Several sets of photos from our last cold snap. One of the kids had a close friend move to Minneapolis last year, each time the children said it was real cold I had them look up the temperature in Minneapolis, this quieted them down.

December 27 2008 - balmy weather with fog, the local forest is called Thatcher woods and is located at Chicago and 1st avenue in River Forest. This is a flood plain, and here it is flooded.

Great shots harryc! This really takes me back when I was young and we used to dislodge big slabs of ice from the edge of the river and drag them on sleds to build forts with.
