My latest hobby. I've done about 100 so far, and am still making more.

Materials: Play dough of various colours, toothpicks, needles, penknife, rolling pin

References: I try to get floor plans and features from books to build up a rough estimate of its key features.

Advantages: Play dough is soft and pliable and can be resculpted if there is a mistake. Simple shapes can be created quickly. Kid's stuff.

Disadvantages: Facade details are lost. Sensitive to heat; taller models need internal supports (ice-cream sticks). Greasy.

Scale: 1:2038

They look great. And very time consuming.:)

Try refrigerating it, and then cutting it with a hot wire, like that of a wire cheese cutter, or with an exacto knife that has been heated.

Great suggestions!

I suppose those will make the sculpting process cleaner.

I'm a little lazy though..and in Singapore keeping them cold permanently can be a challenge!:D

Its just for fun anyways:cheers:

That's a 10 for the effort alone.

You must be buying that stuff by the kilo I guess. It's looking great though. The Play Dough gives the entire collection a characteristic expression.

Tops! Most of them are very recognizable. Because they are not straight and perfect models, and because there are so many together, makes this a very cute and amazing collection!

lol! Very good! A very colourful and fun idea!

( This is not the 'play dough' we use with kids though is it ? ....made with flour...? )

Thanks everyone!:)

@Molly and shaun, NO No! Please please! Do not eat at all costs!
This IS play dough (aka plasticine), not jello! You will get very sick if you tried to eat it.

Well I'm not sure what the doctor would think if you said you ate the Empire State Building...:D

They look great! Looks like it took some time too!

If you ever feel like a young kid again, just open up that case and start eating the skyscrapers! They will have a salty taste! ;)
