The capital and the largest city of Republic of Srpska (second largest in BiH) shall get the most modern football stadium in the Balkan Region and it will be among the most modern stadiums in Europe.
"This is a capital project that will serve the city for the next 50 years. The capacity of the stadium is 30,854 seats and it will have 3,800 (mostly underground) parking spaces. The highest point of the stadium is at 41.5 meters in relation to the pitch. The stadium meets the highest global standards (for instance the evacuation plan of 8 minutes) and all of the conditions that FIFA and UEFA require. The construction will start in about 8 months (after the project development is done) and the time needed for the construction of this project is about 30 months.
Four proposals made it to the finals, but naturally only one (the work of "Omni Structure Ltd." Belgrade and "Omni Structure Ltd." Moscow) won on the tender. Here is the rank-list of the four best proposals:

PS: I apologize for the low-quality (paparazzi) pictures. This thread will be updated with new photos as soon as the public announcement spreads wider. :)
www.sercan.de January 25th, 2009, 08:39 PM how many suites will it have?
Lokks bigger than jst 30,854
Sawovsky January 25th, 2009, 08:46 PM It looks bigger 'cuz there is no track ;)
BosniaHerzegovina January 25th, 2009, 10:58 PM It wil be the best stadium in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Hope it will be build!
Alle January 25th, 2009, 11:11 PM Very good design, stylisticly pure, stands close to the pitch, and looks to set for a good atmosphere with that roof reflecting sound. Altough the upper tier design will spread out the spectators up there, but it seems those trademark curves are fashionable these days.
Sawovsky January 25th, 2009, 11:35 PM It wil be the best stadium in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Hope it will be build!
It will probably be the best in whole Balkan
CrazySerb January 25th, 2009, 11:56 PM Great project for Banja Luka & Serb Republic and hopefully, it will have a great kick in the butt effect for the rest of us in ex-YU to start the redevelopment of our own stadiums:okay:
Btw, I gotta add that I actually like the "last" stadium proposal best - it has that cold, almost Scandinavian design so it could be a very unique stadium in our region.

Yes, but with its approved design it will be a very unique stadium in Europe, maybe even in the World! ;)
Majevčan January 26th, 2009, 02:21 AM The first and second proposals were the best. With maybe small advantages for the first one.
Banjaluchanin January 26th, 2009, 02:25 AM As far as I'm concerned, with giant advantages for the first one! I call the second one "The glass ashtray".
Bandera January 26th, 2009, 07:05 AM Were dose the club get the money to build this kind of stadium?
Ban.BL January 26th, 2009, 09:21 AM It will be state- private financed
Banjaluchanin January 26th, 2009, 04:23 PM Were dose the club get the money to build this kind of stadium?
It will be financed after the public-private partnership system. The Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Srpska already approved the financial injection of 15,000,000 € for the project. Other partners for this investment are yet to be found or unknown. One of them is I believe the Government of Republic of Srpska, but I'm not 100% sure.
lpioe January 26th, 2009, 05:41 PM I like the 3rd one the most, the winner is also nice.
What do you think are the chances of it being built?

It is already approved. You can read that in the title and later in the article too. ;)

Here's an interesting point: It actually makes sense why the stadium is designed like a rafting boat. The city of Banja Luka is namely famous for its mountain river Vrbas and its rafting opportunities. There was an European Championship in rafting held in Banja Luka in 2006 and there's an oncoming World Championship this summer. So it makes perfect sense and this I think is why this design won on the tender.
Here's a couple of pictures of the Vrbas river:

Alle January 29th, 2009, 10:22 PM Another reason might have been the periphery facilities in the proposition. Considering this again, the third design might have been better stadium-wise alone, altough I do not see any suites there, but I'm sure there are some incorporated in that design as well.
Great photos, rafting opportunities are certainly very good in many places in the country.

You have a very good point there, didn't think of that :D
Vermeer February 11th, 2009, 04:17 PM FK Borac Banja Luka has an attendance around 3000. To me it seems silly to build a 30k seater, that is not needed in a country that is dependant on foreign aid to survive. Does anybody really think it will be built within the next 10 years?

Republic of Srpska is not dependent from foreign aid. 90% of the foreign aid after the war went to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and only 10% to Republic of Srpska and yet the Federation bankrupted last year with only about 200€ left on their budget account and the Republic of Srpska today has way better and more stable economical status.
And about the stadium, the stadium is approved. The project development is in progress and will last about 8 months from this point on. After that (probably around end 2009/beginning 2010) the project goes U/C and will be finished in a 30 month period of time (probably in summer 2012).

The main issue was that the stadium is not needed by any club, and I suppose it will never become the main arena for the BiH national team. Republika Srpska is a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that country is surviving on foreign aid.

FK Borac has enough time to improve its game, even more when the new stadium is finished there will be better conditions for the fans ant the attendance will also rise rapidly.
and I suppose it will never become the main arena for the BiH national team.
Of course not, why should it? Republic of Srpska has it's own national team. ;)
Republika Srpska is a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that country is surviving on foreign aid.
Where do you have this information from? I told you that the Federation of BiH took 90% of the foreign aid inevitably after the war, there's no foreign aid today. Republic of Srpska is not responsible for the Federation's bankrupt, indeed even what more! And therefore Republic of Srpska shall not be be put in the same basket with the Federation of BiH as far as the foreign aid's concerned.
Ok, enough OT now!

Stadium will never be build because its another one of those BS stories from the serbian fearless leader Milorad Dodik, same way he proposed a airport in trebinje hahaha. Sadly the serbian people are stupid enough to buy this guys bullshit so they believe its going to be build, but in reality it never will.
ONE the whole bosnian soccer league is a joke, Borac cant fill up its current stadium not a 30.000 stadium....it will never happen...RS has a self proclaimed national team which can only play friendly games...lol.... it cant compete in any FIFA championships like the European Cup, or world CUP...so FAIL!
the Bosnian national team will never come to this stadium since it would be like going to play a home game in beograd.... overall the stadium is a total bs story, its never going to be build .... u can say it was approved a billion times but that doesnt not change the fact, Kosevo stadium renovation was approved too but that never happened ....
So wake up, and smell the coffee and stop living a dream world...
PEACE!
Livno80101 May 1st, 2009, 03:33 PM I also think this arena will never be built, because RS leader Milorad Dodik will finish in prison in few years , and other reason is that Borac has around 1000 to 2000 attendance on average. league is awful, worst in europe after maybe andorran and san marinese league :ohno: , 90% of games are fixed so there are almost every win of home team in each round. Only club which has more that 4 wins away is currently leading team HNK Zrinjski Mostar and there are 4 teams with no win away whole season long. also, Bosnia has no so much money now and I think that investing in agriculture and health and pension insurance is more important than so big stadium in Banja Luka
acagrof August 14th, 2009, 11:31 AM this is good news for all real football fans capacity of 30000 is also ok as it will for sure
be full when red star or partizan visit in national championship by the time the construction
is finished also it will be small to acomodate all fans when national team of Serbia starts playing in Banja luka soon
NemanjaR. March 1st, 2010, 11:43 PM Beautiful stadium. Congratulations Banjalucani.:)

Sorry but I do not understand? What is Republika Srpska?

Livno80101 August 4th, 2010, 02:35 AM He understands and knows what Republika Srpska is, but his avatar (Bosniak flag) shows his opinion - he doesnt recognizes Republika Srpska as independent region inside of Bosnia :ohno:, and he doesnt recognize current organization of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina :ohno: (as three constitutive peoples). And he also does not recognize official Bosnia Herzegovina flag. :ohno:
But you and others dont need to bother about that. :)

My friend as you know Republika Srpska is illegal and has been founded on genocide so why would I recognize something like that?
This is the fact and we all know it.
It was born out of the aggression and genocide perpetrated by the Serbo-fascists Karadžić, Milošević and Mladić.
Karadžić and his buddies committed wide-scale ethnic cleansing and genocide upon the Bosnian Muslim population in the areas he controlled. It is known that 250,000 men, women and children were murdered by Karadžić's forces, while 45,000 women were systematically raped in war crime and over 2,000,000 were displaced.
That is all I can say about this so called "independent region" build on genocide by Bosnian -Serbs helped by the Serbs from Serbia.
dande August 4th, 2010, 02:36 PM If it gets built it will be nice home field of the BIH national team.
Marin Mostar August 4th, 2010, 04:41 PM People, please ignore Hare77. He has been brain washede. Of course there ware crimes during the war. It happend on all thre sides, but he is exagerating. App. 200 000 were kild overall on all sides together.
Anyway, this is not a political forum so it would bi best to continue talking about the stadium or stop talking at all.

I would not be too sure about that.
My earlier statement is correct so I do not really understand why you are saying 200,000 on all sides but yes lets talk about football.
I am ok with that as long as someone does not mentioned Republika Srpska.

- Independent region inside an idependent country - impossible!
- Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a Republic since 1995.
Check your sources a little bit.
By the way,it would be nice if it would have been built, but everybody knows it is too big for BL. At least for now. A 15-20k stadium would suit BL better.
Goodluck with it,anyway!
SokoX August 4th, 2010, 08:19 PM Hare77, may you tell me how much money they gave you? :) And how is it that if you were Bosnian, your IP address comes from Pakistan? :D
