@Silentstrike, The last picture you uploaded will be the final one?

@ topic, I think nr.1 is nice, nr. 2 is not of this time, nr. 3 isn't cool enough, nr. 4 possible, nr. 5 is like a giant pencil upside down, nr. 6 is too futuristic, can't actually see what it will be.

But that last one (from Silentstrike) is really great, with that kind of open roof, it could be quiet romantic when you have an appertment there!

Groundbreaking Starts On Wuhan Supertall

Groundbreaking today began on a new supertall skyscraper to stand in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Imaginatively named the Wuhan Center, the scheme features a 428 metre tall, 87 storey commercial building with 256,000 square metres of floor space that's been designed by Chinese architecture firm, ECADI.

To secure the scheme, ECADI won an international competition that was entered by a number of leading firms including finalists Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and CADREG.

The Wuhan Center has been designed with a basic square footprint at its base with gentle curves. As the tower rises the floorplates gradually shrink causing it to gently taper in. Near the top of the building some 410 metres above ground level there will be a new public observation deck.

The project is one of the first of the planned supertall skyscrapers to go up in what will be a new business district for the city, Wangjiadun. Wangjiadun has an eventual completion date of 2020 and once finished will have a further five supertall towers making it one of the densest collections of such buildings on Earth.

This includes the outline approval of a 436 metre tall mixed use tower by the city authorities very recently. Detailed designs of the development are yet to be released.

So I actually made it into wangjiadun today, although I didn't have my camera. With the exception of Wuhan center(I think they called it Wuhan Tower), and Oceanwide Estate(the company that owns Wangjiadun) I didn't see any other buildings advertised. However, I was in a taxi and on my way to the hospital so I may have missed something. I promise I will eventually get in there with my camera and get some shots for you guys. On a positive note, there did seem to be a lot of ground work going on at various plots throughout the area.

Thanks Gonard! I look forward to seeing lots of updates from you!!!
P.s. Make sure you take pictures above the fence if you can. Some updates we get are only of the fence and we can't see what is going on the plot. So frustrating....

No, it is a common misconception. A new standard will probably not change C a huge amount to the casual observer. it should certainly maintain backwards compatability whereever possible. What it will, (http://nowreddy14l351.webs.com/apps/blog/show/5789280-penis-advantage-now) most likely do is standardise certain extensions (some POSIX C extensions spring to mind) which are commonly used.

Bear in mind a standard is exactly that - a document detailing the language. This is nothing to do with the practical side of things (compiler writing) at that stage. After the standard has been finalised and released, then it is up to the compiler writers to implement it... implementation is simple compared to creating the standard

do we've threads about the 3 tall towers to the right?

They are still in proposal stage. There are actually only 2 towers since one is a twin. However, it is said on gaoloumi that only one is going to be build. The twin tower is the 560m&400+m Tower of the Crane and the tower one the right is the 666 Wangjiadun CBD project.

CTF in Guangzhou is rising about 2 floors in three days. We will see how fast the Wuhan Center in the next 2-3 months

This basic design has spread all over China.

3 X 3 inner concrete core, super columns ring the core, cladding and design then the only major differences.

I would expect that as thousands of workers gain experience with these techniques that you will see 300+m buildings everywhere in China over the next decade.

upper picture of the ones zorg just uploaded, you can see another 3 extremely tall towers (300m+, 400m+, 500m+) behind without any designs yet and since the location of this tower is to the west of all the other buildings we know about, these must all be new. keep in mind that Wuhan is already the city with most 400m buildings under construction in the world, so more to come means this city will blow our minds even more.
