Make it like Vegas - A Party Town!
Allow big new 5000-room Casinos etc with the best acts, dining, resorts.
More sporting events incl. the Formula1 Grand Prix, red-bull aeroplane competition, world ironman/triathalons etc and try Indy at night.
More theme parks, do a FerrariWorld like Dubai - drive new Ferraris all day!
Bring on the big international Cruise ships like Miami.

yeah i think the Gold Coast should go for a extra Casino, have a bit of competition between the two

I would like to see a heavy rail link connection between Nerang Station and Central Surfers Paradise...

Have 3 separate operations:
Brisbane - Surfers
Brisbane - Cooly
Cooly - Surfers

Then Light Rail running up and down the coast at the very least building on what is already proposed. This forms an even more forward thinking basic set of infrastructure to serve both the gold coast and brisbane.

Also, more races with t!ts on balcony's!

Things I'd like to see for GC in the future:

- Legalised Gambling, more casino's
- Tram network from Coolangatta to Labrador
- The creation of a Business Hub - around Bundall. Get rid of that racecourse and design a new city centre (Civic)
- Increased job opportunities in other areas - Pacific Innovation Corridor etc. I'd like to see GC as a leader.
- The skyline has become an icon - more enphasis on this needs to be created. Light up GC like Hong Kong!!
- A transport link be it rail or monorail between Nerang and Surfers with a stop in Bundall. I'd eventually love to see an underground rail loop from Nerang to Carrarra, Bundall, Surfers, Main Beach, Southport, and back to Helensvale.

Much of this is just wishful thinking but its what I'd like to see.

What the bloody hell is it with you people saying that this is pointless. Your're actually saying that the whole forum is pointless, because that's what its about. What do you do all day, criticising everyone else whne you can't even get your life right. At least I have the generosity of starting up a thread for others to see and discuss issues. Grow up!

As for the GC - how about less urban sprawl, higher density (outside of the 'strip'), less tackyness and proper public transport?

i dont find this pointless, their are many threads about future visions.

I would love the GC to take some sort of light rail or monorail running up the highway, would be great for the cities PT, also i would hate for the city to sprawl any further west. Densify areas like the coast areas, Cooly and i think Robina would do with some densifying

Hands off the Formula 1 Grand Prix lol. I want the Gold Coast to be one hell of a 'party town' a tourist paradise but maybe not sure on the gambling aspect. Definately more theme parks and More towers. I love it's skyline. Public transport definately needed.

I want Gold Coast to be a tourist paradise, as it really is. A destination to rival Hollywood/LA and Miami, but in an aussie kind of way (Not sure how to explain in words) I don't mind if the place is a little fake really, it's one place I want to see shopping malls, palm trees and the likes, a place to get away and relax and have fun. It's the Gold Coast and I love it for what it is.

Be different from the capital cities so Gold Coast can be reffered to as Australia's 'sunny playground/party town etc etc'. It doesn't need a big financial centre, there is Brisbane and the two biggies down south.

Ok, lets dream for something really, really ambitious....like developers on the Gold Coast actually having enough money to complete the developments they start! lol.
