hey guys, sorry for delay. ive been flat out like a lizard drinking water.
last diagram was october. gee i had to raise many diagrams by heaps.
most i did was guangshous towers and of course burj dubai.
let me know if ive left some out or should remove them.
any with foundations underway should be included.
ive also added any tower over 400m. im still detailing them. eg-oriental pearl, KL tower , Tianjin ect.
ill get to them later.

Great diagram.

Can I be cheeky and make a suggestion?

How about arranging the buildings from left to right according to their longitude? Obviously there would be gaps and some pretty dense areas, but I think it would make for an interesting perspective.

My prayers have been heard - the diagram is back!:cucumber: Thanks Culwulla!:applause:

En detail, I'd see some progress for 101 Marina, which is overground for a while, with the core equalling the top of the neighbouring podiums at 20-25m on January, 13th (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=30675632&postcount=292).

At the moment I wonder about the actual height of Makkah Royal Hotel. It has overtaken the satellite towers, which partly should have topped out. But I remember figures of 260m for the two shoulders ZamZam and Hajar (e.g the English Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraj_Al_Bait_Towers) still uses these figures), so the Royal Hotel could have reached around 280m already. But if your assumption of only 238m (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=31066918&postcount=2583kB) for the so far tallest is true, 250m should be alright (perhaps it's the tent constructions on the roofs that make the difference).

Also:

You need to make a hole under the lighthouse tower with piling rigs, etc.
The pentominium has a big hole with 3 piling rigs (about 4 to 5 stories deep)
Incheon tower is really under construction? I don't believe it.
Lotte Tower, again I don't think any construction is happening on the actual tower.
Russia Tower, Burj al Alam and Chicago Spire on hold now. I'd take them off maybe.

Anyway, it's a great diagram and you put loads of effort into it to make it accurate, etc.

The SWFC is massive in this diagram, it looks like twice the mass of the Sears, is that correct?

buildmilehightower
January 24th, 2009, 09:35 PM
SWFC may look bigger from front view but remember SWFC is a narrow building, from the side it is thinner. Whereas Sears tower is the same size from just about any angle.

Floor area:

sears tower: 4.56 million sq ft

SWFC: 4,061,200 sq ft

I can't believe though that SWFC's roof is 50M higher than roof of Sears tower.

Nakheel is still alive and well according to Imre,s last post on the 20th and as far as I could tell their still going with the render on the first pages of the thread. Surely if they are digging the foundation pit they cant alter the design by much can they?

I think leave in the busan lotte tower since something is going on with the big tower anyway. Check here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=248313&page=28

Unfortunately I don't think anything is happening with the barwa tower so maybe take that away. Maybe ask someone from Qatar.

For Dubai the ones you should leave in (or add if not there already) are:
Burj Dubai
Pentominium (stuff is still happening on site, main contractor is apparantly (unofficially) ACC but they're not there yet. There is still deep excavation going on.
Burj al Alam (lots of piling activity recently)
Bin Manana Towers (piling in progress)
Princess Tower (you know yourself)
Marina 101 (same here)
Marina 106 (ground work, I don't know what, still going on but slowly)

You can scrap Dynamic Tower, Russia Tower and the Chicago Spire for the time being, I think. Also, that Oriental Pearl Tower diagram looks horrible. :P

so ive deleted any bldg uc. only existing and topped out bldgs/towers over 400m.
checkout how burj dubai dominates
only 20structures (not inc masts)
14 skyscrapers, 6 towers
in just 2-3 years another 20 skyscrapers will be added!

One little detail: Sears Tower should be changed to Willis tower. and also Empire State Building looks a little bit weird, has the wrong colour. It looks like you didn't draw it yourself, it has a very different style, and it's also 3d while your other towers are 2d.

So, what do you think will make that diagram next? I'm guessing it's Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait, followed by the Princess Tower in Dubai and then the Tokyo Sky Tree.

Also, f... orget the name "Willis Tower". It's called "Sears Tower", case closed! :P

EDIT: Forgot about the clock tower in Mecca, will probably top out before the Sky Tree.

al hamra is 350m? maybe early 2010 will topout.
also mecca tower is 360m+. princess tower is only 270m so wont be til this time next year when its 400m.
skytree is now 150m. wont be 400m until late next year.

The Dubai Marina is going to be really impressive in the next 5 years. Pentominium, Princess Tower, Marina 101 in addition to several other towers over 300 meters.

It's already pretty sick

years ago i tried to include all skyscrapers over 300m, then it become ridiculous with nearly 90. trying to keep updates on them. took me days just to look up each bldgs status.
then i uped it to 400m+ skyscrapers and towers. which is growing list ,i think 50 now?
maybe i may have to cut off at 500m? or 450m?
ill see how i go with working out whats UC and whats on hold ect.

^^ 50 ? No where near 50. I think 400m+ is just fine.

Make sure you add all the 400m towers here

And the orange ones here. Ground = Prep, you said you want them too. Enjoy! :)

Sadly only of one India's u/c or site prep supertalls made if over 500m. Site prep is going on at this one. It's hard to get pics as it is fenced of and security doesn't let people take pics.
