Hope this post/thread is OK here? . . . . just spotted a trailer for this . . .

UK TV More 4 Tue 17th Feb 20:30 TV series about Skyscrapers

Series 1 | Vertical City

In 1991, One Canada Square, the UK's tallest skyscraper, changed the London skyline. But the Cesar Pelli designed icon wasn't in the heart of the capital.

Instead the developers had taken a billion dollar gamble on creating an international financial centre, symbolised by this obelisk-shaped tower, in the desolate docklands of the City's East End.

But when the world property market collapsed just after the complex was completed, the developers went bankrupt and a large part of the tower lay in darkness...

yeh they must have gone into my room one day whilst I was out to do laundry and found an AJ under the corner of my matress, eurgh..

..Anyway. I'm hoping this series won't be just a few shows but have a bit of depth to it, show us the usual.. but it seemed like it was going to profile a fair few 20th century architects.

I didn't know they knew..

They probably check your Internet history! Hide your skyscrapercity history behind a mountain of porn to make you seem more normal ;)

Was an ok program, nothing new or amazing. More a history of the development and nothing about the IRA bomb.

Its a step in the right direction for new developments... hopefully C4 will continue with the new age architecture programming (I mean we have Grand Designs and the Stirling Prize on C4 anyway)..

Would of prefered more on the new proposals rather than just OCS, he didn't have much say about it and was fairly repetitive, saying that.. It was a good show, OCS looks stunning, as did the other towers.. Looking forward to tonights show on WTC site.

^ Yes didn't say enough about future developments. Must of been filmed quite a while ago, as couldn't see Landmark on there or Pan Pensulia or however you spell it. :P

Show tonight should be good.

PP was on some shots, was far from topped out mind, but it wasn't too old a show (besides, all the towers were known about and approved way back when anyway!) lol.

I presumed, with the intro each program that the Bank of China would be one of the shows, however it says on Radiotimes that Monday night's show (the 5th and final show) is about the Deansgate tower, Manchester.

So we've had OCS, 7WTC, Turning torso, Seagram and Deansgate Tower.. strange.
