nivramster July 2nd, 2011, 09:09 AM Sa akong opinion, gwapo ang Puerto flyover... Gamit gyud ni... Alternate na lang dayon ang mo-left from Bugo going to Bukidnon and katong mo-left from Bukidnon to CdeO... I pass this intersection around 4x everyday... Pero, the flyover at Licoan may worsen the traffic situation at the opposite side of the bridge... Dapat naa lain flyover sa opposite side sa bridge to correct this, IMO... Or, pwede pud i-timing na if GO ang left turn from Velez to the bridge, GO pud ang gikan bridge padung sa Bulua... I'm a big supporter of the Mayor, but this project may not be that useful... But, we're not experts so we don't really know if the flyover is a solution to the traffic situation in that area... :-)
Mao pud doc :okay:, we don't know what they had in mind, maybe there's something they've been holding to that they think could solve the heavy traffic on this area.. but still we are not sure, up until this project is finished.
boju2 July 2nd, 2011, 10:38 AM at least this is a good design and this will work compared to what they are doing at Velez-Recto. Though this design is not feasible at Velez-Recto due to land area limitations, but a skyway is a good option.
I dunno why the proposed DPWH funded Skyway (http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:AXSxvrKrHTMJ:www.norminet.org.ph/downloads/files/Annex%2520A_Chapter%25205_Infrastructure_Narrative.doc+cagayan+de+oro+skyway+dpwh&hl=en&gl=sg&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESgNGGWqrHIyQb4EzCtjorfvvzHxzTxvHT96e93eRvVM1ltQG6TD2-ap_96T-MbW-7HTQuF2ibaNG7EcCytqh83d4KFEpGjdm4SYAh19k_mzZ044AfmJ2QBSrnZei6qk3BpsLaZM&sig=AHIEtbT7FLCASjNr_xA5eJMS2qHAuRFADQ) project along CM Recto (Licoan to Lapasan) was not pursued but this city funded flyover get instant go signal...

boodex July 2nd, 2011, 04:37 PM Sa karon, mapuno na gani ang Marcos bridge bisan wa pay flyover, what more if naa na? They are making a direct access from CM Recto to the Marcos Bridge... He! He! He! :okay:
Good point Doc...pero pede cguro nila pag aralan ung timing ng traffic lights sa corrales at sa Kauswagan Area para hindi naman masyadong puno ang Marcos bridge...kung naka GO ang kauswagan dapat stop muna sa corrales para naman mabawasan or in minimal traffic nalang ang matitira sa bridge pag ka GO sa corrales...

Finance body backs purchase of 75 VHF radios for COCPO
by Lorebeth C. Requiroso
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental, July 2 (PIA) –- The purchase of very high frequency (VHF) handheld radio sets for the local police office is very urgent and necessary.
This was emphasized by Kagawad Simeon Licayan of the Sangguniang Panglalawigan (SP), Chairperson of the City Council Committee on Finance and Ways and Means.
Licayan has supported the request of P/SSupt. Gerardo Rosales for the committee to allocate about P375,000 for 75 units of VHF handheld radio sets intended for the 25 fixed visibility points (FVP) of the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (COCPO’s) area of responsibility (AOR).
Eight FVPs have already been established in the city, PSSupt Rosales, Director of COCPO, said, as of press time.
At present, COCPO has 69 VHF handheld radio sets which have been distributed to the 10 police stations and special units, he said.
Licayan’s committee has referred the request to the city administrator’s office for consideration and sourcing of funds subject to the approval of Mayor Vicente Emano.
Kagawad Ian Mark Nacaya, chairperson of the Committee on Police, Fire and Public Safety also supported the move to strengthen the city’s peace and order drive.(CIO/PIA-10)

Constellation2k July 3rd, 2011, 05:33 AM Businessman donates P500,000 for day care center
By Nicole J. Managbanag
Friday, July 1, 2011
BUSINESS tycoon and Oro Port President Franklin "Bobo" Siao donated a day care center worth P550,000 at Kulambog Centro in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.
The day center was named Vergilio V. Neri Day Care after the late father-in-law of Siao. It is fully equipped with educational facilities, a television set, DVD players and comfort rooms.

Siao also promised an additional monthly allowance of P2,000 aside from the monthly allowance of P1,800 from the local government unit (LGU) to the volunteer who will man and supervise the children in the day care center.
Councilor Alexander Dacer said over the years, Siao had been very secretly persistent in his charity works in different barangays in the city, particularly in Macabalan, Puntod and recently in Barangay Lapasan.
Dacer said Siao also managed to provide feeding programs to his day care center beneficiaries and gave away gifts during Christmas as his way of sharing his blessings to the less fortunate.
Lapasan Barangay chairperson Omar D. Labuntog expressed his gratitude to Siao in providing the ninth day care center in his barangay.
Labuntog said Siao's donation is a plus factor to the constituents of Lapasan, considered as one of the most populated barangays in the city.
The day care center was inaugurated on Friday with Mayor Vicente Y. Emano as guest along with some city councilors.
Siao had been very supportive of Emano's projects ever since he was the governor of Misamis Oriental.

Emano said the transfer of the city's landfill from Upper Dagong, Carmen to Barangay Pagatpat has been a long-time dream of the government.
He thanked Pagatpat barangay officials led by village chairman Rey Mabunay for their cooperation to the City Government to make the dream a reality.
Emano also thanked Councilor Alvin Calingin, chairperson of the Adhoc committee created to facilitate the transfer of the sanitary landfill, for a job well done.
"The project will cost much but it is necessary for the people of the city. That is the essence of governance. What money we have, we spend for our people," the mayor said.
He is hopeful that the needed lining for the landfill can be installed, so that the operation of the new project can begin.
Meanwhile, Emano said the transfer of City Hall to Upper Dagong is still in his plan. (CIO/PIA)

It is a 40-minute ride away from the capital city Cagayan de Oro and just a few kilometers from the forthcoming Laguindingan airport, which is currently being constructed.
The Lasang Secret Adventure allows nature lovers to explore the inner sanctum of the Initao-Libertad Nature Park, home to century-old trees and endangered species which include tarsiers and monkeys, monitor lizards, flying lemurs and megapodes.
Rare birds are also found at Lasang like the imperial pigeons (bawod), native doves (alimokon), emerald doves (manatad) and serpent eagles.
One who would like to shun the dust and noise in the city may find solitude as one walks on a long stretch of boardwalk surrounded by talisay gubat trees and experience serenity amid God’s wonderful creations.
The Lasang Park offers a rare opportunity to commune with nature and enjoy the gentle kiss of forest breeze as one ascends the long and winding hundred-meter high staircase.
For the thrill seekers who would like to conquer their fears, they may tread along the canopy walk and touch ground through the 120-meter zip line.
If you find a city hotel unfit for corporate workshops, trainings and team building programs, the Lasang Eco-lodge is the place to be.
The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental under the watch of Gov. Oscar S. Moreno is presently constructing a restaurant with function rooms designed to cater to domestic and foreign travelers and corporate events.
Its close proximity to the Laguindingan Airport, which is envisioned to be the northern gateway to the beautiful island of Mindanao, will no doubt make Lasang a prime tourist destination.
The proposed P17.2 million Lasang Eco-lodge with a Day Spa undertaken by the provincial government includes the following facilities -- five units of Suite rooms with balcony, five units of double rooms, five units of single rooms, two units of dormitory with six double-decker beds, lobby and reception area, a business center, administrative office, kitchen, linen and laundry areas, storage and utility rooms.
The main feature of the Lasang Eco-lodge would be the Spa where visiting tourists and guests can relax and reward themselves with a delightful moment with the traditional hilot and trained masseurs. The Spa also offers a Jacuzzi.

MANILA, Philippines – A world class young Filipino violinist wowed his kababayans during his recent solo concert held in Cagayan de Oro City.
Cagayanons were impressed by 21-year-old Diomedes “Dio” Saraza Jr. when he played the violin.
Saraza is a full scholar at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. In 1998, he won in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists and is now considered a world class violinist.
Saraza was drawn to music at an early age since he was raised in a family full of musicians. He was only 3 years old when he showed interest in violin.
“Ang daddy ko talaga ang sobrang nag-inspire sa akin. Since I was a baby, nakikita ko siyang tumugtog ng violin, and my brothers too. My oldest brother plays the piano and my second brother plays the violin. So ever since, I was exposed to the world of music. And violin, I chose it because of its sound. Talagang nagustuhan ko,” he said.
He said he and his family would jam and play together, especially in church.
“I’m very grateful kay God for giving me this wonderful talent. All I do is practice and the acknowledgement is bonus. I’m happy maraming natuwa sa akin. I’m glad to share my talent to them, to show them what God has given me,” Saraza, who plays mostly classical music, said.
The Liceo de Cagayan University (LDCU) brought Saraza to Cagayan de Oro to share “the beauty of art” with the Cagayanons.
“They say that art is life and you know art mirrors life and art is the icing of life. So, here at Rodelsa Hall we would like to showcase all the talents not just here in the Philippines but all over the world. And as much as we can, we would like to share this beauty, the beauty of art, to a lot of people and make it reachable to even students and even ordinary people because we believe that art is for everyone,” said Owen Jaen, program coordinator of LDCU’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
“Work, dedication, passion are needed in order to do something excellent and great,” added Rudolf Caesar Golez, LDCU’s vice president for External, Cultural and Alumni Affairs. -Report from Trini Velasco, ABS-CBN News Northern Mindanao

Constellation2k July 4th, 2011, 01:52 AM Better operations
By FLORO L. MERCENE
July 4, 2011, 4:41am
MANILA, Philippines — A subsidiary of Airbus, specializing in state-of-the-art flight operations, is now helping the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines update its airport operations.
Quovadiz, a French company, will support the implementation of a Performance- Based Navigation (PBN) Network in some of the major airports in the country without cost to the government.
The program is jointly sponsored by the French Civil Aviation, the French Civil Aviation University, Airbus, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, AirPhil Express, and Zest Airways.
The airports that will benefit from this upgraded, next-generation air traffic management would be Manila, Puerto Princesa, Zamboanga, Butuan, Dumaguete, Legaspi, Iloilo, Clark, Bacolod, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Kalibo, Laoag, and Subic.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Ramon Gutierrez says the new system will take advantage of the CAAP skills and knowledge in various lines of air traffic that are keys to safe and efficient PBN implementation.
The current aviation procedures in the country require that aircraft navigate using groundbased systems such as the Distance Measuring Equipment, very-high-frequency omni directional range, and radar.
With the help of these Navaids, aircraft are also able to ride on the so-called “highway in the sky” which are invisible tracks or radials until they reach their destinations.
The PBN does away with these tracks or radials, which go zigzagging in the sky, following predetermined routes as defined by the Navaids.
The PNB routes are based on satellites, whose signals are received by compatible equipment in the cockpit of the aircraft, which can fly directly from the point of departure to the point of destination, Gutierrez said.
In this manner, shorter routes mean shorter flying time, which give aircraft operators savings in fuel.
Among other advantages, aircraft would have lower carbon emissions and also be able to avoid urban areas to minimize noise.
According to the CAAP headman, about 80 to 90 percent of many modern commercial aircraft are equipped with PBN-compatible equipment. He said that the International Civil Aviation Organization requires that all aircraft operating in the country must be equipped with the same instruments by 2016.

Constellation2k July 4th, 2011, 01:55 AM 11 provincial airports get runway lights
MONDAY JULY 04, 2011 PHILIPPINES
THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has provided runway lights to 11 provincial airports to enable them to operate at night and to allow domestic flights to spread their schedule and avoid congestion during departures in Manila.
In a dialogue among CAAP, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and domestic carriers Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air and Sea Air, it was discovered that congestion at the premier airport was due to domestic carriers bundling their departures early in the morning, at noon, and sometime in the afternoon so that all their planes would be able to take off for Manila before sunset.
Congestion occurs when more than 36 departures are made within an hour at the NAIA. The operators do this so their planes can return to Manila before making another provincial run, maximizing their operations during the daylight hours.
CAAP director general Ramon S. Gutierrez said runway lights are being provided to the 11 provincial airports, namely Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Kalibo, Laoag, Iloilo, Bacolod, Tacloban, General Santos and Dumaguete, to enable these ports to serve airlines at night. He said the MIAA has also fixed the allowed number of departures per hour to a maximum of 36 flights for the safety of the flying public.
Gutierrez also announced that performance-based navigation (PBN), a component of the Communication, Navigation System/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) which uses satellite navigation instead of ground-based equipment, is now under construction within the CAAP compound.
"CNS/ATM is the next generation of air traffic management and communications system, which is being constructed under the Transportation and Communications department," Gutierrez said. Once completed in 2013, he said this system will do away with ground-based navigation aids such as very high frequency omni directional range, non-directional beacon, and other post World War II vintage system.
Gutierrez said air traffic management in the country in the near future will rely solely on satellites, so that aircraft which has compatible equipment in its cockpit could fly directly from point of departure to point of destination. –Jay Chua

cofnar July 4th, 2011, 12:35 PM Lasang Treetops and Boardwalk in Initao to be opened to public
Posted on August 7, 2009 by damarre
http://cagayandeorodev.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/anthro-90.jpg?w=300&h=225
MISAMIS Oriental’s Lasang Treetops and Boardwalk eco-tourism project is set to be opened to the public after its soft-opening on August 12, 2009.
The provincial government-initiated project inside the 1,300.78-hectare Initao National Park shall be known simply as Lasang. It would be because travelers could easily remember the place, passing through the national highway in Initao and Libertad towns, since the area is thickly-forested. Lasang is the Cebuano term for forest.
Specifically, the 50.58-hectare Lasang project covers portions of Initao’s barangay Tubigan and Libertad’s barangay Gimanlayan, on the left side if one is headed to the west and opposite to the so-called Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape and Seascape on the right.
Lasang’s entrance is just beside the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Tourism consultant Dorothy Jean Pabayo, who heads the Lasang Task Force, said that the construction of the P3-million Lasang project of the provincial government of Misamis Oriental started last year, with the assistance of the DENR.
“Today, the zip-line is already in place. There are now five hanging bridges, aside from the 100-meter board and 80-foot spiral staircase,” said Pabayo.
She said the structures that have been constructed make it possible for visitors to explore and experience the “inner sanctum” of Lasang which is predominantly characterized by century-old and naturally-grown trees.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_N0DzjoLrRSM/ScExWeIGmLI/AAAAAAAAAVo/OZ4D2-JgTSk/s320/anthro+(80).JPG
Wildlife enforcement officer Eddie Macasusi said that aside from the forests, there have been sightings of tarsiers since 1987 and there could be about 20 of them in the area. Tarsier is considered as the world’s smallest monkey. Ordinarily, one could not see tarsiers during the day since they are nocturnal.
“What we usually see are the long-tail macaque monkeys and there are hundreds of them here,” Macasusi said.
Aside from tarsiers and monkeys, Lasang has been the home of many endangered animals and these include monitor lizards (palao), seal-fin lizards (ibid), flying lemurs (kagwang), and chicken-like dark-brown fowls known as megapodes (kahael).
Right at the entrance of Lasang, playful Rosalinda (female monkey) could greet visitors with her friendly body languages.
Among the rare birds that thrive in Lasang include imperial pigeons (bawod), native doves (alimokon), emerald doves (manatad), and serpent eagles. There are three serpent eagles, all males, two of them were released in 2007 and another one last year.
“Certainly, the lush vegetation, the animals, birds and insects are attractions by themselves. But it takes more than that now since we have already put in place the structures and amenities for visitors in the area,” the province’s tourism guru stressed

Based on the layout, Cagayan de Oro-bound vehicles from the airport will access the bridge and then turn east while Iligan-bound vehicles will take the right lane exit towards the west.
On the other hand, airport bound vehicles from Cagayan de Oro will take the right lane of the National Highway while airport-bound vehicles from Ilgan City will take the right lane of the highway then access the bridge.
If the National Government will provide funds for its implementation, this will be the first of its kind in the region.

Taegon July 5th, 2011, 11:38 AM Agri-Pinoy meat hubs pushed to boost trade
Tuesday, July 5, 2011
The Bureau of Animal Industry is seeking the establishment of post-production centers for meat to help address supply chain gaps which jack up cost and unreliability of the commodity.
"We're looking into possibly establishing these centers through public-private partnerships," BAI Director Efren Nuestro said in a government press release.
He added that establishing the centers or agri-Pinoy meat trading hubs will help boost the local meat industry's competitiveness, particularly as the Department of Agriculture confirmed the Office International des Epizooties in mid-2011 declared the Philippines free from foot-and-mouth disease which affects pigs, carabaos, cattle, sheep and goats.
Establishing the hubs is also in line with government's bid to ensure food security nationwide and to increase income levels in the Philippine agricultural sector, he noted.
Among BAI's target project beneficiaries are meat producers, processors, wholesalers and institutional consumers.
BAI aims locating each of the proposed trading hubs near slaughterhouses which lack facilities for refrigerating and processing carcass of livestock slaughtered there.
By providing cold storage and other post-production facilities in such hubs, carcass delivered there can be handled and processed in accordance with applicable protocols before the meat and meat products are sold to wholesale buyers.
Nuestro said this will help assure quality since the government will require the hubs to have post-production facilities that meet standards.
He said private post-production facilities for meat are scattered at present, making it difficult for authorities to monitor compliance with standards for these.
The proposal to establish agri-Pinoy hubs will also help increase the efficiency of meat companies' respective operations, including lessening wastage, Nuestro added.
Nuestro said the government might allow meat companies and even small stakeholders concerned to rent the facilities.
Another option is to allow such companies and stakeholders to own inside the hubs spaces where each can undertake cutting and other post-production activities, he continued.
"Wholesale buyers can directly purchase in bulk meat produce and products available in the hubs," he also said.
For the 2012-2016 period, Nuestro said BAI earlier targeted establishing the hubs in major trading areas like Bulacan and Batangas provinces in Luzon and Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao.
A local government unit in the Visayas' Iloilo province is developing similar facilities there and BAI won't block such undertaking, Nuestro said.*PNA

Taegon July 5th, 2011, 11:41 AM Aviation schools agree to hold training flights outside metro
Published : Tuesday, July 05, 2011 00:00
Written by : Itchie G. Cabayan
A TOTAL of 15 aviation schools have agreed to move their flight training operations out of Manila in an effort to decongest aircraft traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s General Aviation (GenAv) Area.
This was learned from Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) director-general Ramon Gutierrez, who said that slotting problems especially for commercial flight operators have been brought about by the growing number of student pilots using the Manila runways which have caused decongestion at the premiere airport.
To address the slotting issues, the CAAP chief held numerous dialogues with the flight training schools operating at the GenAv to convince them to use airstrips outside Manila for their flight training operations. So far, 15 such schools have agreed to stop using the GenAv area and move their flight training to airstrips including Plaridel in Bulacan, Clark Field in Pampanga and Binalonan, in Pangasinan.
Once the 15 schools finally move their flight training operations out of Manila, it would mean opening more slots for commercial airlines as the move would considerably free up the 36 maximum departures which the CAAP allows at the NAIA every hour.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez said the CAAP is studying the feasibility of making more airports around the country capable of night operations also to decongest the NAIA.
He said that aside from the Manila airport, other airports in the country that are night-flight capable include Mactan in Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, General Santos City, Silay in Bacolod, Puerto Princesa City, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Laoag, Kalibo, Tacloban, and Zamboanga City.
Once the provincial airports which should be fitted with night flight capability are identified, the upgrading project will start immediately so that airline companies, including foreign air carriers, can decongest the Manila terminals by flying directly to their destinations.
“With more provincial airports capable of night-flight operations, domestic carriers need not rush to fly back to Manila before dusk to prevent their airplanes for lying idle in the provincial airport overnight,” he said.

It’s been almost five months since I posted (LINK) the tarpaulin installed at Jesus Nazareno Parish Church about their proposed altar renovation. Not until today that a good friend took a snapshot of the newly-renovated altar shown above.
Compare it with the perspective of the altar which was depicted in the tarpaulin.

Cable TV pioneer Engr. Elpie Paras again reiterated in his facebook account the putting up of DropZone, another adrenaline rush thrill ride amid the rising popularity of his Dahilayan Aventure Park.
In my post last February (LINK (http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/?p=9691)), I mentioned that DropZone is a base jumping simulator as announced by Engr. Paras. However, in his recent wall post in his FB account, pictures below show Engr. Paras trying out the Sky Coaster at Six Flags, a known chain of theme parks in the US.
http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/drop.jpg
In my opinion, this version is much safer than the base jumping simulator. In Sky Coaster, riders in groups of 1 to 3 are winched to the top of a launch tower and then dropped towards the ground, swinging from a cable tether back and forth until brought to a rest. Sky Coasters can range from 100–300 feet (30.5–91.4 m) in height.
Well, whatever the final DropZone will be, it’s still going to be quite an adventure…to the max!

http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/drop.jpg
In my opinion, this version is much safer than the base jumping simulator. In Sky Coaster, riders in groups of 1 to 3 are winched to the top of a launch tower and then dropped towards the ground, swinging from a cable tether back and forth until brought to a rest. Sky Coasters can range from 100–300 feet (30.5–91.4 m) in height.
Well, whatever the final DropZone will be, it’s still going to be quite an adventure…to the max!

840-m Dual Zipline
MANILA, Philippines -- Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon is one of the most visited places in the country. It lies at the foothills of Mount Kitanglad Range which is declared as a national park and is more than 4,000 feet above sea level.
The park’s dual zip-line is touted to be the longest in Asia. It consists of two cables each 840 meters long from point to point, with safety cable also 840 meters long. Total length of cables is 2,460 meters. Elevation drop is 100 meters with estimated speed ranging from 60 to 100 kilometers per hour.
The Pine Grove Mountain Lodge is the biggest building at the Zip Zone. Here, visitors and guests can eat, relax, or opt to stay in one of its fine rooms, which, incidentally, was where KC Concepcion and Sam Milby filmed parts of the movie Forever and a Day.
The zip line may be the longest and scariest, but the park itself is the most beautiful, greenest, and cleanest this part of the world.
Aside from it being a smoke-free park, its lush greenery of pine trees, Bermuda grass, flowering plants and other ornamentals are well-maintained. One of its main come-ons is a small plane at the center of the main entrance. Overall, the surrounding is perfect for both children and adults.
The Forest Park is an ideal destination for a family. There is a playground full of replicas of life-size animals. It also offers extreme adventures. It has an All-Terrain Vehicle that can be rented and zorb balls which are used to roll down the hill. Horseback riding and mini-boat ski ride are also available. Children will enjoy doing the 21 platforms tree top adventure, a 175-meter obstacle course adventure.
Have a picnic amongst life-size replicas of tigers, tortoise, crocodiles, gorillas, giraffes, and hippopotamus, to name a few.
Victor, the first of the Paras siblings who bought a property in Dahilayan, developed his place into a wedding venue and called it Dahilayan Garden and Resorts. Aside from weddings, the place is also good for fishing since there is a pond inside the resort. Children will enjoy riding the aqua balls.
Another Paras sibling put up a restaurant and called it The Cow Boy Grill. A sister, on the other hand, created a beautiful garden in her lot which she called Botanica Café and Garden that serves coffee, pasta and salads to visitors.
If you want to experience extreme adventure, then try the Dahican Adventure Park experience. In some instances, the area gets covered with fog, so as a precaution, the management reminds: “Due to sudden weather and temperature change, everyone is requested to bring their winter coats and jackets.”
How to get there:
Dahilayan Adventure Park is about one hour and thirty-minutes from Cagayan de Oro City. From the city, take the Davao-Bukidnon Highway, right on the Alae Junction, proceed 25 kilometers, passing by the Del Monte Camp Philipps and pineapple plantation. Look around for markers that indicate where the adventure park is.

My first few days in the city already gave me a sad impression towards mindanao. is it really like that? chaotic, full of trash, beggars everywhere, and it seems like there is a far crying division between the poor and the rich. akala ko land of promise ang mindanao. i thought i can only see such poverty in depressed areas in manila but cagayan de oro is worst. sana maayos na ang city ninyo to think that it is actually aiming to be a tourist destination, which i think is not impossible for your city since you are close to beautiful spots like bukidnon and camiguin, but the city center does not have anything to offer except for cheap bars and restos. hope to see more of mindanao.basin billionaire ni xa....hehehehehe....for me lng mas nice ang cdo puy an compare to polluted metro manila, ang dagat, air, pati noise pollution, beggars mas daghan pana sa metro manila bsag istero ug ilalom sa tulay g puy an.....hehehehehe.....compare sa cdo dili pareha ka worst ang poverty level dari sa ato.....
jaysan81286 July 7th, 2011, 04:45 AM E-jeepney now in Oro
By Nicole J. Managbanag
Wednesday, July 6, 2011
THE first E-jeepney (electronic jeepney) in Mindanao will now be experienced within the premises of Pueblo de Oro Business Park and subdivision as one of its shuttle services.
During the launching of Primavera residences on Tuesday, it was announced that E-jeepney will also be used as mode of transportation to passengers going in and out of Pueblo de Oro premises as part of the company's campaign for a green environment.
Rommel T. Juan, vice president of E-jeepney manufacturers, said the vehicle is considered environment-friendly because it does not create noise or produce harmful exhaust emissions like carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide that can contribute to climate change at excessive levels.
Juan said various studies have shown that every liter of diesel avoided results in a reduction of 3,140 grams of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and 16 grams of N2O (nitrous oxide) released to the atmosphere.
Unlike hybrids or electric concept cars, the E-jeepneys use ordinary car batteries for power. And while this is far from the gold standard of electric vehicles (the latest ones use batteries similar to those used on laptops), it is still better than fossil fuels. The idea is that electric vehicles get "cleaner" as time passes and the electric grid begins using more eco-friendly power sources.
With a build similar to small "multicab" shuttle vehicles that seat 12 passengers, Juan said the Ejeepneys are perfect for short community routes.
In the recent counting, there are now 70 E-jeepneys roaming around in some parts of the country, including the one acquired by the shuttle in charge around Pueblo de Oro, Juan said.
Elena Orpilla, proprietor of SM-Pueblo shuttle services, said she chose to order the E-jeepney for the purpose of providing a convenient means of transportation to Pueblo residents and workers as she wants them to be familiar with the electric vehicles and be active in the campaign of having a friendly environment.
Orpilla was very amazed when she conducted a road test for her E-jeepney upon the vehicle's arrival, as it was indeed smoke-free and odorless.
Her E-jeepney is an addition to her six other traditional diesel transport shuttle.
Orpilla hopes that in the future, more operators will patronize E-jeepney as the new mode of transportation for Cagayan de Oro.

The City Government of Cagayan de Oro has began the construction of the Macanhan Flyover.
As a result, a major traffic jam occurred at the junction which surprised many motorists when the City’s Road and Traffic Administration (RTA) implemented a re-routing scheme with little prior unfo dissemination. Masterson Avenue is now closed to all motorists as the large pile driver occupied the existing two lanes of the road. Both uptown-bound and downtown-bound vehicles from uptown area will have to take the SM-Landfill Road while another alternative will take the more distant Pelaez Bridge and South Diversion Road.
The project is scheduled to be completed in four (4) months. As shown, the re-routing removed the traffic in the area and the contractor can now focused on the project with little disturbance. Adjoining properties will be affected.

Pueblo de Oro Development plans solar-powered condo
CAGAYAN DE ORO -- Pueblo de Oro Development Corp. formally launched plans for what it claimed to be Mindanao’s first eco-friendly condominium on Tuesday with solar panels to be installed on the roof to produce around 150 kilowatts peak renewable energy.
The project, dubbed “Primavera Residences,” is a 10-storey twin-tower Italian-designed condominium with architectural features that promise to cut lighting and cooling costs for tenants.
Expected completion date for its Tower A is set for July 2012.
“Primavera Residences complements other green efforts in the Pueblo de Oro Township, including the 40-hectare Pueblo Urban Rainforest and the electric shuttles that would soon be serving Township residents,” said Rodolfo L. Meñes, Pueblo de Oro Development vice-president and general manager.
“When the ‘Net Metering Law’ will be implemented in Mindanao in the next two years in our estimate, the photovoltaic cells will feed electricity to the local distribution utility grid,” Romolo V. Nati, president of architectural firm ItalPinas, said.
“[In the meantime], we will be using the energy produced from the solar cells to directly power the common and shared areas of Primavera,” he said. -- MDB

55K Trail Ultra Marathon kicks off July 9
MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON -- The starting gun on Mindanao’s first ultra marathon hasn’t been fired yet but the event already promises to put the island in the global sports map of ultra distance running.
The Cagayan de Oro-Dahilayan 55K Trail Ultra Marathon covers Cagayan de Oro City and the municipalities of Libona and Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon, said Francis C. Velasquez, race director.
By dawn of Saturday, July 9, runners jump off at 3 a.m. from the Cagayan de Oro City Hall then pass through Barangays Nazareth, Balubal and Indahag; Barangays Capihan, Crossing, Gango, Kiliog and Kinawe in Libona town, Barangays Agusan Canyon and Ala-e before winding up at the Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
Some 166 runners have registered so far for the trail run that classifies 10 kilometers of the 55-km race as “steep uphill.” “We’re so happy to hit 166,” said Mr. Velasquez. “Our original target was 100 though we prepared for 150 slots.”
Mr. Velasquez said this is a pretty good number considering how similar events such as the Mayon Ultra had 80-plus participants; Bataan Death March Ultra with 142; and Cebu Ultra with 200. “So we are in pretty good company,” he grinned. Among the participants are two Americans, two Filipino-Americans, one Malaysian, one Kenyan, around 40 from Manila and Luzon, 20 from Cebu, and another 20 from Mindanao.
Celebrity runner Senator Pia S. Cayetano was interested but is injured while Leo Oracion of the Philippine Mt. Everest Team has reserved a slot. Jaymie Pizarro, better known as the celebrity running blogger “The Bull Runner” and Lit Onrubia, the Philippines’ first certified Chi Running instructor, evaluated the course earlier last April.
“I’ve been searching for the ideal race for my first ultra and this one has all of the elements I’ve been looking out for: natural scenery, off-road, safe (traffic-free) and fun -- relaxed, nothing too serious, and among good friends,” said Ms. Pizarro.
“I beg to disagree with Jaymie on the race being ‘not too difficult’ because I think it’s ridiculously difficult,” Mr. Onrubia said. “However, I have to say it is a world-class running event based on what she said about it.”
Mr. Velasquez said there will be an aid station every five kilometers along the race route although each runner is allowed to have an officially certified ‘support vehicle’ and the organizers have made a headlamp/flashlight, hydration system and trail/light food mandatory.
Participants are also encouraged to used cushioning shoes and trail shoes instead of flats and minimalist shoes, running caps and visors, headgears, and arm warmers and bring along loose change or small bills along with a mobile phone. A running clinic, race briefing and carbo loading event has been scheduled at a local hotel on Thursday, July 7.
An ultra marathon is a running event longer than the traditional 42.195-kilometer marathon as defined by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU). The IAU-sanctioned ultras cover 50 km, 100 km, 24 hours and ultra trail running. These events are sanctioned by the International Association of Athletics Federations, the world governing body of track and field.
Many countries around the world have their own ultra. Among the more famous events in Asia are IAU World Championships in Taiwan, Japan, India, Korea and China.
While certainly not in the league of world-famous Asian ultras like China’s Gobi March and Mongolia’s Sunrise to Sunset marathon, Singapore’s Sundown Double Marathon night races or Nepal’s Annapurna 100, the Cagayan de Oro-Dahilayan 55K Ultra Marathon combines the best elements of the two types of ultras.
“It covers a specified distance of 55 kilometers and a cutoff time of 12 hours. It is point-to-point but presents many elements of trail challenges such as steep elevations and rugged terrain and most of the race will be run on dirt roads,” said Jeffrey T. Ang, president of Circle Productions which organized the event. “Aid stations will be located every five to 15 kilometers, where runners can replenish food and drink supplies or take a short break.” -- Michael D. Baños

Taegon July 7th, 2011, 12:50 PM Surplus offers denim glossary
Wednesday, July 6, 2011
THE evolution of jeans into an iconic fashion item has given rise to many styles, shapes and washes - from slim to relaxed, from light to dark to acid washes.
Designers have also added cool heavy stitching, patches and distress detailing to give it that edgy feel.
With so many types of jeans in the market, the challenge is to find the right pair that will make you look your best.
Here, Surplus gives us a guide to finding the right pair of jeans for you.
Skinny Fit. Sprayed on or slouchy, this style skims in calf and ankle.
Skinny jeans are a good choice for petites because they do not have a lot of fabric to weight the body down. Petites also look great with dark wash jeans, as this will make them longer and leaner.
Slim Fit. Men will stand tall in slim fit jeans, which are constructed to keep you looking lean.
Straight. A classic look where the lower leg falls straight from the knee, these are suitable for more formal occasions. Straight cut jeans also look best with boy shaped bodies, as this minimizes extra fabric, which causes the silhouette to look heavier. Surplus has straight cut jeans in both regular and big sizes.
Jeggings. This super stretchy style is meant to fit like a second skin. It looks best on curvy figures as the stretch hugs your curves and shows them off.
The Denim Collection is available at Surplus located at the Second Floor of SM City Cagayan de Oro.
Surplus is also on Facebook. Simply search and visit Surplus Shop at Facebook. (PR)

Taegon July 7th, 2011, 12:51 PM Oro police start 'Isang Text, Isang Tawag' program
By Annabelle L. Ricalde
Wednesday, July 6, 2011
THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) launched on Wednesday the "Isang Text, Isang Tawag" program at the Cogon Police Station as part of its campaign against criminality in the city.
Police Senior Inspector Elmer Robas, station commander of Cogon Police Station, said all barangays under the jurisdiction of Cogon police will be provided with the mobile and landline numbers.
"Through this, there will also be a faster response against criminality in the city," Robas said.
Senior Superintendent Gerardo Rosales, Cocpo chief, said the program will be implemented in all police stations in the city.
In June, Rosales said the program has been launched at the Police Station 1 in Divisoria and at Police Station 10 in Cugman.
"Isang Text, Isang Tawag" program will allow all concerned citizens to inform the police through text or call about any illegal activities in their area, such as illegal drugs and any form of illegal gambling.
"Kahit na 'yung mga tao na suspicious, lalo na't bago lang nila nakita sa barangay nila, puwede nilang i-text or itawag sa mga hotline numbers sa police station," Rosales said.
The Cocpo chief explained that some people and even police are cuddling criminals, so he urged the public to also report this.
For his part, Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya, chair of the City Council committee on police, fire and public safety, expressed support of the program and assured that his committee will regularly monitor how the police respond to the information and complaints of the people through text and call.
"We also call on the public to help our police by supporting this program because through this, they can push for peace and order in the city," Nacaya said.
He said concerned citizens need not worry or fear because their numbers will not be disclosed.

P250-M Primavera Residences launched in Oro
By Nicole J. Managbanag
Wednesday, July 6, 2011
THE P250-million Primavera Residences was officially launched on Tuesday in time for its full operation in 2012.
The 10-storey twin-tower condominium complex, the first breakthrough project of ItalPinas Euro-Asian Design and Eco-Development Corporation in Cagayan de Oro, is the first green building in the city nestled within Pueblo de Oro Business Park along Fr. Masterson Avenue in Upper Carmen.
Romulo Nati, president and chief executive officer of ItalPinas, said ItalPinas designed the building in accordance with eco-friendly principles, being a sustaining member of the Philippine Green Building Council.
He said Primavera is designed to generate part of its own energy requirements, minimizing power usage and maximizing natural light and ventilation.
Because of its state-of-the-art amenities that were recently recognized as one of the most promising clean energy investment opportunities in the Philippines during the CTI-PFAN (Climate Technology Initiative-Private Financing Advisory Network) Philippines Clean Energy Investor Forum, Nati said more investors were encouraged to put their trust on Primavera.
"Aside from the investors coming in, 30 percent of the units were already sold to mostly overseas Filipino workers who are getting ready for their retirement," Nati said.
For as low as P2.2 million, clients can avail of a studio-type condominium with an inner green courtyard and terrace for natural ventilation and lighting plus a photovoltaic cell (solar panels) for additional energy production.
Primavera also offers safe and secure lock-and-leave environment with round-the-clock security aside from its ample location, it being nestled right beside SM City Cagayan de Oro and near schools, churches, ATMs and convenience stores.
"The building is now on its 30 percent of completion. After the launching, my men will have a full-blast operation in terms of the construction, in time for the expected date to finish," Nati said.
He also said they are confident that all of Primavera's 138 residential and 18 commercial units will be sold out in 17 months before they go full swing.

Taegon July 7th, 2011, 12:58 PM Pastor introduces common livelihood programs
Wednesday, July 6, 2011
ATTENTION enthusiasts on small-scaled businesses.
Seeking daily bread may not be as difficult as it should be, according to Pastor Romeo Bordallo Sr.
"All that an industrious person should do is to buy livelihood programs introduced by experts from local communities," Pastor Bordallo said in a talk with Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro recently.
Bordallo, a veteran livelihood coordinator of soaring "bayanihan-schemed" firm Consumers and Users Productivity Association (CUP) in Cagayan de Oro, has all the pieces to answer concerns on high investments to establish a business that is enough to finance the daily income of poverty-ridden local residents.
"With different flavors of pies such as coconut, pizza, pine apple, egg, cassava, carrots and squash or even bibingka, an oven-baked ground rice; small-scaled business enthusiasts may not live as luxurious as the rich are, but could live better lives. Selling it for affordable prices can already be enough for them to have an income," said Bordallo, who offers free briefings on how to establish small-scaled businesses, food processing and the secrets of cooking delightful pies to interested CUP and non-CUP members.
For business opportunity seminars and training programs, men and women who are livelihood-seeking aficionados may come and visit the CUP office at 2nd floor, Chan Yu building, Caltex-Bulua highway, Cagayan de Oro City. (Loui S. Maliza)

Taegon July 7th, 2011, 01:09 PM Power firm eyes solar energy plant in Oro
Thursday, 07 July 2011 00:00
A POWER generation firm is interested in setting up a 20-megawatt solar power plant in Cagayan de Oro.
Jose Leviste, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Mirant Philippines, said Mirant is very interested in constructing the second solar power plant in the country.
Leviste revealed that Mirant Philippines, a competitive energy company that produces and sells renewable electricity in the United States, the Caribbean and the Philippines, is scouting for the possible solar farm that would generate 20 megawatts of electricity.
"We are very interested in constructing renewable energy sources such as hydro power plants, geothermal, wind and solar power plants. Here in Mindanao, especially Northern Mindanao, you enjoy the sun all year round, and you are typhoon-free," Leviste said.
According to Leviste, Mirant Philippines has several projects in hydro power in Central Luzon, Mindoro IsLand and Negros province.
Leviste said the Land they are scouting should have an area of 20 or 30 hectares and not be agricultural Land, with a 3-degree slope angle. Leviste added that the government should prioritize renewable energy resources. Leviste did not downplay studies that show Mindanao's rivers and rainfall as dropping, and that other power plants should be constructed. Leviste opined that in the future energy sources are of mixed source, and technology to make coal-fired power plants to make it greener is now being developed.
"Before you can never make coal clean but there are new technologies now being developed to make its emission cleaner," Leviste added.
Leviste, who is also the chairman of ItalPinas, a company engaged in Real Estate investment, development, architectural and design eco services which has its flagship project in Cagayan de Oro with the Primavera Residences in Pueblo de Oro Township, said they are going for exploratory talks with Cagayan de Oro Electric Power and Light Company.

It’s been almost five months since I posted (LINK) the tarpaulin installed at Jesus Nazareno Parish Church about their proposed altar renovation. Not until today that a good friend took a snapshot of the newly-renovated altar shown above.
Compare it with the perspective of the altar which was depicted in the tarpaulin.

http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/bot.jpg
Cable TV pioneer Engr. Elpie Paras again reiterated in his facebook account the putting up of DropZone, another adrenaline rush thrill ride amid the rising popularity of his Dahilayan Aventure Park.
In my post last February (LINK: http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/?p=9691), I mentioned that DropZone is a base jumping simulator as announced by Engr.

Taegon July 7th, 2011, 01:29 PM Flyover project results in traffic rerouting in Carmen
Thursday, 07 July 2011 00:00
THE Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) started implementing on Tuesday a traffic rerouting scheme for vehicles in Carmen.
The temporary traffic scheme is in line with the construction of the P119-million flyover project of city hall in Carmen. A similar project, which costs P107 million, is being undertaken at CM Recto Avenue.
According to an advisory prepared by RTA administrative officer Engr. Nonito Oclarit, the following are the temporary routes:
• All public jeepneys going to Xavier Heights and Lumbia and to the more hinterLand barangays, including the ones traversing the Talakag and Baungon routes, are to turn right to Concordio Diel St. instead of heading directly towards the Macanhan junction.
• From Concordio Diel St., they are to proceed to Canitoan-Landfill Road, turn left to SM-Landfill Road, turn left to Macapagal Drive and proceed to their destinations.
• Concordio Diel St. and Rabanes St. are strictly one-way for motorists heading west.
• All motorists going to Macanhan and Balulang are to pass Acacia St. and Everlasting St.
• All motorists going to Xavier Heights and Lumbia are to take the SM-Landfill Road. mark francisco

nivramster July 8th, 2011, 04:29 AM Oro police start 'Isang Text, Isang Tawag' program

STRENGTHENING the BIMP-EAGA relationships and regional inter connectivity could be up for grab this October 2011 during the Ministerial Meeting scheduled in Cagayan de Oro City.
Leaders of the East Asian Countries will be coming to our city in a 3days conference to provide key directives in the implementation of priority projects in the sub region particularly in the areas of transportation, energy, travel and other trade facilitations. The conference is also expected to tackle food security, eco-tourism and other sustainable management of each countries natural resource and the environment.
The host City of Cagayan de Oro under the leadership of City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano has left no stone unturned as far as preparation for this important international event. Three landmark infrastructures were simultaneously started and respectively targeted for a 120 days and 90 days completion to solve traffic problems confronting the city. The Puerto – Sayre Highway overpass which was started last April and the Licoan – Lapasan and Masterson Avenue- Macanhan Flyovers which break grounds last July 1, 2011, showcasing the City’s vision to solve if not lessen traffic problem.
Established in 1994, the BIMP-EAGA is East Asia’s regional cooperation with an estimated 60 million people living in a 1.5 million square kilometers of land in four countries covering Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines which opens Mindanao as the direct link to our neighbor countries. In Northern Mindanao we can be positioned as an agricultural basket and eco-tourism destination. With the Laguindingan Airport ready for flight operation early 2012, air travel and cargo connectivity is a potential trade development.
Currently, there are also six potential Roro (Roll on Roll off) transport routes in Mindanao identified for the BIMP-EAGA connectivity. These are the Zamboanga-Sandakan, Zamboanga- Kota Kinabalo, Zamboanga- Muara, and Glan Sarangani – Tahuna in Indonesia and Brookes Point in Palawan to Sabah. Roro transport moves people and perishable cargoes with faster speed since goods can be trucked and loaded to ships then disembarks without unloading. Tourist Bus and private vehicles can be also be loaded and rolled inland after reaching their destinations.
Our relations with the East Asian countries are vital to the Mindanao based industries to source coal and fuel from Indonesia. Natural gas from Brunei and Malaysia could also be negotiated with a lower price and landed cost due to their proximity and distance. In return the Philippines could also supply trained manpower in the construction industries, hotels, health care and domestics to find a new market for those displaced from the Middle East.
In tourism, Malaysia leads us with 24.5 million international arrivals to Kuala Lumpor, showcasing their resorts and eco-tourism destination with a backdrop of Hindu and Chinese culture. Their cuisines are one of the best in the region. They have the marine endowed diving grounds and modern Triple A resorts in the Sandakan and Kota Kinabalo triangle.
There are potential good news this October that can be transformed to cost and economic benefits.

Construction of the 195-meter Puerto flyover is well on target of their August completion based on the pictures gathered today.
The Bugo approach of the flyover has been completed and the contractor is now working on the flyover connection and Puerto approach. As shown, they are now in the process of installing another bridge component. They have also started installing the steel railings. Traffic is still slow but moving.
Once completed, this will be the city’s first and by yearend, there will be three with the other flyover projects now underway with approximate completion targets of September – October.

Jul.08, 2011 in Construction

Construction of the 195-meter Puerto flyover is well on target of their August completion based on the pictures gathered today.
The Bugo approach of the flyover has been completed and the contractor is now working on the flyover connection and Puerto approach. As shown, they are now in the process of installing another bridge component. They have also started installing the steel railings. Traffic is still slow but moving.
Once completed, this will be the city’s first and by yearend, there will be three with the other flyover projects now underway with approximate completion targets of September – October.

it was a good CDO trip. . . .

TONZI July 12th, 2011, 07:42 AM PPA pursues port development projects
By EDU LOPEZ
July 12, 2011, 3:15am
news source - Manila Bulletin (http://mb.com.ph/articles/326438/ppa-pursues-port-development-projects)
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is pursuing various port projects in Cagayan de Oro and Tacloban and the port rehabilitation work in Pulupandan, Negros Oriental.
PPA General Manager Juan C. Sta. Ana stressed that the current port infrastructure plan puts premium on the PPA's mandate to provide the country’s sea travelling public with more efficient, appropriate and modern port facilities and equipment specifically in keyports or major gateways like the Cagayan de Oro (CDO) port.
The CDO port caters to an average of 1,200 passengers per day during regular season and 2,500 passengers per day during peak season.
On vessel calls, the port receives 7 vessels a day ranging from superferries, liners and tramping vessels. On cargo throughput, the port averages around 12,500 TEUs a month.
The PPA has lined up a number of infrastructure projects that could be implemented in the medium term that would allow the port to accommodate the growing port traffic, said Sta. Ana. Sta. Ana reiterated the PPA's commitment to implement the following individual projects at the CDO port in the latter part of 2011 and 2012 to include the paving of around 20,500 sq.m. newly developed operational back-up area to provide additional space for storage of container cargoes, the construction of new two-storey passenger terminal building (PTB) which is designed to accommodate 1,500 passengers at any given time and the construction of three RO-RO berths that would accommodate large long-haul RO-RO vessels of GRT ranging from 6,500 to 19,000 MT and with a minimum draft requirement of 7.0 meters.
These projects are included in the medium term public investment program (MTPIP) of the PPA with a total fund requirement of P72.21 million, P250 million and P50 million respectively. Sta Ana noted, however, the GMA modular RO-RO port that will cater only to small RO-RO vessels of 300 GRT, and its passenger terminal building which has a total area of 64 sq. m. will accommodate a maximum of 55 passengers.
It is a modular port system intended for remote locations in the Philippines that can be utilized primarily to service small vessels and is classified as RO-RO port for mobility enhancement, remote island development and social reform support, Sta. Ana further stressed.
The Tacloban port improvement and rehabilitation project, on the other hand, involves the expansion of the port's existing wharf which would require the installation of steel pipe sheet piles and waling (1,456 MT), rockworks (15,378 cu.m.), fill materials (37,544 cu.m.) and tie rods (14 sets of 32mm x 18m and 90 sets of 70mm x 24m).
The port handles both foreign and domestic ships and cargo vessels. It will also involve an additional, 7,904 sq.m. of cement; 2,975 sq.m. of interlocking concrete blocks pavement (ICBP) and 15 sets of V-1000H x 1000L rubber dock fenders and 7-sets 50 tons T-Head mooring fixtures will be installed.
Sta Ana said the new wharf project in Pulupandan, Negros, Occidental has a revised contract amount of P411.2 million and not P715 million as reported in the press. The project was completed in 2005 during the previous administration.
He stressed that it is not appropriate to make a comparison between the costs of the three PPA projects with the GMA modular RO-RO ports considering the enormity of the scope of work and the magnitude of the facilities in these major key ports.

HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINE FUTSAL CUP WINNERS CUP
Conceptualized and Created on November 2010 by Xarex Velasquez, who saw a great potential in FUTSAL. He saw that the 3rd Division players do not have an organized tournament to join in, so he created a series of 1-day-futsal cups. Not only did the tournament called PFCWC (Philippine Futsal Cup Winners Cup) attract beginners in futsal it also revived the thirst for fitness and love of the game for those former football players who have since retired from any sports activity .
Also, with the ULTIMATE GOAL of popularizing FUTSAL. He planned the PFCWC to be played on various covered courts around Metro Manila inorder for more Filipinos to see the sport which a testament of its motto PFCWC “Bringing Futsal Closer to Filipinos”.
The PFCWC was originally planned to be a tournament in Metro Manila only. But with interest in areas as far as Ilocos in the North and Cagayan de Oro in the South,....
