Thank you for sharing, Bern! Very informative! I got to try this "circle to land" on an ATR which was way scarier! Though your flight entered CdeO at Kauswagan area, my flight entered CdeO at Opol, Misamis Oriental, which is few kilometers west of CdeO so that we didn't had a view of downtown area, instead vast farm lands and the Iponan river. BTW, you were here last weekend? Are you still here in CdeO now? We'd be so glad to have a meet you! :)

^^ Hi! I was there between 6-10 November, but only managed to pass by at Cagayan de Oro, enroute to Iligan and Marawi City. Will be back there by next year and stay at CGY longer, and I'll inform you folks thru PM. I accidentally met Alingatong in Iligan City Hall though, hehe!

Three Filipino students are among the 60 young people currently in London for the weeklong Global Youth Summit to exchange ideas and best practices on global issues, like environment, poverty and education.
Cris Raymund Viray of St. Paul University Quezon City, Colleen Caryl Leslie Torres of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan and Laurence Lumagbas of Ateneo de Manila University, all 19 years old, were chosen from some 2,000 students from around the globe.
The summit, part of the British Council’s Global Changemakers initiative, ends on November 19.
Summit participants, aged 16 to 25, were handpicked for their “significant track record as social entrepreneurs, social activities and volunteers,” the British Council said in a statement.

Cagayan de Oro to host the 11th National Coop Summit in Oct. 2012
by Elaine O. Ratunil

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental, Nov. 15 (PIA) -- The City of Golden Friendship will host the 11th National Cooperative Summit on October 10-12, next year.

This was announced by Former Senator Agapito “Butz” Aquino, Chairman of the Philippine Cooperative Center (PCC) and National Summit Committee, during its official launching at the recently concluded Cooperative Peace Forum 11.11.11 last Nov. 11.

Anchored on the theme: “Cooperative Enterprises Build a Better Philippines,” the summit aims to highlight the contribution of the cooperatives’ socio-economic development in poverty alleviation and the mainstream cooperativism as a mode of doing business.

“The summit also intends to challenge and mobilize all of us to make our voices heard, make our presence felt by all sectors—basic sectors, business and government, do business together and expand our bases and create new wealth for our members and the future of our children,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aquino cited that Cagayan de Oro City as the home of the pioneers and leading cooperative federations in the country, such as Coop Life Mutual Benefit Services (CLIMBS) Life and General Insurance Cooperative, Mindanao Alliance Self-help Societies-Southern Philippines Educational Cooperative Center (MASS-SPECC), National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) and Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives (PFCCO).

CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano said he felt relieved when the P117-million Macanhan flyover was successfully inaugurated on Tuesday.

Emano said he was very grateful to UKC Builders, the contractor of the flyover, for completing the project on time which he hoped would erase all negative comments from some residents.

“The flyover was constructed for everyone to help ease the traffic condition in the city, particularly in this area,” Emano said during Tuesday’s inauguration.

He said the City Government has saved almost P2 million from the two flyovers, the savings of which will be used for the painting of the side-rails.

Emano said part of the savings would also be used to buy materials that would add to the safety and beautification of the two flyovers.

It does not have to be unique. but we have what people love to have (that is why they come here):

1. nature - all year round white water rafting, a privilege to be with untouched nature; ziplines in CDO and Dahilayan.

2. Food - we have ham (CDO is known to have delicious ham), pastel (although originated in Camiguin but these are locally made in CDO), and foods here are relatively inexpensive - metro manilans love to eat here in CDO).

3. (coming soon) riding on a amphibious vehicle - duck tours - the first and only one in the philippines.

Oh, and please do not forget PINEAPPLE. Although it is raised in Bukidnon, it is processed and canned in one of the largest canneries in the world, which is located in Cagayan de Oro City.

The much awaited golden glass panels are now being installed at the 19-storey Limketkai Hotel.

As shown, first set of the glass panels are seen at the southwest portion on the 5th and 6th floors of the building.
http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_3673.jpg

If the glass panels get approval from LKKS, here’s a rough rendition of how it would look like if the glass panels covered one side of the hotel.
http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_3673-copy.jpg

Meanwhile, the 19th floor is now being completed as shown below. I believe the top floor will not have rooms or suites but maybe a function hall.

http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_3672.jpg

Developments in Limketkai Complex continue with the renovation of Rosario Arcade.
The work relocated The Site Bar, Cafe Macumba and Taza Cafe. I believe that’s the rationale of their transfer to Kauswagan Highway. I also assume they will return to the arcade once renovation works are completed. The skybridge above is now connected to the Gateway and Hotel.

http://www.cagayandeorodev.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_3672-copy.jpg

This is probably the same circumstance with Sunburst Restaurant as shown below. For several months, it was closed and now, it has returned.

Just across Sunburst is another development along the sidewalk around the parking area fronting Robinsons. I still don’t know what LKK is up to this time but they have demolished the sidewalk as shown.

PAg-Asa modernization program on going
by Ninfa B. Quirante

CATBALOGAN CITY, SAMAR, Nov. 16 (PIA) -- Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAg-Asa)Senior Meteorological Officer Eddie Dela Cruz bared recently that the agency is now enjoying a five-year modernization program.

“We have been pushing for this program since 2003, and we are happy that it is taking off, from 2010-2015, ” Dela Cruz said.

The synoptic station, for example, will have a Php 400 thousand renovation plan. They have also purchased some modern equipment needed to monitor weather conditions such as the Microbarograph which measures the heat and coldness at any given time and the maximum /minimum thermometer.

There is also the Pag-asa Land Radar in Cebu which is for construction next year. This Php 69 million equipment can easily monitor weather disturbances in the Pacific and South Chine Sea (now called West Philippine Sea).

In Mindanao, he added that a Duplex Radar will be installed in Cagayan de Oro City and in another area he can not remember.

“This is also worth Php 52 M,” he shared.

“This is also worth Php 52 M,” he shared.

Hi mottymot, you can actually write to the one who used your pic and let him know of the crime he committed. By doing that he would know that what he is doing is VERY BAD and shameful!

December 9, 2011

... FREE ADMISSION

This event marks a milestone in BSM's career as a designer. 20 years ago it was in Marfori Apartments of Dolores-Rizal Sts. fronting Gaston Park where he opened his first shop in Cagayan de Oro. This year, BSM goes back to the park to celebrate hid two decades of fashion by presenting a fashion show for the people of CDO.

In cooperation with the City Government, the show which will feature top ramp models and prominent personalities wearing his creations is in line with the lighting of the giant Christmas Tree and other activities of Liga ng mga Barangay for December in the above-mentioned venue.

This will also help support the yearly gift-giving activity of MFEF to indigent people and hospital patients on Christmas which started several years ago. MFEF tied up with OFDG, FHGG and MACDO last year and had several charity projects with Miss Teen Philippines 2004 Stephanie Mae Sol.

This event is a project of MINDANAO FASHION & ENTERTAINMENT FORCE and is supported by angel sponsors mostly Facebook friends from all over the world also known as December Dream Angels http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150362955802773.346616.740982772&type=3

^^ Your welcome!

Here are my photos of Lumbia Airport and I can feel the brunt of the people of Nor-Min during delayed flights. No seats available (if there are, hi baggage!). Last time, the pre-departure lounge was full to the brim since there were delayed flights coming from MNL, CebPac, PAL, Zest and AirPhil...plus there was a flight by AirPhil to Cebu too.

I can sense the urgency of opening Laguindingan Airport

December Dream
a fashion show for a cause
December 9, 2011
7 PM at Gaston Park in Cagayan de Oro

Tunnel under CDO’s Lumbia jail discovered

By Cong Corrales | Friday| November 18, 2011 | Filed under: Top Stories

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (MindaNews/17 Nov) – Authorities here have discovered last Tuesday afternoon an 86-meter tunnel leading into the city jail in Barangay Lumbia that may well be the most organized and well-funded escape plan jail officials have seen in years.
...

Had it reached the compound, the tunnel would lead directly to the cell blocks of Batang Mindanao gang members, Batman gang, and the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) that holds high profile convicts that include the two Swedish nationals serving life imprisonment for human trafficking, two Chinese nationals serving life for drug trafficking and a police officer arrested for rape and drug trafficking.

^^the design of the hotel is really very simple - box type. Well, it is indeed a very good beginning.

IMO diha man gyud na magsugod simple nga design. in a few years, naa na pod magtokod high rise nga tsada og iconic ang design. people usually learn from things around them. kung kita na niya nga mas halinon ang naay design kay maoy bag-o, mao na pod na iyang buhaton sunod.

NorMin Area Development Plan highlights the LADP as an “aerotropolis”

LAGUINDINGAN, Misamis Oriental, Nov. 18 (PIA) -- The role of the Laguindingan Airport Development Project (LADP) in the expanded Cagayan-Iligan Corridor (CIC) will be that of an "aerotropolis" – the next major destination, in the country.

This was highlighted by Regional Director Leon M. Dacanay, Jr. of the National Economic and Development Authority, region 10 (NEDA-10) when he presented the Northern Mindanao Area Development Plan (NMDP) to the Sub-Committee on Land Use and Environment (SCLUE) of the Regional Development Council's (DC-X’) Special Committee on the LADP.

The presentation was done during the Laguindingan-Alubijid-Gitagum Cluster meeting at the Misamis Oriental Rural Electric Services Cooperative (MORESCO) 1 Training Center, here, last Nov. 16.

Other key development zones in the expanded CIC include the following: the Misamis Ecozones, the main center for industrial development which host most heavy and medium-scale industries.

The Cagayan de Oro (CDO) Metropolitan Area as the regional capital and growth center with major infrastructure and capital investments and the Iligan Industrial Core (IIC) with heavy industrial manufacturing plants and the Lanao del Norte Development (LDND) Cluster as an agri-industrial center.

Based on the commonality of resources, potentials and challenges, the region is divided into four spatial development clusters (SDCs) focusing on their functional role to the region‘s and country‘s economy.

SDC 1, which covers the western part of Misamis Oriental, eastern part of Lanao del Norte and the northern part of Bukidnon, leads the transshipment role of Region X and is geared towards realizing the CIC.

The core development themes and strategic interventions are directed towards ensuring an investment-friendly climate, managing land use and more livable settlements, and enhancing integration and connectivity of key development clusters/zones within the expanded CIC.

SDC 2, which focuses on capitalizing on the agri-fishery and eco-cultural tourism endowments of Lanao del Norte and Mis. Occ., SDC 3 on boosting agri-business and eco-tourism ventures in Bukidnon and SDC 4 on harnessing the Gingoog-Camiguin tourism adventure loop.

Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Pledge of Commitment for an inter-agency cooperation on various concerns was entered into by the Local Chief Executives (LCE’s) of the municipalities of Laguindingan, Alubijid and Gitagum, all of Mis. Or.

Included in the MOA is the establishment of a clustered sanitary landfill, implementation of an integrated approach on watershed management, adoption of an integrated coastal resource management plan, holistic food security program, responsive land use plans and zoning ordinances and urban greening program.

Signatories of the MOA were some 50 participants including officials and staff of the local governments of Gitagum, Alubijid and Laguindingan and representatives of the member-agencies of the SCLUE, RDC-X Special Committee on LADP. (NEDA/PIA-10)

ARTMAGEDDON By Igan D'Bayan

What did Robert Smith of The Cure say about Tuesday? That it’s starkly gray and so is Wednesday. Monday is depressingly blue, even the sourpusses from New Order tell us that. But Friday, well, it’s a much rosier day altogether.

How appropriate for Friday I’m In Love to be wafting from the speakers here at the recently opened 250-seater, freestanding, multi-level T.G.I.Friday’s in Eastwood City in Libis. The only place in the universe where it’s always the beginning of the weekend; rainy days and Mondays, things of the past. The story here is that the chain of restaurants specializing in huge servings of American fun and fare (bolstered by local dishes) now sports a shiny new look.

Bistro Group AVP for marketing Lisa Ronquillo calls it a “more modern contemporary T.G.I.Friday’s.”

Red is the predominant color, and wood is the dominant material. There are blues for accent only. Colors and textures are warm and bright with touches of urban sophistication. The new look is evident right from its very façade: no more canopies and awnings. Oh so mod.
Wall of memory: Friday’s memorabilia — from The Blues Brothers to that flick set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Gone are the Tiffany lamps, which represented the vintage era of the restaurant chain, as well as the red-and-white-striped ones. Now you have pendant lamps (round drop lights in the dining area above each table) dangling majestically from the ceiling, Lisa points out. There are swanky new red chairs, as well as “community tables and flexible banquette booths.”

“We call our booths ‘huggle-able,’” she says with a smile. Comfy these booths are and ideal for sharing with your favorite human beings, a warmer feel for guests. A sign in the upstairs dining area drives home the slogan, “In here, it’s always Friday.” Lisa adds. “It’s always weekends here, and it’s always fun. You can feel the energy.”

The bar is made of wood-and-stainless-steel combo (say goodbye to granite, goodbye pre-modern).

We take the stairs to the second floor, walking upon grandly sweeping steps. The staircase makes me think of Gone with the Wind, strangely, remade by Watchmen director Zach Snyder.

Friday’s still has that iconic rowing scull, a pair of saddle shoes nearby. If I were from Asgard I’d say, methinks of its significance.
Walk on: The stairway leading to the second floor of Friday’s in Eastwood City

The scull symbolizes that teamwork is always needed in a restaurant, Lisa informs the value of teamwork, leadership and the drive to succeed. “In paddling these boats, you always have to work as a team. You have a leader, but when you’re ready, the leader (will let you take it from there). In every Friday’s store opening, the trainer (who trained the crew) would symbolically turn over the saddle shoes to the manager, which means they are now ready to be on their own run the restaurant, working together as a team.”

T.G.I.Friday’s was established in the Philippines in December 1994 at Glorietta. It was then the biggest Friday’s in the world. It was an immediate hit. The first branch outside of Manila was built in Cebu. Now there are Friday’s in nearby Angeles and faraway Davao. (Lisa says, they’re currently setting their sights on Cagayan de Oro.) The new mod contemporary design first surfaced in the Galleria branch in 2006. Renovations followed Tomas Morato branch, Alabang Town Center, etc. Eastwood is the lucky 13th outlet.

Ain’t it fun

The memorabilia, from the Sixties to the Nineties, that festoon the walls and bar are still there, only updated. Rock ‘n’ roll icons (Lennon, Marley, Elvis, MJ, et al), movie posters and collectibles (the Star Wars cosmos), biker paraphernalia, toys communicate playfulness and everything frolicsome (from Sesame Street characters to vintage video games), all comprising what Friday’s calls “elegant clutter.” Kobe Bryant goes up for a shot. Bush, Nixon and Clinton pose for votes. Alfred E. Neuman has that quizzical expression which means, “What, me worry?”

Lisa points to the music wall an entire wall of acoustic and electric guitars, basses, keyboards and percussions acquired online or from vintage shops.

Why the need for a change, we ask Ronquillo.
Toys from the attic: The story of rock plus toy stories more memorabilia

“It’s part of the global direction to keep Friday’s more contemporary,” she answers. “While the ages of our target market remain the same 20 to 35 years old s’yempre for each generation iba ’yung icons.”

An aside: Would you believe some of the twentysomethings don’t even know who Pearl Jam is? (“I’ve heard of them,” says Joyen, the new singer in my band called the Black Vomits. She draws a blank on Faith No More. Some generations are more equal than others.)

“We need to keep things fresh,” Lisa stresses.

According to vice president of operations Lilet Martinez, T.G.I.Friday’s evolves with the times to relate to its growing market and make the brand more exciting.

Martinez explains, “The eclectic décor that has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the restaurant since its inception in the USA in 1965 remains; we rejuvenated the contents so they are relevant to the times and qualify as contemporary restaurant design. The memorabilia were framed, and the arrangement is more organized so as to make dining feel breezier. Given the changes in the look, Friday’s remains approachable, familiar and relaxing qualities that make every visit memorable.”
Red reign: Dining — Friday’s mod style

As for the DNA of the T.G.I.Friday’s franchise, Lisa sums it up quite well.

“The fun electric energy is what really drives Friday’s, and that is what our customers experience. That infectious energy. It should be evident in the servers how they express themselves through their hats, how they interact with the customers. We changed also the birthday songs our servers sing for our celebrants, their dance moves. Now, they sing and dance the Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling.”

As for the food, the Friday’s faithful should rest easy that the all-time favorites are still there such as Buffalo wings, that unparalleled Slider burgers, and the fabled chicken fingers. All-American throughout, but Pinoy dishes such as the Filipino pork liempo and Friday’s adobo are becoming bestsellers as well. (It’s not unusual to have local delicacies in a Friday’s joint. The Taiwanese Friday’s offers Hainanese chicken, enthuses Lisa. India has spicy delights.)

“When we roll out the new menu in December, there will be eight new items,” promises Lisa. Make way for some almond crusted chicken salad, grilled Caribbean wings, Jack Daniel’s sampler (Yes, Scott, tastes as cool as the name sounds), honey pecan salmon and sumptuous desserts.

She concludes that despite the changes, there will always be constants. “There will always be red and white stripes. There will always be large portions of great American dishes. There will always be the fun, eclectic clutter of our memorabilia.”

And it will always be Friday at Friday’s.

Amazing!

Hahahaha! Tom, it looks really good pag gabie, but pero kung maigo na sa kahayag, maklaro iya pagka ngil-ad. Although Pryce takes advantage of the fact that it owns the prime property that is Pryce Plaza, it certainly doesn't make sense for a luxe hotel to advertise a consumer brand alongside it.:lol::lol: bad, bad, bad branding...

The award was given during the 26th awarding ceremonies of the Apolinario Mabini Awards held at the Heroes Hall in Malacańang Palace last October 24.

The award was named after one of the country’s foremost heroes, Apolinario Mabini, also known as the Sublime Paralytic.

Board approves law on 4Ps
Friday, November 18, 2011

THE Provincial Board of Misamis Oriental recently approved a resolution authorizing Governor Oscar Moreno to enter into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman for the official listing of poor households in the province.

Vice Governor Norris Babiera said the MOA is important for the province to have access to the list of poor household priorities under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“Without this MOA, we would have a hard time determining the exact number of genuine and qualified beneficiaries,” Babiera said.

He said it will also enable the Provincial Government to access the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction Database (NHTS-PR) to identify who and where the poor are.

Related to this, the Provincial Board also passed a resolution authored by Board Member Benedict Lagbas requesting Soliman through the regional director of DSWD-Northern Mindanao to re-assess and re-evaluate the beneficiaries of the 4Ps because of non-inclusion of qualified indigent citizens into the program.

Robredo to grace IPs, LGUs meet in Cagayan de Oro
by Apipa Bagumbaran

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental, Nov. 20 (PIA) -- Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo will again visit this city to grace the opening program of the working assembly of 80 representatives composed of indigenous peoples (IPs) and seven (7) participating local government units (LGUs) throughout the country.

The assembly which aims to establish a working relationship between IPs and LGUs to mainstream and integrate ecological governance in development planning at the LGU levels will be held on November 21 at the Garden of Malasag, this city.

It also seeks for the implementation of the mandatory representation of IPs in policy-making bodies and other local legislative councils pursuant to Republic Act No. 8371 or the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997 and with the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2010-119.

Largest solar power plant erected in CDO
http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=749456&publicationSubCategoryId=111

By Ric Obendecio (The Freeman) Updated November 18, 2011 12:00 AM Comments (0)

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Experts never stop looking for what they consider as alternative sources of electric power supply that are sustainable and, most of all, renewable and environment-friendly considering the sky-rocketing of prices fossil-based fuel feared to be exhausted in near future.

One of these salient sources is the sun's light. Its immense energy said to be the source of all living things on earth prompted them to tap this endless source through new technology. Thus, the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company (CEPALCO) has earmarked its resources and, at the same time, tapping other sources to construct the "first in the country" and largest solar electric plant in hilly barangay Indahag of this highly-urbanized capital city of Misamis Oriental, northern Mindanao.

Salamat kaayo kaninyong tanan. Unta kini nga kahigayonan musogod paglambo sa ato usab na panaghigalaay. Ang labaw na makakagahom unta magpadayon kanunay sa iyang pagbasbas kanato sa daghan pa niyang mga grasya.

I am happy na TV sector in Cagayan de Oro is reinventing and slowly making its waves in the air. It seems karon everybody is trying to be competitive in its quest for quality public service to the people of Northern Mindanao. This is really a good indication that our city is really profitable in terms of getting a wide audience share which in return will provide them the advertisers to keep them going. All the best for ABS-CBN 2, GMA 12, TV 21, RMN TV 8 ug uban pa na nakalimot nako.

Below is a portion of the article written by Mike Banos entitled: DREAMS OF MINDANAO COMING TRUE

Please details here: http://www.bimpbc.org/adcagayan.asp

The study said Cagayan de Oro's competitiveness was enhanced by its strong economic ties such as with the Northern and Central Visayas regions, Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Corridor (CIC), and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).

Although other regional centers like Davao were also progressive, its average household income from 1994 to 1997 dropped 10%, while those of Cagayan de Oro and General Santos increased.

Another unique feature of Cagayan de Oro is the way by which its strong real estate property development is balanced by inter-regional infrastructure development such as the Laguindingan international standard airport, Mindanao International Container Port, Tubod-Tangub bridge and widening of its Iligan-Cagayan de Oro-Bukidnon Road (ICBR), the road artery which links it to key satellite areas.

With over 100 subdivisions containing 80,000 lots covering over 1,000 hectares and counting, the real estate boom in the city is likewise balanced by intercity infrastructure such as the planned construction of three additional bridges across the Cagayan river, Licoan flyover and the East and West coast public utility terminals aimed at loosening the city's tightening gridlock.

It appears that you are so defensive! are you the one who deleted the portion where Limketkai was reported to be the 16th largest mall in the world? All the malls mentioned in the report were put there based on the figures as reported. then why single out Limketkai?

That's what it appears to you. Sad to say, NO, as I haven't read the wiki. Why should I delete/edit that?

Why single out LKK? Since I haven't read the wiki about malls or something(Im not a wiki fan), I don't know the malls included in the list. LKK lang ang alam ko and IMO, the measurement is erroneous (still I don't know what is included in the measurement). For all I care if LKK is included in the largest malls rankings as long as it is true and very well supported, then I should say, the one who deleted/edited the entry is very sick, crab and insecure.

True! I totally agree with you, Bai Tonzi... Murag dako ra pud kaayo ang 320,000... Di gyud katuohan... But, still, LKK is easily the biggest commercial complex in the island... And, guess what... It's still growing... The 2 level Gateway Center is now connected to the East concourse and now serves as the direct entrance from CM Recto Avenue... The multi-level building being built at the more or less 1 hectare lot behind M&S will serve as the entrance from the Lapasan-Camaman-an road once done... Parking Lot E is said to be the next in line to be utilized... Not the biggest commercial complex in the island?!? I don't think so! HAHAHA! :okay:

LKK is not just building taller buildings but their also expanding drastically in order to compete with another national brand, ayala. they wont stop expanding because they know that this is the only way to stay on top of a stiff competition.

Happy also that GMA-7 has finally taken notice of its regional markets, especially Cagayan de Oro. If I am not mistaken, they hired somebody from the ABS CBN RNG to manage their expansion initiatives. At least, di na uwahe sa natad sa news and entertainment ang GMA in a city whose TV sets are still mostly tuned in to Channel 2...lingaw na jud kaayo ang CDO bai!

THE Cagayan de Oro River Basin Management Council (CDORBMC) approved a resolution proposing for the establishment of a fish and bird sanctuary beside Barangay Nazareth’s riverside area.

we already have "Isla de Oro", a natural habitat for that purpose. Why don't they clear ALL the squatters in that area (Isla de Oro). During the '70's, nobody lives there. There are lots of birds and plenty of fish to catch.

Why the heck they move it to Nazareth's riverside area. AS IF you can tell the birds and fish to go there. :)

Isla de Oro is already a "NATURAL" habitat.

MANILA, Nov. 24 (PNA) -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had moved back from December 2011 to January 2012 its preliminary review of the country’s aviation industry due to lack of personnel.

Aero Majestic, dispatching a twin-engine turbo-propeller YS-11, flew its maiden flight from Zamboanga to Cagayan de Oro City last September 19, 2011.
