Do we need a skybar?

My question is: Do we need a skybar?
What is a skybar - a place where we could post everything that is not related to construction updates or photos.

I think that our Bulgarian forum deserves a skybar. The activity is high and its getting better every day. I do not see a reason why other , much smaller forum have skybars, and we don't have

I made a small research and here are the results:

We have 33 500 posts. So were is the logic? What is the main criteria to have a skybar? Who decides that? When we'll have the right to choose the way OUR forum looks like.

I gave you 14 examples of smaller sub-forums with skybars. So, it seems that Bulgarian forum meets the criteria and I cant see ANY reason not adding a skybar. Its not a mania- its a way of development. After all this is our board and should be our decision how to develop it. ;)

cosmis, I always thought vrey high of you, thought you are a very intelligent and nice guy but this makes me a bit doubtful. We need a skybar because there we can open up topic related threads. In an offtopic thread you just can´t throw a topic while other members are discussing toehr things. In a skybar all threads are running seperatly so people can decide to post and make the threads grow or not to post. I would have so much to tell in a skybar that a skybar is just needed for the Bulgarian forum.

Skybar is not only offtopic. Actually most of the thread will be connected to Bulgaria, our problems, ideas, future. All Лафеджийница threads should me moved there, the thread about Bulgarian music, the Sport thread, The Culture thread. Im sure that the skybar will bring more bulgarians to this forum, because the threads wont be only for construction works and photos, and more people could find useful information related to their own interests. I really cant understand why you (the mods) are against it. After all this is OUR forum, we're the members, we post, we take pictures and thats why the decision should be made by us. Whats more there are 14 smaller forums with skybars and less activity and you just dont have the rights to reject our decision if we decide to have a skybar, because there are precedents already...14 precedents. :cheers::cheers:

So why does this work on the RO section with Nebuniile nebunului (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=715406&page=16) then? Just on the last page we went from excessive swearing in movies to stand-up comedy through a bit of politics and now, the last post is about the Noble prize winner. It's true, many times a subject is not discussed for more than 2-3 posts or a page maximum, but that's efficient. You post whatever you want to post, see if anybody gives a fuck, and if not live moves on. Sometimes though the posts there start (interesting and constructive) discussions between me and others via PM; don't know if that's the case with others, but I bet it is.

So you see... considering this is an architecture/urbanism/infrastructure forums after all, such a thread is all you need. It certainly is all I need and what I'm sure many Romanian members need. So how are you that different I ask?

I would have so much to tell in a skybar that a skybar is just needed for the Bulgarian forum.

And I must tell you that it doesn´t work that way, a skybar is way better because in an oftopic thread you would have to wait until the discussion finishes to start a new discussion and in a skybar with seperte threads you could wait, because not always the guys who have interest of that subject are online, you can´t tell me that an offtopic thread can work the same way as a skybar.

Well we have a rule not to touch each other's sections. I don't tell the Asians how to deal with their sections, they don't mess with ours.
In this case, even within euroscrapers, we stopped creating news ones a long time ago, and left the ones created alone. Although I still want some deleted.
The same way we deleted the old skybar in the EE section. People complained, but it's better without a skybar.

I am not saying there will never be a skybar. After all, last year I would have said no to a bulgarian section.

3tmk, току що видях, че и в нашия си раздел-Euroscrapers имаме нов член- Швейцария...С 9500 поста, с ниска активност този форум си има няколко подраздела + скайбар. И отново питам(белкем се отговори) по какви критерии се решава, кога и какъв нов подраздел да се направи?! Нали уж в Euroscrapers нови скайбарове нямаше да се правят,тогава защо Швейцария има? Защо ми се струва, че към Източноевропейските форуми има тенденциозно отношение? На какви основания Германци, Швейцарци или Гърци ще се ползват с по-големи права от нас!? Не искамда звуча, като малко дете, което си иска близкалката, дори на мен ми е смешно, че се впрягам за някаква глупост в интернет форум, но това е едно от малкото места в нета, където си прекарвам свободното време изключително приятно и искам да продължи да е така. За целта искам нашия раздел да се развива, а това няма как да стане ако модераторите ни са държат като коне с капаци/магарета на мост.

И в крайна сметка или сложете някакви критерии за това как и при какви условия ще се развиват форумите или просто си признайте, че и вие не знаете и поне да са ясни нещата.

You impled that on a poster of bai tosho reference and that wasn't me. I erased it because afaik 3tmk has no crush on tato tosho (unlike some forumers here who worship him as the great leader and his ideas as an eternal postulate of what Bulgaria should be).
