pavan9741650414 April 6th, 2012, 07:54 PM Several proposals regarding construction of rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) from Karnataka pending before the rural development ministry will soon be cleared. Union Minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh has promised to expedite the proposals favourably.
Once cleared, Karnataka would get Rs 1400 crore for repair of nearly 4,300 km of rural roads. The state had been pressing the Centre for funds to repair these roads under Phase 3 but the Centre had been unresponsive. This forced Karnataka rural development minister Jagadish Shettar to announce that the state government would take up the repair work under the Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana (CMGSY).
Ramesh’s assurance came when Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi met him in New Delhi recently and explained to him about the need to clear the pending proposals.
Joshi also discussed several other proposals sent by the rural development and panchayat raj ministry in Karnataka. The state has sought clearance for construction of 5,000 km rural roads at a cost of Rs 1,982 crore in collaboration with Japan among others.
The move by the Centre to hasten the development of highways in state comes a month after chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda requested road transport and highways minister CP Joshi to consider extending the proposed Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor up to Belgaum or Mangalore.
In a letter addressed to Joshi recently, Gowda said it was learnt that the ministry was keen on developing Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor on the lines of Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor.
But the state government was of the view that the proposed Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor would not be of much use to Karnataka if it was not extended further from Bangalore to Belgaum or to Mangalore, he said.
“I, therefore request you to consider the development of Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor on the lines of Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor and extend it further up to Belgaum or up to Mangalore,” he said.
AIRPORT
The work on upgrading Hubli airport to international level would be completed in the next two years, according to Airports Authority of India chairman VP Agarwal. Once the works are completed the airport will be ready to facilitate operation of Airbus and other big aircraft.
The Karnataka government has acquired additional 600 acres around the airport in Hubli and handed it over to AAI for development of airport. Agarwal said the AAI had taken up the work at a cost of Rs 160 crore and the work would be expedited.
Already, the AAI has fenced the area spending Rs 8 crore. Other works like construction of runway, control tower, new lounge, terminal, survey of obstruction and soil testing would be completed soon.
The Karnataka government in the recent past has been increasing its focus on upgrading highways in the state and as part of this effort had approved a proposal to upgrade 3,411 km of state highways with a total investment of Rs 2,150 crore over the next three years.
Of the cost, the loan component from the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank is Rs 1,565 crore and Rs 585 crore respectively.

pavan9741650414 April 7th, 2012, 05:03 AM ‘State government has set aside Rs. 30 crore for the purpose'
Here is good news for the transport and logistics industry: work on the truck terminal-cum-logistics park proposed to be set up on Karwar Road near Hubli is likely to begin shortly.
Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain told The Hindu that the State government had in principle given its consent for the project.
Government keen
He expressed confidence that the work on the proposed project would commence this year itself.
Even the State government had focussed on the projects and earmarked Rs. 30 crore for the purpose in the State Budget for 2012-13, Mr. Jain said.
The district administration had identified 56 acres for the project near Anchatgeri village on Karwar Road. Officials of the D. Devaraj Urs Truck Terminals Ltd. (DUTTL) inspected the proposed site and approved it. Following this, the district administration sent a proposal to the Revenue Department to hand over the land to the DUTTL, he said.
Facilities
The proposed truck terminal-cum-logistics park in Hubli would have facilities such as warehousing, parking for trucks and a dormitory.
Moreover, it would help ease the traffic congestion in Hubli, which had high vehicle density, and regulate traffic movement.
But the configuration of the project would be finalised after land transfer to the DUTTL was completed.
The total estimated cost of the project would be Rs. 30 to Rs. 40 crore.
The district administration would hold meetings with stakeholders before finalising the project plans, to make the project a model for others, Mr. Jain added.
‘56 acres have been identified for the project near Anchatgeri village'
The park will help ease traffic congestion in Hubli, says Deputy Commissioner

sujaysjn April 7th, 2012, 10:27 AM My father told me who is Secretary of Probus Club, Navanagar that lot of develpment activities are happening in Navanagar part of 100 Crores sanctioned this year. Around 40-50% of Interiors roads are developing this time and the second garden in Navanagar (not the one which is adjacent to the H-D road) is being developed with Rs 25 Lakhs, last year it was developed with Rs 25lakhs (Works like Compound, drainage/gutter Work and levelling of garden). This time they are constructing jogging track, benches, kids playing area, dhyana mandira and lawn etc. There are already lot of trees in garden. Work is started last week after our MLA Chandrakanta Bellad performed pooja.

Yes Akash. According to me during election we must elect good candidate instead of party. In Congress BJP we have good leaders and bad leaders. JDS is completely family party. If u elect good representative from that party it's of no use. Bcoz appa makkalu avara prayojanane nodthare ashte. Shettar is also good leader. Problem Andre minister Ada nanthra ellaru kaali Bengalure bagene yochisoke shuru maadthare ashte. We want decentralization in Karnataka. Hubli Dharwad and Belagaum has all the potentials to be grow like Pune. The growth engines of North Karnataka including Gulbarga and Bellary

DrYaqoob April 7th, 2012, 05:10 PM KSCA Stadium Raj Nagar
DrYaqoob April 7th, 2012, 05:29 PM KSCA Stadium Rajnagar - HUBLI
If everything goes according to Karnataka State Cricket Association's plan, Hubli stands to boast of an international cricket stadium within a few months. With the renovation at Raj Nagar stadium set to be over in a matter of weeks, it will be the first to have a top class cricket stadium in the North Karnataka region with more than 50,000 capacity.
The renovation is carried out in around 15 acres of land in Raj Nagar, which is situated on the outskirts of the city. KSCA took the ground under contract from the government.
Stadium renovation has been taken up by KSCA. The renovation comes at a budget of Rs 65 lakh with the ground itself using up Rs 10 lakh of the amount. Workers have already replaced the old grass and levelled the ground. Raj Nagar cricket stadium is bigger than Chinnaswamy cricket stadium in Bangalore. The former has a length of 80 feet and width of 100 feet.
It consists of
• eight pitches
• out field
• pavilions
• players' dressing rooms
• administrative office room
• gymasium and
• dormitory.
The work on the stadium was delayed because the government sports department did not spare any funds. Work finally began in June, 2011.

^^Thanks for covering this and uploading the pics DrYaqoob.
Do you have any idea when the entire stadium construction works would be finished including the pavilion, seating etc.
Vishy23 April 7th, 2012, 08:38 PM Although i am not from Hubli, but i still wish KSCA to have 2-3 more international cricket stadia on the lines of Maharashtra(Under MCA: Mumbai-Wankhede & Barbourne, Under MSCA: Nagpur-Vidarbha Stadium, Pune-Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium)
And, AP(Under HCA: Hyderabad-Shastri & Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Under ACA: Vishakapatnam, Vijaywada)
I know for a fact that KSCA is scouting for land near International Airport for new Cricket Stadium, this is welcome, but to further improve cricket infrastructure in other parts of Karnataka esp NK i hope, we should have 1 international stadia in Hubli, Mysore & Manipal each.Otherwise we can only see cricketers like Sunil Joshi/Vinaykumar etc from NK or remote parts of the state making it to Indian team once in our life time and the rest occupied by lads from Bengaluru and nearby catchment areas.
Better, spinoff Bengaluru zone from KSCA and form Bengaluru Cricket Association so that rest other parts in the state gets due attention under KSCA.
I have some hopes on Kumble and Srinath that they will try their best to help develop necessary cricket infrastructure in other parts of the state but cant expect too much from them either.

Thanks Vishy.........:)
Imagine if it was in Mysore they would have finished it within 1-2 years.
Elected reps and sportsperson of this region should pressurise them to make this dream come true.Even in this year budget there was no word of this stadium....:ohno:

Yella T2 cities dhu adhay haadu sir....None of our T2 cities get enough attention, bangalore grabs everything.Politicians are to be blamed.
Tamil Nadu has one of the best Tier two cities along with Gujarat. Their governments treat their T2 cities as apna city, where as in Karnataka T2 cities are treated as Paraya.
Vishy23 April 7th, 2012, 09:07 PM Yes Akash.
All i know and see from the developments in NK: Jagadish Shettar, Chandrakanth Bellad, Veeranna Charanthimath, Seema Masuthi are doing good job.Hope they are voted back again..
Also hope Mr. H.K.Patil a congress heavyweight, to make a come back it will help NK immensely..

DrYaqoob April 7th, 2012, 09:29 PM ‘Hybrid cars are more efficient than electric ones'
New Delhi, April 6:
Though the previous fiscal started on a tumultuous note for the country's largest automaker, Tata Motors' focussed improvements across its model line-up, such as the Nano 2012 and Indica eV2, helped it return to black by the fourth quarter.
In an interview with Business Line, Mr Prakash M. Telang, Managing Director of the India Operations, talks of how the strategy would be taken forward into the new fiscal. He also talks about the changes in its marketing arrangement with Fiat, which is expected to help push the languishing sales of the Italian brand.
It's been a tough year for the auto industry. What is the outlook for FY13?
Last year the commercial vehicle (CV) growth rate came down. We were used to 25-30 per cent growth for two-three years in succession. Compared to that the growth last year came down to a low double-digit. Within that, small and light commercial vehicles grew faster than medium and heavy CVs. It's a matter of concern.
Infrastructure spends didn't move as expected and over all industrial output also came down in some sectors. A lot of restrictions came on mining, while interest rates moved up as well.
The new year (FY13) will be more challenging, but I still believe we will see some growth — on the higher side of single digits for us. Things are so uncertain at the moment, the Government will probably have to come up with some policy announcements. There is expectation that interest rates will come down. If that happens and industrial output goes up, then growth will be on the higher side for the industry.
In the passenger car segment, do you think new models will create traction?
Car sales were also flat last year for us, similar to the industry. In the second half, things were better and we expect to maintain that growth now.
We believe that there are good products that we have. When the fuel prices started to rise rapidly, we realised that fuel efficiency was a clear priority of the customer. So we worked on our vehicles and the result is the Indica eV2 and Indigo eCS. We followed that with the Nano, the first car to cross the 25 kmpl milestone in petrol. All these are giving us good traction.
New models certainly help, but if you can tweak old models also according to the customer's requirement, that also leads to higher sales.
How would you look to push sales of the Nano in 2012, after a roller coaster 2011?
The Nano 2012 is a substantially different model. Fuel efficiency has improved, we picked a lot of customer feedback on suspension, engine noise, which we incorporated. So the product is now well accepted in the market. The plan is to take the number of (solo) Nano sales points to 300, but currently we're at about 130. We're quite satisfied with the progress, we believe this is quite important.
What is the capacity utilisation across your plant right now? Will you add more capacity?
For the small commercial vehicles, we're running full in Pantnagar (Himachal Pradesh) and putting up a new plant in Dharwad (Karnataka). In the first quarter we will start making the Ace Zip there and then the Magic Iris. In heavy CVs, we did a lot of activities in the year before last, so that's in place.
On the car side, the three plants (Ranjangaon, Sanand and Pimpri) are running at 65-80 per cent of capacity. This year, we may have to do some balancing of capacity depending on where the bottlenecks are.
Tata Motors has showcased multiple electric/hybrid versions of its vehicles over the last few years.
Our view is that electric vehicles are not a solution for all environment problems. In India, if you produce electrical energy by burning fossil fuel, which is 90 per cent (of power generation), then you just shift the pollution from the streets of Mumbai to somewhere on the outskirts. We don't have as much hydro-electric or nuclear power, plus we're power deficient.
Hybrids, according to me, are a much better solution, because it is much more efficient. Typically, brake regeneration technology can charge the batteries, plus you can downsize the engine to a much smaller capacity for the same horsepower. When you combine all this with a start/stop system, it is the best for city operating conditions.
Are you planning to launch any hybrid models?
We're supplying about 24 such buses to Madrid city, some of which are CNG hybrids. In India, we're talking to many State Governments. We're working on diesel hybrid buses too.
Hybrids currently are expensive to do. In cars the acquisition cost is typically double a normal car, than in a bus where the premium you pay (for hybrid) is about 60 per cent.
The cost of components (after the Budget reducing import duties) has not come down substantially enough for hybrids to be feasible yet. We will wait and watch to see how big a support is coming (in the EV policy) and how viable it is .
We are running tests of the Indica Vista in the UK and are looking at such markets closely for a launch.
Why a separate showroom strategy for the Fiat brand?
This is misunderstood in the market place. Tata showrooms started getting overcrowded as we launched new products (Vista, Nano, Aria) over the last 2-3 years. The same showrooms can't accommodate so many products, so based on that a selective decision was taken on identifying those areas where the dealer is overcrowded. There will be the same Tata dealer with a different premise for Fiat in such cases. So in some cases, it still remains in the same showroom.

DrYaqoob April 8th, 2012, 05:55 PM HUBLI NEW RAILWAY STATION BUILDING
http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/8302/rly1.jpg
Hubli New Railway Station, which was being built at a cost of Rs. 27 crore, will be a model for the whole country. The amount spent (February 2012) is Rs. 12 crore. It will have two entrances one at Station Road and the other at Gadag Road. As many as 148 railway quarters located close to the existing station have been demolished to make way for the new building. The total area is around 8,500 sq. meters will have bus parking facility at the subway level. There will be separate and wide exit & entry points. It will have separate parking lots for two- and four-wheelers.
There are four blocks( A,B,C and D) in this ambitious project, works on B, C and D blocks would be completed soon, while the work on the block A would take some more time. The whole project will be completed by 2014 depending on the availability of funds.
The project would be taken up in two phases.
Works under the first phase involves
• conversion of the existing platform number 1 of Hubli Railway Station into a "through platform" (18 bogies)
• construction of a new high-level platform with a through line for 18 bogies and
• a short platform for nine bogies
• construction of a foot overbridge
• platform shelter
• concourse
• booking counters and
• yard remodelling including signalling works.
Facilities
The concourse measuring about 551 sq.mtrs, will comprise
• a booking office,
• stalls/ booths,
• vending outlets,
• help desk,
• information facilitation counter,
• current reservation booking counter,
• IRCTC Kitchen and food plaza,
• tourist facilitation centre,
• cyber cafe and
• modular booths.
• AC waiting hall with 150 seats and a VIP lounge,
• non-AC sleeper class with 300 seats and
• a ladies waiting hall with 100 seats.
• toilet blocks
During the second phase, the remaining portion of the station according to the master plan will be built.
• five high-level platforms (26 bogies, through)
• two high-level platforms (22 bogies)
• saloon siding (16 bogies)
• new subway
• new foot overbridge
• six pit lines
• yard remodelling for Hubli-Hebsur doubling and Hubli Ankola new line and bypass line
• Escalators would be provided at the station
With the completion of both phases of the project, the Hubli Railway Station will have EIGHT Platforms.
The new building will be a sort of a monument, considering the materials that would be used in its construction.
Note: This information is prepared based on the statements given by Railway Officials in the news papers.

DrYaqoob April 9th, 2012, 12:26 PM Counters outside station to sell unreserved train tickets
Railway passengers who were forced to stand in serpentine queues for getting unreserved tickets especially during rush hours at the Hubli station, can now heave a sigh of relief, as they can now get railway tickets from two other counters besides the railway booking office.
According to a release issued by the office of the Divisional Railway Manager, Hubli, the Hubli Division of the South Western Railway (SWR) has opened Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Seva (JTBS) counter at Hubli for the convenience of railway passengers seeking unreserved railway tickets.
The public can get unreserved tickets at the JTBS counter. However, they will have to pay a rupee extra per passenger over the train fare for availing the facility.
The new JTBS has been set up on the premises of Neha Bakery, Opposite BSNL Office on Station Road in Hubli and Praveen N. Patil is the new Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak for Hubli.
In addition to the new JTBS, railway passengers can also get unreserved tickets at Shop no. 14, Basement of Diamond Corner, Opposite Sawai Gandharva Hall, Deshpande Nagar, Hubli, where Shrilakshmi Hanumsagar has been authorised to issue unreserved railway tickets at a commission of Re. 1 per passenger.
The release said that the aim of setting up of JTBS counters was to provide unreserved tickets without any hassles to the general public so that they can avoid waiting at ticket windows at railway stations.
The Divisional Railway Manager has urged people to make use of the facility.

DrYaqoob April 10th, 2012, 08:11 AM Purified water at 10 paise a litre
Residents of Halyal village in Hubli taluk of Dharwad district, who were dependent on the village tank for drinking water, will now get clean purified water at a cost of 10 paise per litre.
Veteran cooperative leader Mallikarjungouda C. Policepatil inaugurated a water purification unit at Halyal village on Monday, and launched the cooperative initiative to provide pure drinking water to rural people in Dharwad district.
Initiative
The cooperative initiative involves K.H. Patil Foundation and Rural Medical Service Society as facilitators. The society will provide financial assistance to villages that need it to install water purification units.
The village residents will now get 20 litres of purified water by inserting a Rs. 2 coin in the coin box that is attached to the water purification unit installed in the village.
The residents have been provided with a 20-litre can for storing water.
Speaking to presspersons at Halyal village, the former Minister and Congress leader H.K. Patil said that installation of the water purification unit was possible because of the assistance extended by the gram panchayat members and local leaders.
According to Mr. Patil, the installed unit can provide 1,000 litres of purified water per hour.
Mr. Patil said that it was the first such water purification unit installed in Dharwad district to provide purified water to village residents.
Already 30 such units were functioning in Gadag district and five are going to be inaugurated, he added.
Quality
He said that the initiative was aimed at providing purified water of standard quality that is available now only to those who can afford to pay over Rs. 10 a litre.
“We thought why should village residents be deprived of clean drinking water. Although surface water is available, it is not free from contamination and the water from borewells is often brackish. So, we thought of installing water purification units”, he explained.
Mr. Patil said that the foundation and the society would act as facilitators to help residents install water purification units in their respective villages by providing them the know-how and also funds, if required.
“We want the village people to own the facility for their own benefit and its maintenance is their responsibility”, he said.
The former Minister A.M. Hindasageri, the former MLA C.S. Shivalli, Director of Hubli APMC Raghunathgouda Kemplinganagoudar, president of Halyal Gram Panchayat Mahadevi Halyal, vice-president Siddanagouda, Congress leaders Aravind Katagi, F.H. Jakkappanavar and Mahendra Singhi were among those present on the occasion.
People will get 20 litres by inserting a Rs. 2 coin in the box attached to unit

pavan9741650414 April 11th, 2012, 05:22 AM HUBLI: No need to stand in serpentine queues to pay your property tax. With the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) launching e-payment system, you can now make tax payment just at the click of a mouse.
After the Bruhat Bangaluru Mahanagara Palike ( BBMP), the HDMC is the second municipal corporation in the state to launch online property tax system. Earlier, people had to wait in long queues at the Hubli-DharwadOne office, the HDMC office or its zonal offices in the twin cities to pay their taxes. Now, they have the option of making tax payment at the comfort of their home or office.
E-payment is also supposed to bring about transparency in tax collection. People should create their login ID and password to enter the websites to pay the property tax through the e-payment.
HDMC commissioner K V Trilokchandra told TOI that people of the twin cities can pay their property tax through their credit cards and debit cards by visiting the websites like www.hdmc.gov.in and www.karnatakaone.gov.in. "We have associated with the Electronic Delivery of Citizens Service for providing payment gateway for citizens. We have also planned make mobile payment possible in the coming days," he said.

engineer.akash April 11th, 2012, 05:44 AM Garbage heaps make life hell for residents
HUBLI: The umpteen promises and claims of elected representatives notwithstanding, residents of Toravihakkal and Chennapeth in Hubli are living a life full of inadequacies.
Bad roads, garbage-filled drains and unscientific garbage disposal system have made their life hell.
The main road which connects Channapeth road from Kasabapeth has not seen any kind of facelift in the recent past. The road has become a nightmare for motorists and pedestrians alike.
Sushila Katare, a resident of Toravi Hakkala said lack of good roads is one of the many problems they face on a daily basis.
"People residing on both the sides of the road are suffering due to dust emanating from the road whenever vehicles pass. Drains are filled with garbage and have become useless. These have become a breeding ground for mosquitoes," Sushila said.
The damaged street lights near the bridge serve no purpose. Due to this, motorists find it hard to travel during night time, she added.
Ashok B K, a resident of Channapeth, said the lack of garbage container in the area is causing inconvenience to people. "The corporation workers do not clean the containers regularly. Due to stink emanating from the spot, people throw garbage to the container from a distance. This has worsened the situation. Moreover, we receive drinking water once in a week from the corporation," he said.
HDMC mayor Pandurang Patil told TOI that the tarring work on the road connecting Chennapeth and Kasabapeth will start soon. Other civic problems will also be taken care of.
Due to water distribution problem in Nehru Nagar tank, there is a delay in water supply at Aravind Nagar and surrounded areas. However, residents are getting water once in 4-5 days, he claimed. He said the garbage-carrying vehicles are roaming in all areas and requested the public to give their garbage bags to them, instead of throwing it outside the containers.

how many traffic police stations are present in HD?
HUBLI: One more traffic police station has come up in Hubli to take care of the eastern part of the city. With this, the number of traffic police stations in the twin cities has gone up to four -- three in Hubli and one in Dharwad.
However, the mere increase in the number of stations is no solace for the burgeoning traffic woes of Hubli and Dharwad, where over 10,000 new vehicles are added every year. What the twin cities need desperately is more number of traffic cops to manage vehicular movement efficiently. But hardly any efforts have been made in this direction.

engineer.akash April 12th, 2012, 10:36 AM Gold sales set to soar in Hubli this year
HUBLI: Drought and escalating gold prices don't seem to have slowed the sale of gold in Hubli and other North Karnataka region. With Akshaya Tritiya scheduled to be celebrated on April 24, the sale of the yellow metal is all set to be higher this year. After Bangalore, Hubli reportedly had the highest sale in the past two occasions of Akshaya Tritiya.
People, including farmers from Bijapur, Haveri, Gadag, Bellary, Bagalkot, Koppal and Raichur, are preparing to buy gold in Hubli. Over the past year, many companies like Malabar Gold, Joyalukkas, Chemmanur Jewellers and Swarna Jewellers have opened their showrooms here. People are making a beeline with most of the showrooms registering 45%-50% booking for gold for Akshaya Tritiya.
According to sources, around 290kg of gold was sold on the occasion in 2010 in Karnataka, of which 74kg were sold in Hubli. In 2011, 320kg of gold was sold, of which 84kg were sold in Hubli.
Govinda Niranjan, president, Jewellers' Association, Hubli, told TOI that though there is drought in the North Karnatak region, the demand for gold has remained unaffected. "This year, we expect to sell around 100kg to 120kg in the region during Akshaya Tritiya. About 40% of buyers are farmers, 30% are job-holders and 30% are businessmen," he said.
Shashank Ekbote, AGM, and Sameer, sales executive, of Malabar Gold and Diamond, said most people buy pure 24 carat gold in the form of coin, biscuit or ring (suttu ungura) on the occasion while some buy ornaments. "We expect to sell around 4kg to 5kg on Akshaya Tritiya," they added.
Yellappa Dyapi, a farmer of Gudageri, said he will buy bangles worth Rs 42000 while Suresh Suryavansi, a retired worker, said he is investing Rs 1.5 lakh in gold.
More people purchase gold with long-term investment in mind. They invest Rs 2000 to more than Rs 1 lakh in gold. They may sell it or pledge it if they require money in future when the price of gold will further go up in future.

engineer.akash April 13th, 2012, 05:29 PM INDUSTRIALIST DONATES RS. 48 LAKH FOR RESEARCH ON COTTON
Mysore, Apr.13- M. Jagannath Shenoi, Managing Partner of Mangalore Ganesh Beedi and Chairman of Silent Shores Resort, Mysore, today donated the first instalment of Rs. 9 lakh to the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Dharwad for conducting research on cotton, specifically to create a hybrid variety. He will be donating a total of Rs. 48 lakh in installments for the purpose.
Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, Rampriyadas, Chartered Accountant of Jagannath Shenoi said that only BT cotton seeds were available in the market and no research had been done in the past 35 years on the indigenous varieties of cotton.
He said that the UAS had come up with the idea of doing research on Indian cotton for which Shenoi agreed to fund the resea-rch programme and added that once the research is completed, cotton seeds would be distributed to the farmers free of cost.
He also said that this variety could be grown using organic manure, without any artificial fertilisers and pesticides.
A cheque for Rs. 9 lakh was handed over to Dr. S.S. Patil, Senior Cotton Breeder, UAS, who is deputed by the VC. Rampriyadas said this was the endeavor of Shenoi to encourage use of desi variety of cotton, thus making farmers self-sufficient.
