flyover isnt really needed for Bacolod...and were not in favor of it. What were asking now is for them to manage the traffic and everything will be fine. The roads here in Bacolod can still accomodate the growing numbers of vehicles inthe City, maybe when the time comes that its getting worst, then maybe we can venture to that alternative.

Absolutely mga Migo, based on what i've witnessed and have observed, despite the massive volume of vehicles running around Bacolod City main streets and aside from the wideness of the roads,i believe that it can have a better and smooth flow of traffic if strict road rules will be implemented to be able to discipline all the drivers.Flyovers might be needed in two or three years from now and an advance planning must be in place now kay daw indi mapunggan ang pagdamo sang mga salakyan sa Bacolod especially ang mga pangprivate:cheers:

By the way, Migs Boynegros and Suv,is it true nga ang LIMO car of Lopezes of IloIlo ara na dira kuno gadalagan sa dalanon sang Bacolod pirmi kay i saw it nakapark sa isa ka hotel in Bacolod last December.May information bala kamo parti diri?

SP to regulate plastics use by stores

An ordinance regulating the use of plastic bags and plastic cellophane as packing or bagging materials, and institutionalizing the use of biodegradable containers within Bacolod City was passed by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on first reading Wednesday.

Proposed by Councilor Greg Gasataya, the ordinance cited R.A. 9003, Section 48 (10-11) that provides that the manufacture, distribution or use of non-environmentally acceptable packaging material; and the importation of consumer products packed in non-environmentally acceptable materials, are strictly prohibited.

It said one of the waste materials clogging the waterways or strewn on streets or roads in the city are plastic materials like plastic bags and food wrappers.

It also said the use and sale of plastic as bagging material must be regulated, if not entirely prohibited, to protect the environment. A resort to the use of biodegradable bagging containers such as paper or cloth bags, woven baskets, carton boxes, among others including reusable bags except plastic sando bags, must be institutionalized, it added.

The ordinance shall cover all supermarkets, grocery stores, retail outlets or stores and other commercial stalls and manufacturers in all areas in Bacolod City .

It also said households disposing of waste material through the city's garbage collection system shall utilize paper bags, sacks or other biodegradable containers in packing their waste materials.

Otherwise, the city shall have the right to refuse collection, it added.

The ordinance also provides that violators will be meted penalties of P1,000 for the first offense; P2,000 for the second offense; P2,5000 and suspension of Business Permit for three months for the third offense; and cancellation and non-renewal of business permit for the fourth offense.*CGS

Back to back developments for WV.:banana::banana:

After the two new modern airports, WV will have another two new modern slaughterhouses.

The Iloilo city government is also expected to operate its P55-million new slaughterhouse in Brgy. Tacas, Jaro within this quarter.

After the completion of these two new abattoirs, we will now ready to export carcass or choice-cut porks and other meats anywhere in the country and even outside the country.

Biggest’ slaughterhouse in WV to open this month

ILOILO City – The multi-million class AA abattoir in Brgy. Tacas, Jaro district, purported to be Western Visayas’ biggest, is to begin operations this month.

Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Executive Director Larry Nacionales said the city government had installed three-phased electrical lines for this facility.

To ensure that it conforms to government standards, DA’s National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) will inspect the facility before operations begin.

With the abattoir's opening, Nacionales said, meat selling prices can improve and people will be able to market “pork in the box” items the DA is promoting.

DA and the city government already spent some P30 million to construct the abattoir.
Nacionales said this abattoir can be upgraded into a class AAA facility if a blast freezer is installed.

Slaughterhouse
MOA review eyed
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Councilor Alex Paglumotan yesterday said the Mayor will inspect the slaughterhouse in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City this week.

Paglumotan, chairman of the Committee on Markets and Slaughterhouse, said he and Councilor Celia Flor are also considering the review of the memorandum of agreement entered into by the city with AVM Bernardo Engineering, to see if the contractor has complied with its provisions. He said AVM Bernardo only installed their equipment in the slaughterhouse recently.

The contract for the completion and operation of the Bacolod City Slaughterhouse in Brgy. Handumanan was signed in February 2007 by Mayor Evelio Leonardia and engineer Antonio Valeriano Bernardo, representing the city and the AVM Bernardo, respectively.

Based on the MOA, AVM Bernardo, which is investing P54 million in the slaughterhouse, will complete the construction, rehabilitation and installation of equipment within 10 months but not to exceed 12 months from receipt of the notice to proceed.

It will rehabilitate the project in the nature of a Build-Operate-Transfer scheme.

The project will be operated as a double-A slaughterhouse by the private contractor who shall turn over its operation to the city after 20 years.

On the first year of operation of the slaughterhouse, the city is expected to earn P3.2 million in regulatory fees aside from the rental payment of AVM Bernardo.

For some time now, the city has been losing about P6 million a year in the operation of the present slaughterhouse in Brgy. 35, since the regulatory fees it is presently charging the meat vendors was established in 1974 yet and had never been upgraded.*CGS

yes, thats true coz flyover is built to ease out congestion. Bacolod, because of its wider streets, can still handle the number of cars passings along main streets. The only thing that the city should do right now is to be more stricter and implement the traffic rules very well, increase the amount for penalty. Not only the drivers but also the pedestrians who doesnt know the meaning of RED,YELLOW and GREEN...doesnt know where the pedestrian lane is...these people should be disciplined and be punished. :)

But then again, i am not closing my doors for Bacolod to have one, maybe soon, before we can experience the worst traffic scenario...

He also said that Teleperformance in Bacolod City has about 1,000 employees to date and is looking to expand. The Teleperformance officials met with Marañon, Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco, Board Member Emilio Yulo III, Sanggunian Committee on education chairman, and Jose Ma. Valencia, chief of staff of the governor, to discuss the joint project on improving English proficiency of students in public schools and on setting up a call center course.

Marañon said he also raised the possibility of the long-term lease by Teleperfomance of a building the provincial government is prepared to build on its property next to the Philippine National Bank along Lacson Street so the call center firm can expand to create more jobs.*CPG full story (http://www.visayandailystar.com/2007/September/25/topstory10.htm)

The BPO industry is flourishing in Bacolod because of the strong IT infrastructures already in place. But I still would dream that more IT related industries would pour in the city. Not only the BPO's. I think the old Bacolod airport site will make a perfect venue for these industries. :)

Ari na lang ah! Let's promote our festivals.

WV is now in the season of Festivals!!!

BacoLaodiat and the story of Hua Ming

By Abe Florendo

THE story of Hua Ming, also known as St. John’s Institute, the Catholic Chinese school in Bacolod City, is a story of luminous faith and bravery from that dark period of persecution of Catholic priests and missionaries following the communist takeover of Mainland China.

That story becomes even more inspiring and bittersweet as Hua Ming is poised to celebrate its 50th year as the premier educational institution for children and the youth in this city—a salute as well to the two hardworking Chinese priests, Msgr. John B. Liu and Msgr. John Su, who made it all happen and who are now in the twilight of their years.

The story is further limned by the celebration of the BacoLaodiat, the Chinese New Year in Bacolod, on Feb. 7 to 10, a street festival that reinforces the merging of Filipino and Chinese cultures—the very essence of Hua Ming.

In the ’50s, when Mao Zedong’s victorious army swooped down on China, John Liu (Liu Zi Hui), then a young seminarian from Heibei, near Beijing, and a student of the Peiping Fu Jen Catholic University, fled his country on a boat and sought sanctuary in the Philippines. John Su (Su Hueng Tai), also a seminarian from Heibei, likewise fled China on a boat and reached Philippine shores after a harrowing journey fraught with horrors of starvation and disease and deaths on board. It was a nightmare that Liu and Su, now in their eighties and bound on wheelchairs, do not want to talk about much.

Liu and several other refugee seminarians who survived the flight from China finished their studies at the St. Joseph Seminary in Manila. Liu was later assigned to the Bacolod Diocese where he organized, with Fr. James Liu (no relation), the Bacolod Chinese Youth Association, and later the Chinese St. Mary’s Association for married women, and the Chinese Catholic Action Association.

In 1955, a big conflagration razed the commercial buildings in downtown Bacolod to the ground. Not missing an opportunity, Alfredo Montelibano Sr., national defense secretary under President Sergio Osmeña, opened up a 27-hectare tract of land north of the city, part of a large sugar farm said to have been inherited from his redoubtable mother, and called it the Capitol Shopping Center, to lure the mostly Chinese businessmen and storeowners displaced by the fire. Seeing an opportunity himself, Fr. John Liu presented himself before Montelibano and convinced him to donate 4,000 square meters in Shopping (which is how locals call it today) for a convent and a chapel.

In 1959, Fr. John Liu, with the assistance of Fr. John Su, established Hua Ming. In this school, finally, the kindergarten and grade school students who were holding classes at the market stalls in Shopping, had a decent place for their studies. Five years later the Queen of Peace Church was constructed (at the then phenomenal cost of P550,000), and became an architectural landmark in Sugarlandia. The Queen of Peace also became a center of integration.

The school and the parish today serve not only those of Chinese ancestry, but everyone from all walks of life, and there are more of them now than the strictly Tsinoys. However, the Chinese language is still an important and compulsory part of the curriculum of Hua Ming; a student from kinder 1 to fourth year who fails the course cannot be promoted.

Hua Ming (now better known as St. John’s Institute) will welcome the Chinese New Year, the BacoLaodiat, with great enthusiasm. BacoLaodiat will be held at the Capitol Shopping Center, right in the neighborhood of Hua Ming, from Feb. 7 to 10. It will feature a tour of Chinese temples (there are three splendid ones in Bacolod), a tiangge-style Chopsticks Alley, a Tsinoy Olympics, a street-dancing competition including the parade of lanterns and the 12 Chinese horoscope animals, a Chinese cookfest at Robinsons Galleria, a business conference, and a city-wide simultaneous fireworks show.

Most certainly, Msgr. Liu and Msgr. Su, calm and wise and full of memories, shall be watching these joyful festivities from their windows, their hearts passionately on fire for their host country and their minds keenly nostalgic for China.

Negros now open to world,
endless opportunities: Noli
BY CARLA GOMEZ
;

SILAY CITY – The P5.6 billion New Bacolod Silay Airport that has opened up Negros Island to the rest of the world will bring in endless growth opportunities for Negros Island , Vice President Noli de Castro said yesterday.

De Castro led the inauguration of the new alternate international airport here yesterday afternoon also attended by Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza, and Japanese and Negrense officials.

The 72-year-old Bacolod airport was closed down Thursday evening after the last flight out.

“The endless opportunities that this new and modern airport could bring to Silay City and to Negros Island does not mean that Silay's gain is Bacolod 's lost,” de Castro said.

The world class airport will allow both cities to move on, he said, because “now Bacolod can concentrate on its competitive edge in commerce, business and the service sector.”

“Being a highly urbanized city Bacolod has a great potential to develop central business districts and commercial mix-use areas,” he said.

The site of the Bacolod City airport given its location and developments in its immediate surroundings can be transformed into a business district, the vice president said.

This is the same tack Iloilo City took when its old airport was closed down to give way to a new one in Cabatuan town, he pointed out.

Megaworld has purchased the old Iloilo airport site for development into residential and commercial areas, he said.

“When one door closes another opens, but only if one uses this saying in a practical and prudent way,” de Castro said.

The new airport in Silay City will bring economic development not only to Negros Island but the rest of Central Visayas , he said.

NEW ROAD

De Castro said work on the extension of the new airport runway by 500 meters to accommodate larger aircraft from the United States and Europe will begin in the second quarter of this year.

In fact with its current 2,000 meter runway it can already accommodate a 300-seater Airbus A-330, Mendoza said.

Aircraft of that size from around the world can already land at the Silay airport now, Mendoza said.

De Castro said Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella, chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, has also informed him that work on a 10-kilometer road that will connect the Bacolod circumferential road to the new airport will begin this year.

This will reduce travel time from Bacolod to the new airport to 15 minutes, de Castro said.

‘GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE'

Acting Negros Occidental Gov. Isidro Zayco appealed to all to give the new airport the full support that it needs so that it can operate at its maximum potential.

The operations of the new airport will directly benefit Negros Occidental as it would encourage more tourists and investors to the province, he said.

Zayco said he echoes the appeal of the airport officials to give change a chance. “This is a change, no doubt for the better,” he said.

A NEW ‘TOWN'

Silay Mayor Jose Montelibano said with the new airport the world finally comes to within reach of Negros .

It will also change the landscape of the vicinity around the airport from sugar farms to industrial economic zones. We will see technology-based industries that will create jobs for thousands of Negrenses, he said.

A new town or center of business and development for Silay City will be built around the new airport since the old historical structures in the city proper cannot be demolished, Montelibano said.

Congressmen present at the inauguration rites were Nergos Occidental Representatives Julio Ledesma IV (1 st District), Alfredo Marañon III (2 nd District) Jose Carlos Lacson (3 rd District), and Jeffrey Ferrer (4 th District), Puentevella ( Bacolod ) and Mikey Arroyo (Pampanga, 2 nd District).

BEST LIVELIHOOD

The new airport is the best livelihood project for the third district and the province of Negros Occdental , Lacson said.

Puentevella, Marañon III and Ferrer also all said the new airport would be a boost the economic growth of Negros Occidental.

Sugar Regulatory Administrator Rafael Coscolluela, former Negros Occidental governor, said “After all the sentimentalism is done and finished I hope people will realize that a new airport of international standards will ultimately be beneficial to Negros Occidental, Bacolod City and Western Visayas .”

Coscolluela said he understands some people feel it is inconvenient to have to go all the way to Silay to get to the airport but many of us who travel to Manila are used to going to the airport there three hours ahead of our flights.

“It is a matter making adjustments, let's think about the long term. This will be beneficial to all of us in the long term, this opens up the door for international flights, which would never ever have happened if we retained the Bacolod airport only,” he said.

The new airport was built on a loan by the Philippine government from the Japan Bank of International Cooperation that was represented yesterday by Hiroshio Togo . Also present was Minister Eiichi Oshima of the Embassy of Japan.

Oshima said with the new airport in Silay, gives Negros Occidental a new basis for future growth.

He pointed out that Negros Occidental is the fifth biggest domestic airport in terms of passengers in the Philippines , which have increased by 50 percent in the last 10 years.

The province needed a bigger and more efficient airport to meet its growing demand, and the new one in Silay will boost economic activity and quality of life for Negrenses, Oshima said.

Meanwhile, an SM City Bacolod airport shuttle located at its south transport terminal departs for the new airport at 4 a.m., 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a fee of P100 per passenger.*CPG

Negros now open to world, endless opportunities: Noli
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Good afternoon, Bacolod!

Yes, Sipalay is indeed beautiful. I miss going there.. We've been there twice and tried two different resorts..one was Nataasan, its on a hill near artistic diving and then the other one is Langub, on the Sugar Beach, only you have to ride a bangka going there. Amazing sunsets gd ya :) And most of the resorts on sugar beach are foreign-owned.

VP de CASTRO Says: NEW AIRPORT, NEW HOPE
A Moving Spirit for Bacolod, Silay
By Carla N. Cañet

Vice President Noli de Castro said that the new Bacolod-Silay airport is a moving on for both the cities of Bacolod and Silay in terms of economic gains.
He does not believe that the new airport will only be for the gains of Silay and a loss for Bacolod.

“No. No. No. Not at all. Bacolod and Silay will both gain,” he said.

Bacolod, being a higly urbanized city has a potential to develop business districts because it has competitive edge.

Vice President de Castro said Negrenses should take pride in having this modern airport. This is a promise that has turned into a reality. President Arroyo included the development of more modern airports as part of her Super Regions program.

He congratulated the Negrenses for having the only airport which will soon cater to international flights.

The new airport has eight commercial flights daily provided by three airlines - Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Phils.

This is a product of the continuing effort of the Department of Transportation and Communication to rationalize the transportation from air, land and sea.

The airport could bring more economic growth and will turn this province into a major destination.

Vice President de Castro and Presidential son 2nd District of Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo led in the inauguration along with DOTC Sec. i think the one reason that this could push through because there is a one negrenses here last week nga napatay...nag-follow-up lang siya sang iya mga documents tapos gulpi lang kuno natumba,,,dayon gindala sa st pauls hospital patay na gid...na stroke daw siya

thats why naghot ang balita that bacolod is need to put-up the sub-regional offices on any sector unit

The symbolic signing of MOA between USLS and CIDA for the PEARL Project Phase 2 yesterday

^^^^Anyone knew about this?

The PEARL2 Project

The Private Enterprise Accelerated Resource Linkages Project Phase 2 (Pearl2) is a Private Sector Development project of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The Pearl2 Project works directly with Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and Investment Promotion Centers (IPCs) to support the development of Small and Medium Enterprises that create meaningful jobs for both men and women. The Project’s goal is to contribute to reduction of poverty in the Philippines through equitable and sustainable development.

The CIDA implements the PEARL2 Project through a Canadian Executing Agency (CEA). The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) was the first CEA of PEARL2. However, with the withdrawal of BCIT in January 2006, CIDA commissioned the Agriteam Canada in February 2006 as the new CEA. The Project is supposed to operate only for five years (2002-2007) but it received a 1-year extension with additional funding of CD 1 Million.

The Pearl2 Project corresponds directly with the National SME Development Plan, complements SME Unified Lending Opportunities for National Growth (SULONG) initiative promoted by DTI/Small Business Guarantee and Finance Corp. (SBGFC), supports enterprise development initiatives, creates an enabling environment for employment generation, and contributes to increasing trade and investment flows both domestically and internationally.

Pearl2 has four main components: Sectoral Enhancement (SE), Partnership Development Facility (PDF) and Capacity Development of Investment Promotion (CDIP) and Dissemination and Sustainability (DS).

SE is focused on providing support to 5 of the 10 “revenue streams” in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Strategy (furniture, food processing, wearables, natural and organic products and gifts and housewares). The support includes training, market and export enhancement, policy studies and advocacy.
CDIP is focused on strengthening the capability of Investment Promotion Centers (IPCs) to promote investment and facilitate strategic linkages between the Philippine SMEs and firms/ groups outside the Philippines.
PDF is a responsive funding mechanism designed to contribute to projects of eligible BSOs in their efforts to promote SME development and job creation.
Dissemination and Sustainability is focused on ensuring project results are institutionalized and sustained beyond the life of the Project.

Funding for the PEARL2 Project is provided by the Canadian International Development Agency

PEARL2 and the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) jointly conducted a three-day Board of Directors (BOD) workshop for the officers of PHILEXPORT National and its various Provincial Chapters on Nov. 21-23, 2007 at the Aloha Hotel, Manila.

Present during the opening ceremonies were PEARL2’s Project Director Ed Sutherland and top officials of PHILEXPORT namely: Mr. Sergio Luis-Ortiz, Jr., President; Atty. Aniano Bagabaldo, EVP & COO; and Ms. Leonor D. Abella, Vice President for Promotions.

The workshop for BOD is one of the Pearl2 Programs designed to strengthen the capabilities of business support organizations (BSOs). PHILEXPORT was identified as an organization which can utilize and take advantage of the Program as a means to retool and capacitate their officers.

A total of 26 PHILEXPORT officers participated in the said 3-day workshop. Mr. Rene Paquibut facilitated the workshops on the “Role and Functions of BSO Board Members” and “Project Management for BSO Board Members” while Mr. Rhodelio Campilan facilitated the “Workshop on Financial Oversight for BOD”. Experts from the University of the Philippines Institute of Small-Scale Industries (UP-ISSI) and University of St. La Salle-Bacolod (USLSB) were also invited as observers to give them a first hand view on how the BOD workshop in the context of a BSO is carried out. The two academic institutions will handle some of the training programs of PEARL2 in the future.

Precisely @Jaywalker. Having a stable block of SME's is an indication of a strong economy. To further strengthen it with such programs as mentioned in the above post, will surely create ripples of success. This and all other new/old industries will bring Bacolod's economy to greater heights.:)

This is what get on the failures of our Government in addressing on how to improve thier services to the common people.Somethings bad must happen first before they make actions and it's not new to me anymore.

Maybe we could have those sub-offices in the New City Hall and we must have because the way i see Bacolod is city which is very much comparable to some Regional Cities in the country today.

Araneta Group of Companies

Progressive Development Corporation

PDC (Progressive Development Corporation) manages investments and property assets of the Araneta Group outside those of the 3 other strategic business units: Araneta Center; Philippines Pizza Inc.; and Uniprom. PDC is also the incubator and nurturing entity for new business.

Major properties within the urban metro are in San Mateo and Rodriguez.

The San Mateo property is 510 hectares 45 minutes drive to the east from the Araneta Center accessible via the Batasan Road or Marcos Highway. The property has undulating terrain with mildy rolling hills and is ideal for mixed-use community development.

The Rodriquez property is 1,640 hectares an hour’s drive to the northeast from the Araneta Center with the Wawa Dam at its southern tip. Its topography is a mixture of stiff to moderate undulating terrain. While ideal for housing and light industrial use, the property is also rich in natural resources such as aggregates, marble and limestone.

Major properties in Negros are within urban Bacolod and less than an hour’s drive from the new International Airport in Silay City due to open in Q4 of 2007.

The former Bacolod Murcia Millsite property is 34 hectares right at the heart of Bacolod City at the corner of Burgos Street and the Circumferential Road. The property is primarily viewed by the Araneta Group as the future Araneta Center of the South.

The former Talisay Silay Millsite property is 24 hectares 15 minutes drive to the north from the Bacolod Airport. It is adjacent to large high-end subdivision developments: Ayala Northpoint and Town and Country.

The Magsungay property is 35 hectares situated between the Bacolod Airport and the newly built SM Mall. The property has an opening to the sea at it southwest portion.

Other investments under PDC include holdings in Atok Big-Wedge, a listed holding company; investments in Wenphil and Philippine Seven, local franchisees of world renowned brands Wendy’s and 7-Eleven respectively; Manila Peninsula, and Makati Medical Center.

Wow.. so the Aranetas have a massive property reserves in Bacolod. The smell of developments are just around the corner. We might just get stunned and caught unaware that an Araneta development will soon commence in the city. When they start? May it be in the next 5 years or sooner, I would say that i'm happy that the stories from the grapevine were actually TRUE. Great!:)

i have a story to share.....

before going to NBSA last thursday, i went to GTECH(multimedia expert in Bacolod) to get a copy of some pics of the wedding i attended. Before going out of the Car, i never realized that my camera was on my lap, there i go talking over the phone and went out of the car with out any knowledge that my camera fell off. I went inside Gtech and after a few minutes, i went out...went back inside the car and we left the place going to NBSA, while we were driving along Lacson, i saw a Cherokee and decided to take some pics of it...then i got shocked when i noticed that my camera was gone...so we went back to Gtech and asked them if they have seen my camera...i was really on a panic state. i was running and checking every possible area. i saw somebody selling basahan nearby and i noticed that he knew about whats going with me so i approached him and i asked him if he saw my camera...and he told me to check inside the resto and asked somebody there coz he saw somebody picked up something on the street but he is not sure if its my camera...i went inside the resto and i asked the people if they found my camera and the lady seated in the middle asked me.." whats the brand name of your camera?"..i told her the specs and i even told her that about the memory card inside the camera..she then took the camera out of her bag and she openned it,,checked my pictures and good thing i have a face pic saved in my camera...she then gave it back to me and told me to be careful next time and i was lucky that it was not crashed by the vehicles passing by. I said thank you to them several times and i gave the man who pointed me to the right direction a tip. I just thanked God for guiding me and for the angels i met along the way :)...

^^Well of course migs,it's in thier rules and regulation that if someone has to build thier house, they have reach a certain amount like in Ayala Northpoint mostly i think a minimum of P5 million just for the house and another thing is they have to check the design plus the structural composition of the house.

It's a first class residential property, doc.that is why. and they Ayala North has a good market value compared to that of Sta. Lucia's Manville Royale.Actually most of the houses inside Manville are also mostly huge and well designed. Some have bought two adjacent lots and turned it into a mansion type kaso it's not as neat as Ayala ang Manville.

amo gid man na ang ayala mag develop. :) amo na were lucky to have ayala around in our province. :) ang ayala naga invest lang salugar na makita nila feasible kag maka afford and Negrense proved to them na ist worth investing :)

And because of that they are looking for another massive hectares of land for thier next investment in the province.Let's keep an eye on this one:cheers:

thats the problem here, you need to have proofs in posting...sometimes we need to listen about what others are saying and take it halfway,, if they will push through, then good...if not, lets not make fun of it.

I remember Xavier saying about the Traffic Lights and the proposed LRT...he was misconstrued with all the things he said,, but look what happened, everything came out exactly the way he said it. the Traffic lights is exactly the same as what he described before and the LRT thing was published in one of the brochures made by Silay and one thing, other people really laughed about this...the cathay pacific thing...look at now, they already set to open a ticketing office here...

Juday endorses Bacolod Chicken Inasal
http://www.philstar.com/newphilstar/www/image/20080121/ent2.jpg

As Pinoy as chicken inasal
DIRECTLINE By Boy Abunda
Monday, January 21, 2008

We fell in love with Ysabella, the top-rating soap opera aired on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida, not just because of the brilliant performances of its lead actors, especially that of award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos whose striking similarity to the lead character Ysabella is unmistakable, but also because of the chicken recipe that got us all craving for it the moment it had its primetime debut.

Real-life kitchen queen Juday played the title role so convincingly that it has become hard to separate the actor from the character. No other actress can give justice to the role of a young woman destined for culinary greatness other than Juday, whose first-rate acting chops can only be upstaged by her culinary expertise.

Similarly, no other chicken dish can rival Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s grilled wonder called Chicken Inasal, a delicious chicken recipe marinated in local herbs and spices, skewered on bamboo sticks then grilled to juicy perfection, other than the Ysabella Chicken, which became an instant hit in all the branches of the fast-growing restaurant chain.

Chicken Inasal, a native Filipino barbecue that originated from Bacolod City, is so popular there that there are street stands selling the chicken barbecue in almost every corner. It invaded Metro Manila in 1993 when the sisters and brother team of Rose, Bing and JM Tanalgo opened Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s first take-out and delivery counter in EDSA Central. It is now a favorite among the metro’s mall-crazy crowd.

Ysabella Chicken, on the other hand, is a very Pinoy take on the grilled chicken that also transcends regional borders. The secret recipe, which a culinary whiz from ABS-CBN developed, is very interesting because the carefully selected ingredients come from everywhere in the Philippines.

To give you an idea just how Ysabella Chicken tastes, just imagine the burst of flavors when you mix the finest garlic from Ilocos and the most mouth-watering Bagoong Balayan (shrimp paste) from Batangas (the other ingredients won’t be revealed since they are well-guarded secret) in one chicken dish. The result is a gastronomic delight.

The tie-up between ABS-CBN and Bacolod Chicken Inasal for the show proved to be phenomenal. “Weeks after Ysabella Chicken was aired on ABS-CBN, we had an unexpected increase in sales,” said Rose Tanalgo-Meim, Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s VP for marketing. “The exposure in the show provided that much-needed push for us.”

Although the soap opera bade farewell to its followers last week, the partnership between Bacolod Chicken Inasal and the superstar of the new generation is not about to end. Bacolod Chicken Inasal has actually tapped Juday to be its endorser to jumpstart the 2008 campaign for its flourishing business.

“The overwhelming increase in our sales because of our exposure in Judy Ann’s soap opera prompted us to get her as the endorser of our restaurant,” shared Tanalgo-Meim. “Judy Ann also represents values that are similar to our company’s like humility, simplicity and Filipino-ness. She also loves to cook that’s why she is the perfect endorser for us.”

Juday is grateful that Bacolod Chicken Inasal trusted her to become its endorser. Juday also shared that the restaurant is perfect for her healthy lifestyle.

“I eat a lot of chicken, especially if it’s grilled para healthy,” Juday said. “Kumakain ako ng inasal from Bacolod Chicken Inasal kaya in-endorse ko ito. Hindi naman ako pwedeng mag-endorse ng isang lugar kung hindi ko pinupuntahan.”

Juday has found the perfect Chicken Inasal at Bacolod Chicken Inasal because according to her its grilled chicken is juicy and delicious. “Hindi siya mapait,” she added. “Tama lang ang lasa. When you order, pwede mo pang pa-adjust ‘yung lasa.”

Bacolod Chicken Inasal is also getting ready to conquer the world. “A big group from Dubai invited us to open branches there,” said Tanalgo-Meim. “We are now in the process of restructuring to accommodate them.”

In the future, the dynamic group of siblings from Bacolod would like to introduce healthy dishes and more recipes from the south. Of course, Juday will play a big part in Bacolod Chicken Inasal’s future because Tanalgo-Meim believes that the actress has what it takes to propel the company to greater heights.

And here’s more good news: Ysabella Chicken that you’ve grown to love will still be available even after the soap.

Area Development Agreement (ADA)

We are actively looking for motivated, qualified business people/entrepreneurs to develop specific areas or regions of the country in geography-based, multi-store franchise agreements. Typically, ADA's will require at least a three (3) store build-out in the specified area. ADA packages also normally include the set-up and operation of fully functional production centers that will service the needs of other Go Nuts Donuts stores in the area.

The priority areas for ADA's are as follows:

South Luzon (Batangas area)
Bacolod
Iloilo
Davao
Cagayan
North Luzon (Baguio)

Owning a Go Nuts Donuts ADA franchise is an exciting opportunity. Our focus is to recruit interested individuals who have significant business experience and have a proven track record in successfully managing multi-store retail businesses and who have significant financial resources behind them.

The Cebu and Pampanga franchisees are examples of Go Nuts Donuts ADA packages.
