் சந்தித்து... முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் கருப்பசாமியின் குடும்பத்தைத் தேர்தலுக்கு முந்தைய வாரம் கார்டனுக்கு வரவழைத்து காபி கொடுத்து... சரத்குமாரையும் பிரசாரத் துக்கு அழைத்து... ஜெயலலிதா சும்மா ஜெயித்துவிடவில்லை. 'இழந்தது’ அதிகம். இது அனைத்து மந்திரிகளுக்கும் தெரியும்!

வருத்தம் வேண்டும் தி.மு.க-வுக்கு!

நெல்லை மாவட்டத்தில் கறுப்பு - சிவப்புக் கொடியை ஏற்றி முதன்முதலில் கிளைக் கழகத்தைத் தொடங்கிவைத்த கருணாநிதிக்கு, சங்கரன்கோவிலில் டெபாசிட் போனது மரியாதையைத் தராது. 'தோல்விக்காக வருந்தத் தேவை இல்லை!’ என்று தொண்டர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்கிறார். தொண்டர்கள் வருந்தத் தேவை இல்லை. ஆனால், அவர் நிச்சயம் வருத்தப்படத்தான் வேண்டும்.

இடைத்தேர்தலில் ஆளும் கட்சிதான் ஜெயிக்கும். கடந்த ஐந்து ஆண்டுகளில் தி.மு.க-தான் வென்றது. ஆனால், சங்கரன்கோவிலில் வாங்கிய வாக்குகள்? 9 மாதங்களுக்கு முன் நடந்த பொதுத் தேர்தலில் 60 ஆயிரம் வாக்குகளைப் பெற்ற தி.மு.க-வுக்கு, இப்போது பாதி வாக்குகள்கூடக் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அ.தி.மு.க-வில் இந்நாள் அமைச்சர்கள் குவிந்ததுபோல, தி.மு.க-வில் முன்னாள் அமைச்சர்கள் குவிந்தார்கள். தலைமைக் கழகம் பணம் தரவில்லை என்றாலும் இவர்கள் பழைய பசையோடும்... சொந்த மாவட்டத்து பிரியாணி மாஸ்டர்களோடும் சங்கரன்கோவிலைச் சுற்றினார்கள். இவர்கள் போதாது என்று அழகிரியும் ஸ்டாலி னும் தங்களது அரசியல் எதிர்காலத்தை சங்கரன்கோவிலில் தேடிக்கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள்.

'இது இடைத்தேர்தல் அல்ல. எடைத் தேர்தல்! நடக்கும் ஆட்சியை எடை போட்டுப் பார்க்கும் தேர்தல்’ என்று கோமதி அம்மன் கோயில் வாசலில் சொல்லிப் பார்த்தார் கருணாநிதி. அவரோடு காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்கள், திருமாவளவன், இந்திய யூனியன் முஸ்லிம் லீக், மூவேந்தர் முன்னேற்றக் கழகம் என்று பலர் மேடையை நிரப்பினார்கள். பயனில்லை. டெபாசிட் போனது. 'மோசமான ரூட்ல கூட்டிட்டுப் போயி முதுகு வலி வந்திருச்சே!’ என்று மதுரை விமான நிலையத்தில் வருத்தப்பட்டபடி வான் வண்டி ஏறியதுதான் மிச்சம்!

மகிழ்ச்சி கிடைக்காத ம.தி.மு.க!

சங்கடங்கோவிலாக மாறிவிட்டது வைகோவுக்கு! 'வெற்றி லட்சியம்; இரண்டாவது இடம் நிச்சயம்’ என்ற உறுதியோடு ம.தி.மு.க-வினர் இரண்டு மாதங்களாக வேலை பார்த்தார்கள். ஆனால், பிரசாரக் களத்துக்குள் அ.தி.மு.க-வும் தி.மு.க-வும் கரன்சியோடு குதித்தபோது, ம.தி.மு.க-வினர் சுணங்கிப்போனார்கள். அதிலும் கடைசி இரண்டு நாள் நிலைமை அவர்களை மொத்தமாகவே முடக்கிவிட்டது. 'தேர்தல் தேதியைத் தள்ளிவையுங்கள்’ என்று தேர்தல் ஆணையத்துக்குக் கடிதம் எழுதும் அளவுக்கு வைகோ சோர்ந்துபோனார்.

சொந்தத் தொகுதி, சொந்தக்காரர்கள் அதிகம் இருக்கும் தொகுதி, 50 ஆண்டுகளாக வலம் வரும் கிராமங்கள் நிறைந்த தொகுதி என எத்தனையோ ப்ளஸ்கள் இருந்தாலும் இரண்டாம் இடம் பிடிக்கவில்லை. வாக்குகள் 20 ஆயிரத்தைத்தான் தொட முடிந்தது. கொள்கைப் போராட்டங்களுக்கும் தேர்தல் அரசியலுக்கும் உள்ள வித்தியாசத்தை ம.தி.மு.க-வினருக்கு மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை உணர்த்திவிட்டது சங்கரன்கோவில் முடிவு.

தேய்கிறதா தே.மு.தி.க?

சட்டசபையில் ஜெயலலிதா சவால் விட்டதுமே விஜயகாந்த், யதார்த்தமான பதிலைச் சொன்னார்: ''எல்லா இடைத்தேர்தல்களிலும் ஆளும் கட்சிதானே ஜெயிக்கும்!''

இதனாலேயே தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட வேண்டாம் என்றுதான் நினைத்தார் விஜயகாந்த். ஆனால், அவரைத் தூண்டிவிட்ட புண்ணியவான் யாரென்று தெரியவில்லை. தேவை இல்லாமல் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு... 'தே.மு.தி.க-வுக்கு இவ்வளவுதான் (செல்)வாக்கு!’ என்பதை ஊருக்குச் சொல்லிவிட்டார். ''வாக்குப் பதிவு எந்திரத்தில் முதல் பெயராக முத்துக்குமாரும் முரசு சின்னமும் இருக்கும். அதில் குத்தி முதலாவது இடத்துக்கு வரவையுங்கள்'' என்றார். ஆனால், பிரதானக் கட்சிகளில் கடைசியாக வந்துவிட்டார்.

''தி.மு.க., அ.தி.மு.க-வுக்கு நான்தான் மாற்று'' என்று அவர் சொன்னது எடுபடவில்லை. இதற்குக் காரணம் 10 மாதங்களுக்கு முன் அ.தி.மு.க-வுக்கு ஓட்டுக் கேட்டார் என்பதனால் அல்ல. ''அவர்தான் மாற்று'' என்று மக்கள் உணர்வது மாதிரி இந்த 10 மாதங்களும் அவர் நடந்துகொள்ளவில்லை என்பதுதான்!

அதற்காக ஜெயலலிதா சொல்வதுபோல ''சவால்விட்டவர்களுக்கு வாக்காளர்கள் பதிலடி கொடுத்துவிட்டார்கள்'' என்றும் சொல்ல முடியாது. பென்னாகரம் இடைத்தேர்தலில் ஜெயலலிதாவே டெபாசிட் இழந்தவர்தான். இடைத்தேர்தலில் விஜயகாந்த் நிற்காமல் இருந்து இருந்தால்கூட, விமர்சனத்தைத் தவிர்த்து இருக் கலாம். கடந்த தி.மு.க. ஆட்சியில் நடந்த ஐந்து இடைத்தேர்தல்களில் அ.தி.மு.க-வே போட்டி யிடவில்லை. எப்படிப் பார்த்தாலும் சமயோசித மாகச் செயல்பட விஜயகாந்த் தவறிவிட்டார்.

ஆக, நான்கு பேருக்கும் 'நச்’செனச் சேதி சொல்லி இருக்கிறது சங்கரன்கோவில்!

ஐந்து முறை முதல்வரான தமிழீன தலைவர் கட்சியின் பண, படை பலத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் வைகோவும் விஜயகாந்த்தும் வாங்கி உள்ள ஓட்டுக்கள் கணிசமானவையே. எதிர்க்கட்சிக்கு ஓட்டு போடுவதில் எந்த லாபமும் இல்லை என்பது சங்கரன்கோவில் மாக்களுக்கு தெரிந்து இருக்கும். மேலும் எப்போதும் வெல்லும் கட்சி அரசு இயந்திரமும் கையில் இருக்கும்போது வெல்வதில் ஒன்றும் அதிசயமில்லை. கவலைப்பட வேண்டியது திருடர்கள் முன்னேற்ற கழகம்தான்."

NEB new tariff comes into effect from today. Dont believe the false propoganda by TNEB that hike is 37% average. Actual hike is more than 100%

As per the old tariff the slab rates remains unchanged irrespective No of units used

0 to 50 -75 paise
51 to 100 - 85 paise
101-200 - 1.50rs
201 - 600 - 2.20rs
Above 600- 4.05rs

For example in my last billing cycle my usage was 630 units

Upto 50 units - 37.5rs
510 to 100units - 42.5rs
101-200 units - 150rs
201- 600 units - 880rs
600 to 630 units - 121.50

Total 1231.50+10 = 1241.50rs

In the new tariff slab rate is not constant as like the old one, it differs based on ur usage

Consumption upto 100 units bi-monthly
0-100 units 1.10rs + 20rs fixed charges

Consumption above 100 units and upto 200 units bi-monthly
0-200 units 1.80rs + 20rs fixed charges

Consumption above 200 units and upto 500 units bi-monthly
0-200 units 3rs
201 to 500 Units 3.50rs + 30rs fixed charges

Consumption above 500 units bi-monthly
0-200 units 3rs
201 to 500 Units 4rs
Above 501 units 5.75rs + 40rs fixed charges

Now if i take the same example of 630 units (my last billing cycle amount)

0 to 200 units 600rs
201 to 500 units 1200rs
501 to 630 units 747.50rs

Total 2547.50rs +40rs = 2587.50rs

2587.50 - 1241.50 = 1346rs difference

Its more than 100% hike

So please dont believe that its only 37% hike and calculate last time my bill was 1000rs so this time it would be around 1400rs or so.

Its practically impossible to use less than 500 units. I tried reducing the consumption but i was able to go down only to 530 units not less than that.

Not used A/c, water heater, Iron box.

I completely agree to Badri's views, but the problem is hiking the tariff at once. The governments are the one to be blamed, increasing the tariff after 9 years and that too so steeply is going to affect the common man. In the above example and also the example I quoted few pages back, its more than 100% increase.. its an additional burden of Rs.1000 - Rs.1500 minimum for a normal family, and not the mention the ripple effects - whenever fuel or electricity prices increase the cost of everything goes upwards.

It wouldn't be such a pain if the governments had the gut to revise the tariff periodically.

தலைநகரின் தலைமைச் செயலகமே மின்தட்டுப்பாடு காரணமாக "ஜெனரேட்டரில்' ஓடிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறது. தங்களது எதிர்காலத்தை தீர்மானிக்கும் தேர்வை சந்திக்க மெழுகுவர்த்தி வெளிச்சத்தில் படித்துக்கொண்டு இருக்கும் மாணவர்களின் கவனத்தை திசைதிருப்பும் புனித பணியை மேற்கொள்ளப் போகிறார்கள். மின்சாரம் இல்லாததால், பல உயிர்காக்கும் அறுவை சிகிச்சைகள் கூட நடக்காமல் தள்ளிப்போடப்படும் நிலையில், இரவை பகலாக்கும் விதத்தில் வாரியிறைக்கப்படும் வெளிச்சத்திற்கு காரணமான மின்சாரத்தை வீணாக்கும் கிரிக்கெட் இந்த நேரத்தில் அவசியம்தானா என்று வழக்கு போடப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால் அதைப்பற்றியெல்லாம் கவலையில்லாமல் பிரபுதேவா, பிரியங்கா சோப்ரா பங்கேற்கும் நடனங்களுடன் சென்னையில் கிரிக்கெட் திருவிழா குதூகலமாக துவங்கிவிடும். மின்சாரமே இல்லாவிட்டாலும் "ஜெனரேட்டரை' ஒட்டியாவது கிரிக்கெட்டை நடத்தி விடுவார்கள். "ஜெனரேட்டருக்கான' டீசலுக்கு எங்கே போவது, கொஞ்சநாளைக்கு மானியமாக வழங்கப்படும் டீசலை இந்த பக்கம் திருப்பிவிடவேண்டியதுதான். நமக்கு கிரிக்கெட்தானே முக்கியம். ஒரு வேளை வழக்கின் அடிப்படையில் கிரிக்கெட் நடைபெறாமல் போனால் இடிவிழுந்தது போலாகிவிடுவான் நம் மறத்தமிழன். காரணம் ஒரு சில மணி நேர ஆட்டத்தை காண, முதல் நாளே வரிசையில் நின்று, போலீசிடம் அடிபட்டு, இந்த ஆட்டத்தை பார்க்க 700 ரூபாய் முதல் 15 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் வரையிலான டிக்கெட்டை முண்டியடித்து வாங்கி தீர்த்துவிட்டார்கள். பால் விலை, பஸ் டிக்கெட் விலை கூடிவிட்டது என்று இவர்கள் எல்லாம் வாயைத்திறந்து பேசவே கூடாது.

200 நாடுகளுக்கு மேல் இருந்தாலும், கடந்த 100 ஆண்டுகளாக டெஸ்ட் அந்தஸ்து பெற்ற 10 நாடுகளில் மட்டுமே வளர்ந்த இந்த கிரிக்கெட்டிலும், இரண்டு நாடுகள் இன்றைக்கும் உப்புக்கு சப்பாணிதான்.தோற்பதற்காகவே விளையாட வருபவர்கள். பிறகு ஒரு நாட்டை ஆட்டையிலே சேர்க்கமாட்டார்கள். மீதம் உள்ள ஐந்து நாட்டின் வீரர்களை ஆளாளுக்கு ஏலம் எடுத்து கோடி,கோடியாக சம்பாதிக்க நடத்தப்படுவதுதான் இந்த சீசன் கிரிக்கெட் விளையாட்டு. வரும் 4ம் தேதி துவங்கி மே மாதம் 27ம் தேதி வரை நடைபெறும் போட்டியில் மொத்தம் 76 போட்டிகள் நடக்க உள்ளன. தோராயமாக ஒரு வீரர் 16 ஆட்டங்களில் கலந்து கொண்டு 48 மணிநேரம் களத்தில் இருப்பார். இதில் பன்னாட்டு விளம்பரம் அச்சிடப்பட்ட பேட்டை "கேமரா' முன் நீட்டிய நேரம், எப்போதாவது பந்தின்பின் ஓடிய நேரம், எப்போதும் ரசிகைகளுக்கு "ஆட்டோகிராப்' போட்டுக்கொடுத்த நேரம் உள்ளிட்டவையும் அடங்கும். ஒரு நிமிடத்திற்கு 1200 ரூபாய் அளவில் சம்பாத்தியம் என்றால் கணக்கு போட்டுக்கொள்ளுங்கள் மயக்கமே வரும்.இதனால்தான் டெஸ்ட், ஒருநாள் போட்டியைவிட இந்த "டுவென்டி-20'யில் தான் வீரர்கள் ஆர்வம் காட்டுகிறார்கள். ரொம்ப மெனக்கெட வேண்டாம். ஐந்து நாளும் வெயிலில் நிற்கவேண்டாம். நாட்டுக்காக விளையாடுகிறோம் என்று "சீன்' காட்ட வேண்டாம்.

உலக கோப்பையின் போது ஓட, ஓட விரட்டி தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட இலங்கை அணியின் மலிங்கா, மும்பை இந்தியன்ஸ் அணிக்காக விளையாடுவார். அவருடன் சச்சினும் கைகோர்த்துக்கொண்டு களம் இறங்குவார். கேட்டால் "கிரிக்கெட் இஸ் ஏ கேம்' என்பார்கள். அதெல்லாம் ஒரு மண்ணாங்கட்டியும் கிடையாது. பணம் தான் பிரதானம். பல காலமாக கிடப்பில் உள்ள எல்லைப்பிரச்னை உள்ளிட்ட எண்ணற்ற பிரச்னைகளை பற்றி ஒரு மணி நேரம் உட்கார்ந்து பேச நேரமில்லாத இந்தியா-பாக்., பிரதமர்கள் இணைந்து பல மணி நேரம் உட்கார்ந்து பார்க்கும் விளையாட்டாயிற்றே. போதும்போதா தற்கு சோனியாவும், ராகுலும் கூட சிறப்பு பார்வையாளர்கள். இப்படி முக்கியஸ்தர்கள் துவங்கி சாமன்யன் வரை தந்த ஆதரவால் மண்சார்ந்த, மரபுசார்ந்த விளையாட்டை முனை தெரியாமல் நசுக்கிய பெருமை இந்த கிரிக்கெட்டிற்கு மட்டுமே உண்டு. நசுக்கப்பட்டதில் தேசிய விளையாட்டான ஹாக்கியும் அடக்கமாகிப்போனதுதான் பெரிய வேதனை.

இப்படி தேசமே கொண்டாடிப்பார்த்த, மும்பையில் நடந்த உலக கோப்பை அரையிறுதியில் "மேட்ச் பிக்சிங்' சூதாட்டம் நடந்தது என்று ஆங்கில பத்திரிகை ஒன்று தக்க ஆதாரம் இருப்பதாக சொல்லி செய்தி வெளியிட்டது. இதற்கு ஒரு நடிகைதான் "மீடியேட்டர்' என்று முகம் தெரியாமல் ஒரு நடிகையின் படத்தையும் வெளியிட்டது. அப்படியானால் அன்று ரசிகர்கள் காட்டு கத்தலாய் கத்தியது, விடிய, விடிய "டிவி', பார்த்தது, விடிந்தபிறகும் வெடி போட்டது, முகம் தெரியாதவர்களுக்கு இனிப்பு வழங்கியது எல்லாமே ஒரு விளையாட்டு என்ற பெயரில் நடந்த நாடகத்திற்குதானா.

நான்தான் அந்த அரைகுறை உடையுடன் கூடிய நடிகை என்று தானாகவே மீடியா முன் ஆஜரான வடமாநில நடிகை நூபுர், எனக்கு எந்த கிரிக்கெட் வீரர்களையும் தெரியாது, எனது புகழுக்கு(!)களங்கம் ஏற்படுத்தியவர்கள் மீது விடிந்ததும் வழக்கு போடப்போகிறேன் என்று ரொம்பவே ஆவேசப்பட்டார். விடிந்து பார்த்தால் எனக்கு "லேசாக' இலங்கை வீரர் தில்ஷனைத் தெரியும் என்றார். அத்தோடு ஆவேசம் அடங்கிவிட்டது. இன்றைய தேதிவரை வக்கீல் "நோட்டீஸ்' கூட அனுப்பவில்லை. இப்படி எப்படி பார்த்தாலும் கிரிக்கெட் என்பது நாடகமாகவும், மூளைச்சலவை செய்வதாகவும், இளைய வயதினரின் நேரத்தை கொல்வதாகவும் உள்ள ஒன்றாகவே உள்ளது. கிட்னியை விற்று கூட கிரிக்கெட் பார்ப்பேன் என்று பெங்களூரு ரசிகர் சொன்னதாக வந்த செய்தியைப் படித்தாலே எந்த அளவு கிரிக்கெட்டால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம் என்பது புரியும். இவர், இந்தியாவின் ஒரு பானை சோற்றுக்கான ஒரு பருக்கையை போன்றவர். சச்சினை பொறுத்தவரை நூறு சதம் அடித்தவுடனேயே "ரிட்டையர்' ஆவார் என்று எதிர்பார்த்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவரோ எனக்கு தெரியும் எப்போது ஒய்வு பெறுவது என்று சொல்லிவிட்டார். யாருக்கு தெரியும் அவரது பல நூறு கோடி பெறுமான அசையா மற்றும் அசையும் சொத்துக்களைத் தாண்டி உள்ள கடனை அடைப்பதற்காக விளையாடுகிறாரோ என்னவோ. பாவம் வெளிநாட்டில் இருந்து பரிசாக வந்த காருக்கு கூட வரி விலக்கு கேட்டவர்தானே. இவருக்கு பாரத ரத்னா விருது கொடுக்கவில்லையே என்று வேறு பலருக்கு வருத்தம். நீதிபதி மார்கண்டேயே கட்சூ நன்றாகத்தான் கேட்டார், "பாரத ரத்னா என்பது சமூகத்திற்காக சேவை செய்தவர்களுக்காக தரப்படும் மிக உயர்ந்த விருது, இதை தங்களது சுய முன்னேற்றம் மற்றும் வருமானத்திற்காக செயல்படும் கிரிக்கெட் வீரர்களும், சினிமாக்காரர்களுக்கும் கேட்பது என்பது எந்த விதத்தில் நியாயம் என்றே தெரியவில்லை. அந்த விருதை இனியும் கொச்சை படுத்தாதீர்கள். எனக்கு மிகவும் வேதனையாக இருக்கிறது' என்றார். நமக்கும்தான்.

நம்மை "ஹீரோ'வாக தலையில் வைத்து கொண்டாடும் தேசத்தில் மாறி,மாறி மதுபான விளம்பரங்களில் நடிக்கிறோமே, நமது ரசிகர்கள் நாம் சொன்னால் நஞ்சை கூட ரசித்து குடித்துவிடுவார்களே என்று, கொஞ்சமும் மனசாட்சியில்லாமல் தோனியும், ஹர்பஜனும் மதுபான விளம்பரங்களில் தோன்றி, குடிப்பதை உற்சாகப்படுத்திக்கொண்டுதானே இருக்கிறார்கள். பணமும், செல்வாக்கும் இருந்தால் எதையும் செய்யலாம் என்ற கிரிக்கெட் அமைப்பின் எண்ணத்திற்கு எல்லையே இல்லாமல் போய்க்கொண்டு இருக்கிறது. தேர்தல் சமயம் பாதுகாப்பு தரமுடியாது கொஞ்சம் காலம் தள்ளி விளையாட முடியுமா என்று கேட்டதற்கு, அதெல்லாம் முடியாது என்று தென் ஆப்ரிக்காவிற்கு சென்று விளையாடியவர்கள்தானே இவர்கள். இவர்களுக்கு பணமே பிரதானம். உண்மையில் இந்திய அணி என்பது ஒன்றும் இந்தியாவிற்கு கட்டுப்பட்ட அணி கிடையாது. இதனால் இந்தியாவிற்கு எந்த வருமானமும் கிடையாது. இந்திய அணி என்ற பிராண்டை வைத்துக்கொண்டு பணத்தால் குளிப்பது சில தனியார் அமைப்புகள்தான்.இவ்வளவு வருமானம் வந்தபோதும் வரி செலுத்துவதில் நிறைய முரண்பாடு உண்டு. யாரும் கேள்வி கேட்க முடியாது.

தகவல் அறியும் சட்டத்தில் இருந்து கூட விலக்கு பெற்று உள்ளார்கள். எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் காரணம் தேசம். இவர்கள் மீது காட்டும் கண்மூடித்தனமான பாசம்தான். வறுமையால் தற்கொலை செய்துகொள்ளும் விவசாயிகள் நாளுக்கு நாள் பெருகிவரும் ஏழை இந்தியாவில், பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட குடிநீருக்கே பரிதவிக்கும் பழமையான தேசத்தில், அடிப்படை தேவைகளுக்கே அல்லல் படும் எளிய நாட்டில், கிரிக்கெட்டை விளையாடுங்கள்; ஆனால் அதை திருவிழா போல கொண்டாடாதீர்கள். கிரிக்கெட்டிற்கு எதிரான புலம்பலாக இதை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளாதீர்கள். உங்கள் ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தில், ஆராவாரத்தில் மற்றவர்களின் குறிப்பாக மாணவர்களின் நலனை, எதிர்காலத்தை நசுக்கிவிடாதீர்கள் என்ற வேண்டுகோளாகவே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். வேண்டுமானால் கெஞ்சலாக கூட வைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். விளையாட்டை விளையாட்டாக பாருங்கள். முரண்பாடாக பார்க்காதீர்கள் என்பதுதான் அவர்கள் தரப்பில் சொல்லும் ஒரே வார்த்தை. அதையேதான் நாம் திருப்பிச் சொல்கிறோம். உங்களிடம் உள்ள முரண்பாடுகளை விளையாட்டாக்காதீர்கள்.

Read somewhere that people dying due to road accidents is high in TN when compared to other states. Wonder why!

First we have roads that don't last for one rain. No matter we see it year after year during rains we won't fix it.
Then we grant license to people who can't spell word "drive".
Then we have people who doesn't follow any good practices on road.
Then we float safety rules.
Then we have cops who let people off the hook for biriyanis.

Then we have people in public (and government) in denial mode who denies that the problems exist and vouch that we are doing extremely great compared to some jungle /reserve forest area in Orrisa or WB and claim that we are fastest growing in universe

Where will you start to fix the problem?

1. People's mentality should change. safety Driving is more important than getting DL.
2. there should be "zero" corruption on LLR, DL issue.
3. Adequate Driving inspector should be created. even they can outsource the LLR,(written test), appointments for Driving test similar to Passport Seva Kendra.
4. Driving test road should be given.. last time, i was asked to drive it in GST road and they asked me to take a "U" turn near that meenambakkam Cargo Complex. It was rainy day. All the ladies came for 2 Wheeler were given License without test drive(they all came from a Driving school)

CHENNAI: Sasikalaa Natarajan on Monday returned to chief minister J Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence in the city as the long-time friends patched up more than three months after their bitter parting. Sources said Sasikalaa entered the house at an auspicious hour and to a traditional welcome. In December last, the AIADMK chief had expelled Sasikalaa and her relatives from the primary membership of the party and got her friend to move out of her residence, where she had been living for the past 24 years.

Last week, Sasikalaa, in an emotional letter, said she was ignorant about a conspiracy hatched by her relatives . She said she only had Jayalalithaa's well-being at heart and had never once dreamt of harming or betraying her friend of nearly three decades.

On Saturday, Jayalalithaa issued a statement revoking Sasikalaa's expulsion but maintained that her relatives would continue to stay out of the party. On Monday, the two friends were back together.

"A car was sent to pick up 'Chinnamma' (Sasikalaa) from T Nagar, where she was residing for more than three months. The car returned to the chief minister's Poes Garden bungalow around 4pm. Amma (Jayalalithaa) came out to the portico and welcomed Sasikalaa. It was an emotional scene," a party source, present during the reunion, said. The friends were meeting each other after more than 100 days.

According to a state minister , the chief minister had informed her cabinet colleagues about Sasikalaa's return a couple of days ago. "Amma informed us about her return and she also conveyed a strong message to the ministers not to entertain any of Sasikalaa's family members just because of the latest developments. She also said we should continue to take instructions only from her," the minister said.

In her two-page letter to the AIADMK chief, which was released as a statement, Sasikalaa said she was not interested in posts or positions and had no desire to be in public life.

அதேபோல தஞ்சை மாவட்டத்தில் இவர் ஆட்சியராக இருந்தபோதுதான் கும்பகோணம் பள்ளிக்கூடத்தில் பெரும் தீவிபத்துத் துயரம் ஏற்பட்டு 90 சிறார்கள் கருகிப் பலியாயினர். அப்போது இவர் படு துரிதமாக செயல்பட்ட விதம் அனைவரையும் கவர்ந்தது. அப்போது இவருடன் இவரது மனைவி கிருத்திகா ராதாகிருஷ்ணனும் இணைந்து பாதிக்கப்பட்டோருக்கு ஆறுதல் தெரிவித்தும், கவுன்சிலிங் செய்தும் நேரத்தை செலவிட்டு அனைவரையும் வியக்க வைத்தார்.

தஞ்சை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியராக ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் இருந்த சமயத்தில்தான் தமிழகத்தை சுனாமி தாக்கியது. அப்போது நாகை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியராக இருந்து வந்த வீரசண்முகமணி திறமையாக செயல்படவில்லை என்று குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்தது. இதையடுத்து நாகைக்கு மாற்றப்பட்டார் ராதாகிருஷ்ணன். பின்னர் அங்கு சுனாமி வேகத்தில் இவர் செயல்பட்டு பாதிக்கப்பட்டோருக்கு நிவாரணம் கிடைப்பதற்கும், தேடுதல் வேட்டையை முடுக்கி விடுவதற்கும் கடுமையாக உழைத்தார். இவரது திறமையான செயல்பாடுகள் அப்போது அனைவராலும் பாராட்டப்பட்டது.

இவரது சேவையை அப்போது முதல்வராக இருந்த ஜெயலலிதா மிகச் சரியாக பயன்படுத்தி மக்களுக்கு ராதாகிருஷ்ணனின் நிர்வாகத் திறமை பயன்பட உதவினார்.

2000 முதல் 2001 வரை சென்னை மாநகராட்சி ஆணையராகவும் செயல்பட்டார். பின்னர் நிதித்துறையிலும், கல்வித்துறையிலும் துணைச் செயலாளர், இணைச் செயலாளர், கூடுதல் செயலாளர், சிறப்புச் செயலாளர் என பல்வேறு பொறுப்புகளை வகித்தார்.

2009ம் ஆண்டு டெல்லியில் உள்ள ஐ.நா. வளர்ச்சித் திட்டத்தின் இயற்கைப் பேரிடர் நிர்வாகப் பிரிவின் இந்தியப் பிரிவு உதவி இயக்குநராகவும், தலைவராகவும் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறார்.

தற்போது மீண்டும் தமிழக அரசுப் பணிக்குத் திரும்புகிறார் ராதாகிருஷ்ணன். முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதாவால் புதிதாக உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ள திட்ட அமலாக்கத்துறையின் செயலாளராக ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் பொறுப்பேற்கிறார்.

With power tariff hike, for many, below 500 units to be domestic target

The solution is to learn how to keep consumption below eight units a day

With power charges hitting the roof, all that the domestic consumers in the State would have to think of at present is how to restrict their consumption below 500 units. Beyond that level, there is not even an iota of subsidy.

Hence, as almost all the consumers have been using various appliances without much concern for the electricity consumed and also has become virtually dependent\ or addicted to many, the solution is to learn how to curb their consumption below eight units a day. Thus, you will have 20 units as cushion.

The table, accompanying this news item, does not purport to contain all the appliances but has all the most popular ones commonly used, especially by middle, lower middle and the lower classes. The consumption of these appliances might vary depending upon the quality and size of the appliances.

Refrigerator's use is invariably round-the-clock in order to preserve the perishables and hence nothing much could be done on that score.

Keeping an eye on the power guzzlers like geysers is imperative.

Otherwise, they would singe you literally and figuratively. Similarly, need-based usage of air-conditioners would be prudent. Indiscriminate use of frequently used appliances such as fans, lights and television sets should be totally avoided as that could save a substantial amount of electricity though their consumption might look pretty small.

However, appliances like mobile chargers, which have become indispensable in the modern world, are said to consume only in milliwatts. Hence, there need be no worry.

A number of companies have made it a point to mention their ratings given by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, an organisation coming under the broad purview of the Union Power Ministry.

This could help one identify the less power consuming appliance.

First we have roads that don't last for one rain. No matter we see it year after year during rains we won't fix it.
Then we grant license to people who can't spell word "drive".
Then we have people who doesn't follow any good practices on road.
Then we float safety rules.
Then we have cops who let people off the hook for biriyanis.

Then we have people in public (and government) in denial mode who denies that the problems exist and vouch that we are doing extremely great compared to some jungle /reserve forest area in Orrisa or WB and claim that we are fastest growing in universe

Where will you start to fix the problem?

When did Mahatma Gandhi become "Father of the Nation"? #DefeatCongress #UselessUPA

The central government has been unable to answer to a Right to Information (RTI) question put up by a ten-year old schoolgirl from Lucknow, Aishwarya Parashar, asking the year when Mahatma Gandhi was conferred with the title of 'Father of the Nation'.

In what can be termed as an eye-opener, the government sent a reply to her query, stating that they do not have specific documents to prove if Gandhi was honoured with this title.
Parashar said that she consulted her teachers and parents before filing a RTI to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in February last year.

"I was reading my Class 5 social studies textbook, so there was a
lesson about Mahatma Gandhi; it said that Mahatma Gandhi is referred to as 'Father of the Nation'. So, a question came to my mind regarding the year when he was conferred with this title.

There was nothing mentioned in my book. So, I asked my teachers, they had no clue. Then, I asked my parents, they didn't know and neither did I find any information on Google. So, my parents suggested that I file a Right to Information (RTI) to the Prime Minister's Office," said Parashar.

After the PMO was unable to respond to her query, her application was forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs which in turn forwarded to the National Archives.

The reply from the National Archives stated that the organisation would make available all the required documents to Parashar, so that she could undertake her research.

"When I sent a letter to the prime minister's office, so they sent a reply saying that they had no specific information regarding the same. So, then my RTI was forwarded to the home ministry and they had no answer as well, so then it was forwarded to National Archives and they too did not have any information. They told me that if I want to research on this subject, then I can go there and conduct my research," she said.

According to media reports, the National Archives did not have public records regarding the concerned title. (ANI)

* ஜெயலலிதாவுக்கு நான் வக்காலத்து வாங்கவேண்டியதில்லை. அவருடைய நடவடிக்கைகள் பொதுவாக எனக்குப் பிடிக்காது. ஆனால் இந்த மின்சார விஷயத்தில் அவர் செய்ததை நான் முழுதும் ஆதரிக்கிறேன்.

* கடந்த திமுக ஆட்சியின்போதும், இப்போது இருப்பதைப்போல மின் பற்றாக்குறை இருந்தது. ஆனால் அப்போது வெளியிலிருந்து அதிக விலைக்கு மின்சாரம் வாங்கப்பட்டது. மக்களுக்கும் தொழிற்சாலைகளுக்கும் விற்கப்பட்ட விலையோ குறைவு. விளைவு, மின் வாரியத்துக்குக் கடுமையான நஷ்டம்.

* ஜெயலலிதா ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் அதிக விலைக்கு வெளியிலிருந்து மின்சாரம் வாங்குவது நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. அதன் விளைவுதான் அதிகரித்த மின் வெட்டு.

* மின் வாரியம் ஒரு யூனிட்டுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் சராசரி விலை எவ்வளவு என்பதைக் கணித்து, அதனை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து விலை உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதிலும்கூட அனைத்து வீடுகளுக்கும் மானியம் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது.

* கொள்முதல் விலை யூனிட்டுக்கு சுமார் 5.75 ரூபாயாம். ஆனால் முதல் 200 யூனிட்டுக்கு ரூ. 3, அடுத்த 300 யூனிட்டுக்கு ரூ. 4 என்று ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டுக்கும் மானியம் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. இதற்குமேல் பயன்படுத்துபவர்களுக்கும், எந்த லாபமும் இன்றி, அடக்க விலைக்கேதான் விற்கிறார்கள். இதில் எப்படிக் குறை காண முடியும்?

* சில பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனத் தொழிற்சாலைகளுக்கு ஒரு யூனிட் ரூ. 2.50 அல்லது ரூ. 3.00 (அல்லது இப்படிப்பட்ட குறைவான அளவில்) என்று தடையில்லாத மின்சாரம் தருவதாக தமிழக அரசு ஒப்பந்தம் போட்டிருப்பதாகச் சொல்கிறார்கள். இது எனக்குப் பிரச்னையாகத் தெரியவில்லை. இதுபோன்ற ஒப்பந்தம் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட காலகட்டத்துக்கு என்றுதான் இருக்கும். அதன்பின், சந்தை விலைக்கு விற்பார்கள். இப்படியான மானியம் கொடுத்தால்தான் அந்த நிறுவனம் தமிழகத்தில் தன் ஆலையை நிறுவும். ஆலை வந்தால்தான், வேலை வாய்ப்புகள் மட்டுமின்றி வரி வருமானமும் கிடைக்கும். அந்தக் காரணத்துக்காக குறைந்த விலை மின்சாரத்தை இந்நிறுவனங்களுக்கு அரசு தருவதை நான் ஆதரிக்கிறேன்.

* மின்வெட்டைத் தடுக்க, மிக வேகமாக அடுத்த 10,000 மெகாவாட் அளவுக்கான மின்சாரத்தை உற்பத்தி செய்ய ஆலைகளை நிறுவுவதைத் தவிர வேறு வழியே இல்லை. மேலும் மின்சாரத்தை அதிகமாக உற்பத்தி செய்யும்போது, அதன் கொள்முதல் விலை குறையவும் வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது. ஆனால் யுடிலிடி (நீர், மின்சாரம் போன்றவை) விலைகளைப் பொருத்தவரை அவை கீழ்நோக்கிப் போனதாகச் சரித்திரம் இல்லை. வேகமாக மேல்நோக்கிப் போகாமல் இருந்தால் போதும்.

* பணவீக்கம் என்பதையும் மனத்தில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். பெட்ரோல் விலை ஏறுகிறது. கரியின் விலை ஏறுகிறது. ஆனால் மின்சாரம் மட்டும் ஆண்டாண்டாக அதே விலைக்கே கிடைக்கவேண்டும் என்று எதிர்பார்ப்பது நியாயமில்லை.

If Cap10 joins DMK, then i will vote only 49o.
I dont think, he will suicide himself by joining with DMK.
He can not keep on switching the sides and claim that he is the 3rd alternative.
Even 2011, he joined with ADMK only, because he needs some MLAs for his party to be recognised.
The road ahead of him is bit tough. Neither he has big money like DMK or ADMK, nor huge vote bank.
He has to work more on the grounds.
Pudukottai by-election is acid test for Cap10. I heard through my friends in PDKT, that DMDK is strong there. In 2011, itself CPI was not willing to accept Pudukottai, because of "Periannan arasu".

Few advantage for Cap10 in the long run..:
a. No Secondary leader in ADMK. do people vote for Sasi or OPS or "thirunavukkarasu? t.arasu might join any time in ADMK.
b. Too many leaders in DMK and party will be split after thatha.
c. Cong is in Coma and anytime, it can be sent to graveyard.
d. His vote bank, so far significantly higher than Vaiko, BJP and Commi(di)es.

So if he maintains neutral stand with credible "Political" activities, he can be the 3rd option.

I will never ever vote for DMK. Whomever i talk, people are criticizing JJ, but i never heard thatha is better than JJ.

Sankaran koil By-election also, DMK, BSP lost their votes, whereas DMDK gained more than 100%, MDMK showed their strength.

Yesterday, i read thuglak. Cho mentioned that DMK's vote share is decreased drastically. He did not mention anything bad about Cap10, unlike the Jalra(s).(Dinamalar etc..)

i did not read in any media, that Cho pass on any comments about Cap10, after JJ shown the door for Cap10? i think, he maintains silence in the matter of Cap10.

Vaiko started party way back in 90s. Ivaru "nadai" payanam ponathu than micham(sarkarai viyadhi?). Ever his vote bank went beyound 8%?

Name 1 party in TN that is so successful as DMDK against cash for vote culture..

Why should this be considered negative, as a society develops the divorce rate also goes up, this happens around the world. One reason is female empowerment where women feel empowered (both mentally and financially) enough to walk out of marriages.Another reason, in more advanced society both the couple tend to work which sometimes leads to further stress in relationship.

Just look at the states that follow TN; AP, Kerela, Karnataka, Maharastra and HP. All these are some of the developed states in India.

True Inherently I am happy for the news but look at the title of the article and it is not in good taste. Chennai TOI has some agenda and that is always showing Tamils as different from other India and that is the part I dont like.

The article should highlight what you said and show these states as developed but this article is written in different Taste that's why i say Chennai TOI has some master agenda playing with integrity of India. It shows their jealousy towards TN's growth.

Meenalochani of Madharai was saved from an indigent family. The Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW) sponsored her education till she completed B.Sc. and B.Ed. Toady, she works as a teacher in a private school.
Priya of Usilampatti holds a bachelors degree in Chemistry and is now pursuing MCA. S. Ranjitham (17) of Moopapatti, sixth child of an agricultural labourer, and M. Thenmozhi (19) of Usilampatti are pursuing nursing.
They are living examples of how a State's tough stand, public awareness campaigns and committed intervention combined to eliminate the heinous practice of female infanticide in the obscure hamlet of Usilampatti.
The first-generation survivors of what was once a customary practice associated with family honour and prejudiced view of the girl child as an economic burden signify the positive social change in Usilampatti in Madurai district; a change brought about by the efforts of the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW), Tamil Nadu, and its Mother-Child Welfare Project, and State intervention at various levels.
About 1,900 children were rescued by the organisation during a campaign spanning two decades and covering 320 villages. The benefits were two-fold. While the survivors were helped to pursue education at various levels — some have even formed self-help groups — not a single case of female infanticide has been reported from these parts since 2000.
Success stories

Many girls have enrolled at the ICCW-Vasantham Community College at Madharai near Usilampatti to be trained in life skills, communication skills, computer literacy and functional knowledge of English.
Seeli Pramil, tutor, nursing course, said they offered DTP, hardware servicing and home appliances servicing in the first-year and fashion design and health assistant courses in the second year.
These are unmistakeable signs that Uslimapatti has buried its despicable past and the ICCW is seen as a benefactor. But, when it opened a branch in Usilampatti in 1988, it was an uphill struggle for the ICCW.
Says M. Pechiammal (50) of Nalliveeranpatti (one km from Usilampatti): “I shudder to think about those times; a practice where only the first girl child would be spared. If the family bears another girl child, the milky sap from an Oleander (Yerukkum) shrub or Cactus (Kalli) plant will be squeezed, mixed with castor oil and fed into the newborn's throat.”
Valli Annamalai, honorary secretary, Mother-Child Welfare Project, ICCW, Madurai, recalls that it was a series of shocking media exposes of the practice in the late Eighties that prompted the State government to act.
The elders in the village would not brook our presence, said Rathinam of Kalloothu, a social worker with ICCW from its early years. “When they sighted our jeep, they would go inside their homes and slam the doors shut.”
The practice was also rampant in Andipatti, Uthapanaickanur, Thottappanaickanur, Madharai, Poochapatti, Maanoothu, Alligundam, Kodanayakanpatti and Kalloothu. Contrary to the misconception that female infanticide was confined among Mukkulathors especially Kallars, it was widespread among most subaltern castes, including Dalits.
As infanticide was happening with the tacit collusion of the women in the family, the first task for the ICCW was to sensitise and engage the women in the community where even talking about ‘penn sisu kolai' was considered taboo. Slowly, the ICCW began to win the confidence of the womenfolk through the informal counselling sessions with pregnant women where they discussed gender equality.
“The key to the success was in winning over the women and getting them to deliver at the hospital,” said Rathinam.

Sad statistic.. It is critical to emphasize family values. This doesnt show women independance.. only shows that men have not been living up to basic standards. I pin the blame more on men based on my personal info. I know of dozens of cases where the the male partner deserves a royal boot.. Many women are silently suffering.. Again its not a stereotype.. there are quite a few women cases, I know where the lady is so unlady like..

On the whole, this imbalance and this outlook towards divorce is very unhealthy for both the couples and the society.

For all SSC forumers, we must take an oath to treat our spouses properly with respect and also not allow them to disrespect us, as well. There are some good skills that can be learned and tons of great relationship books are available. Even if we are already having great relationship, we must strive to scale a new peak. I highly encourage all of us to acquire some of these skills and enjoy a great life ahead.

Family is the foundation of the society and if it grows weak, the entire society will rot under its weight.

Lighter moments apart.. seeing his kind of value erosion and living pseudo lives where the spouses dont even care for the other is real painful.

I will keep raising the need for individual responsibility and family values whereever possible.. They say in a nice marriage, 1+1 is not 2, but 11.. but what i also find it true in bad/failed marriages, -1 + (-1) ends up as -2..

Whats sadder is if there are kids, they end up paying bigger price.. so in effect due to egotistical actions of some spineless characters, even the future of the society is screwed up.

We must educate all men and women about to be married to stand on good values.

Those are superficial values.. imposed for the sake for traditions.. there are some absolutes.. unless one come from a man eating barbarian value system... there is a tendancy to either forcibly follow ahimsa .. now if they dont.. you got cops, jails etc.. but if the value system is superficial then it will flare up .. thats what happ in US when katrina came onshore.. now one may not go to the extent of applying to everything under the sun, but atleast to their own spouse, whom they married for good or better..

So asking spouses to respect each other and treat them courteously as they are the significant other in the life journey.. why should that be a question .. perhaps I need to ping your wife and ask her opinion.. if this guy deserves a dinner.. :D

I only highlighted that we should not forget that as humans we tend to have some things differentiated from animals.. (though it may be hard to notice the difference at times)..

Again KT I dont want to debate on the obvious.. I am not stressing any particular set of values as imposed by outsiders.. but as couple, its a platform for the society to scale new heights or fall to abyss.. In the last 15-20 yrs, women are getting more financial stability, more social interactions.
This has caused more false "independent" rights and divorces are increasing.
I have seen so many incidents where only the girl was responsible.
1. One of my friend, just walked off from FN room because the girl told about "her Mouna Ragam" story. He asked only one question.."Past is past. do we want to move ahead or not". she said no and she preferred to stay in the hostel till her parents agree for her re-marriage. imagine..the situation..
2. Another guy.. he was in Delhi.. parents fixed an alliance. he has sent a "mobile" to the girl so that he can talk to her. due to some constraints, the mrg date was fixed after 6 months. the girl just picked up another boy friend and after 15 days of marriage, they broke.
3. A couple married in 90s broke their relationship, because husband's business did not go well and she does not want to live with him anymore(after 13 yrs). she went with another guy..this poor husband now working for 3k salary in his native and his daughter is in College.

4. Soup boys culture neriyave vanthuruchu. When i was in bangalore, i used to come to Chennai for every 15 days. that time spencer is very famous for kadalai, mokkai.. My friends used to pick up GF easily in spencer.. i was shocked. higher secondary school girls, college girls..ithule bayanakara comedy.. a girl will be going with 2 boy friends separately. Vidiya, Vidiya oru Periya panchayathu panni vechen.."pazhavanthangal" station-le ukkarnthukittu. (between those boys)..
one of the couple separated just before their planned "alaipayuthe" marriage.

Punjab and Haryana are very westernized from outlook prespective but their child sex ratio is 750/1000 F/M.

I meant western interms of human values, contemporary in thinking rather in visible things like clothes make up etc.
Not everything is good at west either so don't get me wrong but divorce is nothing to be ashamed off after all marriage is a relationship between a man and woman if it doesnt work they should have a choice to get out of it.

I just want to point out because in TOI kind of media they always portray Chennai and TN as conservative etc but to me we are very modern in terms of thinking traditional interms of dresses or culture which is something we are proud off.

I never ever read it in any of the media. But on the contrary, thatha told in 1 of the meeting that he is ready to call Cap10 in the alliance.
this is one of the "Raja thanthiram" by thatha to float these rumors.
actual fact is, thatha tried to prevent his alliance with JJ. He did that through cong. Through Cong, they asked him to stand alone, so that similar to 2006, he will split the votes for ADMK.
similar rumor came in 2006, when Cap10 actually dented ADMK victory. Everybody told, that he got "huge" cash from Cong and DMK. its unfortunate, that still rumors are going like this.
Anyway, lets see. It is going to be tough for Cap10. but he will not go to the level of Vaiko or PMK.

Tamil Nadu will now have five tiger reserves with the addition of Meghamalai area in Theni district and Sathyamangalam in Erode district, according to chief wildlife warden Rakesh Vasisht. Vaishisht disclosed this during a workshop on Tamil Nadu State Environment Policy here on Thursday. TN currently has three tiger reserve which include Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) in Tirunelveli, Top Slip in Pollachi, and Mudumalai.

He said the proposal to have a tiger reserve in Sathyamangalam has been sent and there are plans to set up another one at Meghamalai in Theni district. Vashisht said that at present, the state’s forests house 166 tigers and is ranked fifth behind Maharashtra which has 169 tigers. Interestingly, when it comes to conservation, the state has added 87 tigers, the highest number among the states when compared with last census.

He said this is a big achievement for the state when compared with other provinces as it’s forest area is less than other states.

He highlighted the state environment policy and said it should also protect eco-sensitive zones. He also said the state is rigidly following conservation guidelines and has rejected lot of industry proposals in a bid to conserve the biodiversity of the state.

How much people are angry with DMK, is evident on their votes % in Sankaran Koil byelection. DMK lost nearly 30,000 votes in the last 9 months..that too JJ raised bus fare, milk price, and increase in power price was on the cards. In spite of all drawbacks against ruling party, DMK lost 30000 votes.

கேள்வி : இந்தியாவின் பல மாநிலங்களில், புதிய தொழிற்சாலை ஒன்று வருகிறது என்றால், உடனே சுற்றுச் சூழல் பாதிப்பு, விவசாயிகளுக்குப் பாதிப்பு, கிராமங்களுக்குப் பாதிப்பு என்று கூறிக் கொண்டு, கம்யூனிஸ்ட் உள்ளிட்ட பல கட்சிகளும் கூற, அதனால் தூண்டி விடப்படும் பொதுமக்களும் போராட்டத்தில் குதித்து விடுகிறார்கள். இதனால் தொழிற்சாலை வராமலே போகிறது. ஆனால், குஜராத்தில் மட்டும் தொடர்ந்து தொழிற்சாலைகள் வந்த வண்ணம் உள்ளன. இது எப்படி முடிகிறது? மக்களை மயக்க என்ன வசிய மருந்தைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறீர்கள்?

பதில் : இந்த அரசு எதைச் செய்தாலும், இங்குள்ள மக்களுக்கு இடையூறாக எதையும் செய்து விடாது என்ற நம்பிக்கையை வளர்த்து வைத்திருக்கிறேன். அதுதான் அந்த வசிய மருந்து. இது உடனே ஏற்பட்டு விடாது. பல ஆண்டுகளாக நேர்மையின் மூலமும், மக்கள் மீது காட்டும் அக்கறையின் மூலமும் இந்த நம்பிக்கையை உருவாக்கி உள்ளேன். ஒருபுறம் நாங்கள் தொழில் துறையில் பிரமாண்டமான வெற்றிகளை ஈட்டி வந்தாலும், குஜராத்தில் விவசாய நிலங்கள் ஒன்றும் குறைந்து போகவில்லை. கடந்த 10 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு சாகுபடி செய்யப்பட்ட விவசாய நிலம் 106 லட்சம் ஹெக்டேராக இருந்தது. தற்போது அது 145 லட்சம் ஹெக்டேராக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. தொழில் துறையில் நவீன முறைகளைக் கையாளும் குஜராத், விவசாயத் துறையிலும் நவீன அறிவியல் அணுகுமுறையைக் கையாள்வதுதான் இதற்கு முக்கியக் காரணம். நவீன தொழில்நுட்பம், மேம்படுத்தப்பட்ட தண்ணீர் மேலாண்மை, கிராமப்புறக் கட்டமைப்பு, தனியார் முதலீடு போன்ற விரிவான திட்டங்கள், விவசாயத்தை லாபகரமாக்கும் என்பதை, நாங்கள் எங்கள் செயல்பாடுகளின் மூலம் நிரூபித்துள்ளோம். இன்று குஜராத் விவசாயி கர்வத்துடன் விவசாயம் செய்கிறான். கடந்த 10 வருடங்களில், ஒரு விவசாயி அடையும் வருமானம் ஆறு மடங்காக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. மாநில விவசாய வருமானம் 14 ஆயிரம் கோடியிலிருந்து நம்ப முடியாத அளவிற்கு, 80 ஆயிரம் கோடி ரூபாயாக வளர்ந்துள்ளது. இன்று உலகளவில் மிகவும் தேவைப்படுகிற சுற்றுச்சூழல் குறித்த அக்கறையோடுதான், குஜராத் எந்தத் திட்டத்தையும் செயல்படுத்துகிறது. நம் நாட்டிலேயே தட்பவெப்ப நிலை மாறுதலுக்கான தனித் துறை, குஜராத்தில் மட்டுமே செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. சூரிய சக்தி மற்றும் வாயு சக்திக்காக தனிப்பட்ட கொள்கைகளை உருவாக்கியுள்ள ஒரே முதல் மாநிலம், இந்தியாவில் குஜராத் மட்டுமே. இங்குள்ள பானஸ்கந்தாவில் அமையும் சூரிய சக்தி பூங்கா ஆசியாவிலேயே பெரியது. இது கூடிய சீக்கிரம் குஜராத்தின் அடையாளமாகவே மாறிப் போகும். நிச்சயமாக குஜராத், கூடிய சீக்கிரம் உலகின் சூரிய சக்தித் தலைநகராக உருவெடுக்கும். இப்படி, விவசாயத்தைப் பாதிக்காத அளவில், மாசு ஏற்படாத வகையில், மக்களுக்கு வேலை வாய்ப்புகள் அமையும் வகையில், எங்களது தொழில் கொள்கையை நாங்கள் வடிவமைத்துள்ளதால்தான், பிற மாநிலங்களில் எழும் பிரச்னைகள் இங்கு எழுவதில்லை.

மத்திய அமைச்சர்களில் 14 பேர் ஊழல் வாதிகள்’ என்று சொல்லி இந்திய அளவில் பெரும் அதிர்வுகளை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார், அண்ணா ஹஜாரே குழுவைச் சேர்ந்த அரவிந்த் கெஜ்ரிவால். அந்த 14 பேரில், மூவர் தமிழர் கள். ப.சிதம்பரம், மு.க.அழகிரி போன்றவர்கள் மீது ஏற்கெனவே பல்வேறு குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் உண்டு. ஆனால், முதல்முறையாக ஒரு புகார் மத்தியக் கப்பல் துறை அமைச்சரான ஜி.கே.வாசன் மீது கூறப்பட்டது.

குஜராத் மாநிலம் கண்ட்லா துறைமுகத்தில் குத்தகை அடிப்படையில் நிலஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்ட விவகாரத்தில்தான் ஜி.கே.வாசன் மீது குற்றம் சாட்டு கிறார்.

கண்ட்லா துறைமுகத்தின் வசம் 2.20 லட்சம் ஏக்கர் நிலம் இருக்கிறது. இதில், சுமார் 16 ஆயிரம் ஏக்கர் நிலத்தை உப்பு உற்பத்திக்கு என்று 30 வருடக் குத் தகைக்கு 1960-ம் ஆண்டு துறைமுக நிர்வாகம் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்தது. இது ஏல முறையில் அல்லாமல், நியமன முறையில் நடந்தது. குத்தகைத் தொகையும் மிகக் குறைவாகவே நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டது. துறைமுக நிலங்களின் குத்தகைக் காலம் முடிந்த பிறகு, 2004-ம் ஆண்டு வரையில் நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால், இப்போதும் குத்தகைத் தொகை மாற்றப்படவில்லை. 'குத்தகைத் தொகையை மாற்றி அமைப்பது தொடர்பாக பல்வேறு துறைகளுடன் துறைமுக நிர்வாகம் கலந்து ஆலோசித்து வருவதால், குத்தகைத் தொகையை உயர்த்தவில்லை’ என்று காரணம் சொல்லப்பட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில், 2007-2008-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான துறைமுகக் கணக்கு வழக்குகளை ஆராய்ந்த துறைமுகத்தின் துணைத்தலைவரும் தலைமைக் கண்காணிப்பு அதிகாரியுமான மனோரஞ்சன் குமார், 'கண்ட்லா துறைமுகத்தில் பல்வேறு தலைவர்களால் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட நில ஒதுக்கீட்டில் முறைகேடுகள் நிகழ்ந்திருக்கிறது’ என்று ஓர் அறிக்கை சமர்ப்பித்தார். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து, விசார ணையை மத்தியப் புலனாய்வுத் துறை மேற்கொண்டது. அண்மையில், சி.பி.ஐ. தனது விசாரணையை முடித்து, அறிக்கையை நீதிமன்றத்திடம் அளித்துள்ளது.

இதற்கிடையில், கடந்த 2010-ம் ஆண்டு, குத்தகை நிலத்தை 2004 முதல் 2011 வரையிலான காலகட்டத்துக்கு உரிமையைப் புதுப்பித்து ஆணை பிறப்பித்தது மத்தியக் கப்பல் துறை அமைச்சகம். இதனை அனுமதித்ததாகவே, ஜி.கே. வாசன் மீது குற்றச்சாட்டு கிளம்பி இருக்கிறது.

இதற்கு ஜி.கே.வாசன் என்ன பதில் சொல்கிறார்?

''கண்ட்லா துறைமுகம் தொடர்பாக என் மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டு முற்றிலும் அடிப்படை அற்றது. கண்ட்லா துறைமுக நிலக்குத்தகை தொடர்பான அறிக்கை 2008-ம் ஆண்டு முதன்முறையாகத் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டபோது, நான் கப்பல் துறை அமைச்சர் பொறுப்பில் இல்லை.

மே 2009-ல் ஐக்கிய முற்போக்குக் கூட்டணி இரண்டாவது முறையாக ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த பின்னரே, நான் அந்தத் துறைக்குப் பொறுப்பு ஏற்றேன். அதன் பின்னர், துறைமுகங்கள் வசம் உள்ள நில ஒதுக்கீடுகளை சீர்படுத்தவும், துறைமுகங்களுக்கு அதிக வருமானம் கிடைக்க ஏதுவாகவும் கப்பல் துறை அமைச்சகம் புதிய முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொண்டது.

கண்ட்லா துறைமுகத்திலும் சந்தை விலை அடிப்படையில் குத்தகைத் தொகையை மாற்றி அமைக்க நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன. நிலங்களின் சரியான விலையைக் கண்டறிய, கண்ட்லா துறைமுகம் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட நில மதிப்பீட்டாளர் ஒருவரை நியமித்தது. முன்மாதிரி ஏலத்தின் அடிப்படையில் 10 மனைகளுக்கு ஏலம் விடப்பட்டு, அதன் அடிப்படையில் ஏக்கருக்கு 13,570 ரூபாய் என்ற அளவில் சந்தை விலை நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்தத் தொகை கண்ட்லா துறைமுகப் பொறுப்புக் கழகத்தால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டு, அனுமதிக்காக பெருந்துறைமுகங்களின் கட்டண ஆணையத்துக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அந்த ஆணையம்தான் துறைமுகக் கட்டணங்களை நிர்ணயம் செய்ய அமைக்கப்பட்ட சட்டபூர்வமான ஆணையம் ஆகும். அந்த ஆணையத்திடம் இருந்து இதுதொடர்பான அனுமதி விரைவில் வரும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. அந்த மாற்றி அமைக்கப்பட்ட நிலத்தீர்வை ஜூலை 2010 முதல் முன் தேதியிட்டு செயல்படுத்தப்படும்.

நிலத்தீர்வை அமைப்பது தொடர்பான விவரங்கள் டெல்லி உயர் நீதிமன்றத்திடம் தெரி விக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. நீதிமன்றமும் மேலும் ஒரு முன்மாதிரி ஏலத்தை மேற்கொள்ளவும், மின் ஏல முறையை முயற்சி செய்யவும் யோசனை கூறியுள்ளது. இந்த விவகாரம் நீதிமன்றத்தில் இருப்பதால், நிலக் குத்தகைகளைப் புதுப்பிப்பது பற்றியோ, குத்தகைதாரர்களை நீக் குவது பற்றியோ, புதிய ஏலத்தை மேற்கொள்வதுபற்றியோ... எந்த ஒரு முடிவும் நீதிமன்றத்தின் உத்தரவின் அடிப்படையில்தான் எடுக்க முடியும்'' என்கிறார் ஜி.கே.வாசன்.

இது, டி.ஆர். பாலு அமைச்சராக இருந்த காலத்தில் நடந்தது என்று இன்னொரு செய்தி கிளம்பியதும்... ''எனது ஆட்சியில் இது நடக்கவில்லை. சம்பந்தப்பட்ட துறைமுகத்தின் பொறுப்பாளர்களே இதைச் செய்து கொள்ளலாம் என்ற விதி இருந்தது'' என்று பாலு விளக்கம் அளித்துள்ளார். இப்படி ஒரு புகார் எழுப்பப்பட்டதும், சோனியாவைச் சந்தித்து தன்னுடைய விளக்கத்தை ஜி.கே.வாசன் வைத் ததாகவும் அதனை சோனியா ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.

அரவிந்த் எழுப்பி இருக்கும் குற்றச்சாட்டில் ஏதோ ஒரு சிக்கல் இருக்கிறது என்று தெளிவாகி உள்ளது. விசாரணை செய்ய வேண்டியது பிரதமர்தான்!

Karuna flays Jaya's Vision 2023 document: Looks for ‘magic wand’ to ensure investment

Continuing with his criticism of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's Vision 2023 document, DMK president M Karunanidhi on Saturday wondered if there was a magic wand or lamp to ensure the Rs 15 lakh crore investments required for the initiative.

"The government had in its previous budget on August 4, 2011 said efforts were on to prepare the Vision 2025 document. Suddenly it has been changed as Vision 2023,"
Karunanidhi said in a statement.

"Does it keep in line with the Chief Minister's numerological beliefs where the total sum works to seven, her lucky number", :lol: he asked. Wondering if "there is a magic wand or lamp," to ensure the investment of Rs 15 lakh crore, he wanted to know where the money will come from.

Citing an anecdote, he indicated that the project will not materialise. Jayalalithaa had recently unveiled her government's Vision 2023 document, envisaging a substantial hike in investment in various areas including infrastructure and upgrading the lifestyle and living standards of the people of the state by that year.

Karunanidhi had cast doubts over it saying there were no adequate funds to implement it. On the protests scheduled for April 9 and 15 against the ruling AIADMK's "anti-people" policies including revision of power tariff, bus fares and "foisting" of cases against his partymen, he exhorted his supporters and people to turn up in good numbers to "sound a warning" to the AIADMK government.

அப்பாவின் முகத்தில் லேசான பயம் தெரிந்தது.

"இதுக்கு அவன் ஒத்துபானா?"

"ஒத்துகிட்டு தான் ஆகணும்.

"சரி ப்ராஜெக்ட் உங்க கைல வந்த உடனே என்ன பண்ணுவீங்க?"

இதுல ப்ராஜக்ட் மேனேஜர்னு ஒருத்தர் இருப்பாரு.
இவரது தான் பெரிய தலை.
ப்ராஜெக்ட் சக்சஸ் ஆனாலும், ஃபெயிலியர் ஆனாலும் இவரு தான் பொறுப்பு."

எங்களுக்கு எந்த பிரச்னை வந்தாலும் இவரு கிட்ட போய் சொல்லலாம்."

"எல்லா பிரச்னையும் தீர்த்து வச்சிடுவார?"

"ஒரு பிரச்சனைய கூட தீர்க்க மாட்டாரு.

இப்படி எதாவது சொல்லி அவன குழப்புவோம்.

"ப்ராஜக்டை முடிய போற சமயத்துல நாங்க எதோ பயங்கரமான
ஒன்ன பண்ணி இருக்குறமாதிரியும், அவனால அத புரிஞ்சிக்க

Waiting vetti at Chrompet MIT Campus all day.

Payyan IIT JEE ezhdharar. Breakfast, Lunch ellam kodukkaradhu namma poruppu.

MIT is a big campus but as usual for Anna Univ, buildings and facilities are very old and needs total revamping.

I even noticed similar old, weather beaten buildings and hostels in Guindy Campus of Anna Univ and NIT Trichy.

As I have been advocating, they can spend more money on the facilities and attract the best students from all over.

They have to compete with the Pvt sector colleges. Even increasing the fee is not a crime.

Welcome to MIT my Alma mater.

Dr Kalam was Aero student during 51 to 54 batch.

Mr Rajam Iyer was the founder president of this college and it started with post graduate speciality courses like Auto,Aero,Elex and Instrumentation during 1949 even before India became Republic and its first convacation was Honored by then Prime minster Mr J. Nehru.

What you are seeing is one part of campus there is one more part which is separated from main campus and it is near Chrompet Murugan Kovil where we have our grounds and some utilities etc.

Mr Sujata was our senior and he wrote a book called "Hostel Days" in Tamil and it describes a life of a college boy from south tamil nadu in MIT campus.

In India first time Ragging got prominence and it was discussed big time in parliament during 1955 because of Ragging death of a boy from southern districts happened in MIT.

Had great time during my college days even though I am day scholar. We had almost 20 years back good placements during our batch.

it is like nakheeran which projected thin majority for DMK in 2011 polls. It can not write DMK will sweep it .. so they put a "thin" majority...

Not only Dinamalar in our state most of our media (unless they exclusively funded by opposite camp) will lean toward government only to have a workable relationship which will spare them auto visits w/porul, case/court thollais. Sometimes it shows up in the form of government ads too.

CHENNAI: Students who took the IIT joint entrance examination on Sunday said it was easier than expected. "The first paper was simple but the second paper was of the usual difficulty level. I am expecting high marks," said a student.

The IIT-JEE 2012 was conducted on Sunday in 1,067 centres across the country. More than five lakh candidates, including around 9,000 in Tamil Nadu, took the test to qualify for nearly 10,000 seats in 15 Indian Institutes of Technology, Institutes of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and the Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad. The exam was conducted in six cities in Tamil Nadu.

There were 10 versions of the IIT-JEE 2012 and students had to answer two papers. Both papers had 20 questions each in physics, chemistry and mathematics. "The first paper was fairly similar to last year's. However, some of the questions in the second paper were lengthier than the ones in the 2011 test," said Ajay Antony, course director at TIME, an institute that trains students for the exam.

The pattern of the papers was also slightly different from previous years, and students had to answer for fewer marks. "Usually the two papers are of 240 marks each. This time, the first paper was for 210 marks and the second for 198," a student said. "The 'matrix match' types of questions were also absent this time," he said. For the first time, students had to mark their answers with pen and could take a copy of the answer sheet home.

Students who took the IIT-JEE this year are likely to be the last batch to do so in this format as the human resource development ministry is likely to introduce the Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test from the next academic year.

Fancy numbers likely to become dearer

The State Government has issued a draft amendment notification seeking public opinion, suggestions and objections if any, for an upward revision of the fee for fancy numbers while registering new vehicles. The notification has spared the fee for two-wheelers, while the same for cars are likely to go up by 100 per cent.

One of the Regional Transport Offices in Coimbatore during the peak registration period in the last ten days of March (shortly before the customs duty on cars went up) netted Rs. 5.30 lakh as fee for fancy numbers.

Going by statistics, four to five per cent of two-wheeler vehicle owners prefer to pay a fee for fancy numbers which was Rs. 2,000 till date. The same fee will continue as the Government is not willing to burden the middle income and salaried group.

At present, for cars with an invoice price of Rs. 4 lakh and less, the fee for fancy number (within the current 1,000 numbers on the allotment plan) is Rs. 5,000. The same is likely to increase to Rs.10,000.

For allotment of fancy number in the other series (not in the current series of allotment) the present fee of Rs. 8,000 is likely to become Rs. 16,000.

Similarly, in what is popularly known as Government numbers in Transport Department circles, (i.e., the powers for allotment of these numbers rest with the Government) the fee is going up from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 and from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 60,000.

Considering the invoice value of the vehicles being purchased and the profile of persons opting for fancy numbers, the fee would not be a deterrent and the hike would also mean substantial revenue for the Government, an official pointed out.

On perusal of suggestions and opinions besides objections, the amendment notification is likely to take shape as GO very shortly, official sources said.

The whole IIT JEE coomunity is abuzz with these 2 contradicting news headlines today.

Chumma rendu pera kettuttu, edhayavadhu ezhudharanga.

IIT JEE or any serious entrance exam will generally be tough as they have to do elimination.

This year JEE was as tough or easy as any other year. They changed the pattern and reduced the total marks but the no of questions were increased. This means less mark per question. With negative marks for wrong answers, it is a tricky situation.

Guys who could not comprehend this change of routine and change their tactics may lose more marks. Many could not complete. They gave 10- 15 minutes before the exam to study & analyse the question paper.

Nobody can predict the score till IIT management publishes the answers in their website.

This time the students were asked to mark the answers in BP black pen and they have been given a copy of the answer sheet. It is a welcome move as many parents used to complain earlier that their wards did better than the score they got.

Next year Sibal model may not kick in if IIT directors have their way. Lot of discussions are going on. But weightage for Boards Marks in Percentile is confirmed. Online JEE or usual style, Boards + JEE for admission or Only if they cross say 60% in boards, they will be eligible to write JEE and Boards + JEE score......

இதிலிருந்து ஒன்று தெரிகிறது. எப்படி ஹிந்தி என்பது தேசிய மொழியே ஆகாமல் மக்களின் மனதில் ஹிந்தி தான் தேசிய மொழி என்ற தோற்றத்தை இந்திய அரசு செய்ததோ , அதே போல் காந்திக்கு அதிகாரப் பூர்வமாக தேசத்தின் தந்தை என்ற பட்டதை யாரும் வழங்க வில்லை என்பதும் தெளிவாகிறது. காங்கிரஸ் அரசே அவரை தேசத்தின் தந்தை என்ற முத்திரையை குத்தி அதை மக்களுக்கும் வெற்றிகரமாக கொண்டு சேர்த்துள்ளனர் என்பதும் புலனாகிறது.

இப்படி கேள்வி கேட்ட அந்த குட்டிப் பெண்ணுக்கு வாழ்த்துகள். இப்படி பல கேள்விகளை இளைய தலைமுறை இப்போது கேட்க தொடக்கி விட்டார்கள். இதனால் பல மறைக்கப்பட்ட உண்மைகள் வெளிச்சத்திற்கு வரும். அதனால் இந்த நாட்டில் நீதி நிலைநாட்டப்படும் காலமும் வரும் எனத் தெரிகிறது.

MADURAI: DMDK leader Vijayakanth, whose marriage hall in Chennai was razed down during the previous DMK regime, is set for another battle to protect one more of his buildings, this time in Madurai.

The three-storied building in Mela Avani Moola street near the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple is one among the 790 buildings that has violated the regulation. The Madurai civic body has recently issued show-cause notices to all the building owners. Responding to the notice, Vijayakanth has retorted that the civic body was acting out of political vendetta to raze down his building. DMDK's urban district office functions in this building.

The officials of the civic body, however, denied the allegation and stated that it was not just Vijayakanth's building but other buildings that were found to have violated the norms were issued show-cause notices. "We haven't singled out that building alone for corrective action. It was in the larger interest of the public that we have embarked on regularising all the buildings in the vicinity of the temple," said a corporation official.

Driven by a public interest litigation filed in the Madurai bench of the Madras high court and the subsequent instruction from the district administration, the civic body started issuing show-cause notices to 790 buildings that have been constructed in violation of norms that stipulates buildings around one km radius of the temple should not be more than nine metres in height.

Replying to the show-cause notice slapped on his building based on a government order issued in 1997, Vijayakanth through his advocates said that his building was constructed before the government order was issued. "Besides, the building was constructed by another individual from whom Vijayakanth bought it in 1987. It was not built by Vijayakanth. So it is not fair to insinuate that Vijayakanth has violated law," the reply to the show-cause notice said.

Vijayakanth also claimed that when the building was constructed more than two decades back due plan approval was obtained from all authorities concerned. That apart, neither Vijayakanth nor owners of the other buildings of a similar nature were informed of the nine-metre height norm all these years. Hence this hasty move to threaten owners of demolition is politically motivated. "The civic body should immediately withdraw the show-cause notice. There seems to be no public interest in the civic body's move. However, Vijayakanth is ready to abide by the rules if there was genuine public interest. If the corporation goes ahead with its action, we would face the issue legally," the notice said.

Corporation commissioner (in - charge) Arumuga Nainar said he was yet to go through the reply from Vijayakanth. We are in the process of issuing the show cause notices. Everything is done as per law,'' he said.

FCI procures many lakhs of tonnes of rice from Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana and stores them in either the CWC or the TNWC on a rental basis depending upon storage capacity. They have preserved nearly 96,000 tonnes of rice procured from other states since 2009. However, the CWC has space to store 85,000 tonnes only. The FCI also stocks up nearly 2,000 tonnes of rice in the TNWC, Trichy.

According to government rules, FCI should supply grains stocked in warehouses on a first-in first-out (FIFO) policy. On the contrary, they pay more attention to rice procured in 2012 and stored in TNWC, alleged B Devadoss, a loadman in the CWC, Trichy.

As a consequence of the move, a few tonnes of rice procured in 2009 and stocked up in one of the 17 storage rooms in CWC become the worst to consume. So, quality officers from TNCSC refuse to purchase such rotten rice for distribution through PDS, says R Shanmuga Sundaram, another loadman.

“It is the same sambar everyday,” admits Suganya, a high school student, trying to reason the wastage at noon meal centres where she acknowledges food is passably palatable.

School students in Tiruchi district may soon get a break from the daily routine of rice, sambar and boiled egg. The monotonous menus are all set for a makeover with healthy and delicious alternatives like tomato rice, groundnut pulao and vegetable biryani to be prepared by noon meal workers.

The initiative to tweak noon meal menus with imagination, nutrition and variation was introduced by the district administration through a training programme by Chef Dhamu for noon meal workers from 25 centres on Tuesday.

While smells of roast spices wafting in the air and shrill whistles of a pressure cooker may have indicated a kitchen setting, the cooking demonstration by the celebrity chef was actually in the middle of the playground at a government school in Allur near Tiruchi.

“The obvious question is whether it is possible to prepare these dishes with the provisions allotted under the scheme and stick to the budget,” said District Collector Jayshree Muridharan who kick-started the pilot project. “No extra ingredients have been bought. These dishes can be prepared with whatever grains and vegetables provided everyday.”

As an experiment, noon meal workers prepared Tuesday's staple menu of sambar rice, boiled egg and groundnut sundal for 100 students. But Chef Dhamu , using the same ingredients turned out groundnut pulao, roasted potatoes and tossed eggs in a mixture of pepper and coriander powder.

“Not all that is served everyday is consumed by students. But it was heartening to see children polishing their plates,” said Ms.Muralidharan. She motivated noon meal workers, “You must take pride in your work, as you don the role of mothers by preparing hot food for scores of children.”

The women trained in the pilot programme would train workers from other centres during the summer vacation.

“I have seen students play ball with hard boiled eggs made in noon meal centres. For children to eat well, we need to cook well,” Mr.Dhamu told workers demonstrating how a dash of pepper or a smatter of chilli powder can spice up a meal.

Avoid food poisoning

Many of the workers were thrilled at receiving practical hints in offsetting excesses in salt, chilli powder and tamarind.

Insisting that safety and hygiene were paramount, he suggested, “If you wash all vegetables with water, turmeric and salt, you can rule out all chances of food poisoning,” said Mr.Dhamu. Though cleaning utensils, keeping cooking range spick and span, and covering all chopped vegetables were important, preparing and serving food with love was foremost, he said.

While Rs.14 is allotted per child covering firewood, oil , rice , centres are granted 70 paise per head to purchase vegetables and condiments. M.Uma, a worker from Kuriviyan kulam said, “It might be difficult to make all these dishes owing to escalating prices of daily provisions, but we can definitely provide students more variety in their mid-day meal.”

^^No uninterrupted power supply for IPL, says TANGEDCO

Further stating that the organisers of IPL had not made any request for uninterrupted supply during the cricket matches, TANGEDCO said that it has been informed by the organisers that they would avail power supply from nine 250KVA generators available with them for the flood lights.

“Therefore, the question of supplying electrical energy or power by the Government of Tamil Nadu or its instrumentalities for the 10 IPL-V T-20 matches to be played from April 4 onwards in the State of Tamil Nadu does not arise,” the communication read.

நீரிழிவுக்கு மருந்து

பெங்களூருவில் நடைபெற்ற ஆய்வு ஒன்றில் பசு கோமியத்தில் நீரிழிவு நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி இருப்பது கண்டறியப்பட்டுள்ளது. நீரிழிவு நோய் உள்ள எலிகளுக்கு வாய்மூலம் உட்கொள்ளும் வகையில் பசு கோமியம் 25 மிலி அளிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனையடுத்து அவை விரைவில் நோயில் இருந்து விடுபடுவது தெரியவந்தது. ஆயுர்வேத மருத்துவ முறையில் ஏற்கனவே கோமியம் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது. தோல் நோய், புற்றுநோய், இதய நோய், பால்வினை நோய்கள் மற்றும் எய்ட்ஸ் போன்ற நோய்களுக்கு கோமியத்தில் தயாரிக்கப்படும் மருந்துகள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. நோய் எதிர்ப்பு மருந்துகள், புற்றுநோய் மருந்துகள் எடுத்துக் கொள்வோர், அவற்றால் ஏற்படும் பக்கவிளைவுகளுக்கு ஆளாகின்றனர். பக்கவிளைவுகளில் இருந்து பாதுகாக்கவும், கோமியம் உதவுவது கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஆய்வுகளைத் தொடர்ந்து, கோமியத்தில் இருந்து பல்வேறு மருந்துகள் உருவாக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

தோல் நோய்களான எக்ஸைமா, அரிப்பு, படை, சொரி போன்றவைகளால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு பசுவின் கோமியத்தை பூசுவதன் மூலம் நோயிலிருந்து நிவாரணம் கிடைக்கிறது என்கின்றனர் ஆய்வாளர்கள். மேலும் புற்றுநோய், எய்ட்ஸ் போன்றவைகளுக்கும் கூட இது மருந்தாக பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது என்கின்றனர் மருத்துவர்கள்.

நினைவாற்றல் அதிகரிக்கும்

பசுவின் கோமியமானது உடலில் தேவையற்ற கெட்ட கொழுப்புகளை குறைக்கிறது. டென்சனை நீக்குகிறது. நினைவாற்றலை அதிகரிக்க உதவுகிறது என்கின்றனர் மருத்துவர்கள். அதேபோல் இதயம், மூளையின் சக்தியை வலுவாக்குகிறது. அதேபோல் வயதாவதை தடுப்பதாகவும் ஆய்வாளர்கள் கூறியுள்ளனர்.

'வர்த்தகப் பெயர்' (பிராண்டட்) இல்லாத தங்க நகைகளுக்கு 1 சதவிகிதம் உற்பத்தி வரி, இறக்குமதி செய்யப்படும் தங்கத்துக்கு 2 சதவிகிதமாக இருந்த சுங்கவரி 4 சதவிகிதமாக அதிகரிப்பு, இரண்டு லட்ச ரூபாய்க்கு மேல் தங்கம் மற்றும் வைர நகை வாங்குவோர், பான் கார்டு எண்ணைக் குறிப்பிடுவது கட்டாயம் என்பதுடன், தங்கம் வாங்குபவர் 1 சதவிகிதம் வரி செலுத்த வேண்டும் என்றும் பட்ஜெட்டில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால், ஒரு பவுன் தங்கத்தின் விலை சுமார் 1,000 ரூபாய் அதிகரிக்கும் நிலை உருவானது. மேலும், பான் கார்டு எண் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும் என்பதால், பெரிய விற்பனை எல்லாம் கணக்கில் வந்துவிடும், வரிப்பிரச்னை வரலாம் என்பதாலும், நாடு முழுவதும் தங்க நகை வியாபாரிகள் இதற்குக் கடும் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்தனர். மத்திய பட்ஜெட் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்ட மறுநாள், அதாவது மார்ச் 17 முதல், நாடு தழுவிய கடை அடைப்புப் போராட்டத்தில் இறங்கினர். ஆரம்பத்தில் பாராமுகம் காட்டிய அரசு, அதன் பிறகு, இறங்கி வந்துள்ளது.

அதன்பிறகு, நிதிஅமைச்சர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி யுடன் சுமார் இரண்டு மணி நேரம் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடந்தது. உற்பத்தி வரி விதிப்பால் தங்கத்தின் விலை உயரும். மேலும், இரண்டு லட்ச ரூபாய்க்கு மேல் தங்கம் வாங்கும்போது பான் எண் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நிபந்தனையின் நடைமுறைச் சிக்கல்களையும் விளக்கிச் சொன்னோம். வர்த்தகப் பெயர் இல்லாத தங்க நகைகளுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட உற்பத்திவரி ரத்து செய்யப்படும் என்று, பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி உறுதி அளித்தார். அதே நேரத்தில், பட்ஜெட் தொடர்பான நிதி மசோதா நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நிலுவையில் இருப்பதால், உடனே எந்த முடிவும் எடுக்க முடியாத நிலையில் இருப்பதைச் சொன்னார். நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் விவாதம் நடத்தி முடிவு எடுக்கப்படும் வரை, ஏற்கெனவே நடைமுறையில் இருக்கும் வரிதான் இருக்கும் என்பதால் போராட்டத்தை வாபஸ் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.

இந்த தங்க வரிவிதிப்பு தொடர்பான மசோதா மே மாதம் தொடக்கத்தில்தான் விவாதத்துக்கு வரும் என்பதால், மே 10 வரை எங்களுடைய போராட்டத்தை தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தி வைத்தோம்Ó என்றார்.

இந்தக் கடை அடைப்புப் போராட்டம், தமிழகத் தில் சில தினங்கள் மட்டும் தீவிரமாக நடந்தது. அதன்பிறகு கண்டுகொள்ளாமல், கடைகளைத் திறந்து வியாபாரம் பார்க்கத் தொடங்கி விட்டார்கள். ஆனால், வடநாட்டில் முழுமையாக 21 நாட்கள் நடந்த காரணத்தால்தான், அரசு பேச்சுவார்த்தைக்கு இறங்கி வந்துள்ளது.

கறுப்புப் பணப்புழக்கத்தை கட்டுப்படுத்தத்தான் பான்கார்டு அவசியமாக்கப்படுகிறது என்று சொல்லப்பட்டது. நகைக் கடைக்காரர்கள் போராட் டத்துக்குப் பயந்து, அரசு இந்த அறிவிப்பை வாபஸ் வாங்குமா அல்லது தன்னுடைய கொள்கையில் உறுதியாக இருக்குமா என்பது விரைவில் தெரிந்து விடும்.

'விரைவில் அட்சயத் திருதியை’ வருவதால்தான், நகைக் கடைக்காரர்கள் தங்கள் போராட்டத்தை அவசர அவசரமாக விலக்கிக்கொண்டார்கள் என்றும் சிலர் முணுமுணுக்கிறார்கள்.

சுனாமி எச்சரிக்கையைத் தொடர்ந்து தமிழக கடலோரப் பகுதிகள் முழுவதும் ஸ்தம்பித்துள்ளன. பய அலைகள் படு வேகமாக பரவிக் கொண்டுள்ளன. கடலோரப் பகுதிகளிலிருந்து மக்கள் வேகம் வேகமாக வெளியேற்றப்பட்டு வருவதால் கடலோரப் பகுதிகள் முழுவதும் வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடக்கின்றன.

இந்தோனேசியாவில் ஏற்பட்ட 8.9 ரிக்டர் அளவிலான மிகப் பயங்கரமான பூகம்பத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து சுனாமி எச்சரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழகத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரை கடலூர், புதுச்சேரி கடலோரப் பகுதிகளை மாலை 4.30 மணிக்கும், சென்னையை மாலை 5 மணிக்கும் சுனாமி அலைகள் தாக்கலாம் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. அதேபோல அந்தமான், நிக்கோபார் தீவுகளையும் 4 மணியளவில் சுனாமி அலைகள் தாக்கலாம் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு உள்ளது.

இந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு காரணமாக தமிழகம் முழுவதும் கடலோரப் பகுதிகளில் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைள் முடுக்கி விடப்பட்டுள்ளன. கடலோரப் பகுதிகளில் வசித்து வருவோர் பாதுகாப்பான இடங்களுக்கு வெளியேற்றப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர்.

சென்னை மெரீனா கடற்கரை வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடக்கிறது. கடலோரப் பகுதிக்கு வந்தோர், வியாபாரிகள் உள்ளிட்டோர் வெளியேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளனர். கடற்கரை காமராஜர் சாலையில் சாலைப் போக்குவரத்தும் கூட நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. மயான அமைதியாக அப்பகுதி காணப்படுவதாக அங்கிருந்து வரும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. யாரும் கடலோரப் பகுதிகளுக்குப் போக வேண்டாம் என்று போலீஸார் எச்சரித்துள்ளனர்.

இதேபோல கடலூர், நாகப்பட்டனம், ராமநாதபுரம் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலும் கடலோரப் பகுதிகளில் மக்கள் வெளியேற்றப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

இதற்கிடையே, கடலோரங்களில் பல இடங்களில் கடல் சீற்றம் கடுமையாக இருப்பதாக தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. ராமநாதபுரத்தில் ராட்சத அலைகள் எழுந்து வந்ததால் மக்கள் பெரும் பீதியடைந்து ஓடினர்.

Tsunami is unlikely to occur this time it seems. There are 2 major differences btwn 2004 earthquake and today's.

1) Magnitude was 9.2 in 2004, this time around 8.6

2) this is important.. the cause of today's earthquake is different. Today was a strike-slip earthquake which means the 2 plates moved in horizontal direction one against another. This is not tsunami-causing generally.
But in 2004, there was vertical movement with one plate going under another hence a much bigger impact.

Why tsunami is unlikely after 8.6-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia

The Indonesia earthquake that hit on Wednesday afternoon appears to have been a strike-slip earthquake. It is unlikely that there will be a devastating tsunami after Wednesday's 8.6-magnitude quake.
Tsunamis are generated by displacement of water. In 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, a megathrust displaced a lot of water vertically, like so.

Strike-slip earthquakes are completely horizontal and there is no vertical displacement. Since the vertical displacement of this earthquake will be relatively limited, the amount of water displaced and therefore tsunami is also likely to be limited.

A devastating tsunami is not likely, at least not like the 2004 one but it is uncertain exactly how large a tsunami this earthquake may generate.

If the strike-slip movement is towards the continental slope, there may still be some vertical offset.
If an earthquake occurs in an area with 100 m depth water and the strike-slip motion is towards shallower water and land. The huge 100 m stack of that water lying above the epicenter then moves towards land, too, where the water may only be 80 m deep. Suddenly you've just produced 20 m of vertical offset because you moved a 100 m deep stack of water to an area that's only 80 m deep. The strike-slip motion appears to be in ESE oblique against Indonesia, though, it is still doubtful that this will be a devastating tsunami.

even finance department can use this and stops issue of multiple pan cards to the same person.
can be used in LPG connections, voter id, opening bank accounts, RTO offices.
then why the hell, BJP and most of the other MPs are against UIDAI?

This being a family posting (a bonanza offered after a harsh field station posting), each jawan desires to bring his family, otherwise left behind in his hometown, when he is guarding the nation’s frontiers, often in a challenging geographical terrain. However, due to lack of official accommodation, a jawan is asked by his seniors to refrain from getting his family to Pune. Those jawans who decide to get their families to Pune nevertheless, live in slum-like conditions in one-room dwellings, near the Pune cantonment, with no drinking water facility. In addition, paucity of residential accommodation for hundreds of soldiers and officers in the Indian Armed Forces in Pune is causing great inconvenience to the families.

Now consider this: Pratibha Patil, president of India and the supreme commander of the armed forces is building a palatial home for herself on a whopping 261,000 sq ft of land in Khadki Cantonment in Pune (out of which the bungalow occupies about 4,500 sq ft). The land belongs to the defence. It will now have a fortified home, the construction of which is nearing completion.

The president is eligible for only 2,000 sq ft bungalow in any part of the country if he/she wants the government to hire a home for him/her, after retirement. Otherwise, he/she is entitled to a government-owned Class V bungalow (around 4,500 sq ft) if it is available. He/she is not eligible to build a home on government land. Some former defence personnel from Pune who are campaigning against this illegality are taking strong objections to the fact that Ms Patil is constructing her house on government land, when hundreds of jawans and officers are facing official accommodation crisis.

This revelation under the Right to Information (RTI) Act was procured by Col Suresh Patil (retd) and founder of Justice for Jawans (JFJ), RTI activist Anup Awasthi and Indian Ex-servicemen Movement (IESM) who are campaigning against Ms Patil’s ‘snatching’ away land meant for soldiers and officers.

The RTI application was sent to the president’s office. As per the reply, under the President’s Emoluments and Pension Act, 1951 and rules framed under the President’s Pension Rule, 1962, “where suitable government residence is not available for allotment to a retired president, the size of the residence to be taken on lease to be provided to a retired president shall have a living area not exceeding 2,000 sq ft”.

“A place where government-owned accommodation is allotted to a retired president, the size of the residence is comparable to a residence allotted to a minister in the Union council of ministers and if the highest type of government residence available as a particular place is less in size than a residence allotted to a minister in the Union council of ministers, the highest type of accommodation available at that place shall be allotted to the ex-president. At present, a minister is entitled to a plinth area of the bungalow as 4,498 sq ft”.

The reply under RTI also stated that she is eligible to drinking water and electricity supply, free of cost, throughout her life.

States commander Ravindra Pathak, member of the IESM and who invoked the RTI, “taking away more than 2.5 lakh sq ft of defence land is sheer looting by Ms Patil. We are sending a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take up the case suo moto. We have no money to pay for lawyers’ expenses.”

Col Suresh Patil (retd) elaborates, “Two defence bungalows have been pulled down to make way for Ms Patil’s bungalow and the vast expanse of land, over 2 lakh sq ft has been fortified for her. We are saying that let her keep the 2,000 sq ft she is entitled to and give away the remaining land for constructing official accommodation for soldiers and officers. Otherwise, there are numerous bungalows in the three cantonments of Pune and she could have been given accommodation in one of these.”

No other president has made such claims for personal gains, alleges Col Patil. He adds says, “Dr Rajendra Prasad donated his land to Vinoba Bhave and here we have Pratibhatai Patil taking away the land for of her own men—after all she is the supreme commander of the armed forces.”

RTI in this case provided information but who’s going to tie the proverbial bell round the cat? Hence, we need a strong anti-corruption law.
