Guys, it's time for us to try to get a nice pool of possible banners to represent Romania on SSC. The Bulgarians had this nice idea foor a vote, so I am replicating it. :cheers:

Please, come up with proposals so that we can choose the best one/ones. I think a combination/merger of pictures would also be nice. :cheers:

Great! First let's pick a date for our banner. I say we go with December 1st, since it will be our national day. What do you say? First I need to talk to Jan and reserve the day then we can think about what banner to make.

Nebunul, I think Sibiu may be a good choice. Yet, I think we should show also some other Romanian cities' frames, since Sibiu has been overpromoted so far on SSC. Romania has many other beautiful cities and I think we should show that. Apart from using pictures from Bucharest, we could also use pictures from Iasi or Timisoara or some other cities. What do you think?

(ma pricep, nu ma pricep, asta e ce-mi place mie, e pe gustul meu. Daca o sa-i placa si altora bine, daca nu, tot asa de bine. O sa raman singurul caruia o sa-i placa. Fa si tu un banner sa vad ce gusturi ai tu. Daca nu-ti place nu-l vota, e chiar foarte simplu)

Couple this to the beautiful buildings, the people, the cars, and it all comes together like a dreamy composition from the imagination of a child... Anyway, #1 is also very beautiful (all the banners shown here are very cool), but to me it would be less memorable on SSC than #4.

^^That's what I thought also. That photo is "worked" a bit, indeed.

I also think 1 is perfect for December 1st: mountains, snow and overall a fairy tale frame.

BTW: I remember we had some very nice photos of Brasov in winter and at night. I don't know where they are in the Brasov photo thread, but I think you guys also remember them. What do you think about those as a banner?

The one in fog is pretty cool. The only thing is we would need to get rid of the chime.

I like 1 and 2 best because they're very colorful... they inspire happiness and joy. And they show a very clean and nice view of the street-level Romania. I think it could have an impact on a few people's impressions about Romanian day-to-day life.

Pictures from high-above hide that nice feeling. As or me, i don't like 4 exacty because of that blur. It's a bit too intense. If the blur was a bit less intense, it would be ok.

Le Clerk, those photos of Brasov are nice, but you can't turn them into a banner without cropping too much of them.:( I also remember a great one showing a snow covered Brasov at dusk with all the streets well lit... dreamy image, really, but turning it into a banner is a different story.

Indeed i like that angle towards the square in Brasov too. The houses really look like maquettes - so neat and colorfull... The blur only makes the square itself pop out of everything else. it might be a bit too much but it looks great IMO.

Anyway those i posted were just an experiment to help you out little bit. It is your banner, neighbours and i don't wanna vote about which one i like most or something.

It's a great photo, but when you crop it to make it banner you kinda ruin it as only a very small part of it shows, and what makes that photo great is not Piata Sfatului and Biserica Neagra, but the overall feel the photo gives you.:(

Toamna nu e un sezon bun pentru poze..

Nu vorbi prostii,e sezonul perfect daca fotgrafiezi campuri si copaci,nu orase.Si-n orice caz ma refeream la toamna adevarata cand sunt cazute majoritatea frunzelor,nu imediat dupa vara cand se creaza combinatia aia de culori.Orasele "verzi" arata nasol toamna,crede-ma,eu traiesc intr-unul.

Dragi pretini si tovarasi, nu mai e mult pana pe 1 decembrie. Cat timp sunt eu in Norvegia va rog sa postati eventualele propuneri pentru banner, daca mai aveti. Intre 25 si 28 vreau sa fac un poll, ca sa putem vota efectiv bannerul si pe 28 sa i-l dau lui Jan, ca sa stie ce posteaza pe 1. Daca voi credeti ca nu mai e nevoie de poll, nicio problema, dar tot trebuie sa-l alegem pana cel tarziu pe 28, pentru ca pe 29 eu plec la Brasov.

Saptamana viitoare sper sa instalez si eu Photoshop sau Gimp, ceva ca sa pot contribui si eu cu 1-2 propuneri.:cheers:

Timisoara are arhitectura mai degraba austriaca ... si de aia "se vede prin multe orase sarbesti si unguresti". Daca vrei oras cu arhitectura "ungureasca" cel mai apropiat e TgMures

Eu pe Brasov as merge. Vreau sa fac poll-ul, deci sa-mi spuneti ce bannere vreti sa fie in poll. Eu as zice sa alegem 5, de asta am si pus drapelul pe 5. Daca vreti fara drapel, no problem... dar eu zic sa ne limitam la 5 pentru poll.

P.S.: cu cat raspundeti mai repede, cu atat mai bine.:D

Timisoara are arhitectura mai degraba austriaca ... si de aia "se vede prin multe orase sarbesti si unguresti". Daca vrei oras cu arhitectura "ungureasca" cel mai apropiat e TgMures

IMO Brasov e superb, dar arhitectural, inferior Timisoarei

Se poate... eu am incercat si asa si sincer nu mi-a placut. Adica ori e cu drapel opac:lol:, ori fara, ca altfel...:puke: Oricum, multumiri Enel, cand am vrut sa salvez fisierul PS in care am lucrat mi-a cazut curentul si am pierdut tot...:bash: E si vina mea, ca trebuia sa dau save la fiecare minut.:lol:

Stiu (cu gradient si umblat la transparenta), dar mi s-a parut oribila.:lol: Oricum trebuie eleminiat scrisul "Romania".

Steagul din prima poza insa e "a must"! Trebuie adaugat si el :P

Ma gandesc sa le iau pur si simplu pe cele mai populare de aici (plus cele 5 cu drapelul), sa fac polul si sa las poporul sa decida.:lol:

Nu-mi place poza steagului in sine. Urat galbenul.
Si nu-mi plac cu drapel pentru ca acopera in mod ostentativ bucati din poza.

Fallen, none taken, insa eu zic ca macar drapelul din variantele mele e ceva mai veridic, pe cand curcubeul ala lesinat din varianta la care te referi tu e de desene animate, adica chiar nu stiu ce va place la el. Dar fiecare cu piticii/opinia lui.:cheers:

In mod normal asa e, dar fiind 1 Decembrie, ca doar de asta punem banner, eu zic ca da bine drapelul. Ma voi apuca sa fac poll-ul. Cine mai are propuneri... bring it on, ca le pot baga si dupa.

Eu sunt de acord cu si sustin prezenta steagului (dar a unuia straveziu ca in poza cu Sibiul). :cheers:

Bannerul Timisoarei e pe jumatate stricat din cauza steagului...ma rog,fiecare cu gusturile lui.

Noi votam bannerul cel mai reusit nu arhitectura celor 2 orase,iar ce se vede in bannerul Timisoarei e inferior celui din Brasov.

As renunta la drapel ..
Brasov-ul pare un pic mai "cu viata" comparativ cu Tm..deci cumva il prefer..
cu acelasi font precum Sofia(de azi)..+Romania(dupa virgula)..
Nu-mi vine sa cred ca nu s-au gasit niste fotografii mai inspirate din Bucuresti..sau macar un mix..cu simboluri nationale din Buc..gen Ateneul Roman,Casa Poporului, Arcul de Triumf,vreun motiv traditional de la Muzeul Taranul Roman,Intercontinental,+un turn(gen Financial plaza,..)..

ori un banner cu vreo 5-6 cladiri din diferite orase pt a reprezenta Ro..
gen..cazinoul din Constanta,Palatul Culturii-Iasi,castelul Peles ori Bran,Coloana Infinitului a lui Brancusi ,o manastire(Curtea de Arges ori Voronet) Ateneul Roman ori Arcul de Triumf + un turn de sticla(pt a simboliza actuala tendinta de modernizare)..

Intelegeti doar ce vreti voi.
Eu am zis asta,si ala a inceput cu arhitectura austriaca si tot felul de care eu nu pomenisem.

Nu trebuie sa te superi, ideea era ca tu ai spus ca genul acela de cladiri il gasesti si in YU si in H, iar el ti-a raspuns ca defapt acela este un stil "folosit" de imp Austro-ungar si automat il vei gasi in majoritatea oraselor ce au fost sub dominatia acelui imp, nu stiu cat ai inteles, mai ales ca m-am si exprimat de nota 10 :)
