I think these are absolutely fantastic.

I'm always so very impressed with these models. When we see the local model's in our city we wonder at the luck of the jammy sods that actually earn a living from doing something they so very much enjoy!

thanks again guys!
The models i make are basically made from solid timber (gelutong) or custom wood (MDF). I use ZAP super glue and add small plastic stips for details (balconies or columns).I sometimes clad the solid core with 1mm plywood or styrene.
I shape the bldgs with firstly bandsaw and then large sanding disc. Also use stanley knife and sand paper. Its basically alot of carpentry. we then paint the models with prima and car duco.
Some models take long (some cathedrals took a month) while others are quick.
cheers

All your models and drawings are superb, you obviously have a great deal of passion and pride in what you do and it shows. Apart from that your extremely knowledgable and it seems to me you could quote the height for hundreds of skyscrapers of the top of your head!

What, did some architect/developer see something in your diagrams/models that they felt was a breach of copyright or some such thing? I got a nasty email not that long ago from a developer who told me I was making "libelous remarks" about his company in one of my posts and threatened legal action. :| I informed him in a reply email to calm down and stop picking on the little guy. ;)

Might be time to show your fans what you have done lately with the City of Sydney model, Cul. Remember the old adage: if you've got it, flash it.
For all you poor folk out there who don't live in Sydney, I usually drop into the display of the model in the Sydney Council Building, behind the Town Hall, at least once a month to keep an eye on the progress of the city, and of Cul's Amazing work.
The only thing I have seen to equal it in any way is the model of London in the Building Centre in London though I doubt the London model is the work essentially of one man.
