Narayana Hrudalaya, Jayadeva are in Bangalore.. People have to travel 300km for this and not many take this risk of travelling.. and not all poor knows what is kept for them away from home.

we have discussed this many times over on ssc i which yield no results apart from filling up pages.

The only conclusion i would like to make here is that,this BJP govt is shit with no vision and not a single city benefited from their governance.Get back visionary like sm krishna.

I dont agree with you Akash. We all know SM Krishna had only developed Bangalore not any other parts of Karnataka, thats why Congres lost in all parts of Karnataka except Bangalore and surroundings. For North Karnataka especially for twin cities BJP government did a lot what ever their internal fights / quarrels. We have seen/seeing lot many infra works which will yield good results in the coming days.

We had a chief minister in the name of S.R Bommai in the past, he did nothing for the development of either twin cities or North Karnataka.

We had many MPs in the past from this part, but no body raised their voice in the parliament, but at least now present MP is raising his voice and bringing many issues to the consideration of central gov ministers and getting works done (many bits and pieces of works have been done like road developments, gram sadak yojana and many issues/works which we are seeing by following him in facebook). He is right person to be elected next term also.

No government has allotted grant to Corporations in the past as like BJP which already granted 100 crores to to major tier 2 citis corporations and now another grant of 100 crores. HDMC and district authorities are utilising that amount in right manner with good co-ordination between HDMC, district authorities, MLA's and Ministers. I could remember in the past former HDMC commssioner (dynamic) Mr Manivannan took 30 crore loans for the road development in twin cities.

I had been to Madurai couple of months back on a product release.What I saw was unbelievable. Still Madurai is known for temples etc It is developing like anything. Lot of industries,IT firms setting up firms there.
Thatswhere our cities are lagging behind. Later I went to my friend's
home in Coiambatore. No words on this city. it is well Industralized than any other tier 2 city in India.

The politicians there has done a lot for thier cities. But in Karnataka it is different
I hope Mysore,Mangalore,Hubli,Belgaum,Gulbarga to be industralized likewise

Karnataka approves Rs 1,000-cr investments in logistics

Bangalore, May 31:

Ahead of the Global Investors Meet (GIM), the Karnataka Government has cleared investments in logistics and warehouses to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore.

Also on its own, the government plans to build four Logistics Parks with a total investment of Rs 1,800 crore through private partnership route.

To facilitate development across the state, the Infrastructure Development Department has initiated moves to build Logistics Parks in Bangalore, Hassan and Hubli on public-private partnership (PPP) mode. According to a senior Infrastructure Development Department (IDD) official, the government is looking for an integrated approach by providing multi-modal/integrated logistics transport centre, warehouses, inland container depots, domestic rail head, and air cargo centres.

Logistics Parks are to come up at Harohalli Industrial Area in Bangalore with an investment of Rs 500 crore, Dabbaspet (Rs 600 crore), Hassan (Rs 350 crore) and Hubli (Rs 350 crore).

The department has invited registration of interests (RoI) from global, national companies and is open to joint ventures and consortia for development of logistics parks.

An industries department official said the projects cleared recently are Vikram Logistics and Maritime Services which is investing Rs 342.59 crore to set up logistics services at Maranaikanahally and Samanduru villages in Anekal.

The project is to come up on 120 acres of land owned by one of the directors of the company.

It is likely to give employment to 675 people. Property developer Gopalan Enterprises is to build a warehouse at Cheelur village Maralvadi hobli in Kanakapura with an investment of Rs 188 crore and offer employment to 5,000 people.

The promoters of the project have sought 104.06 acres of land.

The government has instructed project proponent to obtain consent to an extent of 70 per cent from the land owners for further assistance.

The Gurgaon-based Siddhivinayaka Farm Fresh is to set up a muti-commodity agri-cold chain network and logistic hub at Vishwanathapura near Devanahalli. The project is to come up on 11 acres on a private land at an investment of Rs 160.66 crore.

Magna Warehousing and Distribution Private Ltd with an investment of Rs 381 crore to develop spaces and infrastructure for IT offices, hotel rooms, meeting spaces and convention, shopping including food courts, restaurants, cinema, departmental stores to complement with the location at EPIP industrial areas at Hoodi Village next to Sri Sathya Sai Hospital at Whitefield.

SM Krishna was not urban centric, he was Bangalore centric. Show me his contribution towards one teir 2 city apart from Bangalore. During his five year tenure, Karnataka didn't receive good rain twice not all five years. He was busy in only planning to make Bangalore Singapore, but not any other tier 2 cities Bangalore. That was the bad part of him!!

During his tenure nothing was planned for any power plant, effect of that is 8-10 hours of load shedding in major parts of Karnataka. Main resource for any industries is water and Electriccity. We are not able to provide industries enough power, then how come they will invest here.

High-speed rail linking Bengaluru to Chennai and other Tier 2 cities in the State will soon become a reality.

After several rounds of talks between the Japanese government and the State government, the high-speed train project will get a thrust in this year’s Global Investors Meet (GIM), which will see the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the State government and the government of Japan.

The project has been conceptualised in three phases — between Mysore and Chennai via Bengaluru, between Bengaluru and Belgaum via Davanagere and Hubli, and between Bengaluru and Gulbarga.

“A Japanese company which has already discussed the project with the State government is expected to submit its technical report in December which will be forwarded to the Union railway ministry for approval.

The project will be taken up on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The first phase of the project will cost Rs 1 lakh crore at a per km cost of Rs 200 crore,” says large and medium scale industries minister Murugesh R. Nirani.
Nirani recently led a delegation to Japan to discuss the high-speed train project with Japanese railway authorities.

The project will give a boost to the Karnataka’s economy and hence the State government is giving its full support.

It is said the Government of Japan will fund the project while the respective State governments in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will have to cooperate and sanction the land needed to accomplish the project.

It will take 2 hours to Chennai

Japan’s famous ‘bullet trains’ make commuting much faster between two cities, and Karnataka is poised to provide a similar experience in collaboration with the Japanese government.

Travelling between Bengaluru and Chennai in a bullet train at a speed of 300-320 kmph will cut travel time drastically.

When the project is completed, it will take just two hours to travel from Mysore to Chennai via Bengaluru. Currently, it takes seven hours by Shatabdi, considered to be the fastest train in the country.

The introduction of a rail route will also reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Mysore. It takes three hours to reach Mysore by road; the bullet train will reduce the travel time to just 30 minutes.

Mysore city is an important trade and commerce hub. On a daily basis, a large number of traders and employees of IT companies commute on the Mysore- Bengaluru route.

The bullet train project will work wonders for trade, commerce and the booming IT industry. Preliminary work on the project, including the design, will be finalised in three months.

The State government will make a formal submission on the project to the Union government and work will then commence.

ಶನಿವಾರ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಯುವ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಚಿವ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ , ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನಾ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ನಂತರ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ತುಮಕೂರನಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರವರೆಗೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಚಿಕ್ಕಜಾಜೂರಿನಿಂದ ಅರಿಸಿಕೇರಿ ಮಧ್ಯದ 45 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.ವರೆಗೆ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 1,800 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚವಾಗಿದ್ದು , ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ತುಮಕೂರ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಮಧ್ಯದ ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗೆ 350 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಜೋಡಿ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ನಂತರ ಫಾಸ್ಟ್ ಎಕ್ಸಪ್ರೆಸ್ ರೈಲುಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರವನ್ನೂ ಈ ಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದರು.

ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಸಮ್ಮತಿ :
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಅಂಕೋಲಾ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಶೀಘ್ರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆಶಯ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಶಾಭಾವನೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ , ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ 7-8 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸಮ್ಮತಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ಯ 31 ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 2,993 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಉದ್ದದ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ 17,800 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 890 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಉದ್ದದ ಯೋಜನೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬಾಕಿ ಯೋಜನೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಇನ್ನೂ 13,800 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದ್ದು , ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ 9,200 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ 4,600 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಬೇಕಿದೆ.

ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 53 ಹೊಸ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಸರ್ವೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು , 9 ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಂಜೂರಾತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. 18 ಸರ್ವೆಗಳ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಂಡಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. 8 ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಸರ್ವೇ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಕುಡಚಿ-ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಶೀಘ್ರ
ಕುಡಚಿ-ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಭೂಮಿ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು , ಮೂರ*್ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದೆ. ಹೊಸಪೇಟ-ವಾಸ್ಕೋ ರೈಲು ಜೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮಂಜೂರಾತಿ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಬಜೆಟ್*ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಜೂರಾಗಿದ್ದ 280 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದ ಸಚಿವ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ , ತಾವು ಸಚಿವರಾದ ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಹಂಪಿ ಎಕ್ಸಪ್ರೆಸ್ ರೈಲು ದುರಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಚಾವ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಇಲ್ಲ. ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರೆಂದು ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧವೂ ಮುಲಾಜಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಕ್ರಮ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ಮುನಿಯಪ್ಪ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ದುರಂತ ಕುರಿತು ನಡೆಸಿದ ತನಿಖೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರೆಂದು ಕಂಡುಬಂದವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕ್ರಮ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಹಂತದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲು ಅಪಘಾತ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಿಗ್ನಲ್ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಯೋಚಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಅಪಘಾತ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Actually it is a part of SH-34 - Highway connecting Aurad with Sadashivagad via Balki, Basavakalyana, Alandh, Afzalpur, Indi, Bijapur, Jamakhandi, Mudhol, Lokapur, Ramdurg, Saundatti, Dharwad, Ramanagara, Supa (Joida) and Anasi.

It is the Longest State Highway......666 kms

HUBLI: The Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation started its ambitious cleanliness project 'Operation Dirty' with much fanfare but it looks like the local body has forgotten to keep its own neighbourhood clean.

The case in point is the corporation park. The park, next to the HDMC office, is full of garbage even as the corporation vows to make the twin cities spick and span under its 'Operation Dirty' launched recently.

The corporation's failure in keeping its garden clean has inconvenienced many. The corporation-run Chitguppi hospital is located behind the park and relatives of patients come to the park to take rest and have their meals. The park has many trees, playthings for children, a lawn and a small pond in its premises. But the park, which has a history of 130 years, has not been maintained properly. Heaps of garbage can be seen in the pond and every corner of the garden.

Citizens come to the park for their daily walk. Speaking to TOI, Mohankumar Patil, a regular to the park said he has not seen water in the pond for many years. On the other hand, it is full of garbage. And the fountain built along with the pond is defunct.

Another regular visitor Chandrayya said the greenery of the park is shrinking by the day due to lack of maintenance. "There was a time when the corporation park was a must-visit in Hubli. But now nobody even seems to know such a park exists," he said.

Akash, it is part of KSHIP-II project. It will be a decent two lane road, similar to Bagalkot-Belgaum which was developed under KSHIP-I. As it is backed by loan from World Bank/Asian Devp Bank, maintaining a minimum quality level in MUST, IMO.

On a similar note, just fyi, Haliyal taluka (part of Uttar Kannada dist) is much nearer to Dharwad (about 35km) compared to Karwar which is about 70-100 km, depending on the route you take...

Hey I know about that. I raised this because the construction has resumed...

It was in a dispute, so stopped construction in between way back in 2002-2003. I heard it was belonging to Chaddha (Owner of Hansa Hotel). good to see the construction has been resumed. May be they are constructing a vehicle show room..

On a similar note, just fyi, Haliyal taluka (part of Uttar Kannada dist) is much nearer to Dharwad (about 35km) compared to Karwar which is about 70-100 km, depending on the route you take...

Special package of incentives, concessions for projects worth Rs 250 cr and above
In an effort to attract investors ahead of the second edition of Global Investors’ Meet (GIM), the State government has extended a special package of incentives and concessions for projects worth Rs 250 crore and above coming up outside Bangalore.

Industries Ministers Murugesh Nirani on Monday told media that the special package would be over and above those already announced under the State Industrial Policy. The package will be offered on case-to-case basis, depending on the sector and the amount of investment proposed. The government has taken a liberal stand on offering incentives for the sake of industrial development in the State, the minister said.

He, however, refused to divulge details on the new incentives and concessions that the government has been planning to offer. He only said a high-level committee headed by the Chief Minister will be set up to look into the applications seeking special packages by investors.

Some of the big ticket companies which signed MoUs with the government in GIM 2010 too have got special incentives and concessions. For instance, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have been given 40 per cent value added tax (VAT) repayable by the company to the Government as interest-free loan for up to 10 years for its proposed investment in Narasapura in Kolar district. The company will start repaying the loan from the 11th year.

Besides, 95 per cent of CST will be reimbursed to the company for a period of five years and the land registration cost has been completely waived of. Principal Secretary to Industries and Commerce department M N Vidyashankar said entrepreneurs always go to the place where they get the maximum benefit. Hence, the government has to offer special packages to attract them.

Nirani said Japan International Construction Company (JICC) has evinced interest to implement the proposed high-speed train on Bangalore-Mysore and Hubli-Dharwad corridors in the first phase. A detailed project report will be ready by December this year, he added.

As many as 55 top industrialists, including N R Narayana Murthy of Infosys, chairperson of Aditya Birla Group Kumaramangalam Birla, President and CEO of General Electronics John Flannery, GVK Group chairperson G V K Reddy, have confirmed their participation in the GIM-II which is scheduled to be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre off Tumkur Road on June 7 and 8. Business delegations from about 30 countries are expected to attend the meet, Nirani said.

The Minister said the road connecting to BIEC from Bangalore will be declared toll-free for the convenience of the participants. Steps are being taken to fill potholes on the main thoroughfares of Bangalore. Information about the projects cleared during the two-day event will be immediately posted on the Commerce and Industries department’s website, he added.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ (ಜಿಮ್-2) ಮೂಲಕ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ರೂ 6 ಲಕ್ಷ ಕೋಟಿ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು 10 ಲಕ್ಷ ಕೋಟಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಅಂದಾಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಚಿವ ಮುರುಗೇಶ ನಿರಾಣಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಜೂನ್ 7, 8ರಂದು ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ಎರಡನೇಯ ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಜಿಮ್ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಚಿವರು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಒಟ್ಟು 30 ದೇಶಗಳು `ಜಿಮ್-2`ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದ್ದು, ಜಪಾನ್, ಜರ್ಮನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೊ ಪಾಲುದಾರ ದೇಶಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 300ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಗಳು ಬಂದಿವೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯ ವಿವರ ಹೀಗಿದೆ…..

* `ಜಿಮ್-1`ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ 389 ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ (ಎಂಒಯು) 40 ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗಳು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಜಾರಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಹಲವು `ಎಂಒಯು`ಗಳು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಶೇ 62ರಷ್ಟು ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಗೊಂಡಿವೆ.

* ಪ್ರತಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಒಂದರಂತೆ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ ಘಟಕಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎರಡು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರನೇಯ ಹಂತದ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರೂ 250 ಕೋಟಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ಯಾಕೇಜ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

* ಹೂಡಿಕೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ಮೈಸೂರು, ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ -ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ನಡುವೆ ಹೈಸ್ಪೀಡ್ ರೈಲು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಬಳಿಕ ಕಾನೂನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲೂ ಸ್ವಜನ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತ, ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೆಳಹಂತದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಯಾರ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಬಗೆಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಐಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾಗಿ ಬರಲು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಕೆಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆತರಲು ಹುನ್ನಾರ ನಡೆದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

DHARWAD: Residents of old Dharwad are finally seeing the interior roads in good shape, thanks to the development works taken up under the second edition of Rs 100-crore special grant given by the chief minister to Hubli-Dharwad.
The funds received in the first edition had been utilized to give the twin cities a cosmetic look and the second edition of the works have been benefitting thepeople directly as they are related to basic infrastructure.
The roads in Hosayallapur, Kampli Basaveshwar Nagar, Durga Colony, Manikanth Nagar, Hosakumbar and other localities have not seen any repair works since decades and the people were forced to put up with bad and bumpy roads. Due to the initiative taken by the district administration, at least in Dharwad, the interior roads have been given a facelift and works are underway for the construction of drains and footpaths.
Development of internal roads, carpeting of roads, drain works, improving cultural infrastructureand underground drainage havebeen given priority. Deputy commissioner Darpan Jain paid a surprise visit to these areas onTuesday.
Seventy-year-old Yallappa Hadimani, a resident of Hosayallapur, said this is the firsttime in his life, he has seen interior roads in old Dharwad being carpeted in true sense of the term. "Earlier the roads used to be repaired temporarily and they would be back to their original shape after the first rains of monsoon," he said. The work is expected to be completed before March 2013.

Bangalore, June 5: The country’s IT capital is set to add a feather to its information technology cap. A 10,000-acre feather, if you are interested in figures.

Karnataka IT secretary M.N. Vidyashankar today said the Centre had given the state the go-ahead to develop an Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) near Bangalore, dubbed the nation’s Silicon Valley for its dotcom boom.

“It will be the finest destination for investors in software and hardware solutions since the city already hosts all kinds of technology firms,” said Vidyashankar, who is also the state’s secretary for commerce and industry.

The clearance also means Bangalore has scored over neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, whose proposal for an ITIR is waiting for the Centre’s nod.

Vidyashankar, who was speaking on the sidelines of a media conference to announce a two-day global investors’ meet here, said the blueprint for the proposed region would be presented at the June 7-8 event, expected to attract delegates from 30 countries.

The state government has already notified 10,212 acres for the ITIR, which would come up 14km off Bangalore International Airport — 44km from the city centre — towards the foothills of tourist destination Nandi Hills. Global consultancy firm Deloitte has been hired to help spot investors for the proposed township.

Sources said the state government would soon seek central clearance to extend the city’s Metro Rail network to the ITIR, which would eventually be a self-contained township with IT firms, residential enclaves, shopping hubs, hospitals and educational institutions.

Apart from the ITIR project and the Metro Rail link, the plans also include an aerospace hub. “I can tell you the aerospace city would be a game changer not just in India but in this part of the world itself,” Vidyashankar said.

The first phase of the aerospace hub, where the focus would be everything related to IT in avionics, will come up on 1,000 acres close to the new international airport. It will be developed by Sun Forest City, a London-based company.

Vidyashankar described Bangalore as the best location for an aerospace city. “With at least 80 per cent of the aerospace needs being IT, where else can such a centre come up?” he said.

He reserved further details for chief minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, who would inaugurate the investors’ meet.

Sources said the two “path-breaking” projects — the ITIR, which will have its own airstrip, and the aerospace hub — had the potential to provide employment to a few lakh professionals.

The state is also pursuing its dream of high-speed trains with the help of Japan. In the first phase, these trains — copies of bullet trains of Japan — would link Bangalore with Mysore (140km) and Hubli with Belgaum (95km). The second phase will link Bangalore with Hubli (470km) and Hubli with Bidar (470km).

Industries minister Murugesh Nirani said all these cities would eventually be linked by trains capable of clocking 300kmph. Experts from Japan are scheduled to attend the investors’ meet. “We have already identified land for the rail to pass through and will start (land) acquisitions as soon as the project gets all the clearances,” Nirani added.

Less than 20 of the 152 corporators turned up on the first day of the much-hyped India Municipal Vision 2020 conference hosted by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The aim of the meet is to plan city development based on the success stories from other cities. Those who stayed away from the conference have complained that they were not included as “dignitaries” in the invitation cards.
Expressing concern over the poor turnout, minister of state for urban development Bhaskar Jadhav said this was unfortunate given that the corporators are the ones to decide on the future development of the city.

BJP legislator Girish Bapat raised the issue of absence of corporators and party leaders at the inaurgural function. “The conference was mainly for the elected representatives. The initiative would have helped them understand issues and implement projects for the development of the city,” said Bapat.

The absence of corporators and party leaders was of deep concern and was not in the interest of the city, he said, adding that political parties should compel their respective corporators to participate. Incidentally, city BJP chief Vikas Matkari is also nominated to the general body of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and was absent for the inaugural function.

Jadhav said, “It was expected that the conference would lead to a vision statement for PMC. If the corporators don’t participate in such initiatives then the discussion on development issues would be of no use.”

Eight mayors of various cities, including Faridabad, Hubli-Dharwad, Solapur, Parbhani, Amravati attended the inaugural function and were felicitated by the civic body.

Those absent justified their decision. “The invitation card should have photographs of party leaders, but it had only mayor, deputy mayor on it. We asked the mayor to include photos of party leaders, but she refused saying that the conference was a joint initiative with a private company,” said a party leader.

Minister pushes for value-based property tax

Minister of state for urban development Bhaskar Jadhav urged the PMC officials to organise a seminar on value-based property tax assessment as recommended by the state government as a permanent solution for issues related to property tax.

Taking a serious note of media reports on the poor quality asphalting of road at Jannat Nagar here, Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain, who holds the charge of Commissioner of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, has instructed officials to serve notice to the contractor.

The Hindu had written about the poorly asphalted road in Jannat Nagar in Tuesday's edition.

Not even a day

The newly re-carpeted road here did not last even 24 hours and the surface of the road peeled off. The work was reportedly done in a hurry by the contractor on Sunday.

Mr. Jain, who visited the area, said the contractor carried out the work without a proper plan. Roads in this area do not have a base, and so asphalting cannot be done before completing the base, he said.

This work was not included in the Chief Minister's Rs 100-crore special grants project but was taken up under the general works of the municipality, he said.

Mr. Jain instructed the engineer to halt the work and serve notice to the contractor, V.S. Hanji, for submitting a false design. An inquiry would be conducted and action would be taken against the contractor based on the report, he said.

A senior municipal official, who did not want to be named, told The Hindu that officials were reluctant to take up re-carpeting on this stretch and the municipal corporation engineers too objected to it. But this work was approved under pressure from councillor and the BJP leader Ishwar Mallappa Sanikoppa.

‘To a relative'

Rs. 15 lakh was sanctioned for the work, which was tendered to Mr. Sanikoppa's close relative.

The official alleged that the BJP leaders and councillors wanted to take up maximum number of works as it was the last year of their tenure. They put pressure on officials to approve works even if they were not feasible; the Jannat Nagar incident was a classic example, the official added.

Tata Motors operationalises Karnataka plant

Dharwad: Automobile major Tata Motors said Wednesday that its new unit in Dharwad, Karnataka, has started operations and would manufacture commercial vehicle models like the Ace Zip and Magic Iris.

"We are very delighted to commence manufacturing operations in Dharwad and further expand our operations in the country," declared P.M. Telang, managing director of India operations, adding that the move was integral to ensuring Tata Motors' dominant presence in the commercial vehicles market.

According to the company, the new plant, which has state-of-the-art equipment based on lean manufacturing principles, is spread over an area of 405 acres, and required an investment of over Rs.900 crore.

"Major capital outlay required for civil and plant work facility has been sourced from Europe, the US, South Korea, Japan and the best-in-class suppliers from India," the company said in a statement.

The plant has an initial production capacity of 90,000 units per year and provides for future expansion.

Badve Engg to set up 2 plants to make auto spares

BANGALORE, JUNE 6:
Auto parts maker Badve Engineering Ltd will set up two plants in Karnataka to supply components for Honda and Tata Motors.

In Kolar, the company is close to completing its plant that will manufacture parts like mufflers for Honda Motors. Similarly in Dharwad, the company will set up a plant l to cater to Tata Motors.

This plant will manufacture chassis for Tata Motors' four wheelers.

Talking to Business Line at the sidelines of GIM meet, Mr R. P. Bhalerao, GM- Material, Badve Engineering said: “We will leverage our expertise in our plants like Pant Nagar and Chakan and use it in these new plants.” Both these plants will create 300-350 jobs each, according to Badve officials.

The plant in Kolar has the capacity to manufacture 300,000-500,000 vehicles every month. Badve also will manufacture exhaust systems for motorcycle and four wheeler goods carriers, chassis and frame assembly for auto rickshaws, four wheeler goods carrier and motorcycles.

Two ambitious rail projects - proposed elevated rail corridor in Mumbai and a bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai - got a boost on Wednesday as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh finalised the targets for key infrastructure projects in PPP model in railways.

At a meeting with ministers and secretaries of key infrastructure ministries, it was decided to flag off the elevated rail corridor project for Mumbai suburban service with a total investment of Rs 20,000 crore in 2012-13.

The elevated rail corridor is crucial for Mumbai as it aims to give a faster service to daily commuters in the metropolis.

However, Railway Minister Mukul Roy was not present in the meeting. Chairman Railway Board Vinay Mittal attended the high-level meeting chaired by the PM.

It was also decided to finalise the action plan for the 500-km high-speed corridor from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, said railway sources. The project is estimated to cost about Rs 60,000 crore.

Known as bullet train project, the train is expected to run at 350 km per hour speed reducing the travel time to four hours between the two cities from seven hours by Duronto, the fastest train at present.

Bengaluru-Chennai and other Tier 2 cities

Also, Deccan Chronicle had reported on June 2 that a high-speed rail linking Bengaluru to Chennai and other Tier 2 cities will soon become a reality.

The project has been conceptualised in three phases — between Mysore and Chennai via Bengaluru, between Bengaluru and Belgaum via Davanagere and Hubli, and between Bengaluru and Gulbarga.

“A Japanese company which has already discussed the project with the State government is expected to submit its technical report in December which will be forwarded to the Union railway ministry for approval.

The project will be taken up on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The first phase of the project will cost Rs 1 lakh crore at a per km cost of Rs 200 crore,” says large and medium scale industries minister Murugesh R. Nirani.

It will take 2 hours to Chennai

Japan’s famous 'bullet trains' make commuting much faster between cities, and Karnataka is poised to provide a similar experience in collaboration with the Japanese government.

Travelling between Bengaluru and Chennai in a bullet train at a speed of 300-320 kmph will cut travel time drastically.

When the project is completed, it will take just two hours to travel from Mysore to Chennai via Bengaluru. Currently, it takes seven hours by Shatabdi, considered to be the fastest train in the country.

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Government is looking at over Rs 20,000 crore investments in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector in this year's two-day Global Investors Meet (GIM), which started here today.

"About 8,000 companies are participating in GIM 2012 and we are looking at over Rs 20,000 crore investments in MSME sector," a top government official said.

The meet was inaugurated by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

Best part of the current GIM is that many participants are cluster-based companies like plastic, packaging, machine tools, medical equipment, precision engineering, areospace and pharma among others, the official told reporters.

Companies from Mysore have committed an investment of Rs 12,000 crore and those from Belgaum Rs 2,000 crore, he said, adding Rs 4,000 crore investments would come from companies based in Hubli-Dharwad and Rs 1,000 crore from Dakshin Kannada district.

Industries in and around Bangalore have committed an investment of above Rs 5,000 crore, the official said.

Besides, there was good participation from states like Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha among others, an official, who declined to be quoted, said.

More than 30 countries including Italy, Japan, Mexico, UK Cannada, Taiwan and Germany, among others, are participating in the meet, the official said.

Some of the key participants in the expo are JSW Group, Honda two-wheelers, Grasim, Suzlon, Gail, Zuari Cements, SBI, Tata Motors, Toyota Motors, L&T, Indian Oil Company, HAL, NAL, DRDO, Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited.

ಸದ್ಯ ಒಬ್ಬ ಇನ್ಸಪೆಕ್ಟರ್, ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಿಎಸ್*ಐ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಪೇದೆ, 9 ಪೇದೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪೇದೆ, 7 ಪೇದೆಯನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡ ಒಂದು ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು ಶ್ವಾನದಳ ಈ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಇನ್ಸಪೆಕ್ಟರ್, ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಿಎಸ್*ಐ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಎಚ್*ಸಿ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯುಪಿಸಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಿಸಿ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಉಳಿದವರಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯಲ್ಲ. ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು 10 ದಿನಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಶಿಫ್ಟ್*ನಂತೆ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ನಿಯುಕ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪರಿಣಾಮ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊರಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕಡತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ
ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ವಿಮಾನ ಹೈಜಾಕ್, ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕರ ಹಾವಳಿಯಂತಹ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳು ವ್ಯಾಪಕಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕದ ಸರಕಾರ, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನೇಮಕ ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಇರಲಿ, ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಕೂಡ ನಡೆಸಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ವಿಶ್ವಸನೀಯ ಮೂಲಗಳು ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿವೆ.

ಒಬ್ಬ ಇನ್ಸಪೆಕ್ಟರ್, ಮೂವರು ಪಿಎಸ್*ಐ, ಐವರು ಎಎಸ್*ಐ, 12 ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪೇದೆ, 4 ಮಹಿಳಾ ಪೇದೆ, 30 ಪೇದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ನಿಯುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು ಅವಶ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಈ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರ ಕಡತಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಆಯುಕ್ತರೂ ಅಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.

ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಮೂಲ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಶಸ್ತ್ರಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನಿಡುವ ಕೊಠಡಿ ಅವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ವೆಪನ್ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಸಹ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ಕೊಠಡಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳಿರಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ನಿಯಮವಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳಿದ್ದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ. ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲೊಂದು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕೊಠಡಿ, ಶೌಚಾಲಯವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಹಿಡಿದ ಕನ್ನಡಿ.

ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ಇಲ್ಲ
ಗೋಕುಲ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ 600 ಎಕರೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ರಕ್ಷಕರ ಕೊರತೆ ಜತೆಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಕ್ರಮಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ತಂತಿ ಬೇಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಿದ್ದು, ಕಂಪೌಂಡ್ ಗೋಡೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಮಾರಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂದಿ, ದನ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಹಾಕುವುದೂ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯ ಕೆಲಸವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೊಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲು ಜನರು ರನ್*ವೇನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಹಾಕಲು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪರದಾಡಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೇ, ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳ ಅನೈತಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ತಾಣವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಗಂಭೀರಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಪಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕಂಪನಿಗೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆಯಾದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚಾರ ಸುಗಮ ಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಖೆಗೆ ತಲೆನೋವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿದೆ.

ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೇರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವತ್ತ ಸರಕಾರ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಸರಕಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒತ್ತಡ ಹೇರುವುದು ಅತ್ಯವಶ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.


ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ
ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸುವಂತೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರಕಾರ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಕೆಲ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

HUBLI: After touring Bangalore, Tumkur, Kolar, Davangere and some other cities, Soap Sante has now entered Hubli.

The Sante, organized by the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), will be held for a week from June 7 to June 13 at Gujarat Bhavan, Deshpande Nagar in Hubli, said Shivananda Naik, chairman of KSDL.

District minister Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the event. All 38 products of KSDL will available at the Sante, at a reasonable price, he said. "Soap Sante received overwhelming response in Bangalore and other cities. In Hubli it is expected to fetch Rs 30 to 40 lakh business," he said.

Along with Mysore Sandal Soap, many other products like New Mysore Sandal Millennium soap, talcum power and detergent soaps will be available at the Sante. KSDL has tied up with Bharath Petroleum, Indian Oil Corporation, and other companies to promote the products.

The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the State are all set to get a shot in the arm at the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2012 with entrepreneurs committing to pump in over Rs 20,000 crore investment to give a fillip to the sector.

The State government, which has been stating that MSME would be considered as a priority sector in the latest edition of Karnataka’s investment festival, is expecting investment commitments of Rs 12,000 crore in Mysore region, Rs 5,000 crore in Bangalore, Rs 4,000 crore in Hubli and Dharwad, Rs 2,000 crore in Belgaum and Rs 1,000 crore in Dakshina Kannada region.

The investment would go in for expansion of existing units or setting up new ones. In all, as many as 8,000 units will benefit, sources in the industries department said on the sidelines of the inaugural of the GIM Expo 2012, on Wednesday.

A formal announcement in this regard is expected to be made by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda at the inaugural function of the two-day GIM 2012 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) here on Thursday.

The Horticultural Producers' Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society (HOPCOMS) will open 20 new fruit and vegetable outlets in the city.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, Karnataka Horticulture Federation (KHF) president Ishwarchandra Hosmani said Minister for Horticulture S.A. Ravindranath would symbolically conduct the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the Shivagiri outlet here.

Funding

He said the KHF provided financial support of Rs. 4 lakh for each of the outlets. Work would be completed and the outlets, which would have modern storage facilities and spot billing facility, would open for business in four months. The outlets would sell quality produce at competitive prices, he said.

HOPCOMS would open 20 outlets in Dharwad this year and 40 outlets in Hubli next year. The Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation had provided land on lease to set up the outlets, and the HOPCOMS was ready to open outlets in new localities provided the HDMC gave it land.

A target of setting up 150 outlets in Hubli-Dharwad had been set and if land was provided, the KHF was ready to fund them, Mr. Hosmani said.

Organic produce

To a query, Mr. Hosmani said that though there were no immediate plans to open separate outlets for the organic produce, HOPCOMS would arrange for organic counters at its outlets if farmers wished to market organic products at the HOPCOMS outlets. Only organic produce that had been tested and verified by the HOPCOMS officials would be allowed to be sold at the organic counters, he said.

The Hubli Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) has come under the scanner for allegedly not cooperating with the Karnataka Horticulture Federation (KHF) to set up a state-of-the-art cold storage-cum-procurement chamber on its premises in Hubli.

KHF chairman Ishwarchandra Hosmani has alleged that a scheme to set up a cold storage-cum-procurement chamber for the benefit of farmers in Hubli was not materialising owing to the lack of cooperation by the Hubli APMC.

‘No response'

Replying to a query at a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Hosmani said it had been one-and-a-half years since the KHF had mooted a plan to set up a cold storage-cum-procurement chamber for vegetables with a capacity of 20 tonnes. “We asked for a minimum of two acres at the APMC yard in Hubli, and we have set aside a grant of Rs. 40 lakh for the purpose. But the APMC authorities have not responded,” he said.

Regretting the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the APMC authorities, he said the KHF had even offered to buy the land at market price or take it on lease at the market rent prices, but all pleas had been in vain. “It is sad that I could not set up this facility in my home district though I succeeded in providing similar facilities for the farmers of Bijapur and Bagalkot districts. In Bijapur the district administration gave two acres of land for free. Here, our own people are creating hurdles,” Mr. Hosmani said.

Cold war

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the cold storage project is getting delayed owing to the cold war between rival groups in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Sources in the BJP say that Mr. Hosmani and the majority of the APMC members belong to rival factions.

“In the beginning, Mr. Hosmani identified himself with the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, while the APMC members belonged to the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Jagadish Shettar's faction. Hence, the APMC members did not cooperate with Mr. Hosmani,” the sources said.

ಇಂಥ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೂಲ ಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ವಿಶ್ವ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ನಡೆಸಲು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಮುಂದಾಗಿರುವುದಾದರೂ ಯಾವ ಪುರುಷಾರ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ಎಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಬೂದಿಹಾಳದಿಂದ ನೀರು
ಬೈಲಹೊಂಗಲ ತಾಲೂಕು ಬೂದಿಹಾಳ ಬಳಿ ಮಲಪ್ರಭಾ ಹಿನ್ನೀರು ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಜಾಕ್*ವೆಲ್*ನಿಂದ ಬೇಲೂರು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಸಾಹತು ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಸರಬರಾಜು ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಯೋಜನೆಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಐದು ಎಂಜಿಡಿ ನೀರು ವಿತರಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅದರ ಶೇ. 10ರಷ್ಟು ಕೂಡ ಪೂರೈಕೆಯಾಗದೆ ಇರುವುದು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇದು ಇಂದು, ನಿನ್ನೆಯ ಕತೆಯಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎದುರಿಸಲೇಬೇಕಾದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿದು. ಇಂಥದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವಾ ಮಿನರಲ್ಸ್ ಕಂಪನಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯ 10 ಲಕ್ಷ ಲೀಟರ್ ನೀರು ಸರಬರಾಜು ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಸರಕಾರ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟರ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿ?

ಬೇಲೂರು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಸಾಹತು ಅಥವಾ ಧಾರವಾಡ ಗ್ರೋಥ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್*ಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನೀವು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಹೋಟೆಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾದರೂ ತಿನ್ನಲೇಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಚಹ ಆದರೂ ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ದಾಹ ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನು...?
ಬೂದಿಹಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಕ್*ವೆಲ್ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬೇಲೂರುವರೆಗೆ ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್ ಅಳವಡಿಸುವಾಗಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೇಕಾಬಿಟ್ಟಿ ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್ ಬೆಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀರು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀರಿನ ರಭಸಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್ ಸೋರಿಕೆಯಾಗುವುದು ಸಹಜವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ 2.5 ಎಂಜಿಡಿ ನೀರು ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಕೆಐಎಡಿಬಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೇ ವಾರಕ್ಕೆರಡು ಬಾರಿ ನೀರು ಪಂಪ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರಿನ ಪೂರೈಕೆ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿದರ್ಶನವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೂದಿಹಾಳ ಬಳಿ ಇರುವ ಮಲಪ್ರಭಾ ಹಿನ್ನೀರು ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಬರಿದಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೊರತೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸುವ ಬದಲು ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೇರೆ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಸರಿಯೆ?

ಮೊದಲು ಮನೆ ಸರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕ ದೇಶ ಕಟ್ಟಲು ಹೋಗುವುದು ಜಾಣರ ಲಕ್ಷಣ. ಆದರೆ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವೀಧರ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಚಿವರು ಮೂಲ ಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ಕೊಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ವಿಶ್ವಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಲು ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ಅನೇಕ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮಿಗಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ.


ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಟೆಂಡರ್
ಬೇಲೂರು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಸಾಹತು ಮತ್ತು ಧಾರವಾಡ ಗ್ರೋಥ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್*ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ನೀರು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಮಂಡಳಿ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಿರುವ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ 2.5 ಎಂಜಿಡಿ ನೀರು ಬೇಕು. ಬೂದಿಹಾಳ ಜಾಕ್*ವೆಲ್*ನಿಂದ ವಾರಕ್ಕೆರಡು ಬಾರಿ ನೀರು ಲಿಫ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ತಲೆದೋರಿರಬಹುದು. ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್*ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೋಷ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪೈಪ್*ಲೈನ್ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೆ 1.2 ಕೋಟಿ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಟೆಂಡರ್ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಾರದೊಳಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಅದು ಸರಿಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಬಗೆಹರಿಯಲಿದೆ.

Kannada Bhavan to be completed in two months

HUBLI: Construction of a convention centre and Kannada Bhavan in Hubli is in the final stage and is expected to be completed in another two months.

Under the second edition, action plans for 345 works were approved by the government and the administration has given nod for 310 works. So far, tender process for Rs 43 crore works has been completed and works worth Rs 20 crore have been completed. On March 31, the government released another Rs 23 crore and the administration aims at completing 90 per cent works in March 2013,he added.

Upgradation of internal roads, development of graveyard and improving cultural infrastructure have been on the agenda. The administration officials, HDMC and the PWD officials have visited various areas regularly to check the quality, the DC said.

The Karnataka government has unveiled a special initiative called Karnataka ICT Group (KIG 2020) to accelerate growth of the information, communication and technology (ICT) industry, about which TOI reported earlier this week.

At the inaugural session, chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda said the state has set up a new body which has a mandate to take ICT export revenues from the current $25 billion to $70 billion and also to create 14 lakh new jobs over the current base of over 8 lakh by 2020.

The KIG 2020 Group will set up multiple ICT incubation centres across the state to promote an entrepreneurship culture. The target is to incubate 1,000 tech entrepreneurs over the next eight years.

"Bangalore/Karnataka has the highest concentration of ICT business outside of Silicon Valley in the US, but we're yet to create a culture of entrepreneurship. We need to incubate hundreds of entrepreneurs, each one can develop an enterprise and each enterprise can offer jobs for hundreds and thousands of jobs," said T V Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal Global Learning, who will head this group.

Among other members are Prof S Sadagopan, director IIIT-B, BV Naidu, former director of Software Technology Parks of India and serial entrepreneur Sumit Ghosh. The group will work towards enabling the state to aggressively invest in developing secondary cities like Hubli, Dharwad, Mangalore, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Mysore and Shimoga. The group's first meeting is scheduled for June 9.

Hubli seems poised to be the next favourite IT destination after Bengaluru in the state as a number of investors came out with proposals to build tech parks and IT infrastructure in the town at GIM-2012.

The state government has been taking a special interest in the development of the automobile industry, minister for medium and large industries, Murugesh R Nirani, said on Thursday. He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Manufacturing: Focus on Engineering and Automotive Industry’ at the Global Investor’s Meet (GIM).

Nirani said the government had been offering infrastructure to the automobile sector’s growth, including at Narsapura industrial area in Kolar district, which is the upcoming automotive hub. He said that the industrial area was spread over 685 acres and the government was planning to allocate another 1,300 acres to it.
Nirani said that the government had decided to set up dedicated auto zones at Ramanagar, Shimoga, Hubli and Dharwad along the Suvarna Karnataka Development Corridor. He said currently, the state had auto clusters at Hoskote, Bidadi and Dharwad, and an industrial valve cluster at Hubli-Dharwad, besides auto-component clusters in Shimoga and Belgaum.

He said the state government had been taking steps to facilitate the automobile sector’s growth. He said the government was offering a special package for investment of more than Rs250 crore. Also, he said, special packages had been extended to many medium- and largescale projects the in auto sector in the state.

“The government has been offering investment promotion subsidy to small and medium enterprises, exemption of stamp duty and concessional registration charges, refund of conversion penalty, exemption from entry tax, incentives for export-oriented units, interest-free loans and VAT for large and mega projects,” he said.

Urban Development Minister S. Suresh Kumar will inaugurate Unkal Lake Park here on Saturday. It has been developed at a cost of Rs. 8 crore.

Deputy Commissioner Darpan Jain told presspersons on Friday that the State government had released special grants for the purpose.

Mr. Jain said the development of the park, which began in 2010, was taken up in four phases and the works included development of a tank bund, embankment, construction of deck pavilions, gazeboes and jetty for water sports and other facilities. “We have an amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 600,” he said. The entire area would be illuminated and two toilet blocks had been constructed for visitors.

Walkers' trail

Mr. Jain said a one-km-long pathway was available for walkers, apart from the 750 metres of bund area.

Visitors would get a better view of the lake from the two deck pavilions with canvas roofing. Water sports would start in another week. “It would be on a public-private partnership model , but we will decide the fares for the rides,” he said. A food court too would come up.

He said that sewage from Unkal area had been diverted to prevent it from entering the lake, and the work in Navanagar area was under way. “It will be completed in six months,” he said.

Mr. Jain said the administration would take steps to clear the clogging of the underground drainage network in the Renukanagar area.

Hubli-Dharwad Mayor Pandurang Patil was present.

ಜೂ.9ರಂದು ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿರುವ ಉಣಕಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿನ ಪೂರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ಉಣಕಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಾನ, ನೃಪತುಂಗ ಬೆಟ್ಟ, ಇಂದಿರಾಗಾಜಿನ ಮನೆ, ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಕೆ.ಸಿ.ಪಾರ್ಕ್, ಸಾಧನಕೆರೆ ಉದ್ಯಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳು ಸುಮಾರು 70 ಸಾವಿರ ಜನತೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಾರದ ಕೊನೆಯ ದಿನ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 20 ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

2008ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡ ಉಣಕಲ್ ಕೆರೆ ಉದ್ಯಾನ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಜತೆಗೆ ಕೆಲಗೇರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನವಲೂರು ಕೆರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ 10 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಮೀಸಲಿರಿಸಿದೆ. ಉಣಕಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ವಾರದಿಂದ ಪೆಡಲ್ ಬೋಟ್, ವಾಟರ್ ಸ್ಕೂಟರ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಜಲ ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಉಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿವಿಧ ರೀತಿಯ ಜಲ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ಇದೆ.

ಉಣಕಲ್ ಕೆರೆ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಉದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನವೀನ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಪಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯಾನದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ದ್ವಾರದ ಬಳಿ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಪಾರ್ಕಿಂಗ್*ಗೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಿರಂತರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಯಲು ರಂಗಮಂದಿರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶೌಚಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆರೆ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಉದ್ಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುವವರಿಂದ 10 ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ 5 ರೂ. ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಸಂಗ್ರಹಗೊಂಡ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಯಾನದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 8.30ರ ವರೆಗೆ ವಾಯುವಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಪ್ರವೇಶವಿದೆ. ಶಾಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಯೋಚನೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಉಣಕಲ್ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಕೆರೆ ಎಡಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ದೋಭಿ ಘಾಟ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾನುವಾರು ಮೈತೊಳೆಯಲು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಉದ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಆಟಿಕೆ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಷಯಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಬಳಿಯ ತೋಳನಕೆರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಲಗೇರಿ ಕೆರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜಯನಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ನುಗ್ಗಿಕೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ಭರದಿಂದ ಸಾಗಿವೆ. ಕೋಳಿಕೆರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನವಲೂರ ಕೆರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೆರೆಗೆ ಸೇರುವ ಚರಂಡಿ ನೀರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಣಕಲ್ ಕೆರೆ ಹೂಳು ತೆಗೆಯುವ ಯೋಚನೆಯೂ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಡಿಸಿ ಜೈನ್ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ ಆಮೆಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಧಾರವಾಡ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಇದೀಗ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಗರ ಬಡಿದಿದೆ...!

ಹೌದು, ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಳಿದುಳಿದಿರುವ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಯಂಚಿಗೆ ತಲುಪುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆಡಳಿತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹದಗೆಡುವ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ತಲುಪಿದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 2498 ಮಂಜೂರಾತಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ.30ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂದರೆ, 668 ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳು ಖಾಲಿ ಇವೆ. ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 52 ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು , ಮೇ ನಲ್ಲಿ 36 ನೌಕರರು, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್*ನಲ್ಲಿ 14 ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾರ್ಚ್*ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ನೌಕರರು ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು, ಒಬ್ಬರು ಉಪ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು, 8 ಜನ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತರು, 8 ಜನ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ದರ್ಜೆ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತರು, ಒಬ್ಬರು ಹಿರಿಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ, ಮೂವರು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಚಮನ್, ಪೌರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ 80 ಜನ ನೌಕರರು ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದುವವರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 450 ಪೌರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 615 ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದ್ದು , ಈ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇದೀಗ 668ಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿದೆ. ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ, ಉಪ ಮುಖ್ಯ ವೈದ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ, ತಜ್ಞ ವೈದ್ಯರು, ನಗರ ಯೋಜನೆ ಉಪ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಕಾನೂನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ಕಿರಿಯ ಅಭಿಯಂತರರು, ಪರಿಸರ ಅಭಿಯಂತರ, ಸರ್ವೇ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು, ನಿರ್ಮಲೀಕರಣ ಹಿರಿಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಔಷಧ ಮಿಶ್ರಕ, ಈಜು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ, ಈಜು ತರಬೇತುದಾರ, ಎಕ್ಸರೇ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞ , ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ, ವಾಹನ ಚಾಲಕರು, ಸಹಾಯಕ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್*ಗಾರ, ಆಯಾ, ನಿರ್ಮಲೀಕರಣ ಜಮಾದಾರ, ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕರು, ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪಿ , ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತ, ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ದರ್ಜೆ ಗುಮಾಸ್ತ, ಮೋಜಣಿದಾರ, ಟೈಪರೈಟರ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾಲಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಿವೆ.

ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಮೂರ*್ನಾಲ್ಕು ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯೇ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳೆಂಟು ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವಂತಹ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಲುಪುವ ಆತಂಕ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ.

ನೇಮಕಕ್ಕೆ ನಕಾರ
ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ 1979ರಲ್ಲಿ ನೌಕರರನ್ನು ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮತ್ತೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ 99 ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಂಜೂರಾಗಿದ್ದ 2,498 ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 615ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನೌಕರರು ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವರ್ಷಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವವರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಒಟ್ಟು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವರ್ಷದ ಅಂತ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಅರ್ಧದಷ್ಟು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸೇವೆಯಿಂದ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಬೇರೆ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡದ ಕಾರಣ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ನಾಲ್ಕೈದು ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಭಾಯಿಸುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಹತ್ತಾರು ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಭಾಯಿಸುವಂಥ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.

ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಎಫ್*ಡಿಸಿ, ಎಸ್*ಡಿಸಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 47 ಜನರನ್ನು ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪೌರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಪೌರಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಎಫ್*ಡಿಸಿ, ಎಸ್*ಡಿಸಿ, ಪೌರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಂತಹ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೌಕರರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಾಲ ನೂಕುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗೆ, ಉನ್ನತ ಹಂತದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೌಕರರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಆಡಳಿತದ ವೇಗ ಕುಂಠಿತಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ನರ್ಮ್ ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬೃಹತ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಮೈಸೂರು, ಗುಲ್ಬರ್ಗಾ, ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದೇ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನೇಮಕಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಆಡಳಿತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ನಿಂತನೀರಾಗುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಶಂಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಜಾರಿಯಾಗದ ಸಿಸಿಎ ಯೋಜನೆ
ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನೇಮಕ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಲು ಸರಕಾರ ಕಾಮನ್ ಕೇಡರ್ ಅಥಾರಿಟಿ (ಸಿಸಿಎ) ಎಂಬ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟವೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಜಾರಿಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ನೇಮಕ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವಿಳಂಬವಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಬಂಪರ್ ಬೆಳೆ ತಂದಿದೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯೋದ್ಯಮ ಸಂಘದ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಧಾರವಾಡ ಭಾಗದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಕಲೆಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ!

`ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಯಾಗಿ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ರೋಡ್*ಶೋ ಸಂದರ್ಭ 4,000 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಹೂಡಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಜೊತೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಒಪ್ಪಂದಗಳು ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಭಾಗದ ಅಂದಾಜು 35 ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ದೊರೆಯಲಿದೆ.

ಇಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಬಂಡವಾಳವನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಸಂಘದ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಗದ ಸದಸ್ಯರೇ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ` ಎಂದು ಸಂಘದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ವಸಂತ್ ಎನ್. ಲದ್ವಾ ಅವರು `ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ`ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

`ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಲಿರುವ 35 ಸಾವಿರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದಾಜು ಎಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜನರಿಗೇ ಲಭಿಸಲಿದೆ. ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಆಗಲಿದೆ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಸಣ್ಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಲಿದೆ. ಬೃಹತ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಲಯ ಕೂಡ ಗಣನೀಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ` ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ರೋಡ್*ಶೋ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಹುರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು. ಕೃಷಿ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳು, ಆಹಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಕರಣಾ ಘಟಕಗಳು, ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್, ಆಟೊಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಮತ್ತಿತರ ವಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಆಗಲಿದೆ.

ಸಣ್ಣ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಬೃಹತ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಲಯದ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲು ಕೆಲವು ಸಮಯ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ತಲೆ ಎತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಪೈಕಿ 523 ಎಕರೆ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಶದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಶಾಭಾವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

ವಿಶೇಷ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ವಲಯ: ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ವಲಯವನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುವ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೂಡಿಕೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಈ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ.

Idyllic lakes and gardens allure people in twin cities

HUBLI: Hubli and Dharwad are fast emerging as garden cities, with idyllic lakes and beautiful parks dotting them. Thanks to district administration's initiatives, several lakes in the twin cities have got a facelift in the last one year and adding to the exciting list is the Unkal Lake, which will be thrown open to the public on Saturday.

Realizing the need for tourist spots in the twin cities, the district administration started renovation of lakes and beautification of gardens in the twin cities. As a result, Sadhanakere, Kittur Chennamma park and Kelegare lake in Dharwad have been rejuvenated with facilities like lawns, fountains and seating. Glass house and Nrupatunga Betta in Hubli too have got a facelift with all recreational facilities.

Thanks to special grants of Rs 100 crore sanctioned by the government and concerted efforts by the district administration, the landscape of the twin cities has changed in the last few months.

People, who earlier preferred to go to surrounding places to spend weekends are now finding alluring spots in Hubli and Dharwad that promise an exciting holiday. "Earlier we used to travel to nearby places for a family outing but now we visit either Glass House or Nrupatunga Betta during weekends," said Amresh Patil, an employee of a private firm. Speaking to TOI, Darpan Jain, deputy commissioner said, "Our main objective is to provide good recreational facilities for people. There are plans to revive Tolankere and Jayanagar lakes in Hubli and Dharwad respectively."

Nearly 60,000 people visit these spots monthly. To maintain the gardens and lakes, the administration is charging Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children as entrance fees, he added.

Serene environs

The revived Unkal lake will be inaugurated on Saturday. It is ready with a new look. The district administration has created embankment, developed landscape including a beautiful lawn, unique gazebo and deck pavilion by using canvas roofing. There is an open air theatre with 600 seating capacity. According to sources, Rs 8 crore has been spent to develop the lake.

Adrenaline rush for autocross lovers

DHARWAD: After a long gap of four decades, citizens of Dharwad will get to see cars and motorcycles zooming in high speed with the Bangalore-based VASA Autosports organizing the autocross for two-wheelers and four-wheelers in Dharwad on June 10.

It was in late seventies that the citizens of Dharwad had an opportunity to see world class racers zooming past the city as part of the London-Sydney Car race.

President of VASA Autosports Ashok Kumar Tiwari and Ravindra Chougale of RCB Lubes, Dharwad, who is supporting the event said on Thursday that from the four round state-level championship, the first round concluded in Bangalore on May 13, and the Dharwad round-2 is schedule on 10 June. The remaining two rounds shall be in post monsoon in Shimoga, Tumkur, Mysore or Bangalore.

With 70 two-wheelers and 40 four-wheelers participants from across Karnataka being part of this round, it shall be the first of its kind event in the district. While the two-wheelers will be mass start, cars will be individually timed. For the first time, Dharwad will witness women drivers participating in such events.

In two-wheelers the tough fight will be between last year champion Madhu.S, Naresh VS, Basheer from Bangalore and Tanveer from Mysore.

In four wheelers the tough competition shall be between last year champion Baban Khan, RD Patel, Shabbir and Suhem Kabir in the professional class.

This 450 mts long track will have many curves with a good stretch to try out maximum speed and the riders capability.
