This is a beautiful project. Beirut needs more projects like this that show the city's character.

I agree with Lebanese Cedar we need more buildings that look like this one around Beirut and even Lebanon

i love this old style architecture but unfortunetly most buildings are high rise ones...hope to see more of these low-mid rise ones and not to destroy all old houses in beirut to replace them with high buildings that stick to others it looks bad!

I agree. Beirut would be so much more vivid if we had some more buildings like this.

This looks so nice!

Do they have apartments for sale (http://www.ahlein.net) or only offices?

Noor gardens has allot to go, I think the project is composed of 3 buildings and only one is built so far.

The holiday inn was amazingly creepy and sneaking in was probably one of my proudest moments to date. There was basically a set of stairs leading to small guards washroom that had a crawl space inbetween the two walls leading to the holiday inn. The guard was M.I.A so I just snuck in and walked around the entire first floor and took pics. It was pretty amazing, all the doors were blown through, there was still crown molding and tiles in some rooms. The sun was setting and It started getting dark and I almost fell through an elevator shaft, but other than that It was amazing. I came out, the security gaurd saw me and started questioning, long story short, I told him I am a canadian tourist, and we ended the convo by him telling me where to go in bcd and taking pics, we shook hands .... he was nice. lol

I remember seeing the sign last year prior to them building.. and was thinking to myself how they will actually turn out.
I'm pleased... they look identical to the rendering I saw! I really like its style

You know i was thinking. I love this project because its more traditional and i love the red roofs being added back in. I also think this project will look like its always been there...

March 20th, 2012, 07:15 PM
I am going to guess that what you are seeing is not roof tiles, but rather some type of a water resistent membrane that goes underneath the clay tiles. at least I hope so.

Well, I like to think so too ! but then I checked the renders on the official website, and they are of the same color :/ I had my own guess and thought probably they are tryin to emphasize the Noor garden buildings among the rest. I hope they are not being innovative , coz theywould fail at it big time !

I think they are gonna be some kind of grey or something, maybe similar to the Souks roof tiles. I can't be hundred percent sure of the color, but I am almost sure they will be ugly! lol

Here's the Noor Gardens model. Those pictures were taken by me during the Dream Real estate exhibition of 2011

Noor Gardens delivery expected in two months
Half of $50-million compound already sold

Noor Gardens, a mixed-use development in Wadi Abou Jamil, is set for delivery by the end of 2012. The project is owned by UAE national Rached bin Darwish el-Ketbi through DBA developers.

“Investments of around $50 million were made in the development,” said Tania Naamani, sales and marketing manager.

Noor Gardens consists of three low-rise buildings, seven stories each. It includes apartments and penthouses, of average sizes between 380 square meters and 1,150 square meters respectively. The development also includes retail units on the ground floor and first level, of sizes ranging from 90 square meters to 500 square meters. “Around 60 percent of the project has already been sold,” Naamani said. She said the majority of buyers were Lebanese, most of which are currently residing in the country, while a few others are expatriates.

The project’s total build-up-area is 26,000 square meters, including 1,000 square meters of gardens. “The development is designed according to the architecture of Paris in the 1920s with French balconies overlooking the Grand Serail,” Naamani said.
