TV show cops. Ive always wondered why the faces of the people getting arrested aren't fuzzed out. Police 10-7 disguises those offenders in the show, are there no laws in America protecting the identity of the accused?

Anyone know how it works?

The Force on channel seven doesnt blur offenders either.

COPS is the best of the police shows.

Isn't Cops the oldest reality police show.

It seems that everyone that gets arrested on Cops is either a drug dealer, prostitute or wife beater.

Police 10-7 FTW!

NZ have the politist cops, and the crims are just dumbasses.

"Assault! Assault! You touched me officer... sorry..."

There was a protest in NZ about there not being enough Maori shows on prime time TV, and the CEO of TVNZ replied what about Police 10-7.

With the blanked out faces, I think the people have to sign consent. Maybe it differs from country to country. One thing they don't do in cops, that I like to see in other shows is where they tell you the outcome of the cases after they go to court.

hahahahaha

I dont really care what happens with the people on COPS. Most of the time they really are dead beats; plus its america so theyl probably get convicted, go to jail for a bit, come out again and then re offend.

Why would someone sign consent for being on cops? If it were me I would be covering my face or something. it doesnt make sense to me but who knows.

You never see white collar offenders on COPS. You do see a lot of abusive, dramatic COPS and some really stupid criminals. Drug laws in the US need to be modified. C'mon people going to jail for marijuana? That is just a waste of taxpayers money. Fines or legality would be a much better alternative.

I thing that the sting operations are unconstitutional. Entrapment is supposed to be illegal.

If you watch a few COPS's type TV shows including the good old originals, you will notice that there are quite a few times you will see peoples faces blotted out. The sad fact of the matter is that the yanks are eager beavers to get their moronic heads on TV no matter what it means.

And the TV show cops can either not use the footage or blur the faces. When you have that many places in the USA where they can film etc etc you can imagine why they have no trouble getting what they want.

A similar program in the UK had quite a bit more *blurred faces* as well as the NZ version.

You have to remember this show comes from a country of people all too willing to fight over a few hundred dollars to appear on Judge Judy (or equivalent) and be humiliated in front of 1/2 billion people.

I cant get enough of Police 10-7, not only is it based in my home country its such an inspiration. I want to join the Federal Police Force, Follow in the family footsteps, Brothers in the Army, relatives in the Dunedin police force and if everything pans out, the FPF should base me in Brisbane or Sydney.

I love COPS. I feel tough whenever I hear the theme music.

Maybe the criminals are happy to show their faces on TV? They don't seem to ever be the most intelligent people so they're probably excited by the prospect of having 15 minutes of fame...

The NZ's 'Motorway Patrol' was pretty funny - all the situations were lame and the police just seemed bored half the time. They were forever removing people that had broken down on the harbour bridge...

It's been going for nearly 20 years now.
The format hasnt changed at all. The theme music is still the same as in 1989

The most ridiculous and pathetic "crimes"

The biggest waste of time and effort ever especially when real crimes are being commited.

Yeah, total waste of time considering how many crimes are committed by people high on drugs.

There's no point in treating the symptoms if you're not going to do anything about the cause.
