szehoong December 23rd, 2003, 02:16 AM Mariah Carey set to stir up a storm in Kuala Lumpur
By LI EE KEE
KUALA LUMPUR: Diva Mariah Carey, who was named the “World’s Best-Selling Female Artiste of the Millennium” at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo last October, is set to stir up a storm here in February.
Travelling the globe since June to promote her Charmbracelet album, the singer who has sold over 150 million albums during her career, will appear for Malaysian fans for the first time at a one-night concert at Merdeka Stadium on Feb 22.
The show, billed ‘An Intimate Evening with Mariah Carey – Charmbracelet World Tour 2004’ is part of a global extravaganza which has taken her across Asia, North America and Europe.
After the scheduled Christmas/New Year break, Carey will complete her world tour in several Asian cities which, besides Kuala Lumpur, also include Guangzhou and Beijing in China; Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong; Cebu in the Philippines and Pusan, Korea.
Since her unplugged version of “I’ll Be There” in 1992, Carey has become a household name among music lovers worldwide, winning accolades, which include two Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards and Billboard’s “Artiste of the Decade” award.
Renowned for her vocal prowess, especially her spectacular five-octave range, her career had not been a smooth ride all the way. Two years ago when Carey, afflicted with personal and professional problems, was subjected to the constant glare of the limelight.
But her darkest days seem to be behind her after she embarked on her first world tour in more than three years, in support of her latest release, Charmbracelet.
Her Malaysian concert is organised by Galaxy Production and presented by Celcom and TMNet.
At press time, according to concert sources, Carey’s show permit for her Malaysian showcase is still being processed.
Further enquiries can be made to Galaxy at hotline 03-2282-2020.

Mariah Carey arrives in Kuala Lumpur

Charming and beautiful: American diva Mariah Carey waving to fans on her arrival at the KL International Airport Thursday.
The singer and her 50-strong entourage are in Kuala Lumpur for a one-night concert — 'An Intimate Evening With Mariah Carey Charmbracelet World Tour 2004' — at the Stadium Merdeka tonight.
The 33-year-old singer arrived at 8.05pm from Bangkok and accompanied by airport security personnel and her bodyguards, she was whisked off to the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Kuala Lumpur. — STARpic by UU BAN LEONG

Mariah and her back-up singers at Stadium Merdeka.
KUALA LUMPUR: The fans went wild as Mariah Carey, seated at the back of a BMW convertible, made her appearance at the start of her 90-minute show at the Merdeka Stadium yesterday.
Clad in a pair of blue jeans and a pink spaghetti-strapped top, the diva kicked off her first-ever concert in Malaysia with the upbeat song Heartbreaker, taken from her 1999 Rainbow album as the BMW drove her into the stadium.
Fans rushed towards the award-winning singer to get a closer look at their idol, who arrived fresh from her sell-out concerts in Jakarta and Bangkok.
Carey's prima-donna attitude took a different turn when she made several adjustments in her appearance here to conform to local customs and sensitivities.
Even though she made several disappearances from the stage, Carey reappeared wearing the same outfit again.
Later, Carey told fans that she normally changed costumes about eight times between performances but this time she had to make an exception.
“I’m sorry that I’m so boring but I’m just playing by the rules,” she said.
The 33-year-old singer said she was abiding by the dress code regulations of the Government and decided to stick to one “safe” outfit.
The fans were undeterred by her unprecedented compromise on her clothing.
Despite a slight drizzle in the late afternoon, about 30,000 excited fans, both young and old, thronged the stadium, with some of them coming as early as 5pm.
Paul Munro, a broadcaster from Australia who came to Malaysia for a holiday in November, even extended his stay just to catch a glimpse of his favourite singer.
Munro, a Carey fan who has all her albums and knows all her songs, said his extended stay was decided on at the last minute because he only found out about the concert four weeks earlier.
Local singer Vincent Chong, better known as Vince, was also spotted outside the stadium before the concert started.
“I’m really a big fan of Mariah Carey and have always dreamed of doing a duet with her,” said the Akademi Fantasia 2003 winner.
The concert, which started at 9.30pm, saw Carey perform 15 of her hit songs, including My All, Without You, Hero, Always Be My Baby, Through The Rain and Butterfly.

szehoong February 23rd, 2004, 12:14 PM Carey’s undeniable charm
Despite no costume change, only a couple of songs from her Charmbracelet album and a 90-minute delay, the local audience welcomes Mariah Carey with open arms at her first concert here.
writes PHILIP AUGUSTINE.
MARIAH Carey’s Friday concert at Stadium Merdeka Kuala Lumpur was a bundle of surprises right from the very beginning. Fans who came expecting to see a scantily clad diva were thrown off guard when Carey, dressed in a bright pink spaghetti-strapped top and tight-fitting blue flared jeans, made her grand entrance perched at the back of a black BMW convertible as it went around the stadium before finally stopping by the stage.
With no opening act and a one-and-a-half hour delay, the American pop-diva smiled and waved to the crowds as she opened the 90-minute set with the remix version of her 1999 No.1 smash hit Heartbreaker taken from her Rainbow album.
http://star-ecentral.com/archives/2004/2/23/music/CAYVQX6D.jpg
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT: Mariah Carey and her dance crew entertain the audience to no end.
Looking conspicuously like a Barbie doll complete with her pink platforms and long blond curly mane, Carey’s concert had a happy, colourful and somewhat childish theme going on that seemed to enthrall the excited crowd of close to 30,000 who immediately took to their feet (and stood on their chairs) to get a better view of the 33-year-old international singing sensation who said: “I’ve waited a long time to come and see you.”
Royalty, celebrities and fashionistas were out in full force.
While pop-diva concerts are predominantly about the visuals, (Cher rode a fake elephant on her Farewell tour and Christina Aguilera steamed up her Stripped tour with a hunky guy who well, strips), Carey had none of that and, in fact, went all out to stage what could possibly be the most demure performance in her current world tour.
When after several stage exits Carey re-emerged wearing the same outfit, which had the words “Automatic Princess” splashed prominently across her chest, the slightly peeved crowd emitted sounds of disappointment (the best the audience got was half way through the show, when she switched from her bright pink platforms to strappy high-heels).
However, the songtress did apologise.
“Typically I change clothes like eight times during the show and I’m sorry if I’m being boring but that’s the rules and we gotta play by them,” said the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter referring to the strict stage regulations imposed by officials and concert organisers.
Funnily enough, similar “strict guidelines” were ignored during her recent concert in Jakarta when curvaceous Carey performed in six of her tour costumes.
For a large part of her show, Carey was flanked by five dancers, all dressed in mismatched hip-hop circus wear – like the girl who had a tutu over her tight jeans. She was accompanied by five very good band members and three back-up singers led by long-time friend Trey Lorenz (who later joined her in an impressive vocal-Olympic version of the Jackson 5 classic I’ll Be There).
While the 33-year-old superstar did another one of her disappearing acts, a buffed up and very bald Lorenz took centre stage to render the song A Friend of Mine and also highlighted the vocal prowess of the other two backup singers as well as the band’s pianist. Much to the delight of everyone, especially the ladies in the crowd, Lorenz heaped praise on the nation’s capital saying it was one of the best venues they ever performed in.
As trademark of the true musical icon and gifted vocalist she is, Carey needed no elaborate set design or flashy pyrotechnics to prove that she can still deliver the goods. In fact, a simple, minimalist stage (with a set of steps), and two giant screens on each side showing accompanying videos to some of her songs, was all she had. This nevertheless added to the overall magical spell Carey cast on her audience.
Carey’s pure talent and superstar quality was never more obvious as she belted out emotive and highly inspirational ballads like Through The Rain and Can’t Take That Away (Mariah’s Theme). Both songs earned loud ovations as she dug deep to hit some spectacular notes.
In recent years, Carey has faced unfavourable media attention, which is hardly a surprise considering the tumult of a divorce in 1998 with ex-Sony Music Entertainment chairman Tommy Mottola, a record-label change, a universally panned movie and album (Glitter in 2001), and that very, very public “breakdown”. The gifted singer however, who has always sought refuge in writing songs, eventually produced Charmbracelet, which made its debut at No.3 on the US Billboard Charts.
And one of the most poignant parts of the evening was when Carey bared all (with her clothes on) in a very personal video presentation of her childhood, career highs and lows and her rise from it all as she rendered a deeply moving version of her gospel-inspired song My Saving Grace.
Although dubbed ‘An Intimate Evening With Mariah Carey Charmbracelet World Tour 2004’, to promote her latest album Charmbracelet, only two songs (Through The Rain and My Saving Grace) from the album were featured. Carey also sang the single I Know What You Want from her newest Remixes compilation.
Instead, Carey, who sang a total of 16 songs, primarily delivered a series of her hits from the previous decade including Dreamlover, Make it Happen, Always Be My Baby and her first ever single and No.1 hit, Vision of Love, thus, endearing herself further to many Malaysians who have long said they missed the “old Mariah”.
Carey also maintained a steady and cheeky banter with the crowd – often throwing back “I love you’s” and asking the crowd to sing along as she teased and gyrated a few times by rotating her hips and thighs suggestively and flashing the sweetest smile.
Carey has also developed her own special lingo or Mariahisms like “love ya much” and “hey, lamb!” which she readily offered the Malaysian crowd.
While for the most part the concert went on smoothly, at other times the videos that were played between set changes created brief but obvious lulls in the show.
The song I Know What You Want is a case in point. As dancers performed intricate dance movements while the song’s video was played, Carey came out briefly, uttered a few lines as she walked across the stage, then quickly left.
A disappointment perhaps was Carey’s Fantasy number with its “been there done that” steps, which were not only old but showed moments where both her dance routine and singing were out of sync with the music.
But as the best selling female artiste of all time and as the only artiste to have a No.1 hit in every year of the 90s, Carey more than made up for it with her encore performance of the all-time crowd favourite and semi anthem-like melody Hero.
“In appreciation to all of you fans here in Malaysia, I say thank you for supporting me through my whole career. I want you to know that I really appreciate you and thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Carey.
While what Carey projected on stage may have seemed fluffy and girlish or even childish at times, none of it seem calculated or rehearsed.
In her 14-year career, Carey’s appearance and style may have changed, but one thing is certain – her music continues to inspire.

By CHOW HOW BAN
IT must be a record of sorts for Mandarin pop star Wang Lee Hom when he signed autographs for thousands of fans who attended his Unbelievable mini concert at Dewan PGRM in Cheras recently.
The heartthrob from Taiwan fulfilled his obligation to sign every booklet of his latest Unbelievable album, which the fans brought, for about three hours.
Before the autograph signing session, Wang, who had not seen his fans for more than a year, performed five songs – Ya! Birthday, Ni Bu Zhai (You Are Not Here), Can You Feel My World, Ci Ke Ni Xin Li Xiang Qi Shui (Whom Are You Thinking Of At This Moment) and Ni He Wo (You and I) – from the album.
The fans cheered their idol as Wang wowed them with his showmanship.
When emcees Ah May and Sam from Rediffusion 98.8 asked Wang what was the most unbelievable thing that had happened in his life, he said it was the loyal support and love for his songs shown by his fans.
“I am serious,” he said. “Every time I work on my computer, play my piano and make my music, I always thought of you all.
“Whenever I surfed the Internet and checked the messages from you all, I was touched. You keep me going.”

BY DARYL GOH
KUALA LUMPUR: Multi-racial hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas, which had one of last year's biggest chartbusters, Where Is The Love, will perform for Malaysian fans later next month in their first South-east Asian tour.
Event organiser, Pineapple Concerts, said the popular group is slated to perform at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort on May 26.
“This is probably Kuala Lumpur's first full-scale hip-hop concert and it's going to be an exciting prospect for music fans,” said the company's managing director, Razman Tan Sri Ahmad Razali.
He said the group, which hails from Los Angeles, has confirmed its stint here, adding that Pineapple Concerts was glad to welcome another contemporary chart-topping act to Kuala Lumpur.
A concert by modern rock band Incubus, brought in by the company on March 16, drew 8,000 fans and the company hoped to follow up on that success with the upcoming show.

“American acts are starting to look at Kuala Lumpur as a sizeable touring destination and that's a good sign for tourism,” said Razman.
The four-piece group was also scheduled to go to Singapore, Manila and Bangkok.
The group's most recent album Elephunk, released last year, spawned several hit singles, including Where Is The Love?, Hey Mama and Shut Up.
Razman said the ticket price would be kept at a flat rate.
Pineapple Concerts would announce more updates of the concert soon, he added.

Over 160 fans turned up to meet Ian Wright, the presenter of Discovery Channel’s “Lonely Planet” travel series, at a specially organised one-hour session held at the Carcosa Seri Negara hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The fans, all winners of a month- long contest organised by Astro and other local media organisations last month, were treated to a visual slide presentation of Wright’s travels around the world.
Laughter constantly broke out as Wright regaled those present with humorous stories about his strange and even dangerous encounters, such as when he was bitten by a monkey during filming.
Some of the bizarre tales he had to tell were from his trips to Fiji, Bolivia, Sicily, Syria, Japan, Morocco as well as remote mountainous regions in Africa.
http://metro.thestar.com.my/news/2004/4/m_pg03hilarious.JPG
Regular followers of Wright's adventures know how hillarious he can be.
Talking about his career, Wright admitted that he never aspired to be in television.
“I sent in a video presentation of myself for the travel and adventure series as a joke and was selected. That was 10 years ago. Now they can’t get rid of me,” he said to cheers and claps from his fans.
When queried by a fan whether he actually ate a sheep’s eyeball in Mongolia, Wright replied that he did and described the “dish” as crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
“I did it as a courtesy and to show my respect to the culture of my hosts. It would have been impolite to refuse to eat it,” he said.
During the question-and-answer session, Wright revealed that he had never suffered from food poisoning despite eating strange and exotic food on his travels.
“I’m used to it because I have been eating rubbish all my life.
“However, there was one time when I became nauseous from the rich food served by a restaurant in Lebanon,” he added.
Wright said he preferred isolated places such as deserts and the Arctic Circle to crowded cities, adding that he might publish his travel adventures in a book someday when he has the leisure to do so.
The event was also an informal launch of the new programme “Ian Wright Live” which went on air on April 2 on Discovery Travel And Adventure (Astro Channel 11). It is on every Friday from 10pm to 11pm.
The new show, filmed in front of a live studio audience, is touted as a hilarious behind-the-scenes look into Wright’s adventurous trips around the world featuring bad hotel experiences, embarrassing travel moments and strange cultures.

Amidst a stunning display of lights, Maksim played his famed electro-pop-infused classical music for the enthusiastic crowd. The pieces presented included The Flight of the Bumble Bee, Exodus, Claudine and Croatian Rhapsody.

It?s a beautiful show
IN a double salvo, Sarah Brightman mesmerised her audience at the Beijing Capital Stadium with sold-out concerts on the nights of May 30 and May 31. The concerts were part of her Harem World Tour covering 46 cities, which will see Brightman performing in Kuala Lumpur on June 20.
If the Beijing shows are anything to go by, fans of Brightman?s pop-classical hybrid can certainly expect a sumptuous show at Stadium Negara.
On the first night at Beijing, the show began with a cascade of lights and a stream of hypnotic Arabic melodies before Brightman suddenly materialised in what might loosely be termed a Princess Jasmine outfit. Depending on your taste, her various costumes that night could be categorised as saucy, exotic, over the top or even regal (or maybe that was just the tiara she wore). Once thing for sure, she was eye-catching, a veritable visual feast.
In fact, the entire show proved to be a spectacle as Brightman ? backed by eight dancers, two featured vocalists (Eli Barrak and Violet), a six-member rock group (led by keyboardist Jan-Erik Kohrs), and a 10-piece classical section ? made full use of the stage dynamics.
The show began with a quartet of tunes from Brightman?s most recent album, Harem. These included its ethnic title track and a number of powerful cuts like Beautiful and It?s A Beautiful Day. The synthesis of disco beats, Middle-Eastern percussion and New Age synths was suitably topped off by Brightman?s trademark operatic vocal gymnastics.
Brightman's eyes are a hot topic of conversation among her fans.
While she occasionally strayed into Kate Bush territory and some of the backing instrumentation revealed Harem producer Frank Peterson?s links to Enigma, Brightman was quick to stamp the music with her own blend of coquetry, sensuality and virtuosity.
A change of pace saw her tackle Dust in the Wind (a Kansas classic she recorded on her 1998 album Eden) and Who Wants to Live Forever (the Queen ballad that graced 1997?s Time To Say Goodbye).
The subtle way in which her two guitarists materialised up front for the former song revealed that even her band members? movements had been tightly choreographed. (In fact, throughout the night, Brightman?s band performed a number of impressive instrumental interludes while the good lady went through one costume change after another.)
One of the highlights of the night followed with Anytime Anywhere, which borrows its theme from Tomaso Albinoni?s majestic Adagio. Brightman?s fusion of pop and classical may not satisfy the purists but this piece is clearly one of her most successful experiments.
After a version of Stranger in Paradise, Brightman went into full classical mode tackling La Luna (which showed off the lower range of her voice) and Nessun Dorma. This segment of the show, which was unlikely to appeal to those who don?t appreciate opera, saw Brightman perform with minimal backing.
Following a 15-minute intermission, Brightman returned with another powerful set of songs from Harem. The Arabian Nights suite is one of her most experimental pieces and its various sections, from the electric sitar-dominated Scimitar Moon to the poppy Voyage and moody Alone, segued into each other superbly.
Brightman then did a little ivory-tickling for The War is Over. She was joined by Barak, whose powerful traditional Arabic singing simply added to the poignancy of the piece. The pop tune, Free, was followed by Brightman?s most unusual cover: a synth-drenched treatise of What A Wonderful World. The Beijing crowd was in raptures as she mounted a swing and sang while petals rained down on her.
Another cover followed in the form of A Whiter Shade of Pale. The song itself is a stunning one, but Brightman?s interpretation was ordinary at best.
It was inevitable that she revisit her role in The Phantom of the Opera and Brightman had the crowd eating out of her hand by the time she finished Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again.
The killer blow of her finest song (and greatest hit), Time To Say Goodbye, was her stated finale. Those used to the duet version with Andrea Bocelli might have taken a while to get used to the absence of the male vocal part, but it was still a riveting performance of an otherworldly song.
Her encores, The Journey Home and the power-packed A Question of Honour, merely provided the icing on the cake. ? By Martin Vengadesan

ENCOURAGING LOCAL TALENTS:Brightman has been using the expertise of local musicians at all the places where she performed during her Harem World Tour.
?The members are very thrilled because Time to Say Goodbye (one of Brightman?s hits) is a song that we often play,? said Mustafa.

The local players, who will play the violin, viola and cello, will make up the string section of the band.
They will begin rehearsing with Brightman tomorrow although they had received the scores earlier.
Mustafa said the musicians were versatile and experienced in this area because they had accompanied superstars like Tom Jones and Vanessa Mae when they performed here.

There will also be a specially built stage in the shape of a crescent with a catwalk that will extend to the audience, allowing fans to get a clear view of the superstar.
The once Mrs Andrew Lloyd Webber is best known for her role as Christine in the hit musical, The Phantom of the Opera.

Kaiju Toho January 10th, 2005, 09:33 AM What about the Scorpions?
Blabbyboy January 11th, 2005, 01:56 AM HK superstars alan tam and hacken lee had their concert just a day or two ago in bukit jalil, was supposed to be NYE countdown but postponed.
Kaiju Toho January 11th, 2005, 06:58 AM What about the venues? Malaysia seem to have some very nice venues. The Mredeka stadium seems a bit run down in comparison to the marvellous stadium built for the Commonwealth Games in 1988. Why don't they use the national stadium instead. Is it because it's too far out of town? What's the indoor domed stadium next door to the Merdeka called? Anyone have any photos of its interior. Are there aother arenas around. What about Genting? Does it have an arena?
Sorry about all the questions. Just interested.

Yea....Merdeka stadium looks kinda run-down because it seriously needed a fresh coat of paint. It is dated because it is completed in 1957. ;)
Actually our National Stadium is the huge one that hosted Commonwealth Games. So you could always refer to the one at Bukit Jalil as the National Stadium so that we all won't get confused :D
Our National Stadium isn't far at all from town. Despite it being located near the official border of KL, it is a mere 15 mins by car from Merdeka Stadium. In fact it even had a dedicated metro station!
The indoor stadium next to Stadium Merdeka are called Stadium Negara and it is built in the 60s. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of its interior now :(
Yes.....Genting had the Arena of Stars. Originally this is a huge amphitheatre but it had since been converted into an indoor arena ;) Many concerts are held there.
Other notable arenas include the Putra Stadium which is next to our National Stadium. It had seen many concerts too and it is the country's most advanced indoor arena. Other smaller stadiums include the Kelana Jaya Stadium, Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium and Selayang Stadium. Another indoor arena that is famous is the Melawati Stadium which is next to the Shah Alam stadium ( you called it Selangor Stadium ;) )
Well......our National Stadium had seen many events and concerts as well such as the recent performances by Hacken Lee and Alan Tam. It is also a better venue for fireworks display ;) Other big concerts there include one by Jacky Cheung.....and some others which I just can't seemed to crack my head on :D
szehoong January 11th, 2005, 01:13 PM Oh and one more thing.....the reason why some concerts are in Stadium Merdeka and come is at our National Stadium is due to pricing factor. Naturally our National Stadium being a larger one had better facilities thus commanding a higher price. Being in the middle of the city and served by 2 monorail stations and an LRT station, Stadium Merdeka is still a fav. Too bad carpark there is kinda limited. Our National Stadium in comparison is much more car-friendly as it had thousands of carparks and it is directly acessible to 3 highways. It is also served by 2 LRT stations. ;)
Shah Alam Stadium used to be a fav amongst concert organisers but had since lost its appeal after a series of incidents as the Selangor Govt is too conservative for allowing certain concerts to held there. Furthermore....this stadium is not too near a metro station :(

Avril Lavigne
KUALA LUMPUR: Rock princess Avril Lavigne and pop punk outfit Simple Plan are set to thrill local fans when they perform here on March 29 at Stadium Merdeka.
The first major international concert of the year here, will see both rock artistes making their way here as part of Lavigne’s Bonez World Tour which features Simple Plan as guest artistes.
“They decided to tour together,” said Arianna Teoh, director of Absolute Entertainment, the concert organiser.
“Both acts are going to play an equal number of songs,” she added.
Lavigne and Simple Plan, both from Canada, will also be making stops in Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore.

Simple Plan meanwhile has been enjoying increasing global attention with last year’s Still Not Getting Any. The artistes are expected to perform past hits as well as songs from their current albums.
“Lavigne caters to the masses and Simple Plan is very hot at the moment, so we thought it’d be a good concert to bring to Kuala Lumpur,” said Teoh.
Tickets are expected to go on sale before Chinese New Year. Further information is available from Absolute Entertainment at 03-6201 8368.

KUALA LUMPUR: Taiwan’s prince of R&B Jay Chou brought the house down at Stadium Merdeka on Saturday night.
The concert was part of his “Incomparable to Jay World Tour 2005,” which kicked off in October last year. Prior to the concert here, Chou had held sold-out shows in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
For two-and-a-half hours, the singer-songwriter sang 26 tunes, ranging from the infectious hip-hop song like Yi Fu Zhi Ming (In the Name of the Father) to soothing R&B ballads such as Ai Wo Bie Zou (Love Me Don’t Leave) and Hui Dao (Return).
The 26-year-old Chou proved that he was also an able musician when he played the piano and flute.
Joining him on stage were guest performers, hip-hop quartet Nan Quan Ma Ma and the sultry songstress Landy Wen. Both also did well to keep the over 20,000 crowd entertained.
“Incomparable to Jay World Tour 2005” Live in Malaysia was sponsored by Maxis Communications Berhad and Hotlink. Star Planet was the organiser.

Sam (right) and Ryan at a concert in Hong Kong recently. For the Kuala Lumpur concert, Scott and Ricky will join them.
The 12 Girls Band, formed in China in 2001, has been enthralling audiences with its brand of fusion music played with Chinese classical instruments such as the erhu (bowed string instrument), pipa (plucked string instrument), guzheng (Chinese zither) and dizi (Chinese flute).
One of the songs Sam is slated to perform with them is the title track from his 1990 martial arts flick Swordsman, titled Chong Hoi Yai Sing Siu (A Single Laughter in the Sea), composed by the late James Wong.
Wu is best known for her role as Yan Yan in the TVB serial Golden Faith.
It has been said that there will be another surprise guest artiste making an appearance.
There is no word as to who it will be but rumours are circulating that it could be any of Sam’s guests in his six-night Chinese New Year concerts in Hong Kong, scheduled to kick off on Feb 8.
Andy Lau, Sandy Lam and Leo Ku are among the big names who have confirmed their participation in Hong Kong.
“Sam Hui Live in Malaysia 2005” is jointly organised by Galaxy Production with Da Ma Cai (Pan Malaysian Pools) as the presenter.
