Interesting with the overhangs, however the rest is annoying and appeared in too many photos of Sydney in the past, thank God it's now covered up by bigger and generally better buildings.

hey its my building! ive worked in this sonofabitch for past 16 years!lol
it was designed NOT to overpower the protected nearby heritage structures-Town hall & St Andrews. It was designed by Public works and was restricted in form & design, so its just a functional offices for council. Its an ok brutalist bldg.

The worst building in all of Sydney! If you can't demolish it, at least renovate the ugly piece of crap! Whenever I walk past, I can't help but despise such a pretentious monstrocity. I demand a demolition, or AT LEAST, a renovation! Bare in mind though folks, this isn't the Town Hall building of Sydney, thank God. We have a much more grander 19th Century building for that which can be seen in the third pic.

I'd give it a failing grade if it were a class assignment.

7/10 First thing that came to mind was Germany in the 1930's. Where is this located? I don't remember seeing this when I was there a couple of years ago. Must have blocked it from my memory.

Reminds me of something from the Soviet Union... maybe like one of those old communist headquarter buildings in Kaliningrad.

How could they have built this monstrosity in the otherwise elegant Sydney Square precinct. Instead of tearing down Woolworths, etc, to make a public square across the street, why not remove this hideousness of the 70's and return Sydney Square to what is was intended for. The beautiful Town Hall and St Andrew's Cathedral is blighted by this cancer.

I used to walk past it sometimes, and I always hated going past it. I prefer a Soviet style commieblock to this building! It's definitely my least favourite building in all of Sydney.

quite a diversity on buildings over there in sydney, personally, i don´t like it too much, but this one adds eclecticism to the city

brutalism is very under rated, one day, brutalism will enter the world heritage list j/k
