Excellent design I must say, I didn't expect to see another project in Dubai considering many other projects being effected by the global inferno of economy.

This is a quiete old project but it was on hold for ages. Now it seems that another contractor was found and they started with pilling.

The name is a bit dumb. But the design is awesome :)

wtf it looks so over 330m in the first render it looks more like 450-500m tall rather than 330m tall.

also it should 500m+ for the building to be named the skyscraper. but great design. they should supersize it to be 500m+

Compared to its surroundings, this building almost seems . . . normal! Certainly an interesting design for Dubai. Kinda reminds me of an exhaust tip on a car.

I hope this one will get real. In addition, it needs a new name.

If there is "The Tower" in Dubai, why not having also "The Skyscraper":):)

The design has potential. It can either look like a sleek, high quality building or could come out looking immensely tacky. I hope the former. :)

330 meter is not even something in Dubai it self! we will have at least 10 super talls taller than this one T/O before its done....maybe before it even start rising if it took long time!!

I just don't think it fits very well right at the beach. It's very corparative-looking and would look better in the middle of the CBD!

It was already said that is only a working title. A tower named The Tower is already existing along SZR.

nobody knows the completion date and even difficult to guess if you look their other towers almost impossible to say anything:)

Really? Just look at the pictures. The sloping dirt hill into the site has dissappeared. Mabye the excavators came and left between updates.

They will work a bit at the JLT now (Vue De Lac,Vista De Lago) , site office mobilisation started there so I think this one will be ON HOLD for years.

damn that's an incredible render if this tower looks any thing like the render then it's gonna add a lot of class to dubai's skyline(not that dubai's skyline doesn't have class but this would help any city's skyline). The only thing I don't like is the top but it's still sexy with two handle's up top.

They have 3 projects at the JLT and after 5-6 years still just holes:)

Site offices mobilisation was done last year but few months ago they left the site and I have heard it will be cancelled soon .

I'll change it into 'Prep' which stands for preparation works.

Actually ground work is more accurate then site prep, since the piling was already completed.

piling = foundations (more or less)

Anyway, untill more serious stuff start happening, keeping it in this section is the right thing to do.

We don't have the status ground work in the World Development News Forums.

@Face81, anything except for U/C belongs to the proposed section. That's also Prep, On Hold, Pro, App etc. Only T/O, Com and U/C are in the U/C section.

They should have named it SkyscraperCity :d

Nice ... though, since this is Al Attar group we're talking about, it might very well take a dozen or more times of stop-and-go before they'll complete it :D

amazing, some almost dead projects are alive again! but i don't think they'll build all the other megaprojects in the future.
