It might take me some time but I plan on building
Models of the tall/historic buildings in Philadelphia PA USA,
I'm trying to stick to the 1:1700 scale that seems to become
the standard here, its a good size for people with limited display space.
If it goes well I'll try to offer a larger scale, I plan on using vector
based art such as an adobe illustrator or pdf file so pixels wont be a
problem.
My biggest road block besides spare time is finding good street level photos
and dimensions of the footprint of the buildings.
Google Earth is great for finding a "site plan" or layout of the building
Only drawback is using cars or roads to scale by.
Heights are easy to find out but its easier to build when you have at least 2 known dimensions.
Since 9/11 info on public buildings is tough to come by on line, I have some
good books on skyscrapers but not everyone published.
Any dimensions or elevation views of these buildings would be apreciated
send me a private message or post them here.
Also good clear photos are appreciated as well
When I'm done I'll share them here, free.
I plan on doing (with time):
1&2 Liberty Place
Comcast Building
Mellon Bank Building
Verizon or Bell Atlantic Building
Cira Center
Verizon Building
PSFS Building
Blue Cross Tower
Commerce Square Buildings
Independance Hall
US Customs Building
Or any other significant part of the Philly skyline
I can have the time to design.
Any dimensions or elevation views of these buildings would be apreciated
If you can help post them here.
Thanks! Jason
