Im from Melbourne and even i hate it, give it back to Sydney where is belongs.
Seidler SUCKS
AG December 17th, 2003, 09:03 AM Sorry, but this one deserves the title of Melbourne's worst skyscraper. Too many blank spots and concrete, and not enough colour.
Tear it down FFS!

What more needs to be said?
One Seidler building in Melbourne is one too many.
2/10 for an unwanted Harry Seidler invasion. Just retire!!!!

TEAR IT DOWN!!!
Jasonhouse December 20th, 2003, 08:18 AM Eww. That building really is a Brutalist slab from the one angle there. The curves on the other facade are interesting, but they don't make up for that atrocious concrete.

TEAR IT DOWN!!!
All forumers in favour of this, meet outside Shell House at midnight tonight. Be sure to bring a sledgehammer and if you have any sort of explosives, bring them too!! After that, we can finally have unrestricted views of Melbourne's skyline. :D
We'd probably gather enough people to fill the MCG. ;)
Note that I am not encouraging any sort of terrorist activity
Aquarius December 20th, 2003, 01:15 PM it needs more windows or crystal, has very little color, single is

Nope, not a visual feast. Now I'm getting curious what else Seidler has done to the poor innocent people of Australia.

Though it isn't exactly exciting it still isn't a bad building.
DamienK August 19th, 2004, 09:57 PM 6.5/10. Mildly interesting.

Yardmaster August 23rd, 2004, 09:38 PM I hate to say it, but I agree with everyone else here (and I'm the ultimate renegade!).
At least it's curved on the corner, but it is indeed something Melbourne could do without. I'm not sure about the thing that's currently being erected on the next corner of Flinders st. either. The "Paris" end of town?

I like exposed concrete
SoboleuS June 10th, 2006, 11:13 PM The shape is quite nice but the facade is too brutal ;) 6/10
Valeroso June 12th, 2006, 02:19 AM I don't hate-hate it, but I don't necessarily love it by any means. I hate concrete, and I can't say I'm the biggest Siedler fan either, but I think this building is slightly interesting. I like it's shape, and I'm happy that it doesn't take brutalism to an extreme. However, Grollo's picture which invincible posted really shows the building in a less than glamorous light. Still, I think its OKAY, but could have been worse.
6/10
Brendan June 12th, 2006, 02:26 AM I actually quit like this building, but as someone earlier in this thread said, it should be in Sydney.
