Tana maapil ni Mayor Uy ang BPO na project. IT park pls madam kay aron daghang youth ang naay decent nga salaries. Bahala delay ang mga malls basta dapat naa tay IT Park. Naa namay nagsuggest ani kang Madam Uy so paabot nlang ta.

DIPOLOG CITY, Dec. 29 (PIA) -- Having adopted and practiced sound fiscal management as well as transparent and accountable governance, the city government here has recently been conferred the ‘Seal of Good Housekeeping’ by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The city garnered the award after passing the standards of good governance set by the DILG such as compliance with the Full disclosure Policy (FDP), no adverse findings by the Commission on Audit (COA), and the strategies adopted by the city officials in running the local government in terms of the implementation of various programs and projects.

Other areas which were looked into include local legislation, development planning, revenue generation, resource allocation and utilization, customer service-civil applications, human resource management and development, participation, transparency and financial accountability of the Local Government Performance Management System (LGPMS).

Active participation of civil society organizations in the city’s governance has also contributed to winning the award.

The award is said to be a requirement for accessing to the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) from the Office of the President (OP), which is a P1 million grant to finance development projects of the local governments. This means that the city will receive more assistance from the national government agencies (NGAs).

It can be recalled that the city of Dipolog was also recognized by the DILG during the third quarter of this year as one of the top ten outstanding cities throughout the country for its good performance governance, sound fiscal management, participatory governance, and transparent financial accountability. An inmate was killed while two others were wounded Wednesday afternoon when a protest among detainees in the Dipolog City Jail ended in violence.

Danilo Adanza was rushed to Zanorte Medical Center where he died due to the stab wounds he suffered, a police report said.

Prior to the stabbing incident, the inmates were conducting a noise barrage inside Building 2 of the detention facility when, at around 12:30 p.m., they took some of their fellow detainees hostage.

The reportedly demanded to talk to local media and Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rolando Yebes.

Superintendent Deogracias Tapayan, the head at the detention facility, was still negotiating with the inmates as of posting time, the police report said. The issue and demands of the inmates remain unclear. - KBK, GMA News

Gov’t invites firms to bid for P10.53-M terminal

THE GOVERNMENT has invited firms to bid for the construction of a P10.53-million passenger terminal building and management office at the Port of Sindangan in Zamboanga del Norte, a Philippine Ports of Authority (PPA) bulletin published yesterday showed.
“The PPA-Port District Office Southern Mindanao now invites bids for construction of Passenger Terminal Building/Terminal Management Office at Port of Sindangan,” the bulletin read.
Earlier this month, the government invited contractors for an P84.48-million dredging project at the Port of Zamboanga, which is near the vicinity of the Port of Sindangan. . .

The Port of Zamboanga is tagged as one of the country’s main gateway ports, along with ports located in Manila, Batangas, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Ozamiz, General Santos City and Davao.

I was at Gloria Fantasyland last night. In fact, first time nako ka gabii nakaadto didto. Nindot and lingaw au mga bata. Ako bisita gkan sa Cebu very impress kaau. Kung naa pa kuno ni sa Cebu, pwerteng punoa gyud kuno ni.

Nindot pd tong 5D movie nila... Naa pd fireworks. But karon gabii ang mas maau iadto kay naa kuno sila mga programs.. Expected mas daghan tao ron kay daghan mo celebrate sa New year didto...

So kato wa pa kaadto or kato mga bisita nga naay mga kids, pls visit Gloria Fantasyland, I'm sure malingaw gyud mo..

Happy New year tol! Ang ako nadunggan lgi nga estorya kay ang anak ni L kay nakaasawa sa anak ni G. Last 2004 paman to nga nagdungan og invest ng duha. Ang Lee Plaza nangabang ra og space sa former cinema before while ang Gaisano nakapalit og gubot nga yuta. Yeah, nanotice nko na pareha og design ang LP DGT sa Metro Gaisano. Y man wla apil ang TAG og ZAM nga wa may LP anang 2 cities pud? Thanks. :)

The congressman said that he will also prioritize this year the construction of flood control facility for Dipolog river that will extend up to Barangay Lugdungan. The said project will be done in phases due to its projected cost. He also plans to add two more lanes for Sta Isabel-Galas National road but this will not be a priority for now. :banana:

Kagaya diyan sa isang station na kung may caller in on-air kaagad kahit hindi factual based ang comment niya, wala nang time mag clear sa pangalang sa taong siniraan niya kasi siya ang nauna.

Alimpulos, gitumbok niya ang padayung gitrabaho nga commercial complex sa boulevard diin mao na unya ang sentro sa mga patigayun ilabina panahon sa kagabhion tungod kay dagsaon man ug daghang tawo ang boulevard. Gawas pa niana, ang pagatukurong Corazon Aquino Memorial Hospital sa Brgy. Biasong, nga diha na unya makapatambal ang mga pobring katawhan tungod kay lauman man nga barato kini isip gipadagan sa kagamhanang local sa Dipolog.

Hinay-hinay na usab sila sa pagpanlimpyo sa mga dagkung creek sa Dipolog sa paglikay sa pagbaha bisan sa hinay nga pag-ulan, kauban ang City Engineering Office ug ang City General Services Office (CGSO).

Zambo taxpayers contribute biggest share to BIR R15

Taxpayers and business establibishments in Zamboanga City contributed the biggest tax collection share to the Bureau of Internal Revenue compared to other cities and provinces under BIR Region 15.

BIR Regional Director Atty. Alert Alocilja said based on the 2011 statistics the city’s total collection has reached P1.5 billion or 49 percent with Dipolog City following from behind with 21.45 percent collection, Pagadian City contributed 16.33 percent, Sibugay with 7.11 percent, Basilan Province 2.01 percent, Sulu at 1.69 percent and Tawi-Tawi with a measly 1.65 percent contribution.

Sama sa atong hugtanong pagpatuman sa anti-smoking campaign dinhi sa dakbayan sa Dipolog, padayon usab ug hugtanon nga gipatuman ang atong kampanya kontra-droga dinhi sa siyudad partikularmente ang pag-tap sa mga kabaranggayan mahitungod sa kadaut nga makuha sa pagamit sa illegal nga droga sa walay pagtugot sa usa ka doktor ilabina sa mga kabataan hinungdan nga kini makahimo na sa nagkadaiyang kriminalidad sa atong komunidad.

Ang “Barkada Kontra Droga” usa ka nasudnong anti-drug campaign ug programa sa Aquino Administration diin bug-os nga gisuportahan sa atong lokal nga kagamhanan

You're always welcome glenn, take a plane cdo to cebu and cebu to dipolog. Medyo magastos lang noh? Or take a bus ride (Rural Transist) via Iligan-Ozamis to Dipolog mga 8 hrs. ang travel time. Happy trip in advance!

“Dipolog, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, has a busy town center just off the waterfront. Dapitan, a relatively clean city on the edge of a wide bay, is more appealing.”
I had been invited to speak at a conference in Dipolog, organized by the Reading Association of the Philippines, and to prepare for the trip, I checked the travel guide Lonely Planet. That was all it had to say about Dipolog.
So unknown is Dipolog that two of the delegates to that conference were mistakenly booked by their office to fly from Manila to Zamboanga City, because of some vague idea that Dipolog was somewhere close by. The hapless delegates had to take an 8-hour bus trip from Zamboanga City to Dipolog.

Call it lack of care for local geography and current information. Must be busy in their desk looking at facebook. Dipolog is closer to Ozamiz and Pagadian, Both cities have direct daily flights from Manila as well. I wonder what those delegates will say once they know this.

Unfortunately wala kahit noon pa man (you dont need to cross a see or channel kasi), just the same as CDO to Ozamis or CDO to Iligan. But theres fast craft plying Cebu to Bohol to Dumaguete to Dapitan/Dipolog and vise versa.

Dipolog SP Nabalaka Pagsulod sa Maharlika Mining Corp. sa Sergio Osmeña

Sa gipahigayong regular session sa Sangguniang Panlungsod kagahapong adlawa, Enero 10, 2012, mipahayag sa iyang dakung kabalaka si Konsehal James Verduguez sa estado karon sa mining activity dinhi sa Zamboanga del Norte.

Kining maong kabalaka ang gihisgutan ni Verduguez atol sa iyang privilege hour human niya mabasa ang usa ka artikulo sa internet nga nagbutyag nga aduna na’y permiso para mo-operate ang Maharlika Mining Corp. sa lungsod sa Sergio Osmena, ning lalawigan.

Kahibaloan nga ang usa ka parte sa Maharlika chromite ore mining site sa Sergio Osmena mao usab ang lugar nga gikuhaan ug limpyo ug ilimnong tubig sa dakbayan sa Dipolog tungud kay kini nahasubay man padulong sa Layawan River ug mugawas sa Barangay Barra, ning dakbayan.

DIPOLOG CITY, Jan. 12 (PIA) -- A total of P980,000 fund was turned-over recently by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-IX to the city government of Dipolog and the provincial office of the Department Trade and Industry (DTI) for livelihood projects.
DOLE-IX Regional Director Ponciano M. Ligutom personally handed a check worth P480,000 to Mayor Evelyn T. Uy and another check amounting to P500,000 to DTI-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Director Noel R. Bazan during a Special Program for the Employment (SPES) pledging activity held Tuesday at the Top Plaza Hotel in this city.

True, this is an irresponsible act of the person who did arranged this travel. Zamboanga to Dipolog is a long travel after an hour and a half from plane ride.

Yes this is the longest river (Mekong) in Souteast Asia that runs through China down to Cambodia.

Yes dash, there are two entrance gates sa Mediatrix and isa sa may LTO (as seen in the picture) and isa sa may upper turno in front of the then Filkids Park.
