All of these pics were taken on November 30, 2008. I wanted to take these pics to show the pretty changes happening to the trees around here. A lot of people don't realize that we get a change of seasons in places as far south as Orlando, Florida.

OK so we don't really get winter here, but we do get a definite Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Hope you enjoy!

Nice photos. O-Town's skyline is really starting to get "meaty". The pics with the cypress changing color are "painterly" looking. We've had a good bit of color up here in NFL. I don't know if the trees here would change color as well if planted down there. We have ash (golden yellow), Golden Rain trees, Red Maple, turkey oak, persimmon, assorted fruit trees, sweetgum (deep red), assorted hollies, etc. It's really pretty here this time of year, esp along roadsides and lakes that haven't been planted over in pine. I would take some pics and post them but I'm too lazy!

Likely because it has gotten colder earlier in the season than most years.

Nice pictures of downtown Orlando. We get really nice fall color up here in Gainesville. Seems like it peeks around Thanksgiving every year. Also noticed some decent color over in the Tampa Bay area while we were there for the holiday weekend. Cooler temperatures along with a little rain has made for some nice color this year.

Yeah it's definitely gotten more colorful earlier than last year. it's because we had a relatively below-average November and a lot of rainfall.

I live north of G'ville. You kinda have to go out into the countryside to see the leaves changing in a significant amount. I drove down to G'ville last Sunday afternoon taking a back road and it was really pretty. All of the old growth hardwood areas were lit up in mostly yellows, oranges, and some reds. The pastures and fields ringed by forest areas were pretty because you got an unobstructed view of the maples and sycamores changing color. State parks are also a great place to visit (such as O'Leno) as well as rural areas of the Panhandle. Unfortunately, I think we've past peaking and the leaves are dropping off. Of all the small towns in the area, I think Main street in Alachua is the prettiest by far this time of year. You have all of those old, quaint storefronts with pear trees planted in front of them and their leaves have turned red in color. Plus, Alachua decorates early for Christmas, so Main is particularly picturesque. High Springs and White Springs (Stephen Foster Park) are also nice.
