Being born back In Mount "pleasure" haha, i was wandering what was going on back in my home town since i left a few years back. I have only had one oppurtunity to return and it was short lived so i didnt get a chance to see much of downtown or the rest of the metro. Any info would be appreciated! :)

I'm just getting around to seeing this thread.
There's a good bit going on in Charleston and the surrounding areas, but I'm most familiar with the developments for downtown and the Neck. The biggest development projects right now are Noisette (http://www.noisettesc.com/) and Magnolia (http://www.magnoliadevelopment.net/). A Hilton is planned for the old county library site on Marion Square. The old Cigar Factory (http://www.cigarfactorycharleston.com/) on East Bay is being redeveloped into a pretty cool mixed-use development. Carolina First Arena (http://carolinafirstarena.com/), the new home of CofC basketball, has been recently completed; the entrance is along Meeting Street. The Midtown (http://www.charleston.net/news/2008/feb/19/midtown_unveiled31081/) project is poised to transform upper King. One Cool Blow (http://www.onecoolblow.com/) on East Bay has been completed.
That's about all I can think of right now aside from smaller projects.

What's Charleston? ;) Al Gore says it's going to be under water soon so it doesn't exist.

If Al Gore says it's going to be underwater soon, that means tectonic thrust will render Charleston the highest city above sea level east of the Mississippi. Nothing in Gore's book is true.
