40 storey mixed use tower. Height is 122m to roof and 130m to spire. Will include a five star Radisson Hotel and 167 apartments. Will be Birmingham second tallest structure when built.

Orion Tower

28 storey residential tower. Development comprises of 312 apartments. This scheme has had several height increases, latest rendering showing the tower to be around 90m.

2.3 million sq ft mixed use scheme. Initial plans to include a 50 storey tower has planning permission at 175m and 245m to tip of spire. Recent news suggests that a 600ft 54 floor residential tower may be built.

Latest plans are for a 900,000 sq ft office led mixed use scheme. Development will consist of around 4 plots of which two are designated highrise development opportunities. First phase is a 14 storey office tower offering over 300,000 sq ft of office space

Peat House

Paradise Circus

Office led 3 million sq ft development. Council plans to include 2-3 high rise towers – Latest renders show two towers around 100m and one around 60m. Opposition from several local bodies allowing high rises next to prominent victorian landmarks and favoring a Brindleyplace approach.

Tate Tower

A 130m + tower of around 40 storeys. An early proposal by Kinetic AIU Ltd which was a winning entry in limited design competition for 250,000 sq.ft. office tower, art gallery and public piazza for a site in Eastside.

Tramps Tower

The site of the former Tramps Nightclub is set to house a large tower of around 400 apartments. This is likely to mean that the tower will be around 30 to 40 storeys high.

Rough Diamond Towers

This mixed use development includes three towers up to 120m consisting of 111,480sq m of office space, a 150-room hotel and residential accommodation. M3 Architects state a planning permission will be applied for by the end of the year.

Park Central, Phase 11

One of the final phases of the huge Park central Scheme. This tower will act as a gateway along one of the cities busiest roads and will stand at over 27 storeys and upto 90m tall. It will contain 150 apartments and an Asda store.

Mailbox Phase 2 – The Cube

400,000 sq ft scheme that is made up of a 70-75m Cube shaped building by Make Architects that will house offices, apartments, retail and a hotel. The £60 million project will be an extension of the existing mixed-use offering in The Mailbox.

City Park Gate

This large mixed use scheme is thought to include a residential tower up 25 storeys. The scheme is currently undergoing impact assesments to evaluate how a tall building will affect the area. Due to the size of the development other 12 storey plus towers are likely.

Birmingham Library

350,000 sq ft, 300m long elliptical shaped building that will be the 10 largest library in the world. Recent change to a Liberal democrats/Consertative Council has put the Library in doubt due to funding and location reasons.

Birmingham Wheel

Giant wheel type structure with rotating gondolas to act as a gateway into the city centre from the east. Would be 145m tall if built. Due to the success of the temprory wheel in Centenary Square the developers are looking at alternative tourist attraction proposals.

City of Birmingham Stadium

A 60,000 multi-purpose stadium is being considered to be built to incorporate test cricket, athletics and be the new home of Birmingham City FC. The scheme is heavily dependant on a super casino to be built alongside the stadium. Due to government restrictions Birmingham is likely to get only one. A propsed new £300 million lesiure complex at NEC is also thought to include a super casino.

New Street Station

Plans have been drawn up for the rebuilding of New Street Station that will double the passenger capacity at the station and contain a huge glass roof. The project is projected to cost £350 million.
