Legia-Spartak... This stadium could be destroyed:ohno:.

I do not think so...
Spartak fans must be gentle knowing about suspended penalties for the club after last match in EL

Nahh, but i could see some Spartak deaths if they tried to mess up the stadium. I'm sure Legias most nutty ones would not take kindly to that.

Plz back to stadium.

Why was it not sold out?

First reason - holiday, second reason - in case one didn't have special card, one had to wait at leat 3 hours in a long que to make one (here's an article in Polish: http://warszawa.gazeta.pl/warszawa/1,34862,10124269,_Wszyscy_na_Spartak___Bedzie_komplet_na_Legii_.html ) ,third reason - ticket prices - quite high, and last reason : only few hundered fans from Moscow.

Anyway - almost 24k fans not that bad either.

Plz back to stadium.

Why was it not sold out?

and another reason - the game started early - at 6 pm - for many people it was impossible to get there at time from work.

I have just deleted a crapload of pathetic childish fighting by grown adults who should know better. THE NEXT PERSON TO CONTINUE THIS WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET AN INFRACTION AND LIKELY A BRIG. Anyone who thinks I am bluffing can go right ahead and test me if you like, but fasten your seatbelts first because I am not happy with this ridiculous political arguing.

BTW here in my city Leon, Mexico we have a small group of polish citizens. They have a company dedicated to the elaboration of shoe soles (the principal occupation of my city is the elaboration of shoes) and they are really nice people.

^^well you should check the meaning of the word "Jihad" first

-as far as I know "my precious" banner is conneted with match in Bucharest, where most of the Polish fans weren't allowed to enter stadium, they were also robbed, and had many more attractions(some of them were beaten)...

This week, Legia Warszawa (Poland) travelled in their usual big numbers to Romania to take on Rapid Bucuresti in Europa League.

Legia Ultras and supporters had many problems while trying to enter the stadium. People arriving into the city with Polish license plates on their automobiles were being pulled over by police and taken to a control zone. Police would also not allow the visiting Legia fans to meet in the city centre or to walk to their stadium on their own. Some fans were arrested when the tried to get to the stadium their own way. When the Legia fans approached the stadium, they were stopped and had their tifo materials confiscated. Members of police and stadium security also tried to steal a couple of Legia’s banners while others began to destroy their tifo materials right in front of the fans. Some fans fought back and injured some police officers in order to get their banners back while others fought to defend their flags. Police responded with a large amount of tear gas.

Finally, police began to slowly let Legia fans into the stadium about 10 people at a time, after a very thorough body search was performed on each person. Many were forced to take off their socks and shoes during the search. Eventually for the second half they were allowed to enter the stadium. Legia won the match 1-0.

No, of course, the banner with Jihad had nothing to do with Israel and the Palestinians (it said Legia on it, i've clearly misunderstood it )
Are you aware of Palestinian Islamic Jihad? Out of context, indeed Jihad it's diffrent.

No, of course, the f*cking Gollum, was dark as a let's say a gypsy because he was at a tanning saloon. Again misunderstood it.

I'm confused by something. Din any official form Legia had spoken with the officials from Rapid? (Even we weren't allowed with large flags or banners). If not this is a communication error by your side. And if they knew about the restrictions, then they have nothing to complain. Not saying that the police were not violent, but c'mon, Legia's fans aren't saints...

And putting a banner depicting a gypsy, a romanian flag, and the club's name, it's offending. Why didn't they draw a police officer ?
Beside the police "robbing" them of their flags, i doubt that any other person would've had the courage to rob one/two/three fans out of almost 2000 fans (maybe suicidal thiefs).
They saw that nothing happened to them after the game whit Hapoel, so they continued whit the moronic behavior.

p.s. Rapid fans were also stopped from entering Warsaw...
_____
Ontopic: I was really impressed by the level of devotion of Legia's fans, as a whole (leaving the gypsy banner aside). Amazing atmosphere and i hope that they will return in Bucharest for the final .

I won't discuss earlier part of your post because you don't know what you are talking about.

As for quoted part, maybe you should ask CEO of Rapid why he send official message to Legia and UEFA that Rapid fans will not come to game in Warsaw. Legia offered Rapid 1400 tickets for this match and Rapid declined the offer.

Yes it's true.UEFA said that that Legia has to give tickets to them, they refused, but in the end they gave them 100-200 tickets.

so to make it clear, You call FREEk01 a troll and an ignorant ("because you don't know what you are talking about") because he, among many others i presume, felt offended by a banner that is in fact offending and even can be classified as xenophobic and racist, just because he doesn't get the deeper meaning and history of a shameful behavior or whatever?
The fact that it is referring to someone or something else does not change its message.

anyway atmosphere was awesome.

I've come across a video from the Legia vs. Arsenal match with awesome performance by the fans of Czesław Niemen's cult song 'Sen o Warszawie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePNUSmH3dMI&feature=related)' (A dream about Warsaw) released by the artist in 1966.

The song is the anthem of Legia sung by fans before every match.

Of course it was nothing personal. I've noticed this is their attitude, not a healthy one anyway...
It's curious (for me at least) that UEFA does not take action. They say RESPECT, but...

During the game Romania - Bosnia some stupid RO fans posted a small Karadzic banner showing their support for him and shouted his name, only for that UEFA has fined the RO footbal federation.

If i say that UEFA closes their eyes at this crap beacause UEFA 2012, you would call me a paranoid, right?.

I am not a Legia fan (just the opposite) but none of those banners are offensive in their nature. The context might be but the UEFA representative cannot judge the context but the banner itself.

and besides... stop being so sensitive. Futbol has never been just about what goes on during the game. Coaches, fans, media always play a big role in the psychological war before and during the game.

I said that my previous post was the last one, but now I SWEAR this is my las one .

The whole Europe now considers that the vast majority of Romanians are gypsies and you ask me to stop being so sensitive? How would you feel if everybody thought your country is full of gypsies ?
(given the context that they steal, beg, etc.)

I saw that polish people really cared about Lech Kaczynski, don't tell me that if Rapid fans had a banner with a polish plane (presidential one...) that is about to crash, you wouldn't feel offended (maybe you wouldn't, but polish media would be on fire).
^An exemple, i don't want to offend...

I understand the need of the ultras to put pressure on the adversary, but if you cross a certain line, you pay. It's simple.

As i said on the previous page, in RO - Bosnia game, maybe the fans that had a Karadzic banner, were referring to a friend, a romanian that was named Karadzic. UEFA judged the context.

That's mental...has this fan been banned?! Is this just a minor incident or can we expect alot of polish hooligans this summer, I hope they don't ruin what Poland and the Ukraine have prepared for, everything is based on reputation!

I don't know if the fan has been banned, but burning scarves of the opposing team is not unusual in Polish stadia. Concerning the security in the stadiums during EURO, no reason to be concerned about that! But some violent clashes between rival fans (Poland vs. Russia, Poland vs. Czech Republic) cannot be excluded.

Real tragedy:)

No tragedy, but on the last picture it looks like the glass has to be changed.

The whole protest or disinterest of Polish fans in EURO is more directed towards UEFA, Polish FA and 'occasional fans', they are not interested in fan miles, merchandising, support of their own team, attending matches, etc.. Polish hooligans are certainly no harm to 'normal' fans who want to experience and enjoy the atmosphere and so on, as they just don't care about them. So nothing to worry about! But to think that they will sit at home and ignore likeminded violent seeking fans from other countries or to think that only well-behaved fans will make it to Poland (vide Germany vs. RUSSIA in Dortmund 2008) is very naive... Though situations like during EURO 2000 in Netherlands & Belgium are very unrealistic, due to stricter controlls, undercover spotters, video surveillance and if there should be any clashes, the media and publicity wouldn't probably take notice of it.

Great shots!
Polish fans are for sure one of the best fans around the world. Their craziness, their passion for the clubs, their will to struggle for the colors of the team and the firm are simply great. Football as a game would be much better if there were many firms like polish are, but the UEFA's wish is to make football available to fancy fans and families and to make real theater of football matches. There's only one problem about polish firms and that's their brutality and violence, but at the end of the day they really know how to support and love their club.

Yeah thatīs why attendances are so high in the Polish league...

Polish support is a joke, maybe because of the problems with hooligans, but for a big country with now also nice stadiums like this, again itīs a joke.

Our league is very weak compared to the size of the country-no club in CL for more than decade(hopefully it will change this seazon).
So called "sunday fans" and tourists don't visit our stadiums too often like in Spain.

Anyway fans in Madrit and Barcelona behave more like they are in theater than at football match. ;)

How can you even compare supporters with fans:

Yeah, last year brought attendances 60% higher than they were in 2010 so when you learn to read statistics, let us know.

This year it's a lot harder, because since May last year our 'safety legislation' was changed several times, making the life of supporters a real pain some times. Starting January 2012 Polish law is even stricter than it was with people in some stadiums being arrested for almost no reason, police checking flares for DNA to get rid of ultras. Ironically, it did not raise safety levels, nor did it help the gov't with raising their falling polls. So not only can you get beaten up by hoolies on your way to the stadium, you may also get beaten up and detained by the cops once you get there. Not really a dream come true.

Plus, stadiums in Zabrze, Bialystok and Lodz are either under construction or awaiting one. If you lose 60-80% capacity, you will have lower attendances, that's life.

Now don't make me start with the quality of football in Poland, which is utter crap, or with ticket prices, which are not proportional to what people earn. And yet, the ones who actually bother to go games are those who aren't the rich ones, because the mostly imaginary 'upper-middle-class' prefers to watch Messi and friends run around on TV...

So what was your point again? Friday saw 29,017 people make up for a completely shitty game with atmosphere they created. I recon this to be among the largest crowds for such a poor game in Europe.

Lovely stadium, would've been cool if Poland hosted the tournament themselves, 2 in Warsaw, 1 in Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Chorzow, one more and you've got a much better tournament than Poland and Ukraine I think.

30k in Zabrze is under construction atm, but it isn't really important. We and Ukrainians are happy to share the tournament, so now we should enjoy euro, not thinking how would it be without Ukraine.

I've no problem with it being in two countries, just saying commuting from stadium to stadium is much easier within one country, and Poland almost a sufficient amount of stadiums.

Hosting WC would be quite hard for Poland as it requires 10 venues above 40k. And even the National Stadium is too small to host a final. Actually, I think that while Poland could have host Euro alone, co-hosting World Cup with Ukraine would be fine idea.

No chance for hosting World Cup in Poland in i think 30 years, better idea is Olympic Games for Warsaw
