This is one of four sketches I did between 1995-1997.
One night I got soo bored and picked up a felt tip pen and started scribbling on large sketch pad. Not knowing what I am going to draw somehow it ended up with an isometric view of a megalopolis.

It took me one whole month to finish the first of these sketches (below) then I had a break for couple of months then did another one and another one...by then I was running out of idea of what a skyscraper or indeed an ordinary building should look like. Interesting enough - one of the buildings I designed to look like a giant bullet happen to look similar to the design of Swiss Re tower! :)

Great drawing! I like the bridge in the middle, it looks like one of the bridges in SimCity 4 :)

That is absolutely brilliant. :guns1:

Looks like a 1920s Futurist drawing. Perhaps a drawing used in the production process for Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

More please...

thank u everyone for the compliment. I really enjoy doing this sort of things. Here's the 2nd one (join up with the first one on the right) the skyline here not as dense and clutter as the 1st.
I was gonna put like a big stadium in the middle but I don't know how to draw one.. so it look a like a giant crop circle.. :D
the other sketches also coming :)

Part 2 is great. The lower left hand corner is so tangled and twisted.

So where is this city located? Has any particular place inspired you?
By the shape of that sports oval, it could be located in one of the Cricket playing countries?

These sketches are so amazing! It's the kind of thing you can look at for a looong time and discover something new all the time. Ahh the detail!

I think it looks like a cyberpunk city, like a place William Gibson would write about.

I wish I could draw like that. :)
