I am quite attracted by ghost towns, deserted towns, abandoned villages. I noticed how some countries are rich in this field, while other don't have many.

I wonder if there are in Slovenia any of these forgotten settlements, and if so, where.

You have abandoned buildings and some complex but I don't know if there any abandoned villages, probably not.
But there are some villages where the population has dropped dramaticaly (up to 70-80%)!

There is a famous and abandoned village, Abitanti, in municipality of Koper. This village every May hosts a traditional international fine art colony. It's worth to see it.

I suppose this would fit the bill. The abandonned salt evaporation ponds in Sečovlje.

I'm also intersted in those things. I was working on some projects of revitalisation of abandoned villages.

Another one is a village Zanigrad, 20 km away from Koper.

I am not sure that Zanigrad is ghost village, i was there in februar and one house was renovated - If anybody lives there, i dont know.

There are few abandoned farm objects (stables, hay sheds, cottages) in Alps and Pohorje Mountain Region. I am sure it would scare you at least a little bit. Walking around there without a light source can scare your bones! I would not like to try that.

you should try nocking on our neighbour's door and all the balcan there are many gost towns and villages ther(as a result of the war 15 years ago) one that i know of is city of Obrovac in croatia, well it filled out a bit in recent years but still for the city that used to count as many as 200.000 people and thoday hosts approximately 1500 pop. i count it as a ghost town

I apologize for my misinterpretation it said that in the operation storm more than 200.000 people fled homes. And yes operation included whole krajina regon:D

Sicer ne spada v slovensko temo o zapuscenih vaseh in mestih, a vseeno: Pripjat, Ukrajina (za mene eno najbolj strasnih zapuscenih mest. Verjetno zaradi velikosti.) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pripyat,_Ukraine)
