BTW, I am sure there are more than one project going on in Sarajevo. Let's me gather my resources! ;)

Awsome job Sarajevo-City! :)

BTW, those pictures are awsome, yet it's really getting annoying the way that all the pictures that are taken in Sarajevo are when the weather is gloomy and boring...

Yeah great pictures from bosmal website, the adress is www.bosmal.com if somebody didn't know. But it's good that those pictures aren't just on bosmal site. And for the wether, today is sunny and great day, i think that they should make some updated photos.

I was wondering Blimmer, when do you think they will fix-up that government building? It's still fire-damaged, and it looks ugly! I heard they were going to make the building reconstructed with glass facade...Is that right? Also, have you heard of any projects other than the ones talked about here going on? I don't mean like offices, because there's alot of those, but more like large buildings? What's the deal with the third UNITEC? Nice pictures and hope to see more...Thank's...

[QUOTE=L3D3NI]Bimmer, can you tell me if you took this picture yourself?

No i didn't. It's a great picture and it was taken by one of Sarajevo's amatuer/professional photographers, there is a group of them which use newsgroups to post their picture and on of them even won the kodak picture of the month award and his picture was displayed on big screen on Times Square in NY. Most of them publish their photos in photo intermezo on Hayat television in Sarajevo.

I don't know when the project is about to start, i told you everything what i know about it which i read from the newspapers. I heard about austrian "mulitimedial" skyscreaper but i don't know when they are going to start building it. I think in spring of 2005.

They're going to replace the stones in bascarsija and build an underground parking complex to suit the old town and Ferhadija apparently. They're also going to reconstruct the base of the famous Sarajevo sebilj.

They want to make the whole old town a traffic free zone. Get rid of those annoying occasional cars that pass through ferhadija or next to the carsija. Plus some of the stones are kind of cracked.

Yes, some stones are cracked, but I really don't see the point of doing this project because of those small reasons...

I was just wondering, how many cars do you think pass by the old town? When I walk by, I hardly ever see any...

No, but I heard that the budget for 2005 is going to be ALOT more than 2004. BIH was mainly trying to fix the airport of Sarajevo for incomming tourists, which costed ALOT of money, but now it's complete, and we have alot more budget to spend on offices. As a matter of fact, it's believed that 15 new office projects are getting started early of 2005 for Sarajevo...

The city budget isn't commonly used to build offices because it is in private ownership. What they can do is assist private investors in building, but not build it themselves and commonly the amount of money given by the city to invest in the buildings is quite small.

The maximum passenger capacity is 1 million, but I'm pretty sure the number of actual visitors was siginificantly smaller because most airlines do not fly to Sarajevo. I know most of my friends when they go to Sarajevo, they either go to Budapest, Zagreb, or Belgrade and then rent a car and drive to BiH.

It's not that big of a deal, it's just the tallest building in the Balkans. I, as do many others, think that as a cool thing to have the tallest building in the Balkans...Except for that, I think it looks pretty cool and it's a large investment, that's bringing quite a bit of money...

You forgot about Usce. Usce is 120 m at least in height. But you can take the award as tallest residential building and first condominium high-rise in the Balkans, which is just as good.

Anyways, nice pictures and keep on finding more of them.

1. You are completely right. For the first part of the post.

2. Yes you are partialy right. Number of actual visitors is around 700000 and for september of this year it was 42805. So it's pretty close to 1 milion. For the second part of the post.

3. USCE is 120m with antena. It was upgraded, but it's core hight is 98 meters which is only thing which counts. Bosmal will have antenas and with them it will be around 140m. By all experts it's tallest building in balkans so read some info. And this is answer for the third part of your post.

Actually Usce has a ground floor which is 10 m and an upper floor which is 10 m. It has 25 floors in between these two areas with each floor having a height of 4 m. Therefore, (25 x 4) + 10 + 10 = 120 m. :)

Actually this was checked out by multiple people. The standard height of a floor in an office building is 4 m. If there are 25 floors, then there 100 m. Add in the 10 m for the upper floor and the 10 m for the ground floor and it works out. 98 m was for the very old design of the original CK before extra floors were added.

It's the most advanced residental building in this region with the use of only the most expensive and luxurios materials. With swimming pools for everyone using the building and swimming pools in apartments. Shoping malls and a lot of other stuff like super expensive lift from the same manufaturer who produced the elevators for the curently tallest building in world.

Updates haven't been made to the EUC website even though the design and height has been changed. The website still talks about the old design with the light blue glass and strange top. The last time the website was updated was in September 2003, but the changes to the design were made some time following that. Whatever the height may be, it surely isn't 98 metres seeing as how they added several floors to the existing structure.

Yes, I am 14 year's old, therefore I can not stay up all night in Sarajevo...

I was wrong by the rotating resurtant, but there is a restaurant getting built up there, and my uncle did say that...That is no lie.

Also, I know that some of the pictures have been seen before, but I just felt like posting them again, if that affends you too much, I'll stop! :(

It's nice to see 14 year old guy interested in these things. But you'll find out that everything doesn't have to be true.

Where did you learn to speak english?

BTW, have they sold or rented all those apartments in Bosmal towers? Do you know how much does cost 1 m2?

It's 1250 euros for private apartments and 2250 euros for commercial shops in shoping mall. But you have some discounts when you pay cash.
I think that they sold 70% of residental part and 60% of shoping mall part. I don't know for sure i heard that from bosmal officials before 1/2 year.

Yeah...I'm quite interested in architechure...I learned to speak English in school.

I understand that alot of the things being talked about in this forum are not true, that is why I said that my uncle told me panoramas were really going to be something on the top of the Bosmals...

I thought it was built later in "Eifel style", just like copy of Eifel tower in Prague.

Actually I'm pretty sure thats true. I always thoguht Eifel actually built it but I remember reading somewhere it was just "Eifel style". I think the Eifel building it thing is just a popular myth.

Exclusive business premises in the very center of the city, with two own car parks, capacity - 31 parking places (Branilaca Sarajeva street – “Vranica” d.d. headquarters)

LOCATION

The building of "VRANICA" d.d Sarajevo headquarters is situated at the address: 7, Branilaca Sarajeva street . The project is located opposite the Canton Court building, near the premises of the Health Protection institution "Saint Vinko Paulski" (previously, the building of "Veselin Masleša" school).

Through the existing passage you can go out to Marshal Tito street at the place of "Energopetrol" building, in the vicinity of the National Bank (Narodna Banka).

Map (http://www.vranica.com.ba/slike/prodaja-pp-lokacija.jpg)

DISPOSITION

Architecturally the building is planned as L-shaped project, one wing of which is parallel to Branilaca Sarajeva street (the southern wing) and another one is perpendicular to the said street (the western wing).

The southern wing has a groundfloor + 5 stories, whereas the western wing has a basement, groundfloor + 5 stories. The basement clear height is 2,40m, thus it can be used for differenet purposes, except as the public business area.

The southern and western wings are separated with an inner wall into two individual entireties.

The entrance to the southern wing is from the existing car park at the corner between two building wings. The vertical communication is carried out by means of 2-flight stair in whose mirror there is an elevator. On the groundfloor of the southern wing a separate entrance may be formed, i.e. at the corner towards “Amerikanac” restaurant, so that to provide the independent entrance for the eventual reception port or similar hall for the work with the clients.

The western wing has two entrances, that is: the entrance fromthe courtyard, from the two-storied car park and the entrance from the pavement of Branilaca Sarajeva street . From the courtyard the vertical communication is provided by means of the two-flight stair and the elevator. The entrance from the pavement has a staircase which leads to the groundfloor (operation hall, i.e. hall for the work with the clients), and according to the Buyer’s wish there is a possibility to lead the stair to the first floor where the directorate of the company will be located.

STRUCTURE

The vertical supporting structure consists of the horizontal walls 38 cm thick made of brick and stiffened with a sufficient number of cross brickwork walls. The horizontal supporting structure is a reinforced concrete small-ribbed ceiling slab, with RC beams.

The roof structure is wooden. The roffing is made of the galvanized sheets.

FACADE
The facade is a combination of some types of stone (granite, marble) and the classic plastered and painted facade surfaces finished with a high-grade silicate plaster STO - silco 1,5-2mm. The facade openings and windows are performed as the aluminum shapes (type GOLD 490), with an interrupted thermal bridge, glazed with TERMOPAN glass [glass pack] 4+12+4mm. The outer glass is a STOP-SOLE sun glass. The outer window sills are made of painted aluminum sheets. At the corner of the western wing, toward the street, there is a “hanging” Al -facade. The street parts of the facade, i.e. socle, prominent verticals between the window openings, as well as the finishing fascia above the last floor, are faced with a natural stone.

INTERIOR FINISH

The interior finish and room equipment depends on the type and purpose of the room concerned as per the Client’s’ requirements.

Fly Bosnia will offer unrivalled flexibility and very competitive fares to Sarajevo. Flights to Sarajevo will include a full in-flight service comprising good food, complimentary drinks, daily newspapers, hot towels and reserved seating. 30/11/04/Government plan to bring Air Bosna back to life

The government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided to accept a concept to bring Air Bosna back to life. The Air Bosna restruction plan was made by team of six aviation industry experts and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications.A brief statement issued by the FBH government saiys the expert team has presented an acceptable plan for the airline to purchase aircraft through financial leasing agreements.Earlier this year, Hypo Alpe Adria Bank offered a five million euro-loan to Air Bosna and the Government of FBIH for aircraft purchases and leases.

So, Air Bosnia is trying to come back to life by the government? Also, Hypo Alpe Adria Bank offered a five million euro-loan to Air Bosnia and the Government of FBIH for aircraft purchases and leases.
These news make me extremely happy...I wonder what's going to happen with it?

By the way, I see Zagreb and Sarajevo have the same local trains, made by Gangz, Hungary:

Of course that the old ones are still big majority on the tracks (i don't work for that company so i don't know have many new trams they have). These new ones are ment to drive on new tracks in Sarajevo because there is a major program of replacing old tracks with new ones. These new tracks are much better they offer more comfort and silent driving.
These new trams are acctualy constracted in SA as i found out. The electronics are from Siemens and suspension is made by Czech. They are called SATRA and they have all the bells and whistles of modern trams. They even have board computer(travel computers) and some systems for preventing them to get off tracks.

No they are assembled in GRAS main service station, they have some kind of small factory there (acctualy it's more like big service). They don't priduce the whole tram, just some parts, and majority of parts are from skoda and siemens. And for the other part it's not the former VW factory, the factory is producing VW cars (Skoda Fabia, GolfV, passat and caddy i think) but in small quantities.

Thats very interesting. Do you know what percentage of the tram would include parts made in Bosnia. Things like the interior would most likely be locally made, perhaps even parts of the trams body and motor?

I think you should visit Sarajevo and see it for yourself. Also you should speak with a lot of people but try to find some objectiv people because the situation is not too optimistic nor too pesimistic (and you can find both types of people), there are a lot of positive trends but it dependes in which part of country. Generaly in Sarajevo situatuion is improving and you can find good job. The social life here is something that people love the most.
So see it for yourself and decide for yourself, that's the best way. And of course the most important thing is what you want and desire.
