East London (Afrikaans: Oos-Londen, Xhosa: eMonti) is a city on the southeast coast of South Africa, situated in the Eastern Cape Province at 32.97°S and 27.87°E.[1]. The city is situated on the Indian Ocean coast, between the Buffalo River, and the Nahoon River, and is the country's only river port. East London today has a population of 250,000, with over 700,000 in the metropolitan area.

I havent been in East London for ages! But those pics are beautiful! And there is a lot of development going on in the city (or so I hear). Thank you for posting.

A city that gets overlooked a lot. Especially being in between Cape Town and Durban.

Why most students in Selborne College are white?

I know East London. The central neighborhoods (except the historic buildings) are not that atractive. The northern suburbs are green, with many gardens. It's a mix between Port Elizabeth and Durban suburbs.

There are not many Whites in the area: only 60.000 (8% of total). The majority is Black, specially Xhosa.

The urban pattern is very South African: many cars and few pedestrians, except, of course, in City Centre.

P.S. I like the "Suid-Afrika" on the title. The Afrikaans is underated in SSC. Even in SA Forum, is hard to find the language.
