When you start out a city with low density you plan ahead.
You put in a highway and a one way street. Will they work afer a while or will they flop?

Show off your most used subway stations, bus stations, freeways, roads, etc!

Here is one of my ground freeways. All my traffic from Rock Hill has to go on three freeways. They can not use streets or avenues. They can use mass transit though.

This shot is from when I first created it. I had to demolish all that extra stuff because I did not feel like dealing with it. :angel1: Since then it has redevloped!

I have busses and subway in all my cities. Lately I've implantet a monorail in a few cities and I'll probably do the same in most of them (I have about 25-30 cities in my region). The monorails seems to be very effective:-)

I also have a huge highway network that covers most cities. Here's the region transpotation view:

Cool network you got yourself there Rainier Meadows:okay:

What is the big difference between Monorail and elevated trains (except that the E.T. can be connected to the subway)?

monorail is faster and the tracks have tighter turning ratios......easier to weave into your grid! :)

Mikael... Monorail er ligesom en højhastighesbane. Forhøjet tog er ligesom Metroen i Ørestad :)

From what I have gotten Elevaded Rail to do they are the same with turning and other things. Monorail is just a faster mode of trasportation for your sims to use.

Rainier, in your photo above you have a T inersection of rail. You can actually make it a tighter curve.

You can make just as tight a curve for a complete insersection too. :)

I created a new city and I made like Montreal: I made a tunnel who passes below the downtown, like the Ville-Marie Tunnel in Montreal. :D

My cities tend to be smaller streets leading into a grid of avenues in my bigger cities usually the small streets are grids to but in the suburbs its not like that. I only really use mass transit in the high density areas of my city otherwise my cities are car oriented. A good highway system to use is like the one in the pic with two service roads on the side which you use one way streets go follow the flow of traffic of one side of the highway and the other.
