Nice kaayo ang gateway, alam niyo guys, by far, this project of LKKS is a model among Mindanaoan companies coz unlike developments in other places which are all companies from Manila or living in their city but born from other places such as Cebu, ang LKKS is purely local development and large-scale in size. I havent seen a local malling developer that made a local SM branch run for its money. :cheers:

Four-star hotel set to rise on Limketkai property

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Limketkai Sons, Inc. will start construction of a 21-storey, 250-room hotel complex within the year in the company’s 30-hectare commercial complex in this city’s Lapasan district.

Alfonso Y. Lim, chief executive officer of the company, said the hotel project would cost roughly P700 million and is expected to be completed by 2010.

The hotel will be the tallest structure in Mindanao, and will have a four-star classification. The hotel complex will have the usual amenities and facilities such as a ballroom, a function room, a coffee shop, and a swimming pool.

It will rise on the west side of the Limketkai commercial complex between the company’s proposed Gateway building on the national highway and Rosario Strip, an upscale area near Robinsons Big R Super Center that hosts boutiques, wellness centers, coffee shops and restaurants.

The Limketkai Group, which is also into agribusiness, is controlled by the Lim family based here.

City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula, who earlier commended local businessmen for laying out their investment plans in the city this year, praised the Lims’ hotel project. The mayor has made it a priority to boost the tourism.

Mr. Lim said the hotel will cater to businessmen as well as tourists. When asked if it will compete with the Mallberry Suites business hotel, which is adjacent to the Robinsons mall, Mr. Lim said the new hotel would complement the existing hotel’s operations.

The city has a number of major hotels aside from Mallberry, such as Pryce Plaza, Koresco, and Dynasty Court, catering to as many as 300,000 tourists arriving annually. Koresco Hotel, which was built by Korean investors, serves mainly Korean visitors.

In an interview with BusinessWorld late last year, Mr. Lim said Limketkai Sons, Inc. will convert its property in Lapasan district into the city’s new central business district. The plan includes the new Gateway building on the national highway, the new hotel, and an elevated walkway that connects buildings in the area. - BusinessWorld

Limketkai & Sons, Inc. has began the exterior painting on the Limketkai Gateway Tower 1 as seen in the above photo. The colors resemble that of the perspective of the building shown below.

Limketkai Complex’s first multi-storey office building, Limketkai Gateway Tower 1, is now on the final stages of construction. Painting of the building’s exterior is almost done. As of today, workers are seen installing window panes and grills. Interior finishing and penthouse roofing are also in progress.

Meanwhile, the LKK Gateway entrance along CM Recto Avenue is also underway. Work on the unique roofing continues. At the rate, a 3rd quarter opening is definitely attainable.

The vibrant colors of Limketkai & Sons’ Gateway project can be noticed especially if you’re entering Cagayan de Oro City proper either from the west (Maharlika Bridge) or from the east (Lapasan area). In recent months since the 8-storey building reached its final height, it has been a fixture from every motorists that that is where Limketkai Complex, a landmark in the city.

Work on the Gateway has been rushed lately probably for a fiesta opening. The Gateway serves as the entrance from the highway to the main mall, joined by architecturally designed bridges. In earlier press releases, the Gateway will house a fastfood outlet, grocery, pharmacy, and coffee shops, all operating 24 hours a day.

I'm not quite sure, Bai... It's either 9 or 10 floors... The first 2 levels are somewhat seen as only 1... These levels comprise the commercial part of the building... The topmost floor comprises only the middle part of the structure... :-)

^^ nice nice. That rumored Ayala fronting Gaisano will really have stiff competition from LKK with this Gateway Mall. LKK is only showing that they are really serious in outclassing those bigger competitors.

I may not be Kagay-anon but Im proud that finally a locally raised mall is really making a run for their money. I mean, in Mindanao, I guess LKK is the only pure-bred local mall that is really up to challenge of competition. And they are doing a good job with it :okay:

Jollibee and RCBC are the first tenants of the Gateway Building of Limketkai & Sons. The fastfood company is set to open their latest branch in the city once the Limketkai Gateway is inaugurated. The familiar Jollibee logo can be seen peeping out of its paper covering. If I’m not mistaken, this will be the 3rd “drive thru” outlet for the fastfood giant after the NHA and Puerto branches.

Cars and other vehicles enter from CM Recto to the western side of the building and then proceed to the back, then turn left to exit toward Limketkai Avenue.

Jollibee and RCBC are the first tenants of the Gateway Building of Limketkai & Sons. The fastfood company is set to open their latest branch in the city once the Limketkai Gateway is inaugurated. The familiar Jollibee logo can be seen peeping out of its paper covering. If I’m not mistaken, this will be the 3rd “drive thru” outlet for the fastfood giant after the NHA and Puerto branches.

Cars and other vehicles enter from CM Recto to the western side of the building and then proceed to the back, then turn left to exit toward Limketkai Avenue.

exactly! its more of a strip mall or commercial strip. btw, this kind of commercial strip will be emulated in Alegria hills so that the people living there wont bother going to the downtown area to buy groceries and other necessary things.

If I work in LKK, then I wouldn't give a damn of asking questions. But since I am not from LKK and I am very much int'rested with your post then by all means, I have the right to inquire. Not even the president can stop me from expressing my thoughts as long as they're valid. It's those people who love to spread rumors and unsupported claims should be banned from posting here in SSC. Anyway, assuming that those complains are true, then let's expect that these tenants would leave LKK gateway tower one... that if LKK management really neglects their concerns. In fact, I recently recognized him for his exemplary attitude here in SSC. I think he knows who he is. If there's that person who hates CVC, it's me. That's why I refrain from visiting other cities' thread especially if I have nothing good to say. And if I do visit, I am trying to be as tactful as I am simply because I am just a visitor and I think it has always been a protocol to value respect and courtesy. I have made my effort to build a brotherhood here in SSC. I started with Cebu and then Bacolod. This is the first shot I took with my almost dead camera batteries. The second is of the hotel (another post). Well, the questions have been answered. The second building being constructed right now beside Gateway Tower 1 is of course Tower 2…and will have eight (8) floors too. I don’t think Limketkai will call it a “twin” if the second building is not eight as circulated in coffee shops.

Mataas nga yong ceiling from the ground floor, nice one for the Gateway! I cannot picture out bakit nasa side ang escalator, di pa kasi natin nakita ang entire interior nito. Go Darky pag mag food trip ka sa Jollibee take some pics para makita natin ang space sa loob nito.

Yeah, a portion of that walkway was demolished as what @makaryo said in LKK hotel thread and it is mentioned also by damarre on his blog. you better check it out and also find answer if you can to the building that gets you puzzled near mcdo though isn't a big deal hehehe
