Cadiz City opens
FITS center
Cadiz City recently opened its Farmers' Information and Technology Services Center , or Techno Pinoy, at the City Agriculture Office compound, a press release from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist said.
It also held an information caravan on various agricultural technologies at the city gymnasium.
Officials of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development, Western Visayas Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium led by Dr. Ma. Luisa Mabunay, and city officials led by Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. attended the FITS opening, the press release said.
Seven prospective Magsasaka-Siyentista were presented by Anna Mae Relingo, regional Techno Gabay coordinator. Magsasaka Siyentista is composed of outstanding farmers who demonstrate successful application of science and technology-based and indigenous technologies.
Escalante and officials of PCARRD and WESVARRDEC signed a Memorandum of Agreement on the establishment of FITS Cadiz , the second in Negros Occidental and the 25th in Western Visayas , the press release said.
The first FITS in Negros Occidental is based at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist in Bacolod City .
FITS or Techno Pinoy is an information and technology delivery service facility conceptualized by PCARRD, coordinated by WESVARRDEC and other consortia, and implemented by local government units and other institutions to improve access of farmers, traders, processors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to information and technologies in agriculture, forestry, and natural resources.
FITS, through the Regional Applied Communication Office, provides IEC materials in different formats such as print, audio-visual, broadcast, and e-based media, the press release added.*

another good news for all Bacoleños........
Tipon beats Jordanian
BY NIDA BUENAFE
Bacoleño Joan Tipon lifted the spirit of the Philippine contingent in the Asian Olympic Boxing Qualifyng tournament Saturday in Bangkok , Thailand with a win in the bantamweight division against Jordanian Ebraheem Algharageer.
The judges scored the match 13-2 in favor of the 25-year-old boxer from Bacolod City who redeemed himself in the eyes of his followers after a humbling loss in the World Championship bout in Chicago last year against Worapoj Petchkoom of Thailand .
Tipon, who found himself in the limelight of Philippine boxing with a golden finish in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha , Qatar , will have the chance to settle the score against Petchkoom and advance his Olympic bid should he prevail in his second fight against Pakistan 's Ali Mukamamad.
His splendid performance against Algharageer earned a compliment from RP coach Pat Gaspi who said during the post-game interview that the Bacolod boxer executed the plan well.
Tipon's conquest of his Jordanian foe lightened the mood at the RP boxing camp which saw its campaign for slots in the Beijing Olympics slowly disintegrating with the defeats of Violito Payla against Anwar Yunusov of Tajikistan and Olando Tacuyan Jr. against Galiv Jafarov of Kazakhstan .
Payla bowed to Yunusov in a frustrating match that ended at 30-10 while Tacuyan failed to sustain an early lead and succumbed to a 25-18 decision.

Solon Assures NSCA to Become a University Soon
6th District Congressman Genaro “Lim-ao” Alvarez has assured the Negros State College of Agriculture (NSCA) it will soon become the Central Philippine State University (CPSU).
Alvarez, father of the Cityhood of Kabankalan and Sipalay, said before December this year, he will make sure that the upgrading of the School will pass in Congress. He made the assurance during the blessing and inauguration yesterday of the newly built swimming pool, pavilion and Product Center which were jointly financed by the school and his office.
NSCA now has branches all over the 6th district in Sipalay, Cauayan, Candoni and Hinoba-an, Ilog and Moises Padilla. Freddie Maningo, President of NSCA disclosed that Hinoba-an mayor Teresita Bilbao already approved the P1.8 million fund for personnel services of the Hinoba-an NSCA campus that will be re-opened this coming school year. He said he has already completed papers and requirements for the first and only state college of agriculture in Negros island to become a university. The School would need about P100 million yearly budget once it becomes a university. At present, it operates on a P32 million budget. Aside from Agricultural courses, the school now offers Masteral and Doctoral Degrees and Engineering courses.
Alvarez said all over the province, the 6th District is privileged to have a college in almost every town and city. He conceptualized the idea of putting up these colleges after a survey came out that out of 100 youths, less than 3 percent have reached college. Alvarez also has hundreds of scholars in different campuses of NSCA. Aside from the swimming pool, Alvarez said a hotel will also rise soon in the school campus for the opening of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Course that will also be offered by the school.*

School principal Grace Abao said the library is frequented by students for its wide selection of reading and reference materials, and well-ventilated and adequate space which makes it conducive for learning. The approachability and competence of the librarian was also a big factor, the press release said.

I wish it will be a higher building too, than of Sanparq. Many new buildings in Bacolod uses cladding instead of paint which could easily fade because of the weather.
Actually there are plenty of beautifully designed buildings in Bacolod except for that messy wires of PLDT and Ceneco which ruins their easthetic value.

MOA signed to improve health of hacienda kids
Bacolod City (28 January) -- The Provincial Health Office (PHO), Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. (SIFI) and the Helen Keller International (HKI) recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to help children and their communities attain better health and lifestyles.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Luisa Efren, SIFI President and Chief Operating Officer Edith Villanueva and Helen Keller Country Director Ellen Villate signed the MOA on "Improving Child Care and Community Wellness Among Families of Sugar Cane Workers in Selected Communities in Negros Occ., " at the Grand Regal Hotel last January 24.
Kraft Cares, the funding agency, was represented by its Manager on Corporate and Government Affairs Raymund Soberano. He said the project is the concern of everyone as he urged stakeholders to "hold hands" to ensure its success.
The project will be implemented in hacienda Sibukaw Diutay and Siason in Brgy. Sibukaw, San Enrique and Hacienda US Farm in Brgy. Ayungon, Valladolid involving 150 kids, HKI Juvy Zafra project coordinator told PIA.
The project aims to contribute to increase child survival by improving community health and nutrition practices towards healthy lifestyle and improving child development services.
The package of the core interventions includes health and nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, immunization of children and mothers, vitamin A supplementation and growth monitoring and promotion.
In her message, Villate said she hopes that the three haciendas will be a model for a possible replication of the project in other poor communities of the province. "We are here to empower communities as partners," she added.
Former Congresswoman Edith Villanueva thanked Kraft Cares for the project that also seeks to strengthen the knowledge of Barangay Health Workers, the people and if possible build a nutrition post where health personnel and parents can bring their children for weighing and immunization.
Mayor Rommel Yugore of Valladolid and Mayor Jilson Tubillara of San Enrique both expressed their gratitude to the people behind the project and wished that the activity will improve the lives of their constituents, especially the children.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Luisa Efren said malnutrition is a global problem that entails huge capital, time and the combined efforts of everyone for it to be solved. (PIA-LOL)

Bacolod City gov’t moves to solve traffic congestion
By RANIE S. AZUE
BACOLOD City – The city government is taking several steps to solve the traffic congestion here. According to Councilor Wilson “Jun” Gamboa, there will be a “division of labor” in the monitoring of the streets. Traffic will be manned by the personnel of the province and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and city government personnel will take over the job from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Trucks plying the streets of the city will be strictly monitored. A truck ban will be enforced from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Earlier, Mayor Evelio Leonardia tasked Gamboa to hold a dialogue with truckers and hauler associations.
Gamboa is the chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Traffic Management of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Trucks hauling sugarcane is also a problem. It was recently agreed that roads here will be rehabilitated to make them withstand heavy load.
The PHHC Bridge is expected to be functional in 50 days. The Victorias Milling Company is overseeing the works. The plans and specifications have the approval of the DPWH.
New routes for trucks and haulers have been agreed too: from the Circumferential Road (Lopue’s East), they must turn left to Burgos St., turn right to Lopez-Jaena St, turn left to B.S. Aquino Drive, then turn right to Lacson Street.
Meanwhile Norman Saril, chief of LTO-Bacolod, said trucks hauling sugarcane must have covers to prevent their haul from spilling on the roads.
He also said their cargoes should not be more that 14 feet protruding from their backs.

Talks on for
Air Force site in Silay
BY GILBERT BAYORAN
Exploratory talks are now underway for the acquisition of a four-hectare lot to be used by the Philippine Air Force in the vicinity of the new Bacolod-Silay airport in Silay City .
AFP Central Command chief Lt. Gen. Victor Ibrado yesterday met with Acting Gov. Isidro Zayco and Mayor Jose Montelibano on plans to transfer the PAF Tactical Operations Command 6 at the Mandurriao Airport in Iloilo to Silay.
Ibrado said they have discussed the price of the property to be purchased, mechanics of the acquisition and requirements needed from the Air Force, to pave the way for the establishment of military facilities and parking area for helicopter gunships and C-130 cargo planes.
Zayco said the provincial government will provide a counterpart for the purchase of the lot, that costs is P12 million, while the Silay city government also pledged to help.
TOC 6 supervises the operations of military aircrafts in Western Visayas .
Ibrado said the transfer of TOC 6 headquarters from Iloilo to Negros Occidental will boost the security of the airport in Silay.
The Silay airport is presently secured by the Philippine Army and 6 th Regional Mobile Group troopers, following the rebels attack on it in October last year.
Ibrado said the TOC 6 has a K-9 and Explosives Ordnance Units, and Air Force personnel, which will compliment the security of the airport in Silay.*GPB

the montelibanos really are great leaders, bacolod owes a lot to them, particularly since bacolod's grid design was a part of alfredo montelibano's vision, and we're still using it today, mayor leonardia was mentored by mayor montelibano..maybe bacolod should elect another one to the office after mayor leonardia's term is over...

If The US have Franklin Roosevelt & George Washington, UK's Winston Churchill, France's Bonaparte, The Osmenas(still active) in Cebu, .. then I can say that the Montelibano's of Negros are our province' contribution to great leaders and visionaries. Its just so sad that the person he mentored in politics(even the "bridge" for his now wife), turned his back and resorted to an array of political mudslinging. Just to reach his so called "political ambitions". Too bad Bing just cant resist the temptations and situations like that in politics. The dirty side of politics, that is. :ohno:

I remember the master development plan of Paglaum sports complex, only former gov. montelibano was againts the conversion. hopefully the present govt, will agree the conversion the paglaum into commercial center.
this time, they will, actually Panaad is enough for us here in Negros. :) kalapad sang panaad ta kag kanami pa. :) Paglaum is just a dying infrastructure...they need to rehabilitate it or...they will convert it. i think Gov want it to be converted into a commercial zone...teh kundi nami naman e. :)
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/32/66462267_91308b9561.jpg?v=o
Pro daw kanugon man no? Hehe!
GOOD PM MIGS!
I agree with you migs ... the Paglaum sports complex is dying ... wala gid mayo ginausar sang city/province ... so its really better to maximize its use ... its nice that they're planning to convert it into a commercial area ... it has a big potential since it is located within the city... kag may access pa xa lacson... i hope they'll finaliza this plan and make a formal announcement to the public ... Im sure many big firms will bid for this area .... This proposal is very promising!
nways.. nabalik na gid man sang city ang rights to the provincial govt?
I hope they wont convert Paglaum into a commercial area....just renovate it extensively, change the wooden areas to concrete, revive the swimming pool and grandstand, and yes, remove those old tenants of stores around. We might host another SEA Games or maybe pati Asian Games. Its better we have 2 stadiums para di mag ginutok sa isa lang ka lugar. Its a sense of our pride pa as the premiere sports city of the country with two internationally competent stadiums
i agree to convert it into a commercial area to make it a better Libertad one of the Bacolod's business hub district,,,or rather renovate it and to make a city coliseum/indoor arena...kay sa USLS lang permi ang gina venue ang mga convention kag mga cultural activities
is the new government center really needed? or will it just serve as an eyecandy? i really think the money should be more need for housing of the squatters people specially in the dawis area, mambulok area and gaisano bridge area these areas are an eyesore in the path of progress and modernization.
bacolod city needs a wider government center and compared to its sister cities in negros, daw na ulihi na kita gani.
i think bacolod is really needed it now...look at the other cities within the province,,,they have already their own new city halls and bacolod is the capital city why not to buid it their own...not only we called it a city hall but a government center...tan-awa subong ang present city hall sang bacolod watak-watak pa ang ila mga departmento ang iban ara sa plaza mart mall...the housing is another project on focusing and etc

Bacolod golfer tops Country Club tourney
By Henry Villalva
SCOOP awardee Juvic Pagunsan displayed rock-solid composure last Sunday to dominate and top the rich The Country Club invitational tournament in Canlubang, Laguna.
Confirming his status as one of the country's top professional golfers, the former amateur standout turned a one-under-par 69 behind another swashbuckling performance to pocket another P1.3 million after just four days of work.
As predicted, the 29-year-ld Pagunsan, a former caddie at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Binitin, Murcia, Negros Occidental topped the competition as no one from his flightmates including deposed champion Angelo Que and uncle Rey Pagunsan managed to mount any serious challenge.
The elder Pagunsan was quoted as telling covering mediamen, "Juvic's 15-foot birdie putt on the hazard-laden first hole got him going and set the tone for his stirring wire-to-wire win."
The Country Club Invitational is a tournament held in honor of golf patron Don Pocholo Razon.
No less than Que, himself, who eventually settled for the runner-up prize of P677, 710, described Pagunsan's victory as "brilliant."
Pagunsan, who won the same amount two years ago during the same year turned pro, offered quite an explanation to covering mediamen as to how he tallied a 10-under-par 270- the lowest four-day total in six years- to win the event by 9 strokes over Que- also considered as the higest winning margin so far. "I stayed focused from the very start that's why I was able to hold on and win it again," the Negrense said.

http://bacolodcity.gov.ph/conten2j.jpg
"Mother of all Festivals"
The biggest festival of them all in Negros Occidental, the PANAAD FESTIVAL, started in 1993 as a thanksgiving celebration and a fulfillment of a promise and vow to the Divine Providence in exchange of good life.
It features 32 festivals that brings together 13 cities and 19 towns of Negros Occidental. In theme booths that showcase their history, culture, trade, agriculture, tourism and other industries.

April 2008 - EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
http://bacolodcity.gov.ph/conten2mm.jpg
With Earth Day slated on the 22nd of April, every environment-conscious organizations and individuals are doing their share in Natures conservation.
June 12, 2008 - INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
http://bacolodcity.gov.ph/conten2k.jpg
Eight years and a century ago, from his balcony in Kawit Cavite, the great General Emilio Aguinaldo lowered the American flag and raised the symbol of a new and independent nation called the Republic of the Philippines.
Since then Bacolod City celebrates that important day as Filipinos. Between that fateful day and now, a lot has transpired many battles have been fought and won; many conflicts have been resolved in order to preserved that freedom which our heroes, like Dr. Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Marcelo Del Pilar, Emilio Aguinaldo and the rest, fought for, in their own respective ways.
Bacolod City commemorates Independence Day Program, floral offering at the tomb of the unknown soldier who symbolizes the many nameless faces who braved the volley of fires of World War II and a Civic Military Parade in the afternoon.
October 19, 2008 - BACOLOD CITY CHARTER DAY CELEBRATION
http://bacolodcity.gov.ph/conten2l.jpg
The Municipality of Bacolod was made into a City effective October 19, 1938 by virtue of Commonwealth Act. No. 326. The event was spectacular considering the fact that no less than Hon. Manuel L. Quizon, President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines himself graced the occasion when Hon. Alfredo M. Montelibano, Sr. took his Oath of Office as the first City Mayor.
The Celebration kicks off with a mass, Charter Day Program in the morning and a Charter Day Parade in the afternoon.
October 1-21, 2008 - MASSKARA FESTIVAL
http://bacolodcity.gov.ph/conten2m.jpg
Bacolod City never seems to lose its luster, especially when MassKara celebration comes.
The annual MassKara Festival held every October, is a celebration, which has earned Bacolod the title "City of Smiles".
It was conceived in October 1980 by a group of government personalities, civic figures and artists with full support from the city government in the midst of the sugar-producing provinces severe economic crisis - resulting to the ailing of sugar industry.
This could have been traumatic to anybody but not to the people of Bacolod who made something good and creative out of it.
MassKara is a festival for local and international tourism. It is intended to provide a venue for the activities and cultural expression.
The word MassKara was coined from two terms: 'Mass" meaning people and "Kara" means the face... thus MassKara means the "face of the Masses". Considered to be the festival's highlights are sports competitions, cultural shows, trade fairs, beauty pageants and the famous MassKara Dance Parade where masked dancers display their gracefulness to the lively rhythm of the musical beat with cooperation, coordination, mastery and stamina. During this celebration people from all walks of life dances around the city's major thoroughfares.
The colorful masks and costumes of the dancers with so much attractiveness gives a lot of intensity to the dance parade. With full of fun, freedom and camaraderie, everyone is caught up in the streets swaying and dancing with so much excitement and momentum.

The accomodation and resorts listings are very helpful @Smile & @Jay. Esp. to tourists and other guests in the city. Just by staring at the list, I'm so surprised how Bacolod hotels have grown. One should not be an expert in mathematics and economics to conclude that the hotel/services/tourism industry in Bacolod/Negros Occ has indeed experienced rapid growth. Lets give credit to the men and women behind this great success. Truly, our province has awaken. The sleeping giant is ready for the next fight. To keep our vibrant economy attain sustainability and stability for the next millennium. Again, congratulations to every Negrense here, there and everywhere.:):cheers:

Tipon only RP bet remaining in Bangkok qualifying
BARRING any reversal of fortunes Bacolod native Joan Tipon of Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City may end up being the only Filipino boxer left with a hope of nailing an Olympic qualifying berth for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
This developed after four other RP pugs, Genebert Basadre, Violito Payla, Orlando Tacuyan, Jr. and Fil-Am Adam Bigormia Fiel went down to their respective opponents one after the other in the ongoing 1st Asian Olympic qualifying in Bangkok.
Tipon was scheduled to take on his second round opponent Ali Mukammad of Pakistan Monday and Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (Abap) officials were confident the 15th Asian Games bantamweight gold medalist will hurdle the Pakistani and prime himself up for another possible clash with Thai rival Worapoj Pechkoom in the semi-finals.
Tipon, the 25-year-old former child prodigy of the Negros Amateur Boxing Association (Naba) headed by now Games and Amusements Board (GAB) commissioner Juan Ramon "Monju" Guanzon, topped Jordanian bet Ebraheem Algharageer, 13-2, to make the quarterfinals against the Pakistani.
The Negrense pug, who lost to the Thai in the first round of last year's AIBA world championship in Chicago, said he is not thinking of the Thai just yet as he wants to take it one bout at a time. But in hindsight, he said he would like to think that he is a better fighter now compared to the last time he tangled against the Thai former Olympics silver medalist.
"Mas maganda po ang kundisyon ko ngayon kumpara sa huli naming laban. Mga 40 percent po ang improvement ko ngayon pero alam ko na si Pechkoom ay ensayado rin," Tipon told Sun.Star Bacolod in a text message.
Pechkoom, whom Tipon defeated in Doha, Qatar in 2006 en route to his Asiad gold, claimed he is still rusty, after he came through with a 22-7 rout of South Korean Han Soon-chul in his first round assignment.
He is scheduled to take on Uzbekistan's Holmuratov Ulugbek, who bested MDK Wanniarchchi of Sri Lanka, 27-9.
Fellow Bacoleño and 1994 Hiroshima Asiad gold medalist Elias Recaido, Jr. said he likes Tipon's chances in this event compared to all his other foreign participations last year.
"Joan is better focused this time compared to last year when he had several unnecessary distractions. Sa tingin ko mas OK ang chances nang bata natin ngayon. Sana tuloy-tuloy na," Recaido said.

Bacolod officials promote blood donation as healthy habit
Bacolod City (29 January) -- Around 5,000 cubic centimeter of blood was donated by constituents of Brgy. 15, this city, as part of their annual fiesta celebration.
According to Dr. Babylin Drilon, Assistant Project Coordinator of the bloodletting team from the City Health Office the Bloodletting Program is pursuant to Republic Act 7719.
The program is chaired by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia with Dr. Edgardo Estrella, Director of the City Health Office as Vice Chairman.
Along with the bloodletting program is a medical and dental mission for the constituents. The bloodletting activity is conducted annually in all 61 barangays participating, Drilon said.
"Donating blood is a healthy habit," Drilon added. The body discards "old" blood every 120 days anyway, so it might as well be donated. It will encourage the production of fresh new blood for the body, Drilon revealed.
The blood is deposited in the blood bank of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital to make it available to the public, particularly the constituents of Bacolod. There are no more commercial blood banks in the city, and commercial blood donors are no longer allowed.
According to Drilon, all the Bacoleños have to do is get a certification from their barangay and pay a minimal processing fee. The blood itself is for free. If the patient is an indigent, even the processing fee is waived, Drilon added.
Recently, another activity was conducted with the Tau Gama Phi Fraternity and the Kiwanis Club of Metro Bacolod where 9,000 cc. of blood was collected. (PIA/EAD)

Bacolod talks with trucker and hauler associations
Bacolod City (29 January) -- City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia has tasked Councilor Wilson "Jun" Gamboa, chairman of the committee on transportation and traffic management, to conduct a dialogue with truckers and hauler associations in the city for traffic safety and decongestion
Gamboa, together with representatives of the offices of the Land Transportation, the City Engineer's, sugar centrals, the Department of Public Works and Highways, held a meeting with truckers and haulers to consult and advice the latter on the city government's plans and measures to decongest the city's roads and highways at the same time protect the vital infrastructures around the city like bridges among others.
According to Gamboa, starting the 31st of January, this year, traffic will be manned by: the personnel of the province and the Land Transportation Office from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, DPWH and city personnel from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM. The aforementioned will be monitoring trucks plying the streets of the city for violations. They will be situated in every intersection in order to hasten traffic flow.
No trucks will be allowed on the highways from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. There will be a "truck ban" within these hours, Gamboa said.
Norman Saril of the LTO said that as of this year, there are 74,000 vehicles registered in the city, that means a notable increase from the number of vehicles plying the city streets than the previous years.
Saril added that in order to prevent spillage from the sugarcane hauling trucks, there should be canvass covers. Cargo should not be more that 14 feet protruding from the back. These measures are to prevent unnecessary disruption of traffic and to provide safety for other vehicles in the streets.
It was established that bridges will be repaired and enhanced to make them enduring to withstand the heavy load. The PHHC bridge is expected to be functional in 50 days and that the work will be undertaken by and funded by Victorias Milling Company with plans and specifications approved by DPWH-Region VI.
Meanwhile, the new route scheme for trucks and haulers is: from the Circumferential Road (Lopue's East), Left to Burgos St., Right to Lopez-Jaena, Left to B.S. Aquino Drive, Right to Lacson Street.
This temporary route will be observed until the PHHC Bridge is repaired. (CMO/PIA)

Rotary Clubs Hold Youth Leadership Camp
The 11th annual Rotary Youth Camp on Values and the 8th Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) took place last weekend at the CICM Seminary in Talisay City.
Some 37 second year students from various high schools in Negros Occidental participated in the event which was hosted by the Rotary Club of Bacolod North.
The two-day program included lectures on leadership skills, love of God, love of family, love of community, and love of the environment plus structured learning experience activities and workshops enabling participants to learn by experience.
“The camp endeavors to inculcate basic values and behaviors that develop positive leadership and influences among participants”, said Louie Gonzaga, past president of the Rotary Club of Bacolod North. “We choose sophomore students because after the camp they are expected to be a positive influence on their peers in their schools and at home. Over the years, the camps have produced many school leaders and some have gone on to graduate with honors in their eventual collegiate courses.” Among the sponsors of the camp were the Rotary Clubs of Bacolod North, Bacolod Marapara, Bacolod, Bacolod West, Bacolod
East, Metro Bacolod, Kabankalan, Victorias and Escalante.
Students came from Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School, and the high schools of Luis Hervia, Domingo Lacson, Bacolod City, Brgy. Singcang, Negros Occidental, Handumanan, Binicuil, Victorias, Escalante, Bata, La Consolacion College, Garden-ville and St. Scholastica’s Academy.*

This ones really cool @Jay.. Most old buildings in Bacolod are now repainted or refurbished. Thats one good undetaking actually if we want to maintain our city's atmosphere as vibrant, clean and touritst appealing as ever.:)
That's correct Mig Jeff and hopefully the neighboring building will follow.I think it would make sense if the city will create a bill for the maintaining of building appearance.
This photo was taken by Mig Suv using my camera.:)
wow nice color ang building sang uni city but never been there yet? is that a retail store? musta jaywalker
Mostly you can find products from China in this Department Store. They have also a branch in Dumaguete.

Thanks Kimber!
Merci's packaging is very nice compared to Bongbongs. That's a very wise move for our Pasalubong Centers. Most of their products are well sealed and beacuse of that it can easily pass the custom check in any airport of the world.
I also brought some BongBong's Piaya as my pasalubong for my local friends here.
