yeah its a nice bldg this one!It wish itwas its original height of 85m but council lopped off 20m. when i did model it was amazed at the slow set back with the top 10 floors! very spectacular!

Walked by the site yesterday and still no sign of demoltion yet, even though the sales office kept saying March for commencement!! :(

I was told by devleopers they will start this month, still got couple of weeks yet!:D

looks like mid April for demolition to start, due to problems with CC (construction certificate). then construction will soon follow- maybe May!

Passed the site yesterday i.e. 23rd April and still no indcation of demolion in progress :( !!

Must ring the the on-site sale's office and find out what's the "go" on this one :?

Today is the 28th April and passed the site. Still no indication of demolition work :(

I walked past here about two weeks ago, still nothing going on. I wonder what is happening????

Six months and nothing has happened!!! You have to wonder if this tower is ever going to get off the ground at the rate that it is going.

I make detours every so often to see if anything is happening at the site.

Last time I walked by there about a week ago, all this windswept garbage was gracing the stairs of what used to be their salesroom.

Signs are still up as so is the website.

I know they were having trouble finding adequate construction staff due to all the other projects happening or about to happen.

Passed the site last Saturday afternoon, and on both sides of the glossy blue painted low-rise deco builiding, the guys were starting to pull it down. :) :)

That was the whole site. Actually I can't even remember seeing a core, or even a crane.

If the render proves true it should be a niceish building.

I was walking around that area today and it's looking great, and really zooming up! It was hard to count the floors due to the meshing, but looked about core 12 and floorplates 10 or so. The Alberta St facade already has some pretty funky loking facade stuff happening.

It's interesting to see the northern aspect is a blank wall. It's right next to 9 Commonwealth St which houses the offices of ACON (AIDS Council Of NSW), a redundant 60s 3-storey office building.

Dunno how long ACON's lease is on the building but if or when they relocate, it will hopefully be yanked down as it's horrible. If so, we may eventually see a scraper of similar height of both The Common (63m/207ft) and The Travelodge (75m/246ft).

If it eventuates, Commonwealth St will have a nice mid-rise scraper wall. :)

Yeah CULWULLA, I've noticed that in the previous renders yet it's hard to imagine that the RL increases by 12m/39.5ft!!

It must be taken from the Travelodge's Goulburn St side and not from on the Commonwealth St side.

^ i think also Travelodge has a large plantroom which is what height is measured to. i think its less then 70m to roof from goulburn st.

The northern blank wall of The Common suggests that the 3-storey daggy building @ 9 Commonwealth St may eventually come down. It's a pretty sad and redundant waste.

we have already done "concept" tower for Commons northern wall and the proposal can go 60m, so it will eventually be a wall in future.

Well the funny thing is that buildings only have concrete when they are getting built. Check out the render and actually wait till the thing is at least finished to make your judgement.

Crikey, they had better cover up the side with something. It's like our worst fears have come true... a giant concrete slab.

Any highrise development sharing a property line in Australia CANT put windows on that face. makes sense? it has to be blank. the site next door will no doubt be developed within a few years.thus- blank wall gone.

I hope a proposal comes soon to cover up that blank wall. Its simply too much.

The front facing Commonwealth Street was completely covered in mesh and where the yellow balconies shown in the render below, the mesh was jutting out to accommodate them:

zulu, the turning torso for 157 liverpool (next to Amex) is being developed by Shortland properties and the DA stage 2 will be submitted soon with construction to start 2006.

The yellow balconies are sticking out too much IMO.
It looks like it may fall off anytime.
