I don't know why there aren't very tall buildings, I think there is a limit. I don't know which is the tallest one, too... Maybe Santos Dumont, Beira-Mar Trade Center... I dunno! =T

Fortaleza has some amazing buildings, but like some ppl said here lacks some height, if Fortaleza adopts the new style of development which Recife, Olinda, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Salvador choose its skyline would deserve a 10...design 10, skyline 7, so 8.5!

A tad bit different from other Brazilian skylines. I give it a 6.5/10.

8/10 Everything is really uniform in size and height but i really like the quality and the diversity of the building types. I also think that brazil has some really underatted skyscrapers, even though most people think of brazil as being quantity over quality i think fortaleza proves otherwise.

I gave it a 9.5/10 I love its dominating presence at the beachfront!!! The architecture looks much more beautiful than what I've seen in Sao Paulo. its not a 10 yet because it needs at least 1 significant Tower that'll represent the city. other than that 9.5/10!!!

I agree. Fortaleza's architects are much more creatives than the ones of São Paulo and Rio. The only thing that is lacking in Fortaleza's skyline is at least one big tower with more than 70 floors, to be a "symbol"...

I don't know what "dence" means, but I know what boring means. And a city like Fortaleza, with hundreds of different buildings, each building with a different design and different colors, a city with very creative architects, where no building is equal to another, is definitely not boring.

You probably think a city needs to have at least a office tower with 90 floors for not be "boring". Fortaleza doesn't need that. It's much more colorful and interesting than any of those cities with a 90-floor skyscraper and a few other buildings surrounding it in the downtown and nothing more...

To be honest, the skyline isn't that great but it looks much cleaner and more organized than the likes of Rio and Sao Paulo. Reminds me of Miami in some aspects. Quite nice.

Almost all the buildings are more or less high and slim residential towers of bright colours with balconies...
No tv-towers, high cathedrals or glassy office skyscrapers. Thats why I said all of them looks the same. Don't take offense.

The tv towers are not very high, they have a simple metallic structure, and are concentrated in the Dionisio Torres district. In this picture you can see 4 of them:

fortaleza has no real skyline, nearly all highrises have same height.
it would be look far better if it had more outstanding buildings instead
of the high amount of highrises. less is sometimes better although I
have to admit that some buildings are really nice.
compare fortaleza with let`s say cartagena in colombia you will
maybe understand what I mean. :cheers:

^^ Cartagena has nice buildings, and the most beautiful buildings stand out better in the skyline, because the density is smaller than the density of Fortaleza.

Fortaleza has a lot of nice buildings too, but they often become lost amid the density. If Fortaleza's skyline starts to spread to the west, as it appears to be starting to do now, some nice buildings will be in this new skyline, without a very high density surrounding it, at least in the first years. It will be a good time to take pictures.
