The on-going work on site is essentially a re-development project under the auspices of the Lagos State Government with necessary support of interested private sector operators. The objective of the re-development exercise is to; among other targets, ensure that the market, upon completion, is able to accommodate 10,000 traders in a healthy, well-managed environment of world-class standard. The project's plan makes provision for a well-equipped fire station and a truck loading and off-loading facility. Others are a police post, a sewage treatment plant and a car park with the capacity to accommodate at least 580 cars.

Nice one usersky.
Bravo Lagos

So should we be expecting to see any of these projects in which your brothers are collecting info about posted on here anytime soon, Sammy? That'll be nice, because the Naija board is starting to become pretty stagnant. It needs a fresh new round of fresh new projects to talk about.
I spoke with an uncle of my wife's who lives back in Naija and works as a construction engineer, he's said that new construction in Nigeria is astronomical, in that there's stuff being built everywhere. I told him about this site, and he's checked it out and said that the projects posted on here aren't even up to 5% of the total amount of major construction going on in the nation at this time.
I asked if he could send me some new pics of the various construction sites around the nation that he comes across. He said he would, but I have yet to get anything from him yet.
sammyjay77 February 18th, 2009, 02:45 PM The people back home are not really enthusiastic like most of us living outside the shores of Nigeria. They think this is something they see everyday and don't care if some of us on here are dying to know about whats happening.
I am not promising that my brothers will get information, they always say ''no problem'' anytime i ask them to get me photos and info and they will end up saying they are ''really busy hustling'' lol - of course I know they are not keen about going about with a camera and taking shots.

Nigeria should start making health and safety a priority. This man will stand no change if a heavy metal falls on his feet.
