Actually the city wantet to demolish the opera to get more space for offices and parking space. But proud Frankfurt citizien organized a society to get it rebuild. And in 1977 construction began and was finished in 1981.

I'm simply amazed by this opera, it's just the most elegant in the world that I know so far! :) Luckily I can visit this beautiful building in my summer vacation in August, will be a great pleasure to see this grand thing... Of course a big fat 10/10 :D
