The original thread was deleted so ive started again.
the beautiful green glass apartment tower will tranform the Mainbeach skyline. It will sit nicely next to Inlet. Canberra Architects- have designed this 94m/30storey tower. They have recently completed the SENTINEL ON MAIN in 2001.
This project is scheduled to start in 2004.
Ill post render soon as ss.com is back up!

cheers

heres the render of the green AXIS! beautiful design with concrete framing and stepped top with spire reaching 94m/306ft! This is probably only tower uc in Mainbeach after the recent completion of Marquis on main & Newport on Main.

any info on the apartments ?

CULWULLA

trances. the 94m height was agreed on so it was a step down height from the 40storey INLET to its east and 20storey MALIBU to its west. it looks all by itself but it isnt ,just well spaced.

When you take close-up shots like that for ANY tower on the GC it'll seem to be isolated. It's a good thing.

You couldn't force me with a gun to my head. I think I'll attend the next transit centre protest with a sign demanding Clarke phase out the sun. I'd still be the most reasonable one there.

thanks for piccies, hey the photos of the model look totally different then the render and plans i was sent last year. its totally new top. its not as good. the original had a spired top.this also looks taller? i counted 30 storeys plus top LMR, so maybe 95m?

original tower 94m to spire>

CULWULLA

offiicial height from architects- 101m to LMR. so its up from 84m roof (spire-94m).
should look tall from its location.

nice citiboy. you can tell its creeping up in height along side the massive INLET. Its 117m (106m roof) 35st, . The pic defec took on april25, Axis core reached lev25 or 76m.
so now it must be approx lev30 or 90m high. wont be long til it tops out.

great shot citiboy. you can see exactly what council wanted in terms of height. They wanted Axis to be halfway between massive 35st Inlet to east and 20st Malibu to west.

Is it really finished? Hmm, very dissapointing. The green glass doesn't have much of an impact and the top half looks dull - they should have carried the white through like on the renders - another example of cost cutting? Be good to have some more pics GC people?

I didn't know it had so few apartments:
Axis is a 30 storey high-rise with only 32 apartments. Up to Level 15, there are 12 floors of two storey apartments. Above this, the apartments occupy their own floor up to Level 26.

Locke
October 24th, 2005, 07:31 AM
No, it's not quite finished yet, looked u/c on the Gold Coast Indy coverage. It still needs to be painted and there is a little spire that goes on it as well I think.

CULWULLA
October 25th, 2005, 12:38 AM
^ it was going to be a spire that reached 94m, but there was an amendment to top section and 5 floors were added and a blade replaced the spire which is already up( totals 101m).
